  1. Kinda agree..... https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/opinion/355731/people-have-decided-mercedes-bmw-and-audi-are-no-longer-top-10-car-brands
  2. This Coupe styled SUV is suppose to be even larger than the X7, and come with an unusual tailpipe layout... The first sighting of the sports activity vehicle to slot above the BMW X7 happened last year, basically confirming that the biggest of the X models is indeed coming. However, Bavaria hasn't confirmed its arrival yet nor has it confirmed that it will indeed be called the X8. Expected to become the new flagship BMW SUV, the prototype here was spotted at the Nurburgring. Despite the bevy of claddings and concealment to hide its design, there are several cues here that tell us that this isn't the facelifted version of the X7 that we saw recently. The front looks flatter than the X7, while the bonnet has prominent lines and the lower intakes have been reshaped. The headlights are positioned lower than the current X7, though this aligns the alleged X8 with the upcoming X7 refresh in terms of headlamp design – albeit the X8 isn't showing any sign of a split-headlight design. And yes, the massive kidneys found on the X7 will likely appear on the X8 as well, given the spy shots that you see here.
  3. I think it is pretty cool to use an old car for decoration. 😍 Thoughts on this?
  4. The New 612 HP BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupé Is as Powerful as It Is Luxurious Alpina has never seen reason to differentiate between luxury and high-performance vehicles, and that’s no less true of its latest confection. The German performance automaker has just unveiled a new souped-up BMW, the Alpina B8 Gran Coupe. The stately car is easily the most luxurious entry in the new 8-Series lineu, and it also happens to be one of the most powerful thanks thanks to its gutsy V-8 engine. At a glance, the Alpina B8 doesn’t look all that different from the standard B8 Gran Coupé. That’s a good thing, because the five-door is already one of the most elegant vehicles in the BMW lineup. There are some changes, of course. Both ends of the vehicle have been tweaked, with a larger air intake and a diffuser up front and a lip spoiler in the back. There’s also special Alpina decals and badging, as well as its trademark 21-inch, 20-spoke forged wheels, which come wrapped in Pirelli performance tires. The interior has also been given a subtle makeover. Almost everything—including the multi-functional front sport seats, steering wheel and instrument panel—is covered or accented with Merino leather finely crafted in Alpina’s in-house workshop. Behind the steering wheel, you’ll find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The center console is topped by BMW’s 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, from which you can access the navigation and driver assistance system. A Harman Kardon surround sound system also comes standard. While the raft of opulent accoutrements gives the Alpina B8 bona fide luxury appeal, the beastly mill under its hood may be even more impressive. The engine is the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 found in M850i and M8 model. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it’s been specially tuned so that it generates 612 horses and 590 ft lbs of twist. That makes it the second most powerful 8-Series car, trailing only the M8 with the Competition package, which delivers 617 hp. It’s pretty speedy, too, able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 201 mph. The Alpina B8 Gran Coupé is expected to arrive in the US later this spring. In addition to being the most luxurious entry in the 8-Series lineup, it’s also the most expensive with a starting price of $140,895.
  5. A BMW M5 was caught speeding recklessly and beating the red light along Still Road on Wednesday (June 9) night. The 39-second clip shows multiple views of the speeding vehicle from a camcar that was at the traffic junction. According to the Road Traffic Act, drivers caught speeding will be awarded demerit points and a composition fine. After watching the video, there is no doubt that the BMW had exceeded the speed limit. Drivers who are caught exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h would receive 12 to 24 demerit points, along with a mandatory prosecution in court. Additionally, beating the red light will incur a fine of up to $400 and another 12 demerit points. With the recent news of actor Gurmit Singh receiving an $800 fine for speeding, I had expected Singaporeans to be more mindful and to avoid speeding on empty roads. Netizens' reactions Honestly, the few minutes that you save on your trip is not worth the consequences that come along with it. Be it an exorbitant fine or a potentially fatal car accident, you would have wished that you didn’t speed in the first place.
