  1. The new Audi Q6 e-tron (not to be confused with the larger 7 seater version for Chinese market) marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. With a new platform, electronics architecture, charging and battery technology, as well as a pioneering design for Audi, the Q6 e-tron paves the way to Audi's all-electric future. It is the first production model based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This makes the all-electric SUV with its new E3 1.2 electronic architecture the new reference for Vorsprung durch Technik. With the Q6 e-tron series, e-mobility is coming from the Ingolstadt plant for the first time. The Q6 e-tron will compete directly with BMW upcoming iX3, which is built on a dedicated platform for Vision Neue Klasse X. Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro S Line Audi SQ6 e-tron
  2. Uncle was probably driving himself to the centre to meet his friends, and he ended up almost meeting God instead. What happened? On 14 April 2023, a 77 year old man crashed his Audi A3 into the Kolam Ayer Senior Citizens’ Centre at Block 44 Sims Drive. Pictures of the incident were sent to The Straits Times, and we can see the front of the A3 wedged between the doorway, and that the impact has damaged the building. Chunks of the doorway were knocked out where the car hit the centre. A spokesman from Kolam Ayer Community Club told The Straits Times that the centre was not open at the time of the incident, and there was nobody inside. Uncle might want to check for dementia right about now. Both the police and Civil Defence Force were alerted to the accident at about 11.20, and the SCDF took the driver to the hospital who was luckily, conscious. I do find it weird the car was able to accelerate so fast it made enough force to take a chunk out of the doorway, which means uncle has a heavy foot or thought it was the brake somehow. Online chatter Some of the jokes made were morbid, but good enough to forget about it and laugh. Others used this as an example to prevent the elderly from driving on account of their degraded motor skills and reflexes. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. Hello, as title states - I'm currently deciding which car to get and I'm interested in which option would you guys pick and why?
  6. TL;DR - A speeding Audi A4 driver knocks down a motorcyclist and pillion before driving away. The driver eventually gets arrested for suspected drink driving. Drink-driving cases in Singapore are on the rise after our nations battle with Covid-19. Source: Singapore Police Force PDF report While people are getting more brazen post-covid, it takes a very special kind of human to speed, hit another vehicle and run away... WHILE DRUNK (at friggin 8am in the morning) Watch this 47-second shocker of a video. So what happened? The cam car caught the A4 speeding (way over the limit, that’s for sure) and colliding into a motorcyclist and pillion, sending them off the bike. Several road users rushed to help the injured but the culprit did not bother to stop and instead, fled the scene. According to the caption, the driver was eventually apprehended and arrested for suspected drink driving. Drink driving carries a heavy penalty in Singapore. In fact, to deter anyone else from drink driving, we even have a colleague who got caught drink driving and wrote about his experience! The consequence doesn't sound fun at all. With my civic duty done, let's look at some nasty comments shall we? Online Chatter Lots of nasty and angry comments made as expected. Folks, always remember: No matter how good your alcohol tolerance is, the immediate effect makes it extremely dangerous to engage in any activity requiring skill, attention and coordinated movements. That includes driving! Don’t put the lives of yourself and others in danger by drink-driving. Call a cab or a valet and get home safe. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  7. There are various meanings behind tailgating or "poking" another motorist. In general, it is used to show displeasure towards a motorist who is "road hogging" lane 1 of an expressway and telling him to move to a slower lane, or to "jio" someone to race. Watch this video of an Audi S3 who decided to "poke" and tailgate a Honda Accord Euro R to show his displeasure: What Happened? Two drivers of an Audi S3 and a Honda Accord Euro R got into an online dispute over a misunderstanding. The dispute started when the Audi S3 intended to overtake the Euro R (cam car) from the left, only to be blocked by the Euro R, who switched to the left lane simultaneously, intending to let the Audi S3 pass him. After misunderstanding the Euro R driver's intention, the Audi driver decided to "poke" and