To clarify, I have nothing against BMW or their drivers. I grew up playing Need For Speed Most Wanted and still think the Most Wanted M3 GTR is one of the best fictional cars ever created. The 2009 M5 is one of the most impressive saloons to me due to the monstrous 5.0 litre V10 engine, the first of its kind among super saloons. However, I am afraid that whenever there is a traffic incident with a BMW, it is pretty memorable to say the least. What happened? According to the original Facebook post, a Chinese man was seen at the junction between Selegie and Serangoon roads, chasing a crying woman running around a BMW M4. The man was reported to have grabbed hold of her multiple times by the hair and started hitting her vigorously, forcing her inside the car. However, there is no footage or photo evidence of this happening so take it with a grain of salt. Two other women are seen with the man in the video and were reportedly also in the back seat of the M4. The incident caused a commotion around the area as many drivers stopped to look at it, effectively becoming a roadblock. The driver then crashed into more parked vehicles in the carpark of his condo at Tiong Bahru. The BMW was seen emitting smoke with the bonnet of the car badly dented. The car plate also fell off amidst the ram. The fire brigade was mobilized to put out the fumes. It was reported that the driver was visibly intoxicated and driving erratically before the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that the traffic light was uprooted and the car was left severely damaged. Did you know? What happened? A man was killed in an accident on Sunday, 2.05pm at the junction of Dunearn Road and Shelford Road near Tan Kah Kee MRT station. An SCDF paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene. The accident also involved 3 others. According to the SCDF, one person was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and two others were taken to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The incident caused lane one of the road to be blocked with traffic cones and led to a traffic jam. A silver BMW 3 series is believed to be involved with the accident, as one was seen in front of a police tent on a grass patch next to the blocked off lane one. The car’s rear windscreen was broken and debris covered the side of the road. A driver who passed the site of the accident told The Straits Times that he saw a body lying by the driver’s side of the BMW, and a severed arm in lane three of the road. The driver went on to comment, “I was shocked. I feel sad for the victim.” Security officer Syed Musa, 38, who was in his friend’s car, said they were stuck in the jam for about 30 minutes and went past the accident site at around 3.30pm. When asked by The Straits Times he said, “My wife saw a man, (whom we) believed to be the driver of the car, standing near a tree and being attended to by the paramedics. What happened? Phoo Yi Lin, 26, admitted on Monday to driving the white BMW M4 in a dangerous manner at around 5.35am on Feb 13, 2021. This was prior to the incident where another driver caused a fatal crash that claimed 5 lives. It was not disclosed if Ms Phoo was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, but District Judge Salina Ishak noted that Phoo had consumed alcohol before she drove the car that morning. Ms Phoo and her friends drove around the Tanjong Pagar area, taking turns at the wheel to see who could drive the car the fastest. She clocked 109km/h to 130km/h, but dashcam footage from a taxi in the area suggests that she may have hit 181km/h as well. The speed limit for that area is 50km/h. The prosecutor requested for the maximum fine of S$5,000 to be meted out to Phoo. This is considering that a cyclist and at least two pedestrians were present when she sped the car down the road. People charged for dangerous driving face up to 12 months in jail, a $5,000 fine or both. Ms Phoo’s sentence was a $5,000 fine and a 3 month ban from driving. Her lawyer pleaded with the court to “give her a chance”, adding that she had lost her job and had lost a number of friends due to the accident. On 16 March she requested to leave Singapore, but her application was rejected as she was considered a flight risk facing a serious offence. The BMW X6 was the founder member of the new category and continues to combine extrovert presence with standout performance and an edgy design to this day. More than 443,000 units of the X6 have now been sold worldwide across two model generations. The crisply expressive design language of the third-generation BMW X6 underscores its confident, commanding and muscular appearance. The interplay of advanced powertrain & chassis technology and top-class equipment features delivers a uniquely sporting yet also very comfortable driving experience. Progress is likewise the name of the game with the extensive spread of innovative operating tech and driver assistance systems. The BMW X6 is produced at BMW Plant Spartanburg in the US state of South Carolina. This centre of expertise for BMW X models also handles production of the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and BMW X7. The desired vehicle ride height can also be set with the engine switched off and using the optional BMW Display Key. The new BMW X6 is offered with an off-road package as an option. Available for all model variants with the exception of the BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d, the xOffroad package includes two-axle air suspension and an electronically controlled rear differential lock. The person at the wheel can choose from four modes specialising in driving over snow, sand, gravel or rocks respectively. The maximum time that can pass between the car stopping and setting off again automatically is now 30 seconds, making the driver's life that extra bit more comfortable. The speed limits detected by the Speed Limit Info traffic