  6. TL;DR – BMW driver steals a parallel carpark lot from another BMW by edging headfirst into the small vacant lot. The result? Video footage of some crap parking. Here’s a 47-second video of a Beemer stealing a carpark lot….from another Beemer! What’s happening? Here’s a rough breakdown of what’s happening. The 3 Series (car at the back) tailgates the 1 Series (car in front trying to park). Both their hazard lights are on. As the 1 Series tries to parallel park by reversing in, the 3 Series drives headfirst into the lot. Yes. Headfirst into a small parallel lot. The 1 series driver then comes out of the car to confront the 3 series driver (the conversation is inaudible, so we cannot tell what they’re saying to one another). What could have caused this? While we don’t know what happened before the recording starts, some people mention that the 1 Series could have been the culprit and not jump to conclusions. It’s a BMW. Not a VW. Head-in parallel parking I don’t know about you all, but it’s just cringy to watch. Yes, I understand the 3 Series is trying to get the lot before the 1 Series reverses in, but it doesn’t change the fact that it irks me, especially when you see the 3 Series stuck at an odd angle in the parallel lot. Online chatter Wah. This person raging siol. Are you the 1 Series driver? ‘B’rilliant. Honestly, most cars these days come with a dashcam installed. Try not to get caught doing stupid things on video so we don’t have to write about you.
  7. When you are driving/riding and someone is in your path, you give way or slow down right? Well...not for this guy. Watch this 10-second clip to see his hazardous riding: The incident took place along Sims Avenue. Cam bike's intentions backfired The cam bike submitted the video above, intending to shame the elderly pedestrian for jaywalking. However, things took a turn when netizens started calling out the cam bike for his dangerous behaviour, and some even roasted him. What happened? The cam bike rode along Sims Avenue at a relatively fast speed (compared to the other vehicles around him). After he rode past a lorry, an elderly pedestrian in striped clothing can be seen crossing the road from afar. But instead of giving way to the jaywalker, the cam bike rode extremely close to him ON PURPOSE and gave the uncle a rude hand gesture. Netizens' comments Self-owned, nuff said. Motorists like the cam biker should go to hell. Straight-up facts. It doesn't hurt for cam bike to slow down or give way to the elderly pedestrian. Also, can you imagine how shook the uncle was at that point in time? If it were me, I might have to change my underwear. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 8. Here's another case of Singaporean drivers not being gracious. For those who have been reading our blogs, this looks slightly similar to the other incident we posted last week where the camera car refuses to give way. Posted on SG Road Vigilante first, this BMW 5 Series could be seen cutting across the camera car's lane and also across the double white lines early in the video. Our first instinct was, "wow what a horrible move by the BMW". But later in the clip, you will notice that the BMW did signal his intention of going into the filtering lane at the end of Clementi Ave 6 going towards Bukit Batok. However, the camera car chose to not give way, probably triggering the BMW driver's temper. Not a cool move from the camera car we rekon. Would you have given way to the BMW if you were driving the camera car? Or you reckon the BMW is just being silly? Let us know!
  9. Will be officially unveiled on 8 July, but you get to see it first here in MCF. Photos above are for M240i. @ER-3682, from what I read, it would still be offered in RWD. Stay tuned for more info.
  10. TL:DR – A BMW 2 Series convertible goes over a small, unassuming pothole/manhole that causes its rear end to flip up, lose some parts from its undercarriage and swerve into another lane. It's incredible how a small pothole/manhole can cause thousands of dollar's worth of damage to a car. Here's an example recorded on a video forwarded many times on WhatsApp groups. From the footage, we know that this incident happened on 11th April 2021, Sunday around 5pm. As to where this is, I have a feeling it might be somewhere around Woodlands. But, if you have any idea, do let me know, and I'll update the article accordingly to warn fellow road users where to avoid. Update: Thank you everyone who identified the location. It's in Yishun. Poor BMW If you hit the pause button upon the point of impact, you'll notice that bits and pieces fall out from the undercarriage of the 2 Series. That’s as unlucky as this guy I reckon those parts are not going to be cheap to replace or repair. The pothole/manhole This image circulated together with the video. I'm assuming the cam car driver got out of the car and snapped a photo of the pothole/manhole.