tailgate the Honda driver to show his displeasure. However, the Honda driver kept his cool and minded his business, while the Audi driver continued driving aggressively, creating a tense atmosphere between both drivers. Subsequently, after the incident, the Euro R driver took to social media and called out the Audi S3 driver for his behaviour earlier on, which he felt endangered the safety of both drivers, the Euro R driver's kids and other motorists around them. Read it here: Haiz. Incidents like the above give the car community/car enthusiast a bad reputation, whether intentional or not. Netizens' Comments Sad eh. Next time want style up own car also need think twice liao. 9. Does the title of this article sound absurd? Well, it is what it is. Watch the video here: What Happened? According to the lady in the golf attire (dashcam driver), she was at a red light several hundred metres away when the accident unfolded right before her eyes. An Audi Q7 performed an illegal U-turn and collided with a motorcyclist. Once the traffic light turned green, she immediately drove up to the accident scene, turned on her hazard light and positioned her car to block off oncoming vehicles. Meanwhile, the Audi Q7 driver was already attending to the injured motorcyclist. When the lady approached the injured motorcyclist to check on his well-being, the Audi driver allegedly scolded her and told her to "mind her own business" and "go for your golf". Also, he behaved aggressively toward the lady (Which can be seen evidently in the video). Just then, another female passerby came up and asked if she should call an ambulance, to which the lady in the golf attire replied yes. Moments later, the Audi driver attempted to move the damaged motorcycle, but the lady in golf attire stopped him (not captured on dashcam). What's with the Audi driver's sus behaviour? What are your thoughts on this incident? Let me know in the comments below! Netizens' Comments WELL.... At least he knows that he is in the wrong😆 Well said! What's the point of behaving so aggressively in such a situation? 10. Transcab taxi drivers are notorious for their driving behaviour among the various taxi companies. It is an impression that the public has developed over time, which I couldn't agree more. Here's why: Warning: This video contains excessive flashing lights. If you have photosensitive epilepsy, please do not watch the video What Happened? In the TikTok video posted by the cam bike, a Transcab taxi furiously chases an Audi A6 down an expressway. From the cam bike's speedometer, the Transcab taxi and the Audi A6's speed was approximately 100km/h or above. While pursuing the Audi A6, the Transcab repeatedly flashes his high beam at the A6 for a prolonged period. The taxi driver's flashing rate was so fast that he might as well have turned on his high beam. NGL, regardless of what may have happened off-cam, the Transcab driver's actions suggest that he was itching for a fight with the Audi driver. Lane 4 Is The New Lane 1 With all this unnecessary drama and 'road hogging' on lane 1, a black car (who obviously couldn't give two shits) tore down lane 4 of the expressway at high speed. Judging from the cam bike's speedometer, I am not surprised if the black car was travelling at 120km/h or faster. Netizens' Comments 🤷‍♂️ Here you go! Just leaving this here for context. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  11. Wet dream for wagon lover... The Avant E-Tron shares the same dimensions as the earlier A6 Sportback E-Tron Concept. Both are 4.96 meters long, 1.96 meters wide, and 1.44 meters tall. The difference is in the rear styling where the Avant has a more angular roof to make room for the larger cargo area. The result of this sleek look is a 0.24 drag coefficient, versus 0.22 for the Sportback. The A6 Avant E-Tron Concept rides on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which is also underneath the forthcoming Q6 E-Tron crossover. It has an electric motor turning each axle for a total output of 469 horsepower (350 kilowatts) and 800 Newton-meters of torque. Audi isn't disclosing the exact battery capacity but indicates the figure is around 100 kilowatt-hours. The 800-volt, 270-kilowatt recharging capacity allows for getting 300 kilometers of WLTP range within as little as 10 minutes. Less than 25 minutes is necessary to take the pack from 5 to 80 percent. Depending on the powertrain, the production A6 Avant E-Tron would be able to reach 100 kilometers per hour in less than seven seconds or as quick as "well under four seconds" for high-performance models, according to the company's announcement. A rear-drive version of the electric A6 Avant would be capable of 700 kilometers on a charge.
