  4. actually, all the 4-row cars (stavic, maxus, or starex, or this) are likely to have little of no leg room, cos the cars themselves aren't very much longer than a 3-row car. Is like if i have a pot of rice that is normally enough to feed my family of 3. Suddenly one day a person turns up unannounced and i ask him to stat for dinner... confirmed not enough to fill everybody's stomach completely... But at least all 4 won't starve lor... So the 3-row option is going to be a luxury, while the 4-row option is really stretching it... One thing about 9-seater, is normal class 3 allowed to drive? I've come across some places that say class 3 allows to drive car that can carry max addditional 7 pax (apart from driver)...
  5. presenting the Q7........ http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/aud...icle_1529.shtml
  6. Saw the full page ad on Today. 98,888 with COE. Free 24mths fuel vouchers worth 4,800 Free 6mths road tax worth 1,750 Free DVD entertainment system worth 1,450 Lets see.... 3199cc IL6 MB licensed engine 312Nm peak torque available at 4800RPM 5 speed Tiptronic 4WD system with small 5.8m turning radius More than 5m long can take 9 adults. They say go check at www.ssangyong.com.sg for details. Oh yes, can molest it on 26, 27 Nov. 2-5pm at Crown Hotel atrium. Of special mention is Vtim! With this kind of seating capacity, you can still own a car instead of a minibus!
  7. If you only want a diesel 7-seater and has budget for only $80k, then should be easy to make the choice. Using sgcarmart: https://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=902097&DL=1000 Cars been thrown up: Carens, Touran diesel, Stavic, BMW 2 series, Grand Scenic, Q30. My choice would be this: https://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=902097&DL=1000 Only worry is gearbox.
  8. While at it, should also make it easier to drive and own either a 9-seater (like the 4-row Stavic) or those passenger vans. Imagine if got 5 kids and 2 maids, and maybe even cater to grandparents... 😅 Class 3 cannot drive 9-seater and those vans right? Need special license?
  9. The <10 yr old Stavic in sgcarmart are asking $12K annual dep. Consider Nissan Elgrand. There are two 2009 examples for sale in sgcarmart, at $67,000 with new 10 yr COE. Toyota Alphard with renewed COE asking $8,000 per annum. Nissan Elgrand is value for money.
  10. Hi. Im looking got a used Stavic 9 seater. I dun mind left a few years or months of COE. My family is expanding. My current MPV going to be squeezy. Do email me at [email protected] Cheers

  12. Since you touched on Elgrand, would like to seek your inputs on renting this ride in Japan. Can you elaborate more on its cargo space compromise compare to other MPVs like Alphard or Serena? Would be lugging few large luggages along, and worry that cannot fit in after reading your view.. Am going to book one within these 2 days for a trip end of the month. Thanks. Actually would be tempted to go for Stavic or Starex if price is right. The 9-seater Stavic looks very tempting. Odessey not that spacious even comparing to the minivans. Would be looking at one-size bigger for my next ride, haha.
  13. Hi, I saw the ssangyong stavic at the recent car expo. And i am pretty impressed by its exterior look (Yes looks can be subjective). Its an mpv but looks like an suv which will have a presence on the road. Thats what I am looking for. And I am so reluctant to get a alphard/vellfire cos it really makes me look like an uncle and of course the price will go past the $200k mark. I am currently driving an 8.5 year old Toyota fortuner btw. Prado could be a replacement ption but it can't beat the 9 seater stavic I would like to know whether anyone has owned a ssangyong car before? Any review? Can it last 10 years? Cos I reckon getting a ssangyong will have big depreciation impact once it leaves the showroom. What about servicing and parts? Is motorway reliable? Really appreciate your comments cos I am seriously thinking of getting this car. Thanks!

  15. Wow, never knew there's another 4-row MPV around. Tot only that Stavic has 4 rows... Styling certainly is nicer than Stavic. And this one is from China? Never heard of the brand before leh.
  16. Hi all, I am also doing some homework before i confirm another Stavic. The challenges i am facing now is where are the spare parts been sold cuz i cant find it online as i do not believe in agents. Can anyonr assist to enlighten me please? 17. Who dares mention "stavic" ? stavic stavic stavic stavic stavic Whats wrong with stavic anyway? Its big, can sit a lot of people, have four rows of seats and its big... Some point in our lives we wished to grow up to be a bus driver anyway....errr...maybe its just me...
