  3. Hi Bros, I have a 10yr old Corolla (model ZZE121R) that has a knocking sound when turning + acceleration. By right it's the CV Joints. But when I checked with the stockists, (Ric Tat / Fong Tat), I understood that this car doesn't have CV Joints sold separately. It's a complete set with the Drive Shaft. Ok but the main problem is that they no longer carry this stock because they said lesser ppl are asking for this already. Does anyone knows how to go about replacing this part? Also, I'm looking for the "door stay" (small mechanism that acts like a absorber to prevent the door from swinging out). Can't find this part from the above 2 shops. But Ric Tat is ordering this in, in about 1-2 mths lead time.
  4. as above, looking for anyone who might have the mentioned above and want to sell! lemme know guys thanks!
  5. To lady driver of white corolla altis SFU205** You almost cause an accident today along Dunearn Road towards city. You drove recklessly across 3 lanes from the left without checking your mirrors and came into my lane. I was just cruising on lane 1 and I had to whack my brakes so hard . Immediately I blasted the horn out of you and you just carried on totally ignorant of whats happening. Pls wake up and stop being a nuisance on the road ! To all female drivers out there, its okay to be slow but pls don't be reckless. think before you make a move.

  9. Corolla enthusiasts happy laio, another option landed Singapore The Toyota Corolla Fielder is the latest generation Corolla hatchback. It is available in 1.5-litre and 1.8-litre engine variations (Singapore only 1.5-litre available) . Both comes with Super CVT-i (Super Continuously Variable Transmission-intelligent) transmission that provides outstanding cruising and environmental performance. The Corolla Fielder features the world's first one-touch double-folding rear seats with backrests that can be folded flat with a single flip of a lever located in the rear cargo space. Key components of the front and rear suspensions has also been optimally tuned to provide brisk maneuvering and cruising stability, as well as a comfortable ride. The Corolla Fielder has a fuel efficiency of 17.2km/l. An Eco Drive Indicator lights up when the vehicle is being efficiently operated to raise the driver's awareness of environmentally considerate driving and contribute to higher fuel efficiency. Inside the cabin, the backseat floor hump has been minimized to create flat-surfaced legroom, enabling three adults to sit in the rear comfortably. The driver gets a steering wheel with a telescoping function that allows its position to be adjusted front to rear for a comfortable driving posture. To enhance visibility, the top surface of the instrument panel is low while the front pillars have been extended forward and made slimmer. 13. Extracted off VOGS: TOYOTA LAUNCHES HOTTER COROLLA Supercharged VVTL engine boosts torque, driveability Toyota has launched a hotter Corolla, one that it describes as "faster, more powerful and has better handling and more street presence than ever before". We'll take the street presence claim with a pinch of salt (as with all such claims), but the company has beefed up the car by adding a supercharger to its high-revving VVTL-i engine, the same zingy mill that sits in the Lotus Elise. While in the Lotus, the motor has under 1,000Kg to shove, but the Toyota Corolla 1.8 VVTL-i Sport is a chunkier kettle of fish at 1,255Kg. So keeping the Corolla moving quickly means remaining in the 6,000-8,000rpm powerband. Not always ideal and eventually tiring. It also makes for lethargic performance when the engine's working outside that powerband. The new Corolla Compressor uses the same 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine as the Sport but the supercharger boosts output from 189bhp to 215bhp. That helps knock 1.5 seconds off the car抯 0-62mph acceleration time, down to 6.9 seconds, and adds 3mph to the top speed, now 143mph. With extra torque at lower engine speeds a maximum 159lb-ft at 4,000rpm the Compressor is more flexible. Toyota claimed fifth gear acceleration from 50 to 75mph in 8.5 seconds, while 37 to 62mph in fourth took only 6.1 seconds. To accompany the power hike, the Compressor is fettled with 15mm lowered sports suspension and uprated springs. It also gets 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/45 tyres plus a roof spoiler, rear air dam and sports exhaust with twin tailpipes. Toyota has also added adjustments to meet Euro IV emissions standards. Only 250 right-hand drive Corolla Compressor models are being made available in the UK. The model goes on sale on 1 November 2006, priced on-the-road at 9,995.
  14. an article on toyota corolla (sucessful but boring). sorry for the lengthy article. It's anonymous, unambitious and totally lacking in personality. But in its 40-year lifespan more than 32 million Toyota Corollas have left the production line - making it the biggest-selling car of all time. Now, the company that put Japanese motors on the map is to consign its most famous model to the scrapheap. Sean O'Grady celebrates the Corolla's charmless appeal, and owners from around the world describe their lives behind its wheel No son ever begged his dad to buy a Toyota Corolla. No one ever put a poster of the Corolla on their bedroom wall. For petrolheads the world over, the Corolla has always been the ultimate anti-car car, if not the anti-Christ. Judged against the more interesting machinery available at the time it was launched, in 1966, it was dull indeed. By comparison with the Mini, say, or the Citro

  18. Just caught up with an old friend last night and he was telling me that he traded in his 2000 Corolla 1.6A 6 mths ago for only S$40K to Tan Chong Motors for a Latio. His Corolla was just before its 6th year and he enjoyed 120% PARF. Tan Chong Motors paid him only a pathetic S$1,000 for his Corolla's body, which I felt was on the very low side. Japan made Corolla body is always in demand worldwide. Buyers beware!
  19. the armrest on my corolla altis 08 broke. where can i get a replacement? A new one from BM costs $500 and they currently dun have stock, need to indent
  20. does this rim fits on Corolla Altis 2008 model? g-games 77s
  21. 1. Hi guys, just to share the info that I've gathered from a car magazine on the new Corolla specifications: a) American version: - 1.8L D-VVTi, 2ZR-FE, 132hp/17.7kgm, 5MT/4AT - 2.4L VVTi, 2AZ-FE, 158/22.4, 5MT/5AT b) China version: - 1.6L D-VVTi, 1ZR-FE, 121/15.7, 5MT/4AT - 1.8L D-VVTi, 2ZR-FE, 134hp/17.9kgm, 5MT/4AT c) Euro version: - 1.4L VVTi, 4ZZ-FE, 97/13.3, 5MT - 1.6L D-VVTi, 1ZR-FE, 124/16.0, 5MT/5AT - 1.4L D-4D, 1ND-TV, 90/19.4, 5MT/5AT - 2.0L D-4D, 1AD-FTV, 126/30.6, 6MT d) Taiwan version: - 1.6L VVTi, 3ZZ-FE, 110/14.9, 4AT (Old Altis engine) - 1.8L D-VVTi, 2ZR-FE, 134hp/17.9kgm, 4AT 2. It seems like SG market probably follow the Taiwanese market in term of spec. All cars have standard dimension, 4540x1760mm and the wheelbase is 2600mm. From what I've read, they are predicting 80% chance that Toyota may introduce a Corolla 2.0L in view that Civic, Lancer, Mazda 3 & etc have 2.0 offering. They are likely to use the old 1AZ-FE(147hp/19.4kgm) engine from the proven Camry 2.0 if realized. Regards,
