  1. Hi guys/gals I owned a 06 trajet and found that its leaking gearbox oil. There will also be a great-felt jerk when changing from gear 2 to gear 3. Does this mean gearbox kaput liao? Other then this, it still drive smoothly. No high revs and all. What are the things that could happen? Need to find out some info 1st before headin to the workshop. Scared workshop easy way out is too overhaul or change recond gearbox. Pls advise. Or any trajet owners scrapping their car maybe I can swap your gearbox?
  2. Hi! Anyone driving a Hyundai Trajet??? Care to share your driving experience, fuel consumption, servicing, problems if any on this car??? my family is expanding, and is in need for more space.... and thanks to the sharp rise in COE, this is the car that is viable to our family at current situation. thanks.
  3. I vividly remember the Carnival is a larger car, with sliding doors and come with a 2.5L V6 (vs a 2.0L IL4 found in most Trajet here). So I googled and got these. Trajet was more popular than the better spec Carnival for the obvious: Road Tax! Having said that, the Trajet is by no mean a small MPV, and is one of the largest available here in the early to mid 2000s. And priced at ~S$90K or lesser, it was also much lower than the like of Previa, Picnic, Odyssey, Grandis, Mazda 5, Stream, Wish and such. 2000 - 2008 Hyundai Trajet (FO) Ext. Dimensions: 4,695mm (L) x 1,840mm (W) x 1,760mm (H) x 2,830mm (WB) Engine: 1,975cc IL4 16V (138HP / 184Nm) & 2,626cc V6 16V (168HP / 245Nm) 2002 - 2008 Kia Carnival (KV) Ext. Dimensions: 4,925mm (L) x 1,900mm (W) x 1,735mm (H) x 2,905mm (WB) Engine: 2,497cc V6 16V (173HP / 177Nm)
  4. I've read several remarks in various forums that the Trajet FL and Carens FL share the same 2.0 CVVT engine. However, reading the specs, I think it is incorrect. The Trajet FL runs the Beta engine, while the Carens FL runs the Theta engine. Perhaps they're the same engine block with some parameters tweaked. I found the Theta more refined and smoother than the Beta. Also, the specs show a very slightly higher HP and peak torque (at 4000rpm on the Beta vs. 4500rpm on the Theta). The Carens is a good 300kg lighter than the Trajet, and the gearbox upshifts earlier (probably due to the lower load). I had Joey from Harmony Motors to "Quickflash" both the Carens and Trajet because of the significantly better acceleration and cruise performance. Smooth and brisk acceleration (per butt dyno) could be achieved at 2,500rpm on the Carens but 3,000rpm on the Trajet. Cabin noise and vibration is noticeably higher in the Trajet (in fact, the Carens was so quiet at idle that most of my passengers wondered why I didn't turn on the engine), but road / wind noise is higher in the Carens. Just my limited experience. All that said, I found the Carens (on 225/50/R17) significantly more sprightly and nimble than the Trajet (on 225/45/R18*). The handling is also better on the Carens, probably due to the lower CG and also later design. Definitely not an "apples-to-apples" comparison. *If I get to do it again, I'd go for 17 rims for the Trajet (because my wife, who seldom drives, scraped the 18inchers on the kerbs because she isn't used to the size of the Trajet vs. Carens).
  5. Saw the news today. Now worry abt our kids in school, with more educators found guitly of sexual offences. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/former-river-valley-high/1268322.html

Subaru 800 - 2 years Mazda 121 - 3 years Suzuki Vitara - 3.5 years Nissan March - 5 years Misubishi Galant - 2 years Hyundai Trajet - 5 years Toyota Wish - 4 years BMW e90 - 1.5 years Mazda 6 - 2 years Mx5 - 10 years and counting Mazda 3 - 7 years and counting Every single car above bought for less than $100k
  7. Not easy to find a Trajet nowadays!
  8. Guys, Any idea how much I can get for my Aug 2005 Trajet 2.0 body? Mileage is about 42,000KM It's an OPC car. Any exporters want to quote?
  9. Should name it Trajet, for old times sake. 🤭
  10. What do you mean the trajet did not see the altis signal? The fact is altis tried to cut into the trajet lane, and was one car ahead of trajet earlier on, but trajet simple speeded up and refuse to give chance. The trajet is super arrogant and 101% wrong. There is no way the altis can know the trajet is trying to go straight. As the trajet did not even signal left or tried to cut to it's left early. Only at the junction then trajet decided to signal and go straight. I feel sorry for altis to have met with this farker trajet, and got into the accident for nothing.
  11. Anyone own the new Trajet ... with the CVVT engine ? Can share information please How is the fuel consumption (FC) for the 2.0L model ? I also understand the car has power or torque problem. Three MPV went up Genting namely Picnic, Odyssey and Trajet .... the trajet driver made a lot of noise when they reach the top as his car was struggling all the way ... is the new trajet the same or improved ?
  12. FYI...The New Trajet, coming soon.

