  1. so after reading so many bad reviews about the civic hybrid and several good reviews about the pirus i'm wondering if 100% electric cars will be a good move in the near future, if the battery can withstand our sunny temperatures anybody got any experience to share? what is the lifespan of such batteries? the civic groups complain a whole lot about their batteries but the people who own the piruses seem to be very happy with their cars, so it does seem like a split down the middle
  2. Recently, I drove Honda Jazz. The engine was screaming and speed still increases. This is far cry from Honda Civic Hybrid from FD era. RPM moves but car still stationary.
  3. Hey Dudes!! It's me again! My car will be due for it's first vicom car inspection. I've got some worries here and hope brothers here can give me some useful advices. My ride : Honda Civic ES5 Auto, 2003 (Pre-facelift Civic) My engine, muffler, intake manifold, extractor, cat converter, exhaust.....all stock and original. However, I have a pair of Angel Eye, which is a dual halo projector headlights with 6000K HID installed. I'm worried that the inspector will fail becoz of my headlights and my HID as they're after-market accessories. How?? What should I do......it's really a big hassle to change everything back to original prior my inspection....
  4. The current 10th generation Civic was officially unveiled on 17 September 2015, and after close to 5 years, the next gen is on the horizon. The spy shots below shown the 5 door Type R variant, which look more upright than the current gen even though it was wearing heavy cladding. More spy shots of the other variants can be expected to surface very soon. Stay tuned.
  5. Hi, Just wonder, what do u guys think is the best ways to sell car so that I can fetch the highest price. Will some dealers able to match the price equivalent to selling direct? The problem about selling direct to buyers is the transaction of money, car test drive etc... Unwilling to part with my almost 3 yrs civic but my car is under utilised nowadays.
  6. At $240k, ppl rather buy GLB180. CRV is Cat B while GLB180 is Cat A. Civic overlap with Accord in a lot of countries. Most of times, Civic outsell Accord. In sg, Honda lost its USP for both models
  7. Mugen is preparing body kits, new exhausts, and other parts for the latest Honda Civic Type R. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/703238/honda-civic-type-r-by-mugen-for-2024-tokyo-auto-salon/ Mugen has over 50 years of experience in tuning and motorsport. The company has turned its attention to the Civic Type R by bringing a pair of modified examples to the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon that runs from January 12 through 14. They feature updated body kits and some mild performance tuning. Mugen calls the two flavors of modified Civic Type R the Group A and Group B. For now, there's only a single image of each car, but a video offers some additional details about each trim. Honda Civic Type R Group A by Mugen Honda Civic Type R Group B by Mugen The Group A kit is the milder one of the pair. Mugen adds a more aggressive front splitter and gives the front corner inlets a sharper shape. There are revised side sills and a reshaped wing out back. While not visible in this photo, the back bumper also has some styling changes. In all, it looks like something Honda could come up with for a special edition Type R from the factory. The Group B kit goes much further. It has the same front splitter and side inlets as the Group A, but there's also a carbon-fiber hood with lots of vents and slits. The top of the front fenders have additional openings to vent air from the wheel wells, while broad side sills give the flanks a more muscular appearance. Out back you'll find a tall wing and a modified bumper. The flamboyantly designed pieces give the Civic Type R a more stereotypical "tuner car" look that evokes the modded Civics from the early 2000s. These kits are not purely about aesthetics. Mugen used computational fluid dynamics to tune the pieces to help the Civic Type R's aerodynamic performance. The upgrades aren't limited to looks, either. Mugen is also developing new performance parts for the Type R. New dampers and BBS-sourced forged 19-inch wheels are part of the package. The Group A gets a stainless steel exhaust and new brake pads. The Group B has titanium pipes in addition to new brake calipers and rotors. Inside, the tuned Civic Type Rs feature a new steering wheel with Mugen branding on the bottom, bucket seats, a new shift knob, and carbon-fiber trim on the center console. Mugen will announce pricing for these parts at the Tokyo Auto Salon. We should also get a better look at the cars to see how much the body kits alter the Type R's appearance.