  11. New 2018 BMW X2 SUV revealedhttp://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bmw/x2/93141/new-2018-bmw-x2-suv-revealed Based on the X1, the BMW X2 crossover will slot in beneath the X3 to provide another premium SUV offering BMW is aiming to fill yet another niche within the ever-growing ranks of premium SUVs with its latest creation: the X2. It has now been revealed in full – ahead of its launch next month. The X2 is designed to slot in between the entry-level front-drive-based X1 and the larger X3, as a model that focuses more on style than outright practicality. It shares many of its mechanicals with the X1, as well as the MINI Countryman. That means it uses BMW’s UKL2 platform – a chassis that restricts the car to four-cylinder engines but still offers the possibility of four-wheel drive on high-end models and, in theory, plug-in hybrid powertrains. The newcomer sticks admirably close to the looks of the Concept X2 seen at 2016’s Paris Motor Show. It has the same wheelbase as the X1, but shorter overhangs for a dynamic look. Perhaps more significantly, its roofline is a full 70mm lower, making the X2 more of a hatchback than a coupé-SUV. The 470-litre boot is 35 litres smaller than the X1’s. Other concept car touches to make production include the swept-back lights, the rising window line (incorporating BMW’s signature Hofmeister kink), the ultra-slim hatchback glass and even the BMW badge inset into the C-pillar. Basic SE models get 17-inch wheels, but more expensive trim levels will be available with 20-inch rims. Despite the platform’s capability, there’s no sign of electrification in the X2 launch line-up. Its range will comprise the two-wheel-drive, petrol-engined sDrive20i, and a pair of four-wheel-drive diesels, badged xDrive20d and xDrive25d. The sDrive20i has 228bhp and 450Nm, and is available only with a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch auto transmission. It covers 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, and emits between 126 and 134g/km of CO2 depending on wheel size. The diesels are both equipped with an eight-speed auto box. The xDrive20d has 188bhp and 400Nm, but emits between 121 and 126g/km of CO2, while the xDrive25d produces 228bhp and 450Nm, and emits between 133 and 139g/km. BMW has already confirmed that further engines will join the line-up in early 2018 – two more petrols, and a pair of diesels. The entry-level 138bhp 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol sDrive18i will join the four-wheel-drive xDrive20i, which has 189bhp. The diesels will be the 148bhp sDrive18d and xDrive18d; the front-drive edition of that variant will be the most efficient X2, with CO2 emissions as low as 119g/km. The car will be offered in SE, Sport, M Sport and M Sport X specs; the latter command a £3,550 and £4,350 premium over SE models respectively. SE features sat-nav, dual-zone climate control and a power tailgate, while Sport has sports seats and LED lights. M Sport variants get larger wheels and body-coloured side skirts, and M Sport X versions switch some of the design details to grey, for a more off-road-biased look. Confusingly, M Sport and M Sport X models are 10mm lower than regular X2s. Inside, the X2 gets familiar BMW cues, including iDrive and a 6.5-inch infotainment display that’s standard across the range, but which can be upgraded to a similarly sized Touch Control set-up, or an 8.8-inch screen with the same features. A head-up display will also be offered, as an option, along with WiFi hotspot preparation. Apple CarPlay will also be an extra, however, and Android Auto won’t be available.
  12. I created this thread just for the BMW 3 series, many threads were opened on variants of 3 series but I thought be great to have one just for the 3 Series variants. Ever since I had a E46 I have always loved the 3 series more than any car I owned. This video sums up what this model is all about, practical, well balance, well sized sports saloon. I'll do a write-up on a ride soon enough. Hope other owners do the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ildXLLfm23o

  14. TRAFFIC POLICE GETS AN ALL NEW BMW 2019 R1250RT BIKE https://www.roads.sg/traffic-police-gets-an-all-new-bmw-2019-r1250rt-bike/ Traffic police gets expensive BMW cars and bikes. This is how they spent tax payers money!
  15. As a driver, I always groan whenever I see a cyclist in front of me. As bicycles are naturally slower than cars, they tend to hog the lane they're on and I try my best to always steer clear away from them as possible. Not everyone's like that though. Let's take this BMW driver in the video for example. In the video, dated 15th March 2021, you can see that the driver doesn't adhere to the 'keep a 1.5m distance away from cyclists' rule nor does he steer away from the bicycle. If I didn't know any better, it actually looks like the driver wanted to run the cyclist down. Here's the video (turn up the volume to listen in on the conversation): For those who don't understand Hokkien, don't worry, Uncle Koba will be your translator The heated exchange happens after the cyclist slapped/knocked the side of the car to warn the driver how close the car was to him. The driver comes to a stop and horns 🥳 The driver lets out a string of vulgarities that does not need any translation Cyclist: Eh, you purposely one is it? Driver: What's the matter? I'm driving!️ Cyclist: Why are you coming closer and closer to me? Driver: Did I bang you? Cyclist: The road so big, why you choose to keep to this lane? The rest of the video goes on to talk about their father, mother, cats & dogs. Then the driver speeds off, leaving a fuming cyclist in the dust 💨 Do you think the driver should have given more space? Or, do you think that the cyclist has very entitled views on how cyclists should be treated on the roads?
  16. I find that its quite a lazy design when they had the opportunity to go for a much more interesting design. They had chosen to stick to the pig nose grille (except its now closed, so it doesn't serve any function other than making a controversial styling statement) and added some fake aero diffusers at the lower valence of the rear bumper, plus the mandatory blue highlights to tell the world that its an "electrified" BMW. Interior was probably going to be similar to the current 3 series, that's why they didn't even bother to show in the video. It's another pity when they decided it isn't worth to keep that distinctive window design from the initial concept, which mimicked the outline of the pair of kidneys at the front.
