  1. If you find all the driving assist tech in Audi's new A8 too much to digest, watch this creative clip that breaks down how each assist works. Unlike most cars, the all new A8 uses a centralised architecture to control each of its driver assistance systems and in this smart little commercial, you will probably be able to see how the cameras, laser and radar systems all come together in making sure the driver of the Audi A8 is both safe as well as comfortable behind the wheel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R26iby1LHoM
  2. The Audi R8 is set to receive the 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine seen in latest Porsche Panamera says Autocar. The engine, which has has been developed by Audi and Porsche and will be used to replace the 4.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that was in the first generation R8. Another reason for the downsizing is also due to the tough emissions standards in some markets like China. In the R8, expected power rating would be around the 430-450bhp mark, considering the same engine does 434bhp in the Panamera 4S. It would also eclipse the old V8's 414bhp easily. The same engine is set to see action in a selection of Audi models, including the next RS4, RS5 and RS Q5. Interestingly, Audi has confirmed that the engine will be offered with a selection of different power and torque outputs depending on the spec of the car. It remains unknown when the twin-turbo V6 will join the Audi R8 family.
  3. Anyone went for the Audi Driving Experience the last few weeks? Sharing some random photos with the Audi fans out there. We got a chance to put the car thru the paces though not as much as we would like. Surprisingly, I had the most fun with the TT. The R8 is surprisingly easy to drive. The RS6 is an absolute rocket!
  4. In the unlikely and unfortunate event that you become a robber, one of the most effective getaway vehicle is an Audi RS6 as you can see in the clip below... With four up in the very brisk station wagon, the gang of robbers managed to escape from the police even though the Police tried to stop them through PIT maneuvers in their BMW 318i Touring. The robbers even reversed into the Police in an attempt to damage the police car. Maybe if the Police knew that the RS6 weighed near two tonnes and has more than 550bhp channelled through four wheels, they wouldn't have tried to intervene the robbers so aggressively... That said, justice always prevails and according to Birmingham Mail, all four robbers were eventually arrested and convicted, each serving eight years in prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=251&v=v6Nuq1Vx9S4

    Audi A3 2017

I can't seem to find accurate information on the Singapore Audi A3 1.0 2017, is it dry clutch or a wet clutch? I know there are various editions whereby in India is dry. Any advice pls?
  6. Recently, a couple of automotive manufacturers have been using the Nurburgring to set scorching lap times to market how fast their cars are. While the timings are a good indication how capable the cars are, the reason why many companies go to the Green Hell is to make sure their cars can withstand the immense torture the track put onto their cars. Said to be the most grueling track in the world, Motor Authority has reported that Audi brings all its RS-branded models to the track and let them go through a 8,000km torture regime to make sure their cars are durable. “We have the standard durability test program...But, as we have another use-case that means some of our cars will be used on the track, there we have an 8,000km durability test on the Nurburgring Nordschliefe with our professional drivers in the car, sometimes race drivers,” Head of Audi Sport product development Stephan Reil said. However, its S-branded models do not through such testing at the track as they are more unlikely to be driven hard by owners.
  7. Audi's yet-to-be launched Q8 SUV has been caught on the public roads pretty much undisguised. Based on the MLB Evo platform that underpins the Q7, the new large SUV features a more rakish exterior styling which can be clearly seen in this photo as compared to its sister car. No photos of the interior were shown but it is said to have an advanced center console that comes with two digital displays. Spotted by a member of the Autopareri forum, the car is likely to go on sale next year and will have powertrain options similar to the Q7.

    Audi S5

Hi all, Audi has just launched one of their most exicting cars to date over the weekend, the S5. What do you guys think of the car and anyone has any experience with it? Feel free to comment. Btw, the price is at $245K.. seems like a pretty good deal? It can almost be compared to the BMW 650i which is at about $80k more
  9. I did a forum search on 'Adblue' and no results came up. So I am starting this thread to share with you a recent Adblue refill experience on a rental Audi A6 Diesel Estate car, while on holiday in the UK. My family had gone to the UK for a driving holiday this winter. We rented from a company called SIXT, picked up the car at London Heathrow on arrival, and drove out of London immediately on the day we landed. In winter, hours with light were shorter so I had to maximise daylight time for all the driving I had to do. The plan was to go as far north as Glasgow and Edinburgh, before driving back to London. I had booked an Estate Car (so that we get more boot space for all our luggage). I had hoped to get the Mercedes E-class estate but they issued me with an Audi A6 Estate instead. No matter, since this was the car in the same category of rental. This is what the car looked like. It was quite long. The boot was very spacious, as with most estate cars. The car was almost brand new, with just over 3,000 miles on the odometer. Plenty of gadgets to play with, including a very useful Satellite Navigation system that brought us to our destinations efficiently. The car was roomy and the boot (or trunk) space was very good. We had plenty of luggage. Here is a video of the car, including the Sat-Nav system. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think that this model of car (Audi A6 Estate Diesel) is available in Singapore. Now, the point of this post is not just to show you the car, but to talk about my virgin Adblue experience, which will be the topic of the next post.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3u_14CXSDgThree years ago, Audi Sport welcomed Porsche back to the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans via a cheeky video. Sadly, Audi has announced their retirement from endurance racing after 18 years of competing and Porsche felt a need to bid farewell to their competitor on video. Watch the clip below and see how Porsche thanks Audi Sport for their fights on the track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4cJCiYvgeo