  8. Alot is myth or unbalance comparision. For example if u compare Nissan leaf with with or vezel. If not mistaken all around 1.5t. I dun believe leaf got much worst tyre wear rate compare to the other 2. I dun own ev so I cannot say. But my dealing with commercial EV. BYD VAN 16' tyres. 195 width. 50k+. No rotate. China tyre. Rear tyres still 80%. Front tyres also haven't finish can last at least another 10-20k Nv200 diesel. Tyre 14' 175 width. 30-40k no rotate. China tyre. Front confirm botak. I would say the wear roughly same. Byd seal weight about 2.2t. 5 series weight about 2t. Seal tyres wear will be much worst then 5 series? I dun think so.? But of course if u compare a seal as a normal sedan car and compare it to a altis etc or compare a Tesla to a civic and say EV burn tyres. What can I say😂 Does a atto 3 wear tyres much faster then say a X5? Or do we compare a atto 3 to a wish? EV have been out for ages. Even BMW make EV earier then BYD? why now suddenly the west raise the white flag on EV. then suddenly so many such news come out🤔. For so many years I never see any similar report. Of course if every 1 drive their high end EV like going to F1. Confirm plus chop u gonna burn tyres fast. I test Tesla high end. Model Y. High power dun mean u cannot drive and pick up at traffic light gently. Of course. My 2 cents nia. ( some of the report on EV burn tyres is really 夸张。 machiam every 10-20k need change tyre. If like that u think think super niao prc will buy or not?)😂😂😂
  9. Car-free Sunday to return in March after four-year hiatus with games, workout and fashion show SINGAPORE – Come March 17, people will be able to walk, run and cycle on some roads in the Civic District and Central Business District (CBD), as Car-Free Sunday returns after a four-year hiatus. The event will run from 8am till 2pm, with designated roads closed to traffic from 8am to 11am. Visitors can try out inline skating and aeromodelling at two event spaces along St Andrew’s Road and Esplanade Drive. Other activities include an immersive installation, educational games, a mass piloxing workout and a guided walk of the Civic District Tree Trail. The Singapore Fashion Runway (SFR), a social enterprise that supports people with special needs or from disadvantaged groups, will launch a special Active Mobility collection at the event. The collection will include T-shirts, bucket hats, sling bags and zip pouches to be modelled by SFR youth, and can be bought off the SFR website. Bicycles can also be rented at the event. This is the first Car-Free Sunday since 2019, when a full 5.5km-long stretch of road from the Civic District to the CBD across the Esplanade Bridge was closed off on Oct 27. Then, the event was held from Friday to Sunday. Car-Free Sunday 2024 is a collaboration between the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Health Promotion Board, Housing Board, National Parks Board, Sport Singapore and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, LTA said in a statement on Feb 23. Car-Free Sunday was piloted in 2016 over a six-month period, with the last Sunday of each month designated as a car-free day. The 2024 event is aimed at creating greater public awareness of the benefits of walking, cycling and riding public transport as sustainable ways to travel. LTA’s chief executive Ng Lang said: “Besides promoting our car-lite goal and encouraging active mobility, we hope this edition of Car-Free Sunday can give the public a glimpse of what is possible when we reimagine our road spaces to be more Walk-Cycle-Ride-friendly.” More information about road closures and activities will be available on the Car-Free Sunday 2024 website closer to the event’s date. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/car-free-sunday-returns-on-march-17-after-four-year-hiatus-with-games-workout-and-fashion-show helping friend ask where to park car when going car free sunday ...
  10. In Sg, Ranger Raptor with 2L Diesel cost $189k w/o COE. This truck definitely fulfills your criteria. RM400k for Honda Civic Tyre R. RM500k for Merc A45s. It depends on how deep is your pocket.
  11. the accord has sorta lost its way other than being something u buy if u don't want the CRV (in the states). I still like the Civic. As of current pricing, i think PI Rav 4 Hybrid seems to be somehow cheaper than the CRV by a lot based on SGCM (no actual research done).