  17. Watch BMW's 'The Hire' short films remastered in 4K source: https://uk.motor1.com/news/420963/bmw-the-hire-films-remastered/ The videos have never looked this good before. BMW scored a viral video hit in the early 2000s with its The Hire series of short films that put A+ talent in clips staring the brand's machines. Now, there's a fantastic opportunity to watch them again because all of the episodes are on YouTube in 4K resolution on the channel Second Wind. All of The Hire short films star Clive Owen as a character who simply goes by "The Driver." As the name of the series suggests, each episode has a person employing the wheelman to do something, and the event always happens behind the wheel of a BMW vehicle. BMW kicked off the series in 2001 with Ambush by John Frankenheimer. It proved to be one of his final directorial works before the director's passing in 2002. Season one also included entries from Oscar winners Ang Lee and Alejandro González Iñárritu. However, the most exciting entry in the first series came from director Guy Ritchie. He cast Madonna, who was his wife at the time, as a demanding celebrity. As the behest of her manager, The Driver gives the woman a wild ride while pretending to avoid paparazzi. All of this happens while Blur's "Song 2" plays. While the initial series of shorts switches BMW models for each entry, the BMW Z4, which was newly introduced at the time, starred in all of the second season's episodes. There were just three entries this time, but there was still top-tier directing talent like John Woo, Joe Carnahan, and Tony Scott. The series returned in 2016 for a single-video third season. Neill Blomkamp directed this entry. After The Hire series being dormant for so long, now might be a good time to revive the idea because BMW has plenty of new products on the way. The new M4 seems like an obvious model to highlight. Or, putting the iNext electric crossover in a star-studded short film could be a way to build interest in the vehicle.
  18. Despite many manufacturers equipping their cars with many safety systems onboard their cars, they do not make the car immune to the laws of physics as we can see from these videos below. front.MP4 We got hold of these videos via some of the various random group chats that have been circulating it and from the looks of it, the accident happened earlier this morning (9 Jan 2020) while the roads were greasy from the drizzle over the day. We are not sure which part of the ECP highway this is but what is clear is that the camera car was driving at his own pace on lane 2 before (what looks like) a group of 3 BMW F10 5 series overtaking the camera car. Unfortunately, one of them lost control while trying to overtake his mates due to the last min abrupt weight transfer as he did the sudden lane change from 1 to 3. 44db9e47-1ba5-44ab-a4c2-1ad0dc8180cd.MP4 We have no idea if the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) was turn off or was it too much even for the DSC to save in the first place? Kudos to BMW for building a decently strong car. Despite the seriousness of the crash, the car still looked like it held up pretty well. Anyway, with the recent rainy weather, do take extra care when on the roads and make sure your tyres have enough thread!
  19. We thought things like this only happens in the movies but as it turns out, there are people doing this in real life as well! As seen on a Facebook post by SG Road Vigilante, the owner of this red 7-seater BMW 216D Grand Tourer wrote in to the page claiming that another BMW 2 Series in a similar shade of red has been using their number plate, chalking up fines they were not responsible for. However, this red 2 Series is a 5-seater variant that is called the Active Tourer and it looks largely similar as you can see from the screenshots taken from BMW Singapore's website. Reproduced below is an extract from the rightful owner of the plate SGX821M that was in SGRV's post. Hi, I was notified that you posted a video back in July on a speeding car with my license plate #SGX821M. I would like to highlight that THAT is not my car. Someone is impersonating us using our license plate. I drive a 7 seater BMW 2 series while the car in the video was a 5 seater 2 series. We were issued fines that we are not responsible for. AND my husband literally drove past the idiot this morning bearing our license plate while we were dropping our kids off to school. We couldn’t give chase because we were on opposite sides of the road. I have lodged a police report and have notified the LTA. We are awaiting investigations. If you happen to see the car, please help update the police on its whereabouts. Check out the video of the imposter who was also featured on SGRV before.
  20. Drink-driving is never good and this is just another one of many unnecessary accidents that are caused by driving after being intoxicated with alcohol. As seen on ROADS.sg, this BMW 2 Series Grand Tourer lost control of his car and crashed into the sidewalk along Serangoon Road and Rowell Road junction on 29 Dec 2020 at 17.06 pm. Unfortunately a couple of pedestrians were hurt but we don't know the exact details. Thankfully, the accident did not take anyone's life. Naturally, netizens showed the BMW driver no mercy... Watch the full video here! We especially like the fast manoeuvre the man in the dark blue polo had to pull to get away from the crash!