    Audi Q2 SUV

Didn't know Audi had a smaller than Q3 SUV planned. Those front DRL look suspiciously like the "Thor" hammer design of Volvo. And that large C-pillar? nah.... not good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uw62NGnvlA
  12. Feeling bored this weekend? Watch this great video review by Chris Harris featuring the Honda NSX, Audi R8 V10 Plus and Porsche 911 Turbo. Billed to be everyday supercars, the three cars were compared in some very bad weather but thankfully, all of them had AWD systems. Check out how they fare and which one gets the pick in the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym99DEDHNoc
  13. In a recent world rating, Audi ,BMW,Mini and volkswagen is rank among the most unreliable engine. View this URL for more infomation : http://www.autoevolution.com/news/audi-volkswagen-bmw-and-mini-record-worst-engine-failure-rates-54182.html
  14. Unveiled in production specification at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, Audi's electric R8 e-tron was suppose to add a new dimension to the R8 range. However, having sold fewer than 100 units of the all-electric sports car, audi has stopped production of the car. Reported by Car and Driver, only double digit sales figures were recorded. While there wasn't any given reason why it did not sold well, it is safe to assume the car's sky-high 1 million euro (S$1.53 million) price tag is a likely reason for why the electric supercar never appealed to many buyers. Using two rear-mounted electric motors, the Audi R8 e-tron outputs a total of 456bhp, enabling the car to hit 250km/h when maxed out. Power is channeled to the rear wheels only via a single-speed transmission.
  15. The dust on Audi’s smallest crossover, the Q2 has not even settled yet but Carscoops has already spotted a hotter version of it on the Nurburgring almost completely free of camouflage. The faster iteration of the Q2 is expected to feature the same powertrain as the Audi S3, which means it will should get around 270bhp or thereabouts. Obviously, it will have Audi's all-wheel drive system and from the photos, it looks like it will benefit from larger wheels and brakes. Expect the regular Audi Q2 to be launched after the third quarter of this year, with the faster version a year later.
  16. Audi has confirmed that it has stop development of its 420bhp, EA888 , four-cylinder engine that was first previewed in the TT Quattro Sport Concept back in 2014. According to Autoblog, Audi Quattro GmbH engineering boss Stephan Reil confirmed that “the 400bhp EA888 engine is dead.” It was designed by Freidrich Eichler who was also in charge of Mercedes-AMG's award-winning 2.0-litre turbo that powers the A45, CLA45 and GLA45. However, the Volkswagen Group decided to kill it as it was better for Audi to develop its existing five-cylinder which was thought to have more character than the four-cylinder. Also, the high output turboed four would have been more expensive to engineer than the five-pot.
  17. It seems that Audi has recently decided that the next generation Audi RS4 will only come in the five door station wagon or Avant form only. The reason given was that Audi RS Avant models (like the B7 RS4 Avant above) have outsold the RS saloon versions throughout the years and that there is now an option for those who want saloon like sport Audis in the form of the S5 Sportback. One other excuse, I mean reason, was that the market is moving away from performance saloons. This third reason I somehow fail to grasp as there is always a market for practical 4 door super saloons. I do not see Mercedes or BMW having this sort of thinking as they still have massively powered 4 door saloons. In fact, BMW seems to have done pretty well with the latest BMW M5 and critics are raving about it (above). Anyway, I somehow believe that this is a marketing ploy or just some silly excuse to save production costs by just using one single platform instead of two. It wasn't too long ago that Audi launched the current C6 Audi RS6 in Avant form only and then a followed a few months later by a saloon form. Earlier Audi launched the B7 Audi RS4 in saloon form followed by the Avant form later. Of course the previous RS4 before the B7 RS4 was a B5 in Avant form only. I say this because the B7 RS4 was launched at the tail end of the B7 A4's production and keeping things to the last minute was meant as a boost in sales figures. The same goes to the RS3
  18. Hi Friends,i am helping a friend,he is driving an Audi A6 with the 2L turbo engine, which is i think the same engine used in the V.W. Golf GTI,recently his car used about 1L of engine oil every 1500km,which i think is a bit too much, his mileage is 65,000km,no leak is detected, agent says it is normal, did any V.W./Audi owners here have this problem, thanks.
  19. I am buying one of these, new one from AD for my next 10 years usage, my annual driving is around 18k mileage, seldom do long distance drive. Reliability, how much do i need to set a budget for repair cost (not under servicing and maintenance) for these model typically for 10 years driving. What are the typical problem parts which need repairing? I am not sure how to choose, i am fine with all these car style and handling and electronics. Seeking advices from the many car gurus here, which car is a smart buy? considering cost and maintenance. Thank you.
  20. Recently, more and more car makers have been seen adding 'Drift' modes into their high performance cars. These cars include the latest Mercedes-AMG E63 and the McLaren 720S. The upcoming BMW M5 will also be offered with this mode that allows the all-wheel drive vehicle to disconnect its front wheels and send power to rears only. You can thank Ford for bringing this feature into the market first with the Ford Focus RS. It is currently one of the best driving hot hatch on sale now. However, Audi Sport's Head of Development Stephan Reil said that the company has no interest in making its vehicles slide. In an interview with Motoring, Reil said that there is simply no need for a drift mode as a similar result can be achieved by switching off the vehicle's ESP system. “No drift mode. Not in the R8, not in the RS3 not in the RS6, not in the RS4. I don’t like them. I do not see the reason for them. We do not see the sense in sitting there burning the back tyres. It’s not fast. It’s much faster the way we do it, and drifting also does not really suit the architecture of our cars,” Reil said.
  21. Dear Forummers, Apologies if there is already a thread for asking such questions, but I need some help. I am looking at purchasing a used Audi A4 1.8 L and the price quoted by the dealer is 68800. The car is a single owner car with 66K mileage on the Odo and OMV of 36,062 and COE of 43290. I am wondering if the price quoted is reasonable. I also saw a similar car quoted at 60,800 but the mileage on the ODO for the car is 107,000 so am thinking of getting the one with the lower mileage. Any help or feedback would be appreciated. Mods: Please move this thread / merge the thread in the appropriate topic if there is already a topic/thread existing on this topic. Cheers