  12. Without seeking help from Google, can you guess which model is the donor for this fake Dodge Challenger? Coachbuilding is almost a lost art, but Japanese company Mitsuoka is trying to keep the magic alive. It has built some weird cars over the years, including a retro Miata that looked like a Morgan Aero 8 and a Jaguar XK120 had an affair. The most unconventional build in recent memory was this – the M55. Initially a concept, the fake muscle car is going into production. Unveiled in November 2023 to celebrate Mitsuoka's 55th anniversary, the quirky Dodge Challenger lookalike is actually a Honda Civic underneath its vintage body. In the months that have passed, the company has received more than 1,300 messages from people wanting to buy the contraption: "This was the first time for us to receive such passionate messages directly from so many people of all ages and both sexes." Due to popular demand, Mitsuoka has decided to make the M55 a reality. However, it's going to take a while. The company intends to have the car on sale near the end of 2025. Additional details are yet to be disclosed but we'll remind you the concept was based on the Civic five-door hatchback and had a 1.5-liter engine hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox. While the car's front says Challenger, the rear makes us think of 1970s Japanese coupes, such as a Nissan Skyline or a Mitsubishi Galant GTO. The profile is an obvious reminder that the automotive oddity is a Civic at its core. Inside, Mitsuoka went through the trouble of adding retro-looking blue upholstery and it swapped out the Honda badge on the steering wheel for its logo. Mitsuoka certainly has imagination, and there are apparently enough people interested to warrant the development of a production model. This is more than just a comprehensive body kit since the headlights and taillights are also tailor-made, as is the front grille. The rear window louvers seem to take inspiration from a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Mitsuoka reckons it won't be able to build enough cars to meet demand because the conversion will take time since all necessary changes will be performed manually. Pricing has yet to be disclosed but given the extent of the modifications, it's safe to say it won't be cheap.
  13. I sold my civic and bought a brand new Fortuner when I was based and worked in BKK yrs ago Coming back to SG, have to get use to paying high for a smaller car.
  14. By right altis usually will have a brand new model when the current model is around 5 years. But this current altis since launched in end 2019 until now, seems like they did not facelift much and many times. Unlike the last few generation of altis, they always facelift more than 1 time, like have different rims, interior and exterior design which really can see the difference. Will BM participate in coming Car at Expo? Seldom see civic on the road could be due to the price for this car is too ex liao. No one will buy.
  15. I think this Altis will be the last facelift design for this variant, the next version 2025/2026 will be brand new design like that US just like the Camry 9th gen XV80 that was introduced last year in US as our SG Camry still XV70. Did BM stop selling the hybrid Altis even with latest facelift? Just nice April got Car at Expo at hall 5, will drop by and look at the Altis. Today then I know our Altis facelift have better spec than latest poor Honda Civic that was not seen much on SG roads.
  16. Even in MY, it is the most expensive civic (excl Type R). Buy Civic RM200k will kenna suan "siao ah".
  17. @Confusedboi Many years back the popular Civic 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 was everywhere in sg roads even more than the Toyota Corolla (that time still Japan spec, not Thai Altis), then the peak is over, civic sales going downhill since then in SG which is so sad.
  18. Tiagong the Civic driver posted the video on facebook to complain, saying he got penalized by his insurer for this incident. So it seems like regardless of the other party's speed, if you enter main road without checking and get whacked, it's your liability to bear
  19. How to compare 2L vs 1.5L? That's why a lot of good review on Civic/CRV Hybrid. It is 2L hybrid. In addition, Freed hybrid is ole tech now.
  20. Thank you for a nice evening and the great seats.. The food place was called Black and White - very decent food at very nice prices. The movie was not at the level of Ford Vs Ferrari though, and the Gold Class seats were too comfortable, so I got really sleepy.. Long day, so didn't interact with the bros... headed home to crash... thank you Jack Cars, SG and all for the event. Not Ford vs Ferrari for sure More like a budget Netflix show Not enough intensity and focus Eg the rival was more like mild pepper than scalding hot Nice seats with good food the highlight was actually seeing and sitting in the ZRV.. spacious but seats a bit too low slung Ala civic for my liking Cheers
  21. It might be possible for pickup to reverse and drive out. Why waste time with the Civic? 🤷‍♂️
  22. Never stayed in Hatten before but I think I heard from my parents that the standard of Holiday Inn is better than Hatten... the one significant benefit is that Hatten is right in the mix for shopping and food, whereas Holiday Inn is kind of out of the zone... although Holiday Inn provides free shuttle bus to and from the main shopping malls and also civic district... just that need to watch the time... a bit more restrictive... I prefer not to drive to the shopping malls cos parking can be a bit of a nightmare... my parents prefer the shuttle I prefer to drive myself... so your mileage may vary... hope this helps...
  23. My home and workplace don't seem ready for electric within next few years. So definitely i will get a hybrid. But on the other hand, the honda civic 2.0 eHEV sure high price in SG, so definitely bo hua to get.
  24. https://paultan.org/2024/02/09/pdrm-gains-honda-civic-fe-in-patrol-vehicle-fleet/ Our neighbour across the causeway getting the new Civic. 😀