    Harrier 2017

My son had the avante and we used to own 2017 harrier turbo If Avante - yes get the elite, we bought it at relatively good price of 81k only at that time. - brighter LED headlights (4 of them), reverse tilt side mirrors, memory seat, aircon seat, biind spot side mirrors. - cruise control is fix, not intelligent or radar cruise compared with the harrier. - FC with lots of highway averages 14 to 18km/L, had managed 20km/L (from Airport to Jalan Bahar). Yes slightly underpowered for Eco/normal mode but with Sport mode acceptable. Have driven it to Ipoh, stable at high speed cruising. - pretty reliable past 2 yrs, nil issues - boot space is large enough, frankly slightly larger than our old C class W205 - yes most value for money with minimal depreciation - stock tyres not so grippy, may worth to consider replacing it earlier. (we have own Hyundai trajet and old avante before - dont worry abt Korean reliability) For used Harrier - get the BM Turbo, with nice sequential front signal lights and adaptive high beam - beware that there are 2 G grade, the higher G grade has memory and ventilation seat - the first few batches power tailgate have no kick sensor, get the later batches if possible - the adaptive high beam is one of the best, very bright at NS highway, can see it dancing/flipping when you leave it to Auto/adaptive mode, depending on traffic - sad to say but do have some irritating intermittent issues with sonar sensors error, stock head unit GPS haywire (eventually replaced with pioneer), front bonnet emblem crack (replaced FOC), interior clock fade/off replace FOC tood, sold it away just before 3 yrs. - FC wise quite good, averages 13-14km per L generally. Full tank range around 600km - comfy wise felt a bit jumpy at times/jittery ride. Power more than enough for quick acceleration/traffic lights. - do note that the memory seat is strangely only for driver seat only, not link to the sidemirrors...(so have to adjust manually) Between the 2, up to you what you need or like. If base on expenditure, avante elite is a wise buy.
  14. Hi, Was always bias of korean cars due to it poor fuel consumption but after hearing some forumers did some logical calculation on the fuel cost against owning a japanese car....it make me re-look again at korea car. Am looking at Trajet and Tuscon, the previous look more worthwith as it allow me to have extra space when needed...whereas Tuscon look more rugged and nice....Can someone further comments on Trajet ? Do u think the price might go down further ? Many thanks
  15. Hi, my trajet engine check just lights up yesterday, appreciate if you could share here the contact of yr trustable and reasonable changing workshop for trajet pls. Thank you. 16. Hi All, Trajet at $69K look really attractive and seriously thinking of getting one. Could you guys out there advise the following? (1) Any news of new model of Trajet coming soon in the next couple of months ? Or another facelift soon? (2) Any major problems or bad experience with this value for money MPV ? (3) Any specific reasons not to get this MPV ? Thanks !
  17. Longest distance cover with my ex jet was to krabi with bro Ronnie yes, think trajet gives us the best memories, where the children grow up with it I salute my trajet when I scrap it for a long service award ! haha most comical part was we all tries to find ways to improve the FC of the trajet Fix this fix that then one time, the voltage stabilizer sold by one of the forummer catch fire on some trajet everyone quickly go and dismantle theirs
  18. My current trajet's centre and rear row headrest is too big that its blocking my rear view. Anyone knows where to get the low profile type, that's available on the Matrix?
  19. I'm thinking of changing to a anti-theft lock nut for my rims. What's the tread size of Trajet's wheel? Where's the best place to look at the range of lock but? Is forged aluminium lock nut good (as in performance)? Are opened end nut allowed?
  20. I am seriously considering the Trajet now that the 2.0 model is down again .... very tempting. I just need to re-confirm two points about the car ... the FC and the Power ... can anyone existing trajet owner especially those who drive the newer one (with the CVVT engine) .... older model also can. What is the FC like ? 8-9 km/l I heard ... is this right ? Can the car climb the Sheares Bridge on the ECP without dropping gear ? (in the direction from Changi to City) and when climbing up the Sheares Bridge from Ophir Road to Changi Airport without needing to floor the accelerator ? Many thanks for your kind feedback.
  21. Now that Lotus is under Geely group, which also owned Volvo, I am seeing the development of its first SUV a natural progression. The Lynk & Co 1 was co-developed with Volvo XC40, and the experience gained could have help Lotus to jump onto the SUV bandwagon in a much shorter time. And not forgetting the market in China is huge... I have to say once again that with EV replacing ICE, it is just like a COVID-19 in the automotive world, resetting the brand value and market share of what we have been so used to. Yah, same thought here. I was just chatting with a friend over the weekend that the number of mass market large size sedan available here can be counted with just 2 hands (10 fingers). Chevrolet Malibu Citroen C5 Ford Mondeo Honda Accord Hyundai Sonata Kia Optima K5 / Magentis Mazda 6 Mitsubishi Galant Nissan Teana Opel Insignia Peugeot 508 Renault Latitude / Talisman Skoda Superb Subaru Legacy Suzuki Kizashi Toyota Camry VW Passat The same can be said for compact & mid size MPV as well. Citroen C4 Picasso Daihatsu Extol Ford C-Max Honda Mobilio Honda Stream Hyundai Trajet Kia Carens Mazda 5 Mitsubishi Dion Nissan Lafesta Opel Zafira Peugeot 5008 Proton Exora Renault Grand Scenic Subaru Exiga Suzuki APV Toyota Wish Toyota Prius+ Toyota Sienta VW Touran
  22. Hi all! I had just got a stebel magnum horn fix into my Trajet (by Sin kit). They did not use the given relay. Is this ok?
  23. here's how the stock snokel located, inside the left wheel arch (inside the left bumper area) with the snokel facing the wheel
  24. any of u jet owners out there suffered this symtoms... i gotta stop once to cool down my brake when i begin downhill journey. the brake went spongy and ineefective 10 min into my decents. perhaps the oem brakepad heat limit is low. there were only 3 of us in the car tho. i know the jet weight is heavy and all but 10- 15 mins of downhill??
  25. To all those jeters, do you find your rear springs too bouncy when there's no passenger on board? Or is it my car only? Can things like Spiltfire spring adjuster helps?
