  1. From "Ultimate Driving Machine" to this? http://adage.com/article?article_id=110963 Hopefully it is not final and still subjected to change...

    BMW X5

The X5 LM is powered by the V12 LMR eninge that won the 1999 Le Mans, with unparalleled perfromance at a corresponding level. The idea behind the X5 LM experimental vehicle originates primarily form a technical ambition. BMW engineers wnated to explore and demonstrate the X5's real absolute limits in practice. As a positive side effect their efforts produced a compelling show piece whos powerful look reflect it's impressive inner values. The chassis rollin on it's new dubs, now lowered by 30mm, axle load distribution, is almost ideal at 51:49% front/rear. The exterior dimensions are basically the same as the standard X5. The interior on the othe hand looks very different, the four comfortable seats were replaced by four alluminium bucket seats, with a particular emphasis on race feel. BMW 7 Facelifted

Three years after its debut BMW has tweaked the company's range of the Chris Bangled 7 Series, which caused much controversy as intended. Due for launch in the spring, the range gets what BMW describes as "interior fine-tuning, dynamic developments and exterior styling enhancements". In other words, a face-lift -- plus some new engines -- and some welcome weight-saving measures. From the front, there is a new headlamp and bumper design, changes to the kidney grilles and a bigger bonnet power bulge. The rear of the car gets new tail lamps, bumper and a chrome strip running the width of the boot lid, and bolder side sills. What do you think???

    BMW's price

Say anyone knows the prices (after driving a hard bargain) for the following models? 320i 325i 330i Any info is much appreciated
  5. Cool V10 engine. But the exterior looks weird to me. http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/200.php
  6. ZF Lenksysteme, a joint venture between German component makers Bosch and ZF Friedrichshafen, has developed a new active steering system in collaboration with German luxury automaker BMW. This new system, which uses Bosch's Electronic Stability Program (ESP), was designed to adapt to changing road situations, thus increasing safety and enhancing driving conditions. The active steering system is available as optional equipment on BMW's new 5-Series models. ZF Lenksysteme specialises in the development and manufacturing of steering technology for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Significance: BMW has exclusive rights for the new steering system, meaning that ZF Lenksysteme's production of this system will depend on BMW's ability to popularise this optional feature.
  7. NICE CAR....much better than the soft top Z4................ http://www.bmw-sg.com/photopost/data/500/m...05_B0944DF1.jpg
  8. Heard that Performance Motor will accept orders on special indent basis for the 320i manual. What's more, it comes at a price $6K lower than the Steptronic base model (both without i-Drive). Anyone got more info on this, or are working on a special indent deal with Performance on this - to bring in their manual E90 3-ers? Not bad if you want to keep a cheaper-to-maintain BMW in the long term. And go-faster too! I bet the 325i variant will be even more fun to drive on a manual tranny. Now that would be (only) $160+K, based on current prices.
  9. There are limitless words to describe this car for the casual automobile enthusiast, and even so, the varied responses to Alex

  11. Not discriminating BMW drivers but...almost all the BMWs dat we see on the expressway..either tailgating people, racing dwn the 1st lane, or zipping around the traffic....y is this so ..they really think their BMW is sports car? Especially woman drivers behind the wheel of BMWs..drive like no tmr NO OFFENCES TO BMW DRIVERS
  12. Not looking good my friends. Really not looking good. Front's okay - at least better than the sedan version. But the back... *yaaawwwnnn*. It's not ugly... (though some may say it is), but gosh isn't it boring to look at. The italians must be giggling...
  13. Heard the new BMW 320i price has dropped to $137k! Was at PML about 2mths back they told me best price $147k when COE at $20k, now COE at $15k (drop by $5k) but they have reduce thier selling price by $10k!
  14. Came across a COE BMW today, and the dealer offered $30,000. COE left is $17,800. Looks well-maintained... and $30,000 seems rather enticing to drive a beemer. Is this a good deal? For COE beemers, are there special things to check for? What about annual cost of maintenance - what's the likely cost I shld budget? Thanks for any advice.
  15. Was travelling along TPE towards tampines...Was exiting from Jln Kayu to enter to TPE...Was slowly gonna cut into right lane when I noticed a BMW (S*A 1088 A) behind me arppoaching quit fast.So I let him move first.Ater that I went behind him.Seeing that there was no car in front of him,I moved up a little, hpong that he would either move faster or move left.Unfortunately, this joker didn't.He was cruising.Fine.When I tried to overtake him,he sped up...I confirmed that he was playing with my humble & CMI Civic 1.6(A) becos it happened a few runs, not just once.Everytime I tried to overtake,he would speed up.If I was behind him,he would drive slowly & even tap his brakes even though no one was in front of him. If you ask me,I think this guy is really immature. Why would I wanna jio him to race?I know my own limits. If he thinks that I am 'jio-ing' him for a race, then I am sorry. I don't jio people for races, not even when I used to drive my Integra Type R. Whats the point?I am sure he would leave me alone if I were to be driving my ex-car. Sad world of big eat small.Gotta accept the facts at times.

