  1. The overturned car is Honda Stream. The Saab tbone Honda Stream first, causing it to flip Heard from radio the JC girl was a passenger in the Honda Stream, I think she was flung out and landed under the Sorento from the impact. Her father, the driver of the Honda Stream, is in critical condition
  2. Err it's just kinetic energy and he clipped the stream at the rear 1/3 of the stream that caused the stream to turn turtle. Just see what happened to the merc who was like probably the last vehicle he hit and actually had the least kinetic energy transferred. The guy was probably doing 100+kph? No Ma Chi but definitely at least 110-120kph? The reason why the saab driver didn't die is simply cos he transferred all his kinetic energy to the people suay enough to be in his path and he rammed through all of them and they were unstable and not really a wall. Otherwise if he rammed a bus or a truck, he would have died.
  3. @Lala81 Overturned should be a Honda Stream. Not too clear which car the JC girl was in, but should be either the Sorento or the Stream. Saab looks like almost no damage, considering the carnage it left behind.
  4. Basically Kona and Niro both are sharing parts. The same 6 speed dry clutch DCT with 1.6L smart stream engine with the exact same lithium ion battery too. 129hp with 265nm torque. 10 years engine warranty, 10 years lithium battery warranty and 5 years unlimited mileage warranty. Same same but different. Placed order on 13th April then C&C bid the 17th April bidding of CAT A COE, collecting my NIRO SX within the first two weeks of May. Even new comfort taxi and PHV both using latest Kona and Niro, so I am not so worry about servicing, maintenance and spare parts.
  5. JC girl was in the overturned grey Honda Stream, the first car to be hit. Her father, the driver is in critical cond.
  6. Organiser ownself self praise https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/steady-stream-of-visitors-at-the-car-expo-2024-on-april-13
  7. Honda stream 250k, auto gear weak, sometimes not able to change up smoothly. overhaul? 5 years more to coe end
  8. Just ported my Zero1 number to Simba $10 plan and here's my quick review: Can immediately self-collect sim card on same day after application - good. Port in number effective within 12 hrs after collect sim card - very fast. Simba 5G speed according to speedtest app is actually only 10-30Mbps range which is on par or slower than 4G speed from previous Zero1 (Singtel network). For comparison, real 5G speed from Singtel is at least above 100Mbps. Numbers aside, it's still ok to stream video, songs and normal browsing so no difference. Patchy signal coverage - no signal inside my estate carpark so I can't start GPS navigation before driving off. Have to exit carpark then will work. In conclusion, $10 for 100Gb data is cheapest rate around so mai hiam buay pai lah.
  9. nowadays these 'influencer' can fake anything just to boost their viewership and followers, speechless. https://www.koreaboo.com/asia/chen-neng-chuan-goodnight-chicken-influencer-fakes-kidnapping-suffers-consequences/ A Taiwanese streamer has been arrested for allegedly faking his own kidnapping. Chen Neng Chuan, known by his online name Goodnight Chicken, did a broadcast on February 12 where he explored a hostel that allegedly housed job scam victims. During the stream, he entered the building but was “caught” by guards patrolling the grounds, and the stream was then cut off. After this, his wife and friends did a stream on his account expressing concern over his disappearance, saying they had no updates from local police. On the 13th, he did another stream showing himself disheveled with torn clothes, claiming to have escaped after being beaten by his captors. However, the supposedly happy ending raised many eyebrows, leading to an investigation. It was reported by the Criminal Bureau and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Chen’s family made no inquiries into his supposed disappearance. Chen was ultimately detained by Cambodian police on suspicion of inciting discrimination, making false statements, and wasting public resources. Following his arrest, Chen’s Facebook page went inactive, as authorities asked the public to come forward with any more information they may have. This is not the first time Chen has allegedly faced legal issues — he previously had lawsuits filed after breaking into buildings and claiming they were the sites of murders and hauntings.
  10. Definitely will not come with the stated: 2.0-liter N.A. engine with 147 HP and 179 Nm of torque 1.6-liter T.C. option with 190 hp and 264 Nm of torque High chance if got come to SG will be the 1.6 smart stream engine. 🥲
  11. Though not many of us would really appreciate your attempt to humble brag here, but an involved parent would usually know that their girls go to rgs and boys to ri. I'm unsure why you may have gotten so heated up and personal with the chief marker. It is to the benefit of our students that aside from keywords, the markers also look at answers more holistically. Of course, teachers will emphasise keywords as it's the most direct way of getting the marks and avoids ambiguity. The chief setter is saying that even in the presence of ambiguity, the student may be able to get the marks if the responses still show a clear understanding of the concept. There are baby steps taken to change the education system now, such as the removal of the normal, normal tech and express stream. Removal of o levels for IP students which happened some time back. Removal of mid year exams for many levels.. and so on.. The system is making changes gradually to prevent shocks to students and parents and tho it's far from perfect, the changes will still benefit students more in the new one that the older ones we were all accustomed to. It's always easy to criticise but to be able to implement and execute seamlessly is a different skill altogether imho.
