  1. Just interested since based on other threads that the opinion is split. Let see the proportion.
  2. http://youtu.be/jtGLVAKQb78 Video tells it all but silly driver still have the cheek to kpkb and bi kah bi chiu KNS
  3. To the RED Totoyta VIOS running on ECP on the 30th Nov at 7+pm. You want to drive like a hell driver tailgate, and over take and jam brakes darn go far far away... Your bloody sense of driving is endangering other drivers on the road. SHP2517Z think this is the car plate number... Bloody punster, 20-30+ Chinese fat guy wearing glasses filter also never signal, cut lane still jam brakes... You want gangnam style you go other place and do it, bloody jam still doing tail gating... http://youtu.be/aj4N8ZqWu38 http://youtu.be/dDksR9UMx8c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKkxiEsvRys...eature=youtu.be
  4. Rules are there. People just take it lightly. Luckily I was slowed and distanced away. This Vios had brake out of a sudden and signal, before making an illegal turn. [shakehead]
  5. Hi, which will be worth, low maintenance buy to drive till scarp?
  6. Out of these 3 models, I'm looking at 2009-2010 models I wish to downgrade my 2.0L Impreza Hatchback due to.... Low Usage, only 39K Mileage, 2years+ Have a 1yo baby now (boot space very cramp with pram) Rearseat also cramp with Baby seat and also don't intend to spend so much on car now as want to plan for 2nd baby. My first 2 choices were Honda City and Airwave but looking at VIOS also cause resale value seems like in future, in the event if i need to change car due to car problem/family, it will be able to fetch more than Honda right? Or should I keep my current car? Kindly advise, tia!
  7. I was on the 2nd lane driving leisurely at 70kmh after a dinner night out...I saw you suddenly appearing beside me...can see your handsome face with your chio gf looking at me la...my windows were winded down and I could hear your loud loud exhaust...the next thing you let me hear was your psst psst sound from your Blow-off valve indicating to me that your Vios is equipped with a turbo (how big or small I dunno la) Then you gave me a smile and then quickly slowed down and came behind my car...could hear you kp revving your engine and letting me hear your HKS SQV BOV sound...your distance was so close to me that I think I can even see your shiny white teeth. Maybe you think my humble little Rex is a TS poser due to my (stock bodykit and stock exhaust) or you were dying to show off to your gf that your car can makan any cars...whatever the reason, even if you makan me for breakfast, lunch and dinner I also don't care cos my stomach is still digesting the large amount of food that I had devoured only 15min ago and also not interested to play any stupid games with you...at least not on our Singapore roads. In the end, I let you tailgate me at 70kmh for the next 10min or so....until I think you bui tahan and zoomed past me with a black face...sry to disappoint you mate! Pls la...wanna prove something, go prove it on the track la. And btw, your plastic-looking GT wing looks rather ugly...imho... Anyone has similar encounters before? Not the first time for me though.
  8. Hi all, if given the above 3 2nd hand cars and same year of registration (either 07, 08 or 09), which will you choose and why? Please help. Thanks...
  9. the creato and forte are much cheaper than vios and altis. moreover the equipment spec list is very impressive compared to the toyotas. why do people still buy vios/altis when the korean brands are offering something better? i would like to see avante and forte overtake the toyotas in terms of sales.
  10. Drove both yesterday. This is my review. I'm no pro and I dont pretend to be one. Dont mean to hurt any feelings here so pls spare me the flaming. Test drove two cars yesterday cos my dad is changing car. Since he drives about 80km per day, i suggested that he pay the premium for a more fuel efficient car since esso 95 is already hitting $1.80 Toyota Vios 1.5E $54998 The car's styling is refreshing and the nose resembles the Camry. The old vios' boot curved in where the tail light assembly was and made it difficult to load bigger items such as suitcases. Glad that they have ironed out these little kinks. The aircon knob assembly leaves more to be desired. It looks like a toy which has a label '3 yrs and up', very plasticky. The interior is black, not to my liking as I have begun to prefer bright interiors. However my dad likes it cos he hardly keeps the interior clean. But the dark interior makes the vios look smaller than it really is but I'm glad it's a colour one can deal with, unlike my friend's 95 civic which was dark blue inside! The interior is cramped, but the vios was designed to be slim. 3 in the rear can be a tad uncomfortable even with the flat floor without that protruding hump for the exhaust to run through. The driver's leg area was too cramped for my liking. My left foot seemed too uncomfortably close to my brake! I guess someone forgot the footrest for the left foot! The ride was horrible. I felt like the steering wheel was connected to a group of monkeys who then had the axle connected to their arse! No feedback from the steering wheel whatsoever. I got more feedback from driving a Tamiya RC! It felt a tad bit worse than my dad's Colt, which I felt was the main drawback of the Colt, zesty engine but with a ride fit for a girl! The FC was decent, 12km/l as stated by the SE and corroborated by most on MCF. Service from the SE was a bit better than I got last year but I'm super pissed that he quoted the monthly payment wrongly, $598 instead of the correct $698. I verified this only this morning. Not a mistake which can be taken lightly. He was also in a rush to go do something else. Typical