sign recognition system including No Passing Info display can be incorporated into the system's automatic speed modulation, with a preset adjustment of up to 15 km/h (9 mph) possible, if required. Driving Assistant Professional provides a particularly far-reaching helping hand The Driving Assistant Professional is offered as an option for the new BMW X6. This complete package of safety- and comfort-enhancing tech includes both the steering and lane control assistant with Traffic jam assistant and lane keeping assistant with active side collision protection. With the steering and lane control assistant activated, the driver can make use of the Lane Change Assistant on motorways and dual carriageways. The BMW M4 CSL is finally here. The lightweight, high-powered coupe is the company's latest M offering that arrives just as BMW celebrates 50 years of its iconic performance brand. The new M4 CSL is an exclusive model, with BMW planning to produce just 1,000 examples for the entire world. The coupe receives improvements over the M4 Competition, making it the fastest series-production BMW ever to lap the Nürburgring's Nordschleife circuit. It took the M4 CSL just 7:20.2 to complete a lap. Stylistically, the BMW's visual enhancements are all about performance, and at the front, that means BMW optimized the design for maximum cooling potential and generating downforce. The new M4 features high- and low-temperature cooling circuits to ensure the car's various components maintain their optimal operating temperatures during street and track driving. The BMW M4 CSL uses the brand's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. It produces 543 horsepower (404 kilowatts), a 40-hp increase over the M4 Competition. The engine pumps out 479 pound-feet (649 Newton-meters) of torque available from 2,750 to 5,950 rpm. BMW also cranked up boost pressure from 24.7 psi in the Competition to 30.5 psi in the new CSL. BMW routes the CSL's power to the rear wheels through its eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Tapping the carbon-fiber paddle shifters behind the steering wheel engages the gearbox's manual mode, allowing drivers to execute multiple downshifts to the lowest available gear. The gearbox also won't force upshifts when in manual mode and the car's accelerating. BMW says the M4 CSL will hit 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.6 seconds. It needs just 10.5 seconds to hit 120 mph (193 kph). BMW electronically limits its top speed to 191 mph (307 kph). BMW went to great lengths to reduce the CLS's weight, eliminating 240 pounds (108.8 kilograms) and giving the coupe a 3,640-lbs (1,605-kg) curb weight. BMW's weight loss program included cutting the rear seats (46 lbs), switching to lightweight sound insulation (33 lbs), using interior and exterior carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP) components (24 lbs), and installing a titanium rear silencer (9 lbs). The CSL's standard M Carbon ceramic brakes eliminated another 31.5 pounds, while BMW's extensive use of CFRP for the hood and trunk reduced the coupe's weight by another 3 lbs and 15 lbs, respectively. BMW shaved another 8 pounds from various components such as the kidney grille, rear lights, floor mats, and automatic climate control system. Using carbon fiber for the center console cut about 9 lbs, though one of the most significant cuts came from BMW installing M Carbon full bucket seats, which dropped another 53 lbs from the car. Inside the M4 CLS, you'll find just two lightweight seats, but they are no ordinary BMW seats. BMW exclusively designed the M Carbon full bucket seats with track driving in mind. They lack lumbar support, power adjustability, and heating. However, BMW will offer heated M Carbon bucket seats with complete power-adjustability as a no-cost option if the standard seats are a bit too extreme. The M Carbon full bucket seats, trimmed in black Merino leather with red Alcantara inserts, feature pronounced side bolsters, and they come with a fixed-angle backrest. If you want to adjust the height, you'll need a workshop and the use of a three-stage screw linkage. Thankfully, drivers can make fore and aft adjustments with a manual lever at the front edge of the seat. The lack of rear seats makes space for two helmet storage compartments. BMW also used CFRP for the double-bubble roof, which helped reduce the car's overall curb weight and lowered the car's center of gravity. That's a big win for its handling. The company also stiffened the car's engine and transmission mounts while installing a specially developed strut brace that connects the two spring strut towers with the front end. Underneath, BMW installed a model-specific suspension that lowers the ride height by 0.3 inches compared to the M4 Competition. BMW designed many suspension parts specifically for the CSL, such as the anti-roll bars, wheel camber settings, and dampers. Stopping power comes from six-piston, fixed-caliper 15.7-inch front brakes, and single-piston, floating-caliper 15.0-inch rears. BMW offers two pedal-feel settings for drivers. Those brakes sit inside staggered 21- and 22-inch matte-black light-alloy M wheels that BMW wraps in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The 2023 BMW M4 CSL will have a starting price of $140,895 (that includes the $995 destination charge). Production begins this July.

According to PapadakisRacing, the answer is yes. And they reckon that the B58 is capable of pushing out 1,000bhp. Yes, the tuning company plans to take the Supra's 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder to such extreme outputs and for them to get there, they have to strip it down to see what it is made off. The B58 engine has been in existence since 2015 and has since proven itself to be easy to work with. A tune on the B58 engine could see a BMW 340i's horsepower numbers jump from the factory's 326bhp to well over 420bhp.

