hi guys i am getting a 2nd hand car as my first car but i am not sure which to get? viso old gen better or new gen better? CS3 alot ppl say the timing belt always got prob like lose or want start cold engin will have sound.. for hyundai avante are they relible? btw i am getting a MT car.. my buget around 40k++ need bro out here to give me some advise thx alot!!

Today on the way home around 8plus pm at SLE. Meet a stupid P Plate Driver. Drive slowly in the middle lane. Is fine for me. I will not disturb u and up to u wanna drive how fast. I keep left and wanna over take this vehicle SJC 7700C. He accelerate. And slow down to continue driving very slow and causin me to jam brake. Is alright for me if u wanna have a leisure driving. But you have to think that you are not road hogging other vehicle that are rushing for time. Please keep extreme left and have ur own sweat time. Is a very childish act u have done.

Saw your car traveling in Tampines with headlights on but without rear lights. Probably your rear lights were not working. You may want to check if your fuse blown and have it rectified. If any bros or sis know anyone driving above vehicle, please inform the owner who may be unaware of the non working rear lights. Happy driving!

Yesterday, saw this road bully on AYE/ECP at the Marina area. Speed limit at 70km/hr and he was travelling at first lane behind a cab. Speed of the cab driver was around 80km/hr at the straights and about slightly less then 70km/hrs at the bends. Guess what this idiot did? Overtook at lane 2 and back to lane 1 infront of the cab depressing brakes to 60km/hr or even slower. And the actions he did for a road hogger (cab) is slowing others down and I was few cars behind him and took the 2nd lane and side by side with him. He was looking at the rear mirror at the cab like "come, lets see u fast or I am faster". Driver's age less then 25 I suppose with high wings, stickers by the side with name and blood type. 2 wrong actions doesnt means a correct one. I overtook the vios and went up the brigde and I am like "live and let live ah". After a while, I was held up by some traffic and the vios after having fun with the cab caught up with me at the camera. Then he starts tail-gating me as I was stuck behind a SUV at the camera. fyi, the camera had is only active towards the Jurong directions and so many are slowing to 70km/hr at 1st lane. Then I am doing the 3rd wrong action, dropped gear changed 2 lanes to lane 3, overtook the SUV and was so way infront of them. Travelling at 105km/hr, the vios caught up with me at Bedok tailgating me once again..... I gave way to lane 2 and back to lane 1 after he pass and he filter off to Siplap. I went my way. In my words he is a road bully. Everyone gets old and judgement for older driver is slower. Uncle is taking a corner with thin tires and with passages in car. And also, Taxi companies do not take care of their rental cabs so their tires are not those grippy ones and using such thin tires. Wanna play, play with someone bigger in size then yours!

Or the hearsay fuel economy of the aging VVTi engine? Are Toyotas overpriced? The savings (cheaper raw material, rental and labour) from the Thai assembly plant are not passed on to customers!

Hi, Is there any vios drivers out there who finds the road noise (i.e. noise from below) of vios very annoying? I personally do find my vios having relatively high road noise but I find it bearable. It's my colleague, whom I always have outside lunch with, who always make bad comments about vios having unbearable high road noise. I think his threshold of road noise is lower than an average person. So would like to hear from those who drive a vios or ride in a vios as passenger, any comment about vios road noise. Also, hope that any vios owner out there, who have improved their road noise level, to share their experience and recommendation on improving the road noise for vios.

from the forum almost all Allion 1.5 owners declared their rides easily achive 17 to 18km/l in Singapore road condition if Allion 1.5 and vios share same engine, and Allion 1.5 body weight is much higher than vios, how come vios can't achive such better FC

guys, i need advise, for the past 3 days, whenever i cold start my vios, RPM will be erratic. normally, it will rev till approx 1.8k to warm the engine oil and will slowly reduce RPM once it is sufficiently warmed approx 2 mins. now, it is NOT reving when i start it and it will be slowly reving upwards approx 100rpm at a time, and all of sudden shoot to 2k and come down abruptly. meaning to say that the engine is reving it heart out and idling almost at the same time. any one know what is wrong with it. thanks in advance

Might be getting a 2nd hand 1st generation vios cos need a reliable car wif good FC, easy maintenance and cheap spare parts. vios should be it. can any 1st gen vios owners give any advice on what to check out for when testing/viewing it? probably a Toyota Vios 1.5E abt 3.5yrs old. MUST be Auto for wife to drive too. wat r the drawbacks of this car? appreciate all help!

recently bought a red Vios from a 2nd hand dealer.. the car is 4 year old.. this is my first car which is a Auto gear car.. previously during learning. all the while was using manual car.. I realise there is some issue with the brake can anyone advice.. 1) 80% of the times when the car stop & i pull the handbrake at the traffic junction.. there is a "grrrrrr" sound. 2) during driving when i step on the footbrake sometimes i feel there is a obstruction on the brake, like there is a opposing force prevent me from stepping on the brake. Therefore i like to ask if it's normal tat way in a Autogear Vios car or isit my brake facing some problems?

Just encountered an brainless driver bout half hour ago on the way home. Was going up the flyover after Potong Pasir towards Kovan. Was on the right of a 2 lane road going up the flyover. This Vios was tailgating me up the bridge, i was blocked by a cab so i got no choice but to just follow behind, as the cab was also not able to give way to me due to the traffic on the left. Credit to the cab who was in front of me, he gave way immediately when the left is clear. I proceed to accelerate hard and gain some space from the Vios who has been tailgating me. I then proceed to keep left. Short moment later, this vios came fast and attempted to side swipe me when i am already in the left lane. I managed to catch a short glimspe of the couple in the vehicle towards the end of the flyover when all vehicles are slowing down. Young guy with long sleeve shirt, lady on the passenger seat was giggling. Maybe they found what they did funny? or maybe its their own unrelated joke.. i dunno. My question is, i did not do anything to offend the driver, i did not road hog and i drive a small stock saloon. So why did this driver try to play punk?.. to impress? Really cannot understand..