of Borneo Motors. Honda City IDSI 7CVT $60800 The car's styling is dated, even for a facelifted model. I found no visible differences in this model and the original from 2003. I test drove this car in 2005 and due to the lack of available stock for the IDSI, my sis bought the swift instead. With age and the lack of the thrill for speed, I have different views about the test drive this time around. The car has the same boring interior as the FIT/JAZZ and I can only find one word to describe the whole dashboard, confusing. The Vios had a much simpler design and looked more modern. The City had a beige interior, making it look brighter but the weird LEDs just made the car look possessed. Other than that, it was less plasticky than the Vios as the designers took time to hide the plastic in various ways. The interior was also physically more spacious although it lacked the flat floor which I felt should be standard in a car designed to roam the streets of Bangkok, placked with everyone including your Singaporean maid. The boot was cavernous! A WHOPPING 500L! Which means we can kill my entire family and dump their bodies inside while leaving space for my maid's dismembered legs. However the car lacked the ability to fold it's seats, a function which only the VTEC had. The IDSI has drawers under the seats instead. The VTEC can have the backrests folded down or the seats folded up like in the cinema! Way cool! The ride was comfortable and the steering was more responsive than the Vios. There were no monkeys attached to the steering wheel this time, other than the monkey driving it. It was in fact a much better ride than the Vios, for sure, despite the Vios being a 2nd generation model. I asked what the 7 speed manual mode was for. "For fun", the SE replied. With a touch of a button, old farts can think they are mikey shoemaker and fiddle with the + and - buttons on the steering wheel, shifting gears up and down. I got bored of the contraption in 2 minutes. If I wanted a manual, I'd have gotten one. It's quite hard to concentrate on driving and the buttons for a first timer although I'm sure there will be loads of fun once you get the hang of driving this contraption which is designed for anyone 50 and above. After considering the two and the potential owner, I recommended the City. Based on function, fuel consumption and cost, these two were the only ones I'd suggest at this stage. But based on drive comfort, passenger comfort and the added plus point of being able to murder more than half of my family and drive off with their bodies, I picked the City. Both are cars meant for the budget concious and risk adverse. The Vios had a younger feel, altho not that young. Both had equally shitty safety ratings and looked like they were welded together with a cigarette lighter. The City looked like it was meant for a man who was generally at least 10 yrs older than the Vios owner but for two cars which were never designed to be fun to drive in the first place, the Vios seemed to want to display this quality more. Although anyone looking at the City from outside would imagine a sticker saying 'old fart inside', once you are oblivious to your surroundings, you can have two ounces of fun, something the Vios clearly lacks. In conclusion, I can only hope that Hindu beliefs have a bit of truth and that if you are good in this lifetime, you will be reborn into a better family in your next. I have been pretty good. So pls all you Hindu gods with multiple hands and heads, can I please be reborn into a family whereby my dad asks me to test drive something better than two hunks of junk! At least a VW Bora! Please! So I trodded off to Kah Motor's car park and climbed into a bigger hunk of junk, my 06 Rio and drove off. Why must a car enthusiast like me be born in Singkapore?
  11. forget about scanguage or onboard FC meters... cause if not set properly, it aint accurate... forget about Manufacturer's FC claims... cause test done in totally different enviroment, loads, tyres, and ofcourse fuel... but nevertheless, we all know Vios is known for its low FC... ofcourse... 1.5liters mah... but we also know Vios as very quick... the manual one can easily do a 0-100km/h in 10sec or less... so how come so fast yet FC pretty good? cause light mah... well i have driven the 1st gen Vios manual some years back... upside- quick... good FC... nimble... dwnside- small and crampy... stock suspension is good and stiff yet comfortable but high... lowered and even a 195/15/50 will kanna fender when full turn... but over all nice to drive... well you all know my ah pek sunny is in the hospital with servere head injuries... so i have been driving this latest Vios J model auto... back drum brakes... i pump full to the brim until no more back flow... the 1st bar drops at 140click... i was like wow... then half tank was ard 360 click wow.... but starting flashing at 460... ???? worse than my sunny manual... both our tanks almost same size... at least the amout filled about the same $70 over bucks to brim from flashing... and also when i compare the vios 100km/h on the speedo to the gps, the car is faster on its meter by almost 10km/h... which means maybe the mileage gain is even less? so does it make sense if any car on the road has a speedo that reads about 10km/h faster than it is, the FC will APPEAR to be better? mileage will seem more? cause my ah pek sunny when speedo reads 100km/h its only like 5km/h faster than the gps... and i am using slighty bigger tyres (in diameter) than stock... but then i guess there are simply too many factors to factor in... highway/load/tyre pressure/heavy light foot/auto/manual/tyre/engine vocosity... just happy cause i heard a frd's sunny auto 5years his sunny full tank to light only 280km... omg like EVO sia..