  12. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/ucars-lays-off-staff-replaces-ceo-after-being-served-legal-notice-for-debts SINGAPORE - Barely five years after it started in mid-2019, a car portal set up to challenge incumbent sgCarMart is skidding towards an uncertain future. UCars has been served a notice of demand – a legal letter – by directors of its holding company, 21 United Holdings, to repay more than $400,000. The notice was served in late January 2024. UCars confirmed that it has received it and is in the process of “verifying the amount” before working out a repayment schedule. Soon after the notice was filed, UCars chief executive Hong Chun Mun stepped down from the helm. He was replaced by Mr Wynton Lee, a 30-year-old from Farquhar VC, which has invested in UCars and is now its second-largest shareholder after 21 United Holdings. Several directors at 21 United Holdings have also stepped down. They include former chairmen Eddie Loo and Albert Neo, as well as other founding members who were among some 40 used-car dealers who came together in 2018 to form a venture to challenge Toyota-owned sgCarMart, which they felt was competing directly with them. In mid-2019, 21 United Holdings set up UCars, an online portal with listings of used and new cars for sale. UCars then acquired motoring publications CarBuyer and Top Gear Singapore in 2021 from businessman Leow Ju-Len for an undisclosed sum, in an apparent bid to replicate the “editorial content” which sgCarMart has. None of the directors and former directors The Straits Times spoke with wanted to be quoted by name. But an insider said troubles began around three years ago, with mounting losses and eroding shareholder funds. “It’s basically a management issue,” the insider added. “The revenue stream from advertising and events did not materialise. We were burning $300,000 a month.” As a result, some of the staff at CarBuyer and Top Gear were owed salaries. Eventually, the entire team of close to 10 people from the two publications were laid off in February. Two of them have since rejoined, but have been put on a profit-sharing scheme. Over the last 12 months or so, more than 20 others in the UCars team have also left. ST understands that only half a dozen remain now, down from a peak headcount of around 50. Two floors of office space occupied by UCars in Ayer Rajah Crescent have been given up. “We’ve brought costs down to $20,000 a month. And all the unpaid salaries are almost settled,” the insider added. “What we want to do now is to press the reset button.” He said UCars will retain the CarBuyer title, but will give up Top Gear. According to the insider, the company is in the process of appointing a new corporate secretary, and will focus on growing revenue from another business it acquired three years ago – Pcom-SSB, an accounting software provider which several car dealers use. He said previous plans to list UCars on a stock exchange have been put on hold.
  13. nurses always remind me "...mid stream..... mid stream..." they don't know how difficult to do it pee, pinch, move to the tiny bottle, let go, pinch again, move away from the bottle and let go 😁
  14. Without getting into the fact-checking debate, I can assure you the generalisation of the population here being "car owning" is merely one aspect of demographics - we are predominantly old, retired or close to retiring, mostly male (except for that used car dealer/masseuse who identifies as a lesbian trapped in a man's body), having grown up on main stream media and information from school and public libraries and witnessed the birth of mainstream internet, heard the bits and bauds of a dial-up modem...... calling the guys here merely "car-owning" doesn't really give the full picture.
  15. Source: https://mothership.sg/2023/03/police-scdf-video-livestream/ Where helpful, officers at the respective Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) operation centres can now choose to initiate a live video stream during '999' or '995' calls. Callers, from a safe location, will then give the operators consent to activate the live video stream. This new capability, the Emergency Video System, is jointly developed by the SPF, the SCDF and the Home Team Science and Technology Agency in collaboration with ST Engineering. How it works In a media factsheet jointly released by the agencies on Mar. 20, they noted that officers at the operation centres may sometimes face difficulties in understanding the incident situation over an emergency call. This is especially so for "complex and dynamic situations" in which the caller may be unable to communicate the extent of the situation, the agencies said. When deemed useful, officers at the operations centres will initiate the activation of the system. Callers will then receive an SMS with a hyperlink. After tapping on the hyperlink, the web browser on the caller's mobile phone will be used to stream live footage of the incident. No installation of mobile applications is required on the caller's phone. While the live video stream is active, the caller should remain on the '999' or '995' call as this will allow the operation centre officers to communicate verbally with the caller, said the agencies. The caller's location will also be transmitted by the system to the operation centre. System will aid in decision-making According to SPF and SCDF, the link is a one-time link that will expire once tapped on or after a period of time, CNA reported. Callers may also choose to decline the live video stream request by ignoring the link or end the video stream from their mobile phone, the Home Team agencies said, according to CNA. "During major emergencies that involve both agencies (e.g. major fires), the same live stream may be shared between the SPF and SCDF Operations Centres", the agencies pointed out in the factsheet. According to the agencies, the introduction of the Emergency Video System will augment the Home Team's emergency call response and aid in their officers' situational assessment and decision-making.