  12. Tyres are important to any vehicle because they are the sole point of contact between the road and your vehicle. Regardless of the type of tyre equipped, it is always important to drive prudently and refrain from speeding, especially during wet weather conditions. Watch what befalls this speeding Audi on a rainy day: Location The incident location is on the ECP towards KPE (ECP) at exit 14. The image below is what the area looks like during good weather. What Happened? An Audi TT was travelling on lane 1 of ECP at a relatively high speed while it was raining. Due to its speed and the wet road conditions, the Audi sports car lost traction to its wheels, causing it to aquaplane. Within seconds, it spun out of control - it slid across the expressway, from lane one to the last lane. Just when it was about to smash into the railings, the Audi TT gained some traction in its wheels and seemingly executed a well-performed J-turn (out of pure luck). Miraculously, the Audi TT emerged unharmed - WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH. The Audi driver probably used up his entire year's worth of luck. Netizens' Comments Confirm shrink one. I am not surprised if he stops driving after this traumatic experience. NGL, this is the fastest way I have seen someone exit an expressway. How fast do y'all think he was going? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  13. Last week, the viral Bentley driver incident made us wonder about the association between rich people and their obnoxious behaviour. This week, we get a Mercedes driver who possesses similar obnoxious qualities. Watch the video here: What Happened? This road rage-induced incident occurred in the vicinity of private estates at Kovan Road. A Mercedes driver who wanted to turn right into an apartment estate took a grudge against an Audi driver who was going straight and had the right of way. As the Mercedes driver started filling with rage, he alighted from his car to confront the Audi driver while impeding its way. The Mercedes driver started shouting and gesturing wildly to the Audi driver while not wearing any face mask. It can be observed that the Audi driver had wound down the window, most likely to respond to the Mercedes driver's confrontation. Just then, the Mercedes driver took a few steps back as matters seemed to cool down. At the next moment, the Mercedes driver took a gradual leap forward and landed a 'flying punch' right in the Audi driver's face before walking away. NGL, the Audi driver deserves mad respect for doing the right thing by keeping his cool and not retaliating. Living Under A Rock Do you know what grinds my gears? Someone's audacity to think they can get away with it after committing a blatant, unlawful act. The Mercedes driver must be thinking that he still lives in the 1960s when he was 'young and dangerous', before the existence of technology. Well, jokes on him - With the existence of dashcams and social media, his unlawful act will not go unnoticed. Netizens' Comments Tell me about it. Do you know how many videos I have come across that had no head or tail??? Was this what people did back in the day when the yellow box was non-existent? LOL. 14. https://www.torque.com.sg/features/shaping-the-future-with-audi-design/ In a decade, Audi claims that the company will go 'fully electric' as the world moves forth in its quest for environmental stewardship and climate sustainability. This ambitious goal will make the brand industry pioneers of a new generation of automobiles. With a new skysphere concept, Audi aims to create vehicles that can physically transform themselves to fit the driver. An SUV might be able to shorten its wheelbase and lower itself to make it more agile in tight spaces. While this concept looks and sounds cool (like something out of a sci-fi film), is it truly enough to fulfill the futuristic vision that the brand has? What are your thoughts on this?
  15. An Audi driver blocks a red Transcab and attempts to fight with the taxi driver. In this video, a cam car travels down a quiet area in Teban Garden Crescent. A grey Audi and a red taxi were travelling side by side in front of him. Upon closer inspection, the Audi driver seemed to be chasing the taxi. After going through a speed hump, the grey car managed to catch up with the red cab and slotted itself right in front of the vehicle. The driver then stopped his car, which forced the taxi driver to do the same. As the cam car got closer to both vehicles, the Audi driver stepped out of his car as the taxi driver slowly reversed. Attempting to flee the scene, the cab driver paid no attention to the raging Audi driver. When he realized that the taxi would not stop, the angry man latched onto the taxi’s front passenger door. The door then opens as the cab hurridly escapes the confrontation. The video ends with the Audi driver getting back into his vehicle after his road rage incident. While we are still unsure of the specifics of this incident, road rage is a severe offence in Singapore. Offenders will face a fine of up to $5,000, a jail term of up to 2 years and can be disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver’s license for life. No records found for Audi driver While trying to search for the model of the vehicle, we stumbled onto an interesting find. After entering the car plate number into LTA's Road Tax Enquiry search engine, we were surprised to find out that the number does not exist at all. This is a little too suspicious, don't you think? 🤔 Netizens’ reactions Even the fiercest tiger road ragers will turn into a meek little cat after a session with the police. Yep, I agree. This video only shows the aftermath of an incident and not the whole situation. 16. Have you ever had to carry your family’s groceries in one trip after they have been on an NTUC run? Usually, it takes two or three trips (with a trolley) to haul back all of the plastic bags but every once in a while, your parents might hit you with the “It’s fine. It’s not that heavy. You can carry all of them back with your hands.”