  1. Source: https://mothership.sg/2023/03/police-scdf-video-livestream/ Where helpful, officers at the respective Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) operation centres can now choose to initiate a live video stream during '999' or '995' calls. Callers, from a safe location, will then give the operators consent to activate the live video stream. This new capability, the Emergency Video System, is jointly developed by the SPF, the SCDF and the Home Team Science and Technology Agency in collaboration with ST Engineering. How it works In a media factsheet jointly released by the agencies on Mar. 20, they noted that officers at the operation centres may sometimes face difficulties in understanding the incident situation over an emergency call. This is especially so for "complex and dynamic situations" in which the caller may be unable to communicate the extent of the situation, the agencies said. When deemed useful, officers at the operations centres will initiate the activation of the system. Callers will then receive an SMS with a hyperlink. After tapping on the hyperlink, the web browser on the caller's mobile phone will be used to stream live footage of the incident. No installation of mobile applications is required on the caller's phone. While the live video stream is active, the caller should remain on the '999' or '995' call as this will allow the operation centre officers to communicate verbally with the caller, said the agencies. The caller's location will also be transmitted by the system to the operation centre. System will aid in decision-making According to SPF and SCDF, the link is a one-time link that will expire once tapped on or after a period of time, CNA reported. Callers may also choose to decline the live video stream request by ignoring the link or end the video stream from their mobile phone, the Home Team agencies said, according to CNA. "During major emergencies that involve both agencies (e.g. major fires), the same live stream may be shared between the SPF and SCDF Operations Centres", the agencies pointed out in the factsheet. According to the agencies, the introduction of the Emergency Video System will augment the Home Team's emergency call response and aid in their officers' situational assessment and decision-making.

  3. Property agent & partner say sorry for rubbishing Grab drivers, delivery riders on live stream. https://theindependent.sg/property-agent-partner-say-sorry-for-rubbishing-grab-drivers-delivery-riders-on-live-stream/ They boasted. They showed off. They poured scorn on delivery riders and disparaged those who depend on them to deliver meals. Then the terrible two apologised. Will their auras change now? A Malaysian property agent and his partner, who is described as an entrepreneurship educator, got flamed online recently for mocking food delivery riders and private hire drivers and calling them “parasites”. Paul Lim, 28, a senior real estate negotiator from Penang, and his partner, Maggie Fong, held a Facebook live stream on Nov 7. It had been intended to recruit more agents to build up their property business targeted at rich people. Towards that end, Mr Lim showed off a watch that he said cost 100,000 ringgit (S$36,000) which he said he had bought from the money he had made. Their boastful presentation seems to have turned many viewers off and even drawn a reprimand from the Malaysian Institute of Real Estate Agents (MEIA). Some viewers called out both of the presenters for disparaging private hire car drivers and delivery riders. As for ordinary folk, the two displayed some amount of scorn, which ended up backfiring. Ms Fong asked in Mandarin, “How rich can those who order takeaway food be?,” which elicited laughter from Mr Lim. “How can you have a future doing food delivery?,” she then added. Ms Fong also said: “Only parasites drive Grab; they have no culture. While she claimed she was not disparaging such jobs, she pushed for better-paying ones, saying that a person’s aura would change if they sold “something with million-dollar price tags to the rich”. People watching the live stream then defended these jobs to the two, underlining that people who work in these sectors are making an honest living. HOWEVER, MS FONG UPSET THE APPLECART FURTHER BY ANSWERING, “ONLY PARASITES DRIVE GRAB, THEY HAVE NO CULTURE”. The backlash was swift, and severe, with netizens roundly condemning the attitude of the pair. On Thursday, Oct 11, the Malaysian Institute of Real Estate Agents (MEIA) issued a public statement that sought to distance itself from the pair. It described the livestream as “most disparaging” and that MEIA neither agrees with nor supports their “insidious” statements. The CEO of the group, K. Soma Sundram, went on record to give his opinion of Mr Lim. “He has set a very bad example and has dented efforts to ensure that real estate negotiators are professionals. He has destroyed all the hard work that we have been doing. The trust levels have gone down.” One news report says that Mr Lim is a “super-agent” who has gotten rich enough to afford a Vellfire, a personal driver and a very expensive watch. Mr Lim issued an apology via a video he posted on Facebook on Nov 9. Speaking apparently tearfully, he said, “I am sorry, please give me a chance to change my ways” and asked viewers not to involve his family and company over his poor judgment. Ms Fong, who was later discovered to be Mr Lim’s aunt and not a real estate negotiator, is also said to have apologised, and is quoted in Malaysia’s Sin Chew Daily as saying she had learned a lesson from the incident. She claims to have wanted to encourage the youth to have better lives. While the original live stream has been taken down, Mr Lim’s apology is still on his Facebook account. /TISG