    Audi A8 L extended limo

With an entirely new exterior skin from the a-pillar backwards, the A8 L extended is a not-insubstantial 6.36 metres in length – while the 4.22 metre wheelbase has grown almost 1.1 metres over the standard A8 L. That’s so long it requires special marker lights in the headlamps and tail lamps in order to comply with vehicle regulations. Though it’s still not quite as lengthy as the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman at 6.5 metres. Both of these aspects remain a mystery. All Audi will say about the origins of the idea is that it was built to order at the special request of a European customer. As for the cost, the project required almost a year to develop, build, test and finish to production model standards, so we can safely say it won’t have been cheap. It was intended as a one-off, but Audi has already received enquiries from other interested parties, which ought to help spread the cost. Not only is much of the bodywork bespoke but the aluminium Audi Space Frame structure had to be extended and then reinforced, with extra aluminium tubing and cross-bracing, added in to the roof in particular. There’s a massive 2.4 metre glass panel in the roof, in order to brighten-up the six-door, six-seat interior. Rows two and three get individually electrically adjustable chairs – thrones, with a coolbox and infotainment setup for those in the very rear. That’s ‘velvet beige’ Valcona leather, in case you’re curious. Instead it’s powered by a 3.0-litre forced-induction petrol V6, good for 306bhp and 324lb ft and capable of dragging this XXL-mobile 0-62mph in 7.1sec, despite the 2418kg kerb weight. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (imagine seeing that on the autobahn), while the 19-inch wheels cover a braking system borrowed from the Audi S8.
  23. Totally insane. This is what I think the MTM Audi A1 Nardo Edition is if I sum in up in just two words. Every year European tuners flock to the Nardo high speed test track for a round of high speed showdowns and for a showcase of their latest performance products. You get big names like G-power, Ruf, 9ff, and so on showcasing their latest test cars and show cars. But MTM has decided to attend with Audi's latest supermini. Albeit one with 500ps and can hit 201mph (324km/h). Imagine a car the size of the new Suzuki Swift pumping out that much power.....through its front wheels. Insane isn't it? What MTM have done is plonk in Audi's 2.5liter 5 cylinder that one usually finds located in the Audi TT-RS and used all of its magic to bring the power up to 500ps from 340ps and a whopping 600Nm of torque but kept it front-wheel drive. It must be as it is gravity defying in that the tiny (still) front-drive Audi A1 can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in 4.5seconds and go on to 324km/h. In such a small car doing anything above 300km/h must be like riding a bicycle downhill at breakneck speed without any safety gear or even any clothes on. Imagine this tiny tot thundering (I wonder if thunder can be this small) around the Nardo high speed ring surrounded by 9ff Porsches as well as tuned Mercedes SLRs. It must be David slaying many Goliaths at one go. This is the only Audi A1 which I truly fancy. The MTM Audi A1 Nardo Edition. Enough said.
  24. How dare they send my precious Audi to a lowly Nissan workshop for repair! I'm guessing that must be what was going through Mdm Goh's mind when she found out about this. Do you think she will still write this letter if her Audi had ended up in the Rolls Royces workshop for repair? But on a serious note, I wonder what's the reason Audi had to outsource the repair to Nissan. http://www.straitstimes.com/premium/forum-letters/story/my-point-20140619?page=1 Dealer sent car to another workshop I WAS in a car accident on April 2 and immediately sent my car to the Audi workshop for repair. After almost three months, I was told it is still not ready. My husband decided to visit the Audi workshop in Ubi to take a look at the repairs himself. After much insistence, he was finally led to the car workshop. To his horror, my car was actually being repaired at a Nissan workshop. Goh Meow Cheng (Madam)