  18. From CNN.com BMW's M division brand manager Tom Salkowski reported to the press today that his division has been working on a limited-production run of the world renowned E30 chassis M3 for a mid 2004 release as the "E30 M3". Salkowski told the press, "We wanted to bring back the car that made us famous," and "If it wasn't for the E30 M3, BMW would not be where it is today." One of the most successful touring cars of all time, the E30 M3 has been a cult car since it's introduction in Europe in 1986. Salkowski stressed that the car would be very close to the original, while being completely redesigned from the ground up. The interior and exterior will reflect the original in almost every detail. Salkowski noted "We wanted to make it a lightweight true to it's purpose race car that can be driven on the street." We are told the car will be motivated by an updated version of the car's original S14 engine, to be named the S16. "We wanted to keep it's character" Salkowski stated. He didn't go into details, but suggested that through the use of many of the new technologies in the current M engines and the new V12 in the 760 sedan, they have been able to get over 300 horsepower from this 2.5 liter 4 cylinder motor. Weighing under 2800 pounds, this car will be a real rocket, possibly the fastest vehicle BMW will have produced. The head of BMW's design division Chris Bangle noted that the design for the vehicle would be basically unaltered, with the same "quirky" lines and "boy-racer" look that keeps the car so original. "It was a unique process" Bangle said, "We had to work within the lines of this vehicle from the mid-eighties and update it without losing it's original look. Bangle, when asked about the criticism he has garnered from many of his recent designs, stated that it was not a redesign, just a freshening. The car will be unveiled this coming April at the New York International Auto Show to the anxiously awaiting public.

    2007 BMW E90 M3

The new M3 would probably not look too similar to the current new 3series (which i find ugly by the way). Some spy shots and other pics. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7111&stc=1 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7113&stc=1 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7114&stc=1 And this is probably how the 2007 M3's rear would look like - really different from the 3series and other current photoshopped pictures out there. Do keep in mind that these are ALSO photoshopped pictures, but simply "more" accurate and up-to-date la. When the new M3 arrives in '07, it'll be almost 100bhp more than the current M3. It'll have 425bhp 4.4litre V8 engine, mimicing its big brother the M5 in other aspects i think.

    BMW M2 Coupe

The new 2 series is the coupe version of the 1 series coming out soon in Europe and Japan. BMW is apparently switching their naming conventions around, and have even numbered series models being the coupe versions (2 series, the new 4 series coming out soon, and the 6 series), while the odd number models have 4 doors. Finally some rhyme to their reason ;) So anyway, Automobile Magazine reports that BMW is targeting the "upper portion of the lower midrange market segment" (or something to that effect) of vehicles. I'm not sure what it means, but the 2 series is reported to start around $23k for the baseline 4 cylinder, move up to $26k for an inline 6 (or turbocharged 4), and then top out around $32k for the new M2. The M2 model is rumored to have a 300 horsepower inline-6 cylinder engine, which fits in nicely with the new 400 hp engine for the new M5 and the 500 hp engine for the M6 — all coming out late next year.
  24. Below is the link to a Bimmerfest member from California. He did a ED for his E46 Imola Red M3 Coupe. Its a well done web page. The car is beautiful. Enjoy! http://www.chamberware.com/Europe/M3Trip.htm
