  1. https://www.motortrend.com/news/ferrari-brake-failure-recall-2005-2022/ Ferrari Is Recalling Nearly Every Car It's Sold Since 2005 Even the LaFerrari is implicated in Ferrari's latest NHTSA recall for brake failure. Ferraris are mostly known for one thing: going fast. Perhaps they should be better known for their brakes, then. Anyone—in any car, almost—can go fast; it's stopping that matters. Now, Ferrari has a big stopping problem, with 19 of its models dating all the way back to 2005 reportedly at risk for potential brake failure, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
  2. My company bought a brand new goods vehicle from a dealer, a Suzuki Every with back seats and seat belts. However I have been informed by a friend that it is illegal to have people in the backseat.. My question is.. is this true? The seats are stock from the dealer and has seat belts.. Where can I find more info on it? TIA
  3. <The Suzuki Jimny Fuses With The Suzuki Every To Make The Cutest Overland Kei Car The custom Jimry is a Jimny with a sleeper compartment. Kind of. Photo: T-Style A tuner in Yokohama, Japan combined the looks and off-road capability of the Suzuki Jimny with the passenger capacity and space efficiency of the Suzuki Every. The combination producing what T-Style Design calls the Suzuki Jimry, an overland kei car that may not have the off-road chops of the Jimny, but certainly has the attitude. This is probably as close as we’ll get to a Jimny with sliding van doors and I love it. The Jimry is built using the Suzuki Every as a base according to Autocosmos, but it has some modifications to its suspension that make it more trail worthy. Photo: T-Style The stock Suzuki Every sits almost 6 inches off the ground, and the Jimry mods raise it by 1.5 inches for a total of 7.5 inches of ground clearance. The stock 13-inch tires are replaced by 14- or 15-inch tires, depending on the build. Some Jimry builds are 4WD, but not all. And others get even more ground clearance, up to four inches over stock. The Jimry keeps the Every’s 660cc three-cylinder engine to comply with Kei car regulations. That engine makes about 63 horespower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Many of the conversions from TSD come with a five-speed manual transmission, but some get an automatic gearbox. Other gear includes a top box and rooftop tent, along with custom mudguards and bumpers that add to the Jimny look. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the Jimny grille. The grille sits below what looks like the tiniest “hood” ever, but since the Suzuki Every is a cabover design, the hood is not covering an engine. And I’m unsure if it’s the stocky dimensions or stand-offish front end but I’m getting Hummer H2 vibes. Even then, I still can’t help but love all the Jimry builds. Photo: T-Style Photo: T-Style The mods keep going into the interior, which has slide-out storage compartments beneath a modular bed. The bed sits atop the rear seats when these are folded and it takes up the entire rear portion of the cabin. That’s only in one of the Jimry builds advertised by TSD, and it looks like the mods are made to suit the owner. Prices for the Jimry range from $21,725 to $22,337 or so. That’s for whole Jimry builds. Autocosmos reports that the modifications alone start at around $2,178. Photo: T-Style Photo: T-Style Photo: T-Style Photo: T-Style Photo: T-Style>
  4. Source: https://www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a36716650/fast-and-furious-movies-in-order/ So, let's start off with the obvious: Fast 9 looks wild, huh? Not only are Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese, and the rest of the gang back after far too long a wait (thanks to Covid-19, there hasn't been a proper Fast and Furious movie since 2017, the longest gap since the franchise began in 2001), but the movie they're returning for looks positively out-of-control. And whether you're a Fast and Furious veteran or a newcomer to the series (more on that in a little), that's what you're really coming for, right? Some of the nine existing movies in the Fast and Furious-verse are better than others, but whether they're he early movies in the series centered on underground street racing, or the later movies, which are....uh, basically about literal superhero spy heists and stuff, you're coming for the thrills. And if you're new to the whole Fast and Furious deal, it might be a bit confusing to jump right into. But it shouldn't be. Some of the titles are admittedly confusing. How is someone supposed to know that The Fast and the Furious is the first movie, but Fast & Furious is the fourth, and The Fate of the Furious is the eighth. What? It's definitely very confusing. And on top of that, the movies end up getting into some timeline trickery, where later movies take place prior to earlier movies. Yes, yes, far too complicated for movies that we're mostly watching for mind-blowing action, car chases, and Vin Diesel being a quasi-superhero. But honestly? Just deal with it. It's worth it. If you're new to the Furious-verse and looking to firmly entrench yourself in the family, well, you're in for a great time (and don't be surprised if you find yourself craving a Corona very soon). If you're going to watch all of the movies, we recommend watching them one way and one way only: the order in which they were released. But for whatever reason, that's not for everyone. Some people like to watch these movies in the chronological timeline order of the movies' events. We do not recommend this, especially not for newcomers. But in case you want to, you can. If you want to watch the Fast and Furious movies in their chronological timeline order, this is your best bet: The Fast and the Furious (2001) 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) Fast & Furious (2009) Fast Five (2011) Fast & Furious 6 (2013) The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) Furious 7 (2015) The Fate of the Furious (2017) Hobbs & Shaw (2019) But we recommend sticking with release date—the order in which every Fast and Furious movie came out in theaters. Even though the Fast and Furious movies mess around with the over-arching timeline quite a bit (mainly, we think, as a way to keep fan-favorite, chip-snacking speedster Han (Sung Kang) in the mix), we are always going to recommend watching the movies in the order in which they were released as opposed to the chronological timeline order. Just like with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and even the Fox X-Men movies, watching these movies in the order in which they were released allows you to have certain shocking reveals that change everything in the way they were intended theatrically. Watching otherwise may erase those thrills, or, even worse, give you a reveal that at the time makes little to no sense. So, without further ado, here's the order in which you should watch every Fast and Furious movie: The Fast and the Furious (2001) The story starts here. Sure, some day we'll probably get a prequel about Dom, Letty, Mia, and Brian's younger days, but for now the entire saga of family, cars, and Corona begins with low-level heists, drag racing in the street, and a wildly 2001 nu-metal-influenced soundtrack. The Vin Diesel/Paul Walker bromance begins, and you're in for a wild ride the rest of the way. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) 2 Fast 2 Furious is the only movie in the main Fast and Furious series to not feature the franchise's face and superstar, Vin Diesel. Still, despite Dom's absence, 2 Fast 2 Furious (which takes place chronologically after The Fast and the Furious) is still very silly, very fun, and very action packed. The story also introduces Ludacris as Tej and Tyrese Gibson as Roman, two characters who become crew mainstays over the course of the next...two decades. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) So here's where our timeline gets a little...twisted. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was originally seen as a soft reboot of the Fast and the Furious franchise, in that it starred neither Paul Walker nor Vin Diesel (nor Ludacris, nor Michelle Rodriguez, nor Tyrese). Instead, it moved the action to Japan, and introduced a street racer named Han (Sung Kang), who eventually became a fan-favorite. Some...events of this movie....made keeping Han around in future movies a little tricky. Hence some future playing around with timelines. Luckily, the movie ends with quite the Furious-verse cameo, which allows the wild timeline that establishes itself in future films. Fast & Furious (2009) We get back to our old pals Dom and Brian with Fast and Furious, the confusingly named fourth installment of the franchise. This is set after 2 Fast 2 Furious, but as we previously alluded, far before The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. We'll get there. The franchise doesn't hit its full speed here, but, again we're getting there. Fast Five (2011) Here's where things really, really enter a new gear. Fast Five adds The Rock to the movie's repertoire of players, while bringing back Ludacris and Tyrese, along with Gal Gadot, Sung Kang, and the rest of our heroes for...really just an absolutely legendary action movie. Legendary stuff here, and where the franchise finally realized its most important lesson: bigger, and most outrageous, is without a doubt better. Fast & Furious 6 (2013) Fast & Furious 6 picks up where Fast Five leaves off, in terms of being a supercharged, super team-up heist movie. But a couple things happen here: a new villain family is introduced (Luke Evans as Owen Shaw), and a credits scene with a new franchise character (Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw) reveals that the series' main timeline has finally caught up with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It may sound confusing, but it's not too bad. This is our last movie with the great Han for a little while. Furious 7 (2015) Cue the tears. Furious 7 is the last movie in the Fast and Furious series to feature the late Paul Walker (as Brian O'Conner), and the movie sends his character off in really as caring and delightful a way as they possibly could have. It helps the Furious 7 legacy that the movie itself might be the best one in the entire series; Deckard Shaw (Statham), in his first starring role in the franchise, is a more-than-formidable adversary, and has some really great fight scenes with both The Rock and Vin Diesel. Some incredible action along the way to the emotional end in this one. The Fate of the Furious (2017) There's no '8' in the title, but The Fate of the Furious is the eighth and most recent film in the main Fast and Furious series. This one introduces an Academy Award-winner (Charlize Theron) as a villain named Cipher who manages to turn Dom against the family. No Coronas any time soon. At this point, you've gotta know what you're getting, right? Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) Not technically part of the main Fast and Furious series, but the most recent entry in this cinematic world is Hobbs & Shaw, which spins off a comedic action tale on Luke Hobbs (The Rock) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). Yes, Shaw was introduced as a villain and became a hero....almost shockingly quickly. Whatever. It's fine. Don't think about it. Hobbs & Shaw is a blast, and finds the two titular heroes teaming up with Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as Shaw's sister, and taking on a super soldier played by Idris Elba. Sold. We don't know if or when The Rock and Statham will be returning to the main FF series (neither is in F9), but come on. It's going to happen. Enjoy! 🙂
  5. Today we have a Maserati driver revving his engine CRAZILY loud in a densely populated HDB area in Yishun. Unfortunately, it's not a one-off situation. Judging from the multiple video shots, it seems like the driver lives there. The revving is ridiculously LOUD, and it peaks right after the car picks up speed. Imagine hearing this repeatedly EVERY SINGLE TIME he drives his car! Sadly, there's no face to pin to this driver. Watch the video and I promise you'll find the noise pollution super annoying too. In the video of the car park, you can distinctly hear the piercing rumble of the Maserati's exhaust echo throughout the entire carpark. Yes, you have money to buy a Maserati, but do you need to be such a **** to the rest of the neighbours? Also, I'm sure you don't need to floor the accelerator to go around the carpark, right? I don't even live there and I'm crying. My heart goes out to all the Yishun peeps. So the big question - Do you think the driver modified the exhaust? Or its stock? Sounds modded to me. Modifications are cool, but not if you're causing a ruckus day and night.