  16. Everyday keep hyping on such story spinning news in our mian stream media. Ok ok... I got you point (pap). Move on... https://www.straitstimes.com/opinion/budget-2024-middle-income-workers-get-their-day-in-the-sun Quoted. The second layer consists of mid-course incentives to spur people along a certain path, or corrections to smoothen policy frictions. Examples of this in the latest Budget are the fixes to the Central Provident Fund scheme to remove the Special Account (SA) and streamline it into the Retirement Account or Ordinary Account. This removes the loophole that was letting cash-rich Singaporeans enjoy the high 4 per cent interest in the SA, which is meant for long-term funds, while using the account like a cash account they can withdraw from at any time.
  17. Yes they won't u turn which would make them look foolish. A lot of fire fighting now using main stream media. https://mothership.sg/2024/02/closing-cpf-special-accounts-targets-shielding-loophole-used-by-wealthier-cpf-members-explained/
  18. Anyone remember this? Predating the numerous Dragon Playgrounds that were built all around HDB estates in Singapore, the Housing & Development Board actually also built not one but two Dragon sculptures as part of Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 3 and Balestier Estate. The one in Balestier Estate pictured here stands in front of Block 85 Whampoa Drive and originally spouted water from its mouth as part of a fountain. Built 50 years ago in 1974 by the HDB, the dragon sprays water no more today after a major renovation in 2012 (the last year of the dragon) but is nevertheless still standing. A New Nation story from 19 August 1974 says that "The dragon, recently completed by the Housing and Development Board, has scales of red, green and pink made from broken China rice bowls. It is mounted in the centre of a fountain bowl in the playground. When activated, it shoots out a steady stream of water." https://eresources.nlb.gov.sg/newspapers/digitised/page/newnation19740819-1.1.1 Over the years, the playground and a large part of the park the dragon was originally situated in has been replaced by the Central Expressway, and this has led some people to call the dragon the "CTE Dragon" as it looms on the left as you head north from Balestier along the expressway. It is interesting to note that when the flats in Balestier estate were balloted in 1973, the impending building of the dragon fountain was mentioned by the HDB: https://eresources.nlb.gov.sg/newspapers/digitised/article/newnation19730328-1.2.22 It will be the year of the wooden dragon in just a few hours, and I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Healthy, Prosperous and Fruitful Dragon Year!
  19. @13177 my Corolla in early 2000, matrix in late 2004, stream in late 2008 all less than 1 month from order till delivery.
  20. We've done various routes. Dundee-Edinburgh-London <rtn> Brussels Airport-Antwerp (Eur3pp) Budapest-Prague overnight-Cesky Krumlov (Eur20pp) Cesky Krumlov-Prague (Eur6.40pp) Ljubljana-Porec (Eur17pp) Dusseldorf-Duisburg-Rotterdam (Eur17pp) Out of the trips, the only issue or delay we had was crossing the border into Croatia, a very long queue that took a few hours to clear. Apparently, day before it was fine, but like you said...... what are the chances? Even with three people, sometimes four, it is impossible to hire a car and pay for petrol cheaper than it is taking a bus and there is a really good EU/UK network. The Dusseldorf-Rotterdam sector, by train, wanted Eur42pp and no seat reservation, also needed changes at Arnhem and Utrecht. I'm quite a fan of the buses, usually with free WiFi to stream entertainment, and on-board toilet. In between, some EasyJet or other LCC (not RyanAir). Trains were good before COVID and we also took a lot but now, it is a huge risk if you have an appointment (flight) to keep.
  21. Live stream of her riding will be more interesting than driving . My friend said one. 😄
  22. These people make a lot of money on China TV and social media screaming how much the love China and CCP and have a lot of pro China followers. Now on the Piano man video they proudly tell him on a live stream they are holding UK citenzenship! Now if their followers know they are enjoying all the benefits of UK citizenship with freedom and governance and free speech their love China and love CCP rhetoric all sounds so hollow. Their fans run away that's a lot of money to lose! Better change the narrative and make a video saying Piano man hogged the piano for hours and won't let them play and he is a racist thug! Love China but take UK citizenship?
  23. They wave Chinese communist flags and film for China TV but so proud of being British citizens? Even going around telling people on live stream They are British? What's going on? Why they don't want to be China citizens?
  24. If I am out with the small 3 and I don't want to be in someone video and I see someone live stream on Utube I will not be walking into the camera shot and talking and shouting and then telling the guy I don't want to be filmed. You have to be stupid to do that! Communists never use their brains. The funny bit he said it was a communist flag the guy went - you are a racist! Communism isn't a race! Communist never talk with logic!