  21. i have been waiting for this car to arrive if the front grille looks like this sibei sianz liao kia grille looks better ...
  22. Hi all, Was looking around to find a thread for the new BMW X1 but couldn't find one. Any bros driving or have drove the new X1 before care to share? Old Car COE almost up, looking at Passat, 3series, C-Class and X1. 3 series and C Class rear space maybe a bit small so considering X1 which seems like a very nice car!
  23. BMW and Apple Are Teaming Up to Make Your iPhone a Car Key, iOS Leak Reveals source: https://gearpatrol.com/2020/03/26/bmw-and-apple-are-teaming-up-to-make-your-iphone-a-car-key-ios-leak-reveals/ Next time you go to kit up before heading out of the house — y’know, loading your everyday carry equipment like wallet, keys and pocketknife into your pockets — take a second to notice the weight of your car keys in your pants. Do they feel awkward or excessive? Is the combined weight of your EDC threatening to overwhelm your belt? Do they feel like you have just one item too many? Well, if so, BMW and Apple may just have the answer. When the next generation of iOS rolls out later this year, it will apparently include the ability to use your iPhone as a car key. That’s the word from 9to5mac, which found the code for buried in a beta version of iOS. According to the report, the feature — cleverly dubbed “CarKey” — will be available in iOS 14, which is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2020; while it’s still unclear exactly what features it’ll feature, 9to5mac‘s deep digging into the technology involved and the known facts has them believing that the CarKey system will enable BMW drivers to lock, unlock, and drive their cars just like a regular key would. Unlike a regular car key, however, CarKey would also enable users to share their virtual fobs via Messages if they want to give a friend access to their ride; it’d also keep the keys in your phone’s Wallet, enabling you to use Face ID or Touch ID verification to open or start the car. While the CarKey system, presumably, would eventually roll out to other automakers, the report suggests BMW will be the first car company to offer the tech when it goes live. It’s not a surprising choice, as Bimmer and Apple have partnered to launch automotive technology before; after all, the Bavarian Motor Works was the first brand to offer wireless Apple CarPlay, even if they chose to do so with an irritating subscription-based plan for quite a while. Now, this isn’t a wholly new idea. Tesla has been offering it on the Model 3 for years; in fact, your Bluetooth-enabled, Tesla app-equipped smartphone is the default key for the car. (A thin NFC chip-enabled card serves as the backup.) Other carmakers like Buick and Volvo don’t go quite as far, but they do offer certain app-based functions, such as the ability to lock and unlock your car via your phone from a distance (assuming, of course, your car has a cellular connection). If this seems like another case of tech trying to replace something that doesn’t need reinventing, well, you’re not alone. “I feel like you’d have to be insane to do this!” tech editor Eric Limer says of the idea. A fair point; then again, we’re not sure if he’s ever had to grapple with one of BMW’s giant, newfangled LCD screen-packed key fobs.

  25. https://www.motor1.com/news/422885/bmw-x5-protection-bullet-video-ad/ How often do you see an ad for an armored car? We'd guess it's not a thing most people stumble across with any regularity. But it seems BMW is changing things up, unveiling a new commercial for the BMW X5 Protection VR6. The 75-second spot features the X5 Protection VR6 in “THE RACE”, accelerating along a dusty trail before hitting paved roads as a gunshot rings out. Yes, the race is between the armored X5 and a bullet. In reality, there's no way the BMW wins this race. The Protection VR6 can handle impacts from the 7.62-millimeter round of an AK-47, a weapon that spits lead with a muzzle velocity of 715 meters per second, or just a hair under 1,600 miles per hour. This armored SUV, meanwhile, has an electronically limited top speed of 131 mph. It's really no contest. But the X5 doesn't need to outrun the unidentified bullet in this race. As the VIP sits comfortably in the Protection VR6's second row, the driver executes some evasive maneuvers before turning head-on to face the bullet. BMW doesn't show us the impact of this computer-generated round hitting the X5, but the aftermath is clear as the bullet, mushroomed by the impact, bounces harmlessly to the ground. For those that need a refresher, the X5 Protection VR6 starts life as an X5 M50i, packing a twin-turbocharged 4.4-lifter V8 with 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The VR6 in the Protection's name indicates its level of armor, which is also capable of shrugging off a close-by blast (just 13 feet away) from 33 pounds of TNT. While we can see the impact of the armor on the X5 Protection's handling in the ad, the additional weight has just a minor impact on straight-line performance. This armored SUV can still sprint to 62 in just 5.9 seconds, or 1.6 seconds behind the standard M50i.