  6. Even as recently as the 1990s, online technology was seen as something of a novelty. And yet, in 2021, it's impossible to imagine life without such technology. Being 'online' has become an integral part of all our lives, and it's clear that human behaviour has been significantly impacted by our interaction with devices like our smartphones. Complex levels of technology and digital connectivity have also unsurprisingly made their way into our vehicles. Technology has of course made cars safer, faster, and more capable, but it has the ability to also transform our relationship with our vehicles. More than just a mode of transport, modern cars are able to make our lives better, easier and more convenient. Take the new Mercedes me connect, a suite of smart features and online services that has the ability to integrate seamlessly into your daily routines. Found on new models such as the new Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC, Mercedes me connect extends connectivity beyond your vehicle, and into your smartphone and beyond. Here, we look at how digital connectivity features are fundamentally integrated into the digital ecosystem of our daily lives. Your digital relationship with your vehicle begins even before you set foot into the car. Getting started is simple - simply download the Mercedes me 2020 app (available on the Apple and Google Play Store), register an account, pair to an Meredes me connect-enabled car, and authenticate at Mercedes-Benz Center for access to the full suite of features. You can pull up key information about the status of your vehicle, including available range, lock status, tyre pressure, and brake fluid and coolant levels. Technology also allows you to activate a variety of functions and services even before you get to your car, including unlocking the car from afar. Worried that the cabin is going to be too hot? You can ventilate the car by remotely opening the windows sunroof. While you're waiting, you can also utilise the app's Send2Car functionality to plan out your journey. Simply open up the map on the app, search for your intended destination, and choose your preferred route. Once done, you can send the route information to the car, which will then be automatically queued up in the navigation system. One function that drivers in Singapore will find particularly useful is the app's ability to show you information about parking spaces, including real-time pricing and space availability. Inside the car, you can also take advantage of the what3words - it uses a 3x3m grid to allow you to search destinations on the map with pin-point accuracy. Wondering where to go? Mercedes me connect allows you to quickly search for restaurants and cafes from within the vehicle, with suggestions based on your location as well as Yelp reviews. When you do get to your destination, just because you are away from your vehicle doesn't mean that you no longer have any control. When you do step away, you can continue to monitor the status of your car. A useful feature like Valet Protect allows you to monitor your vehicle while its parked, with the app notifying if the ignition is turned on, or the car driven beyond a pre-determined geo-fenced radius. This provides you maximum security for your Mercedes-Benz during your absence, as you'll know if your vehicle is being driven without your authorisation. Can't remember where you parked your vehicle? Using the Parked Vehicle Locator, the app will show the location of the vehicle on the map and will suggest a walking route to your car from your current location. You can also use the app to flash the car's head lights, allowing you to spot it from afar. The app also gives you visibility of your vehicle even when you're not driving it. By using the Speed Alert feature, you can get the app to notify you when the car is driven above a defined speed limit. This can be especially useful when your son is out on a Friday night with his friends - he better not be speeding in your prized Mercedes-Benz! With the Geofencing function, you can also be notified when the car enters and leaves various user-defined zones. While perhaps not necessary when you're behind the wheel, it can be very useful for being sure that when your son says he's heading to Chomp Chomp for supper, he really is going to Chomp Chomp. And of course, technology also makes your life in the vehicle better. Beyond just the wealth of vehicle and driving-related functions, the MMC app can also be used to tailor different profiles for different users. You can add up to six co-users, meaning that each member of the family can have a different profile, which can adjust a range of car settings, including display styles, interior lighting, as well as favourite shortcuts for quick access. These personal vehicle settings can be individualised at any time on the Mercedes me portal. Let's be honest, no one likes the hassle of car maintenance. Remembering when your last oil change was, whether your tyres need to be changed, when the car is due for a full service, these are all things we much rather not think about. Thankfully, with modern technology, you no longer have to. The car can do all that for you, by keeping track of your maintenance schedule and vehicle mileage. It'll notify you when a service is due, and from the app you can very conveniently schedule a servicing appointment. When you do run into problems, whether its loss of tyre pressure, and engine warning light, or even a vehicle breakdown, assistance is one button away. By simply using the Me call button, you will be connected to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Care Center for assistance. In the unfortunate situation that you do get into accident and required immediate help in the case of an emergency, with the SOS emergency services, simply push the emergency call button and you will be directed to a call centre handling emergencies. With the advance of technology, our modern cars aren't just immensely more capable, they are also much more integrated into our digital lives. With Mercedes me connect, you gain access to a wealth of services that make your every moment seamlessly easier - not just in the car, but when you're away from the car as well. No matter what happens, you can depend on the knowledge that any assistance is just one click away. For customers that own Mercedes-Benz cars that do not come with Mercedes me connect from the factory, it can be retrofitted via a Mercedes me Adapter installed in the vehicle. The retrofit solution offers a selection of key features, including monitoring vehicle health, finding nearby parking or petrol stations, view statistics on trips made, and contact or book appointments at Mercedes-Benz Authorised Service Centers, among others. To find out more, you can check out www.mercedes-benz.com.sg/mercedesme or visit Mercedes-Benz Center for more information.