  6. This should be fun and interesting.. I am using Airplay for most of my music at home.. https://www.whathifi.com/advice/apple-airplay-2-everything-you-need-to-know From what we saw at Apple’s presentation, AirPlay 2 will offer the ability to stream music wirelessly to, and between, compatible speakers on the same wi-fi network. This is through the Control Centre on iOS devices, an Apple TV box, or iTunes. You can define where in your house the speaker is located, using labels such as ‘Living Room’ or ‘Kitchen’. From there, you can control which speakers are playing music at any time, both invidivually and as a group. As long as the speakers are AirPlay 2-compatible, you’ll be able to connect speakers from different manufacturers together through this system, giving you more versatility regarding the products you want to use when setting up your multi-room system. 7. Hi all guru, i am driving a honda stream 1.8x 2009 model. Just purchase this car from close family member. He is a careful driver thus i believe that the car has no previous problem. But recently i realise that my car has slight longer time (1second more) to start engine when i turn on the key. SPark plug was removed to check and is in good condition. Also, i experienced loss of power when going from 2000 rpm and above..specially when im trying to change lane and speed up. The car behave like "a buffalo", cant accelerate as fast and car from behind already came near me!! And sometime i tried to rev the rpm to 5-7rpm, i feel that the car is "free gear" ...i feel that the engine just keep turning at high speed but it feels that it nt engaged in any gear **(hard to explain this feeling. the car seems to be at free gear which i cant really control the speed but to let go accelerator then the accelerator seems to be engaged into the gear for me to control the speed) I tried to top up full and drive slowly. Full tank is about 470-480km. But the consumption sometime still state 9.9-10.2km/l I heard from my close family he used to get 11-12. Would like to check if anyone has this problem for high fuel consumption loss of power when overtaking (*seriously mus solve this problem) thanks in advane!!

  10. Hi all, i am looking for your opinion. In recent regular maintenance, my engineer suggested me to change the front absorber and engine mounting which cost about 1.5K inlcuding labor. I can feel the problem while driving and it is getting a little worse in the past 6 months. Howver, I am not sure whether I shall chang them now since the car is due in 3 years and I probably will change another car. what would you do if in my situation? thanks.
  11. Hi guys, i need some help. I am driving a 06 GS300 and saw on youtube that a device can be installed so that i can play songs directly from my iPhone. 13. today, when I drove back home, I suddenly found that the D indicator was blinking. i am not sure when it started. but I am pretty sure it was not blinking this morning. When I change to other gear, it went off, but when I engage D, it blinks again. When I drove back to carpark, I switch off the car and on again, it does not blink anymore. scary, what is the problem?
  14. hi all , need some advise here on steering wheel issue. like all other cars I've driven, the steering wheel will move itself back to center position either after making a turn or when I released my hands from steering wheel. I notice the steering wheel stays in the "turned" position , does not self center when I test drive(30-40km/h) a 2007 stream today. Have not tried making U-turn though. Mechanic told me there is nothing wrong because stream uses electronic power steering unlike hydraulics type. Maybe its really due to EPS but I still find it very weird to handle car like this. Any stream owners have the same issue?
  15. from japanese website. no judgements given. see for oneself.
  16. Okay here goes, I have a honda stream (2007 model). When I'm driving, everything is smooth. Here's the problem, when at idle or stationary, the car's vibration (slight) is still bearable, but when the aircon compressor kicks in, my RPM would drop to about 600-700 and the entire car would rattle. If it's just a once in awhile thing, I wouldn't mind, but the problem with Honda is that the damn compressor kicks in every other minute. Although it has been like that for quite a while, it hasn't caused any problems but as of late, it has become increasingly irritable and uncomfortable to me. Anyone out there has faced the same problem? Any ideas what might go wrong and how do I go about fixing it? Much thanks.
  17. Thinking of changing to either Freed or Stream, need advice from owners, pros & cons (mod friendly ), many thanks in advance

  21. Hi experts in japanese makes, need help from you guys/girls. Looking at used model of these 2 MPVs... Around 2006 or 2007 model... Size i think is around the same, right? In terms of performance, which one is better in terms of acceleration and handling? What about reliability? Safety? Thanks...

  23. Hi forumers here who has done some research. Wana have some quick responses. I have been ard looking for a 07 or 08 WISH but seems like there's not much in the market except for 05 and 06 models? And most of the salesperson are pushing which is more widely available in the market. - Is there a common problem for Wish which surfaces after some time? - Is there a common provblem for Stream after some time? - Stream is a bit on the higher side as compared to Wish but they generally have higher OMV value. True? - Base on paper, which ride provides better power? - What's your personal feel on each ride? - Wish seems to provide better rear boot space and Stream seems to lack of that but compensate with better road control (just my personal feel after test driving both). Any comments? Pros and Cons? - Which gives a better FC? (although i know its base on road usage and loading. )