  12. hi bros, anyone who is the owner or knows the owner of the above vios can contact me? i need his assistance in some matter..thanks alot...my number is 91996381 Justin..
  13. Travelled along West Cost Rd toward West Cast Mall this morning & suddenly this Vios seen travelled from West Coast Walk intentionally (With "Y" junction & white continuous line & arrow in placed -had checked & confirmed). Drove by an male Indian looks like new PR or Foreign Talent (FT) with "P" plates on windscreens as if he though can short cut for heading towards West Coast Highway towards ECP via opposite direction (He though he is in India can drove in such manner)
  14. New VIOS in Singapore??? Anyone saw it or any photo? New facelift???
  15. I can't decide. Any bros here done this?
  16. Borneo aims to sell over 4,500 Vios this year By C Y Chew - April 4, 2007 The Business Times It looks like a mini-Corolla Altis and there is now an additional variant in the range, so it's not surprising to hear that 400 of the all-new Toyota Vios models have been sold since authorised distributor Borneo Motors started taking orders in early March. The second-generation Vios was officially launched here last Friday with three different grades - a new entry-level J grade, plus E and G. All cars will be equipped with ABS and at least one airbag. The new Vios is also larger in all aspects than its predecessor and its 50mm longer wheelbase provides increased cabin space and a flat rear floor. As a result, Borneo Motors hopes the new Vios will expand its already impressive customer base. Over 6,500 units were sold last year and half of the new orders collected so far have been from people who have previously bought a Vios. The Vios is the spiritual successor of the Toyota Soluna, the first Thai-made car to be sold in Singapore. More than 445,000 units have been sold worldwide since it was launched in 2002. Since then, Toyota vehicles made in Thailand have steadily gained acceptance among Singaporeans, and according to Toyota's assistant chief engineer Yasuharu Akigawa, quality is first-rate. 'Perhaps five to 10 years ago, Thailand might not have had the same assembly technology, but today the quality of Thai-made automobiles is definitely on a par with Japanese-made vehicles,' he says. All the Thai-made cars for Asean markets are still developed in Japan before being 'localised' at Toyota Technological Centre Asia-Pacific. 'The Vios was designed from the start as a stand-alone vehicle,' Mr Akigawa says, through his translator. 'Yes, it shares a similar platform with the Toyota Yaris but it was developed as an independent vehicle from day one and not adapted from the Yaris platform.' He says it is Toyota's aim that all models destined for Asean will eventually be manufactured in Thailand and that while there are no plans to export these vehicles back to Japan, cars like the Vios are already being sold in territories like Australia and the Middle East. Pricing for the Toyota Vios starts at $49,000 and Borneo Motors hopes to sell over 4,500 cars in the rest of this year. Last year, the Toyota Vios was Singapore's fourth best-selling car - behind the Mitsubishi Lancer, Nissan Sunny and the best-seller Toyota Corolla Altis. Except for 2006, the Vios had always been the third most popular model in Singapore since it was introduced here in January 2003. When asked why the model was being replaced after only a relatively short time, Mr Akigawa says: 'A five-year shelf life is normal.'

  18. The driver walk out with minor injuries. Luckily there was no passenger.
  19. Hi guys. Had sent my car for painting last week and had rented a Toyota Vios for 10 days. Noticed that the tyre noise is very loud. Above 60 kph, e noise is already v intrusive. Checked the tires, they seemed to be in good condition. Yoko a drive. Maybe the tyres have yet to be rotated. The car is quite impressive. V zippy when compared to my car. Only prob I have is that the seats are not really that comfortable. Get tired aft long drives. But the fc is really fantastic. Full tank gave me 510 km before the last bar started blinking. Just like to hear the feedback from others. Many have said how the car is not that good. Personally, I think its good bang for the buck.
  20. Was in JB last nite to scout for good retreat for my church and do some shoppings, car was full load wif 5pax. On the way out of CIQ jb about 11.10pm wif heavy thunder storm, I was the first car into the filter lane, you were blasting your farking horn like no tomorrow, you cant even wait till I fully filter out den you can go and crash yourself into any of the railings you want. Your next life you will still be driving a red plate, dude, damm lucky you can still survive going into jb wif this farkup attitude. Hope you are reading this, cos when queuing at Sg side you were just one lane next to mine you specky asshxle. No need to post your lic no. here, I guess as well you are just one of those who cant even own a normal plate car, trying to save abit of petrol $$$, rushing to hell to get some sleep and take bus/mrt to work in the morning.