. While you try your best to balance the hefty weight on your arms, your body might feel like it’s going to burst any second. Well, that’s what happened with this truck. On Saturday (4 Dec), a cam car caught the moment when the rear tailgate of a truck suddenly broke off the vehicle on the expressway. After snapping off, the heavy tailgate cartwheeled across the road, hitting the side of a white Audi TT. While the rest of the truck was encased by a cloud of soil, the cam car immediately came to a halt after witnessing the horrific hit. The cam driver hopes that his video will assist the white Audi TT in making an insurance claim for any damages done. How did this happen? Although this was not the first time we heard of a vehicle getting hit by some random part of another vehicle, incidents like this should not be a common occurrence. Last week, a tyre fell from a different truck and hit another vehicle on the PIE. While there were no injuries reported, the scene of a flying tyre is more than enough to traumatize a driver. Even though there are no solid details on what happened in this video, netizens were quick to speculate several possibilities. The first was that the truck driver failed to maintain his vehicle correctly and did not perform the necessary checks to ensure that his truck was safe to drive. The other possibility was that the load of soil that the truck was carrying was too heavy, resulting in the tailgate's sudden breakage. While we might not know for sure how this happened, we’re glad that nobody was severely injured from this potentially deadly incident. 17. Imagine it is the weekend, and all you want is to get some rest in your peaceful, quiet and comfortable house before the workweek starts. BUT NO. In the distance, you hear a low, noisy exhaust burbling sound coming from downstairs your block. And this is what you see: What's the first thought that comes to your mind? Frustration? Anger? Disappointment? You tell me. What Happened? Apparently, this frustrated Bedok resident managed to take a video of this rowdy Audi driver that has constantly disturbed the estate's peace. From afar or a single glance, the car's quad exhaust makes it appear as though the driver is driving an RS3, S3, or even a "Quattro tuned" Audi Sportback. If it were any of those cars, the noisy exhaust would have been understandable. But wait, here comes the twist: That "sports car" is none other than a 1-litre A3 Sportback. Putting Things Into Perspective The Audi A3 1-Litre Sportback has 114BHP and 200 Nm of torque, with 9.9 seconds for its 0 - 100km/h timing. And the fact that a noisy aftermarket exhaust is equipped to this ordinary car definitely poses as an annoyance to Bedok residents. Worse still, it pops and bangs even when its speed is <20km/h. So do you think this Audi A3 has an illegal or LTA approved exhaust? Do you think his exhaust system is "operated"? Netizens' Comments Sooner or later his car sure kena tow to the workshop. What's the point of stretching a 1-Litre engine to its limit? Damn, that escalated quickly. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow transfer for every submission we publish on Facebook! 18. S’pore Man’s Audi Becomes Expensive Whiteboard After Kids Write ‘I Love Papa’ On It Now it's just some Audi that he used to know. https://mustsharenews.com/audi-expensive-whiteboard/ Man Showcases New Audi ‘Paint Job’ After Kids Write & Draw On It Like An Expensive Whiteboard A parent’s love for their child is unrivalled but it can definitely be a challenge to have kids at times. Many kids love to draw, but sometimes their zealous love of art can lead to them drawing on some inappropriate places. On Sunday (14 Nov), a man shared a TikTok video of how his kids decided to use his white Audi as an expensive whiteboard, writing and drawing on it. One of the messages written on the car was ‘I love Papa’, prompting netizens to joke that it’ll be hard for the man to stay mad at his children. Children treat Audi as expensive whiteboard Children love to express themselves by drawing and scribbling around. But this can sometimes get out of hand as the man found out when his kids left him a ‘masterpiece’ by doodling on his luxury white Audi car. In the video showcasing his newly decorated car, there were drawings of what appears to be My Little Pony characters on the car bonnet. We can’t miss what appears to be a doodled Audi logo as well, which oozes big “Audi at home” energy. Just beside it, his children left him an adorable heartfelt message that said, “I <3 Papa”. It was even embellished with lots of hearts and ‘xoxo’, symbolising hugs and kisses. Not leaving out any part of the car, just above the wheel, his kids also drew several patterns in black and purple. Children drew family portrait including car On the side, his children appeared to have drawn a family portrait, complete with a house and funnily — a car. We assume the car represents the Audi since it’s depicted with the same hood. That was not all. Near the back of the car were another drawing of cars, a flower, a house, and some clouds. His children then left a nice finishing touch by writing ‘Teo Family’ to sign off. A quick look through the man’s TikTok account reveals that he is a car enthusiast, frequently showcasing various luxury cars in his videos. In this particular video, the man had hilariously written the caption, “What happens when you have kids”. Netizens think car decoration is wholesome The man’s video had since gone viral, garnering almost 600,000 views and 65,000 likes at the time of writing. Many netizens found his children’s heartfelt scribbles funny yet wholesome. Some said that the ‘custom paint job’ actually looked good and suggested that he kept it that way. Others joked that with how sweet his children were being through their drawings, scolding them will be a difficult task. Another netizen said his children really treated his white Audi like an expensive whiteboard, filling it with scribbles and drawings. A priceless paint job We can’t imagine how the man reacted to having his beloved Audi redecorated for him against his will. But as most parents can relate, children can often be infuriatingly adorable with their playful antics. One thing’s for sure — this paint job is a priceless one.