  7. Is it a myth to change engine oil every six months? Recently, I have received a message from my buddy and asking if it is a myth to change engine oil every six month? So some of you might be wondering, during this covid-19 period, my car mileage is not maximised until 10K, and do I still need to do an engine oil change? The dangers of not changing your oil Oil will break down over time due to high temperatures in the engine (known as thermal breakdown). Because of this, the oil isn’t capable of providing the necessary lubrication for metal parts after an extended period of use. Without lubrication, the moving joints in the engine will start rubbing against each other and cause premature wear. Oil also has a limited capacity on how much particulates it can hold. By not changing the oil, particles already in the oil will begin to settle and cause corrosion. One of the biggest dangers of not changing your oil is sludge buildup. Sludge occurs when old oil begins to gel or solidify in an engine. When sludge begins to build up, oil isn’t able to flow freely through the engine and can cause oil starvation to crankshafts, bearings, camshafts, and other valve train components not be lubricated. In time, this can cause major damage to the engine and, in the worst situations, require an engine replacement or rebuild. Choose Motul H-Tech 100 during this period! 8. 15 Things You Should Wipe Down in Your House Every Day source: https://www.msn.com/en-sg/lifestyle/health/15-things-you-should-wipe-down-in-your-house-every-day/ss-BB125Pf3?li=AAAHvo5 Even before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the truth is, we should have all been cleaning our homes more often—and more thoroughly—than we actually were. But now that we're being extra vigilant about protecting ourselves and our families from the coronavirus, it's more vital than ever to make sure that our homes stay as clean and virus-free as possible. And while we might be sweeping and dusting with regularity, we spoke to experts who stressed the importance of disinfecting your kitchen counters, door knobs, and a variety of other things they say you should wipe down every day. And remember: This everyday cleaning knowledge can help us well beyond the current chapter of uncertainty we find ourselves in. Once the world is back to a more secure place, we can take these lessons with us and make sure that our homes remain clean and safe on a daily basis. 1. Smartphone A month ago, you probably never considered cleaning your phone every day. But it's likely the one thing you touch more than anything else throughout the day. "If not wiped down with disinfectant, the handling of your iPhone after being in multiple places may counteract the benefits of handwashing," says Lucky Sekhon, MD, of Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York. Remember to wipe your phone down before and after calls, too. "Your mouth comes in close contact with the contaminated surface leading to an increased risk of transmission of contaminants," Sekhon says. For instructions on how to clean your phone, check out How Experts Say You Should Clean Your Phone to Stop Coronavirus Spread. 2. House keys "They're commonly put in your pants or jacket pocket and are touched every time you leave and return to your home—and possibly several times in between, while out doing errands," says Sekhon. So whenever you return home, scrub them down with a little disinfectant and leave them to dry by your door. 3. Eyeglasses If you wear glasses every day, you might not be aware of how often you're touching your face. "When adjusting your glasses, you often inadvertently touch your face and may be tempted to rub your eyes without washing your hands first," Sekhon says. "Droplets from a person's sneeze or cough could land on your glasses," she adds, so it's important to clean them throughout the day. 4. Door knobs and light switches These are some of the most commonly touched surfaces in your home. In fact, you probably touch them more than you think. "It is important to make a regular habit of disinfecting and wiping down all door knobs in the house, particularly those leading out and in through the front door of your home," says Sekhon. This goes for the light switches at the entrance of every room too—especially the ones by your front door. 5. