  1. I stumbled across this news from Australia, the Australian market is getting their own Camry called the Camry Atara. Comes with a 2.5 litre engine. Looks more masculine than the Camry sold locally. Feast your eyes at the URL below.. http://www.caradvice.com.au/134224/2011-to...ia-in-november/
  2. hi bro out there, I need some help with my camry. Recently been hearing some strange noise seem to come from the front left drive shalf. Not sure is it tyre or drive shalf or something else. 3. [extract] The all new 2012 Toyota Camry has just arrived at our shores. It is available as a 2.0L, 2.5L and 2.5L hybrid. According to a recent interview conducted by sgcarmart with the Camry
  4. Anyone went BM yesterday and today to enquire about this? On paper it states not limited to juz this 2 model.
  5. Just curious...with the recent launch of the Honda Accord...which is your choice?still the bulky camry or the high tech accord?
  6. The North American version of the new Toyota Camry was launched recently. Now, here are some official images of another version of the new Camry, released by Toyota Ukraine. Looking more refined than the North American version, the model has a larger grille, a different front fascia and circular fog lights, making it look like a baby Lexus LS460. This should please buyers who are looking for a car that looks more expensive than what they paid for. At the rear, changes are minor and include a restyled bumper and taillights. The side profile of both versions are similar. Inside, the dark grey cabin has a new dashboard, metallic accents and plenty of wood trim. The controls are logically placed. The overall feel is rather conservative and I guess Toyota does not want to rock the boat too much. There are 2 engine options available for the Ukrainian market - a 2.5 liter inline 4 making 180 PS and a 3.5 liter V6 making 277 PS, both with 6-speed automatic transmission. Thank god that the new model

  11. Toyota announced facelift Camry in Detriot Autoshow: -Exterior looks very similar to the existing JDM Camry -Major change including new 2.5l engine and 6-speed automatic - not sure will BM bring in this configuration http://wot.motortrend.com/6415201/auto-new...2010/index.html "Letting a car sit on the vine without any changes for a long time is no way to maintain a sales crown so for 2010, Toyota is giving the Camry -- America's best selling car for the last seven years -- a minor maker over. The seventh-generation midsize sedan heads into its fourth model year with minor changes to its sheetmetal, a new four-cylinder engine, and several new features. The cosmetic changes to the exterior consist of a new grille and front bumper, a larger lower intake, larger headlights and restyled tail lights. Every trim of the car gets new rolling stock as well. Base and LE models receive new wheelcovers, XLE models get new ten-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels and SE models get new 17-inch alloys. The Camry Hybrid receives its own grille and bumper along with a wider lower intake, restyled fog lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. For four-cylinder models, the 158-hp 2.4L unit makes way for a 2.5L mill that makes 169 hp in base, LE, and XLE models and 179 hp in the sport-oriented SE trim. Gone too are the five-speed manual and automatic, replaced with six-speed versions. Toyota did not say how the new engine affects the four-cylinder Camry's fuel economy and the 268-hp V-6 is unchanged. Toyota finishes up the changes to the 2010 Camry with the addition of several features including stability and traction control and auto up/down power windows on all four doors as standard on all trims, an optional audio system for base and LE models that adds a USB port, Bluetooth, integrated satellite radio, and MP3/streaming music capability. The Camry Hybrid receives a new gauge cluster and cloth seating surfaces made of a fabric called Fraichir, a combination of silk protein and synthetic fiber. Pricing will not be announced until closer to the car's March on-sale date."

  14. Bros, contemplating between the 2. currently driving a year 2003 mazda 6. Like the car as it is reliable and has good handling. Drove a friend's Camry before too. Like the spaciousness and size. Between, price, not much a difference though i feel the Mazda 6 has more features than the Camry. Any thoughts ? Thanks
  15. got the intension to switch from cl7a to camry 2.4 due to bigger space, quietness and bigger cc of camry 2.4. during the test drive, i found that the low end torque is quite ok and gives the feeling of lightness despite heavy body. however when i was about to drive out to the main road, i try to floor the throttle and ramp the engine to feel the responsiveness, i am surprise to see the car won't move at all. all i can feel was like the car just move linearly no matter how hard i floor the throttle. i am quite dissapointed.....anyone can comment?
  16. The less frills the better....less court case. No wonder the cars in Singapore are so basic and bare......less complaints from the owners. http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/sub/news/s...,353882,00.html? Toyota advises removal of driver-side floor mats Pedals may get stuck on them, causing accidents (TOKYO) Two years before the fatal accident that prompted Toyota to warn 3.8 million American car owners to take out floor mats, Troy Johnson died in a crash also suspected of being caused by a floor mat jamming an accelerator. Melodie Bohuchot, the widow, pleaded with Toyota Motor Corp yesterday to act quickly to prevent any more accidents. Earlier this week, Toyota informed the US government that it will be sending letters by first-class mail to owners of the best-selling Camry, the Prius hybrid and other models to remove floor mats on the driver's side and not replace them. It was the second time in a little over two years that Toyota has acknowledged problems with floor mats in the US. Toyota said that the gas pedal may get stuck when the floor mat is unsecured or incompatible, making it difficult to stop and potentially causing a crash that could result in serious injury or death. Toyota has also distributed a statement of warning through the media and on its website. It expects to begin sending the letters late this month and complete the effort in December. But Ms Bohuchot was worried that people may find out too late, and urged Toyota to get the word out immediately. Toyota spokesman Paul Nolasco said that it takes time to reach every customer. The latest recall - Toyota's biggest in the US - followed a a high-speed crash in August involving a 2009 Lexus ES350, that killed California Highway Patrol officer Mark Saylor, 45, his wife, 13-year-old daughter and brother-in-law. Mr Johnson, 39, was killed on July 26, 2007 - the same day he got a job as a dispatcher for a taxi company, and appeared on track to turning his life around after years of drug problems and being in and out of jail on assault charges. Mr Johnson's Honda Accord was hit from behind on a highway near San Jose, California, by a 2007 Toyota Camry, whose accelerator had gotten jammed by a Toyota-supplied floor mat, according to court documents. The Camry was speeding out-of-control at up to 190 kmh, and slammed into Mr Johnson's vehicle, killing him instantly. The car burst into flames, burning his body beyond recognition, court records say. Toyota recalled the floor mats at that time. Charges against the driver of the Camry were dropped. Ms Bohuchot said that she bore no ill feelings towards him. Ms Bohuchot sued Toyota in the Santa Clara County Superior Court in California, and reached a settlement with the world's biggest car maker last year. Ms Bohuchot and her lawyers declined to disclose the amount. Last week, Toyota president Akio Toyoda apologised for the worries that the floor mat problems were causing for those who had bought Toyota vehicles believing in their safety. Toyota says that floor mats on the driver's side must be removed from the 2007-2010 model year Toyota Camry, 2005-2010 Toyota Avalon, 2004-2009 Toyota Prius, 2005-2010 Tacoma, 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra, 2007-2010 Lexus ES350 and 2006-2010 Lexus IS250/IS350. -- AP

  18. BM is bringing in 'tomyam' Hybrid Camry 2.4 and CNG Altis end of this month. The Camry is slightly higher than petrol version staring from $120K, but Altis is cheaper than petrol version starting at $80k. Camry's combined output is 190bhp, hits 100kn/h in 9 sec, fuel consumption is 6.1L/100km. Is it worth buying?