  19. I love Audi! But am disappointed with the way they are approaching the market in terms of sales of their new cars. Last month I headed to their showroom to test drive their A5 SB, love the way the car looks, the luxurious feel of the interior, I was quite sold on it before I even took it for a test drive. However, the car felt okay only with the FWD, not as responsive as another German competitor though, the handling didn’t feel as good too when I compared the two, seems slightly underpowered which I believe had to do with the VES policy thus causing the suppressed tuning of the engine. Then we talked numbers and my eyes grew larger as I was pleasantly surprised with the high OT offer until we spoke about the add-ons which included having to purchase a package for servicing but what was a deal breaker was that I found out the car does not include front collision prevention system and some other stuff which I feel should be quite standard these days especially for $220K+ car. Almost everything can be included as an option which when calculated in, it is higher than the competition. I guess it’s dangle the carrot with lower list price first and let the customer decide (or got shocked) what they want to include. No wonder why their showroom is so much more quiet as compared to their 2 newest German competitors.
  20. An Audi A3 driver makes a terrible decision in the middle of the SLE expressway and gets shamed for it. That's right guys, you read the video title correctly. In the video, a cam car cruises down the first lane of the expressway when suddenly, the grey Toyota Vios in front of him abruptly brakes. This causes the cam car to hit his own brakes as well to avoid rear-ending the Vios. As expected, the sudden braking of both vehicles leads to a motorcyclist almost hitting the grey Vios as he performs a lane split. Puzzled over the sudden braking, the cam car eventually makes it further down the expressway, only to find a stationary red Audi A3 in the middle of the first lane. The owner can be seen climbing over the divider to retrieve something of his before running back to his precious car. This causes the cam car driver to let out an audible exclamation of "Walao eh!", which voices his disapproval at the Audi driver's inconsiderate actions. Why did the Audi driver stop his car in Lane 1? The A3 driver stopped his car in the middle of the first lane to retrieve this: Yep, that's right - a mirror cover. For those who are unfamiliar with these, a mirror cover covers the back and over of a car's side view mirrors. Its purpose is to protect the mirrors from dirt and debris coming up off the road, as well as to contribute to its aesthetic features. While it is rare for mirror covers to suddenly fly off while you're driving, it's possible for it to happen when one or more of the connection points on the cover is bent or broken. Although it is alarming to have your side mirror covers come off, the part is usually replaceable at a dealer's workshop. This then begs the question: Was it worth it to jam up traffic just to retrieve a broken mirror cover? Our netizens beg to disagree. Netizens' reactions I agree! The benefit of retrieving a possibly broken mirror cover does not outweigh the costs of potentially causing a serious accident. Yep, a quick search on Google shows that mirror covers cost between $20 - $50, with the pricier ones being a bit fancier. Unless you're telling me that the Audi driver's mirror covers are encased in 24k gold and diamonds, I do not see the need to stop his vehicle in the middle of the fastest lane in the expressway just to retrieve it. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 21. The German manufacturer has announced it's to work with Block on "exclusive joint projects in the field of electric mobility" It’s been all change for Ken Block this year. First off, he ditched his Ford partnership that had been running since 2010, going back to his old chums at Subaru. And apparently, one (no doubt lucrative) manufacturer contract wasn’t enough for the DC Shoe co-founder turned tyre torturer, as he’s just joined forces with Audi. Before you get excited about Ken’s next big video featuring a 1000bhp Sport quattro warbling away and spitting flames, we should let you know that the tie-up is solely focused on electric stuff. In the press release’s words, the plan is for Block and Audi to team up for “exclusive joint projects in the field of electric mobility.” And that’s as much detail as we get for now. As far as we know, none of this affects Block’s ARA (American Rally Association) campaign with Subaru, and we should imagine