  18. Was quite surprise to chance upon this ride when reading on some car news last night. Did not notice its availability over here before that at all. Really low key as it was never publicized in any way at all, as should have. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=12237 http://i.i-sgcm.com/new_cars/cars/12237/brochures/brochure_20180124082626.pdf http://www.carbuyer.com.sg/index.php/news/1456-sg-motorshow-2018-this-chinese-mpv-costs All along I had noticed that Maxus in Malaysia has a MPV line under G10 which was not brought over here when C&C clinched the dealership. I had always thought the ride looks good as it has similar shape and finishing as Starex which is also not really available here as quite ex at S$170k. Anyway, people up north are quite fortunate as they have options that are equivalent to Alphard/Vellfire at substantially lower costs. So I am quite happy to read that since Jan/2018, the Maxus G10 SE is available over here under 2 trims at $140k and $150k. I do not know the exact difference between the 2 trims except for the electric tailgate (with leg motion) and the 18" wheels and sun roofs, but standard features such as TPMS, 360 camera, and adaptive cruise control are quite useful. And the ride comes with 6-speed gear mated to a 2L turbocharged engine that provides a respectable century sprint of 10.2 seconds which I read somewhere. The ride is long at 5.1m but not very tall at 1.928m, and very wide at close to 2m. Finishing wise, I would think better not to expect too much as it is definitely in Starex category. It should be more of a workhorse, like Biante, with plastic parts all over. Of course reliability is not proven at this moment as it is very new. But I do not foresee any issues as it is carried by C&C. Anyway it is not really possible to get a full-size MPV under AD right now other than Alphard/Vellfire/Elgrand, except for Saangyong Stavic which seems no longer available in sgcarmart now. If willing to go PI, the triplets and Stpwagon are potential candidates, but then again they are really a size smaller. Biante also seems to be obsoleted for good now. But I do not foresee this ride to sell well, as not many families would need such a big ride to begin with. But definitely happy to more options in this climate especially with the new VES resulted in a lot of models being pulled from the market. Really good luck to the C&C people.
  19. I did get quite car sick after taking a ride in the Stavic taxi, and it was only over a short distance. It should come with rear sliding doors to make getting in and out of the taxi (especially the elderly who will need to climb up into the cabin).... Other than that, the engine was quite torque. 2.7xdi turbo diesel engine not too bad. I wonder what's the daily rental for the Stavic though. If it's the same as Maxi Cab Mercedes Vito, then obviously I don't think the Stavic is comparable to Vito...
  20. The article was not clear at all lah. Think the 8-seater passenger cars should mean 8-seater passenger buses instead. Those whose reg plates are either P or C ones. shouldn't be referring to the MPVs like Previa, Estima, Ody, Elgrand, Triplets, Viano, etc. etc. or even the Stavic which can take 10 - but all registration plates are the normal cars range, now SMH or something...
  21. Haha you faced the same dilemma as me. My requirements then were 1. Twin auto sliding doors 2. Dual Moon Roofs 3. Rear Aircons 4. Very Spacious Cabin Space 5. Durable and fuel efficient 6. No more than 2L Only Freed make the mark. Though not very spacious. Until I saw Biante... Then Noah. Was blown away. Then Voxy launched, I told myself thats the car to buy. Had been monitoring MPVs for a lvery long time. From the drought to the start and full blown flood of MPV models. Suddently ISIS, Freed came back after PIs stopped selling them. Thats was the time when Dealers starts to hire more SE, in view of COE dropping... till now still no drop though... When I saw so many MPV coming in, was v happy. Anyone considered Stavic? Most ppl hate that car. If triplets and biante and stepwagon is a hate, then stavic is probably 10 times the hate. Funny thing, I actually considered it
  22. happened to be near bukit merah on Sat, and took the chance to go and take a look at the huge Stavic, then Noah, and Freed. Stavic is 2 litre only, and vehicle is 5.2 m and 2 ton… With turbo dunno can move well or not. In any case, the 3rd (or 4th) row is a bench, and not split seat, so won't meet my needs. OMV is only 25k, but selling at 150k+. Noah. Finally saw the vehicle. Got auto doors, but otherwise quite no-frills. 3rd row seats can fold and flip up to be suspended from the walls, and the folded seats do not obstruct the 'airspace' too much so is quite spacious. SE could say how much was OMV other than '20-something thousand'… selling at 140k. Freed. Super compact. SE said his customer said it's more spacious than wish, which I don't believe. Didn't even bother to ask price. They had Estima Aeras there too, and SE said now got offer at 160k. Was told that it's possible to add more airbags at a few more thousand dollars… at which point i left.