BMWs typically have a shelf life of seven years but that won’t be the case for the current X5 whose successor is nearing the end of its development. One of the reasons for the speedy arrival of the redesigned X5 is to streamline the production process. The CLAR-based SUVs will all be built at BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Another being the current X5 is facing stiff competition from newer rivals like the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90. The current (third-gen) X5 was introduced for the 2014 model year but its underpinnings are shared with the second-gen X5 on sale since 2007. This fourth-gen model, which we’re currently expecting to arrive in showrooms in mid-2018, as a 2019 model, won’t have anything in common with its predecessors. It will ride on the SUV version of BMW’s modular platform that debuted in the 2016 7-Series and has since appeared in the 2017 5-Series. Referred to internally as a CLAR, short for Cluster Architecture, the platform combines lightweight materials such as aluminum and magnesium—and carbon fiber in the case of the 7-Series—with conventional steel to save weight while increasing rigidity and strength. The SUV version of the CLAR platform made its debut in the 2018 X3. The platform is also pegged for an X7 full-size SUV that BMW has confirmed for launch in 2018. Hi all, I've recently chanced upon the BMW X1 (UX11) and i found its interior to be really beautiful. However, I'm really thrown off by the low power it has and I'm considering to tune it if i do purchase it. I'm aware that tuning the vehicle does void warranty from PML hence i was thinking of flash tuning it (and undoing it before servicing to avoid voiding the warranty). Just want to ask fellow lao jiaos here for some advice on whether my train of thought is right? Regarding flash tuning and undoing it not leading to a void in warranty? Any recommended brands to purchase and videos to watch so i have an understanding of how flash tuning works? Many thanks in advance!

With so many videos of serious car accidents circulating around lately, you would think that drivers will learn to pay more attention on the road. Well apparently not for this reckless BMW driver who obviously has no concern about safe driving. Watch the 31-seconds video here and try not to rage: What happened? According to the caption of the video, the incident happened at Sembawang Road at around midnight last night. In the video, we can clearly see that the light has turned red at the 0:11 mark. Drivers and riders that can be seen in the video had either stopped or were slowing down when approaching the traffic junction. With the green light in pedestrian’s favour, the cyclist started to make his/her way across the road as would any of us. Just when the cyclist made about a quarter of his/her way across the road, SEVEN (7) WHOLE SECONDS after the lights had turned red, a BMW can be seen speeding on the middle lane into the frame of the video with NO ATTEMPT to slow down or stop. What the hell? Tragedy Strikes The speeding car smashed into the unsuspecting cyclist before coming to an abrupt halt. The high-speed impact sent the poor cyclist flying from his bicycle and onto the cold hard floor nearby. The video then ends with a nearby motorcyclist approaching the scene seemingly to render assistance. Online Chatter My exact sentiments! Who the hell approved this f*****’s license?! Clearly you are not suitable to be driving if you are BLIND AF. Umm, okay… I, for one, believe that there is no reason ever good enough to have such blatant disregard to road safety at the (possible) expense of innocent lives. If you want to die, don’t drag others down with you la please. Wtf, where the sauce bro?? I have seen my fair share of NON-BMW and MERC who were behaving recklessly on the road as well. It’s not the car, it’s the driver la. Last but Not Least Like what the comments above say, road users PLEASE, for the love of God, exercise caution whenever you are on the road – especially the helpless pedestrians. The green light may be in your favour but some people, like this BMW driver, have issues distinguishing between green and red or may possibly be distracted. Let’s all pray for the cyclist and that the reckless driver gets his/her due punishment! The year is 1989, the cold war ended, Hershey’s reduced the size of their chocolate bar, Spandex was all the rage and the idea that a single virus could shut down the entire World in almost an instant was nothing more than a figment of one’s wild imagination. 1989 was also the year a young lady made a prophecy, a prophecy we in 2021 now bear witness to as it comes to fruition. A prophecy that says “It’s true you can’t fight it, live by it. The next generation, it’s electric.” While I doubt Miss Debbie Gibson would have imagined her words coming true in such a fashion, Electric Youth does seem to be the perfect tune to describe the automotive world’s current paradigm shift towards electrification, led no doubt in part by a generation who grew up listening to that very song. As the pioneers in bringing electrified vehicles onto our sunny roads, BMW recently held their Electrified Drive event which saw the arrival of BMW’s technological flagship, the iX, and the updated iX3. Both vehicles we were privy to in addition to a Mini Electric and the one that kickstarted it all, the BMW i3. It’s been 8 years since the i3 was first unveiled to an EV-averse world. Whilst things have definitely changed since then, the original i3 still felt fresh after we did what came naturally, sliding down behind the wheel of BMW’s original EV, now in i3s form. Though the i3s’ infotainment and dash readouts now pale in comparison to the latest high-fidelity screens, the interior is still a lovely place to be in and it still drives remarkably well. Allowing us to not only rekindle our joy behind the wheel of BMW’s first-ever zero-emissions vehicle but also provided us with a reference point to see just how much has progressed since 2013. (Hint: A lot!) By sheer luck or perhaps careful planning, we were handed the keys to the original iX3 mere weeks before taking the reins of this brand new iteration, so do stay tuned for our full impressions! Of course, we also had to drive the iX, being BMW’s latest i-car that carries the mantle as BMW’s technological flagship isn’t going to be easy but as we were soon to find out as we felt the power and energy comin’ up, coming on strong, it’s the marque’s techno showcase for many good (and desirable) reasons. More on that in our upcoming review.