Gymkhana videos will continue to feature vehicles from the Japanese manufacturer. As a reminder, last time out Block handed over the Gymkhana reins to Travis Pastrana, who thrashed around his hometown of Annapolis in a mad, carbon fibre-bodied Subaru WRX STI with 850bhp. Block will, as far as we know, be back for Gymkhana 12, and probably not in an electric Audi. He might, however, have a crack at the Dakar Rally. Audi will take on the event with its new RS Q E-Tron (below), and Block would be a headline-grabbing driver to stick behind the wheel. He’s also a dab hand at that kind of driving, having set the third fastest time during his run on the final stage of the event last year in the Extreme E Odyssey 21 prototype. In 2021 he also won the first ever Projekt E rallycross series in Sweden. Although the partnership is about all things electric, Audi did kindly let Block loose in the legendary Audi Sport quattro S1 and a DTM V8 quattro, plus the electric E-Tron Vision Gran Turismo and an RS E-Tron GT. He was (inevitably) very complimentary about the E-Tron GT, saying that “The design is exquisite with great attention to detail and a perfect finish”. He added, “The driving experience is amazing: the car is incredibly fast and handles very well. The centre of gravity is very low so you can change direction quickly.” Audi Sport managing director Julius Seebach meanwhile had this to say about the new recruit: “Electrification is a game-changer, just like quattro drive once was. With Ken Block, we’ve got exciting things in store that go perfectly with our strategy.”
  22. Karma hits a reckless Audi A5 driver in the form of a car crash after causing a long list of various traffic infringements over the course of 5 days. Timeline Here's an official timeline of all of the incidents featured in the video compilation above. 14th September We start off with the driver performing a reckless lane change along the expressway on the 14th. The video shows the Audi zooming in from the left of the camcar, as the driver speeds up and places himself in the middle lane despite the car's presence. 17th September The second incident features the same Audi performing another reckless lane change a few days later. Like the first time, the car zooms in from the motorcyclist's right and dangerously tailgates the car in front of it. The motorcyclist shakes his head in disbelief as the driver quickly drifts into the middle lane. 18th September On the day of the crash, the Audi driver performs a series of reckless driving stunts a few hours before. At 1:05 p.m., the car is seen parked at the side of the road in front of a second vehicle after it had caused an accident. A few minutes later, the driver performs a reckless lane change. The car almost hits the other drivers on the road as it quickly swerves from left to right and back. Finally, at 5:19 p.m., the Audi performs another reckless lane change on the expressway as it zooms past a silver car in the right lane. The car suddenly switches into the middle lane, cutting in front of a large white bus before quickly switching back to the right. However, the A5 driver fails to notice that there is already a parked car in the right lane from an earlier accident. The driver causes a chain collision as he suddenly slows down, hitting the parked car in front of him and causing the silver car behind him to crash as well. Netizens' reactions Honestly, the Audi A5 driver got what he deserved. This just shows that no matter how great your car is, a reckless driver is never a safe driver. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 24. The 5th generation of the Audi S8 is here. Codenamed D5, the king of mixing luxury with performance, is back. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The S8's sole engine choice is a potent one: a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine making 563 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and the transmission is an eight-speed automatic. Audi claims a top speed of 155 mph, and there are fuel-saving systems, too, including cylinder deactivation and a mild-hybrid setup with a small electric motor and battery. At our test track, the S8 blasted to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. An active suspension system can control each wheel individually to improve ride quality, and it is tuned differently than that of the standard A8, promising improved cornering prowess thanks to reduced body roll. Audi also includes equipment such as a torque-vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering to increase agility; powerful carbon-ceramic brakes are optional.
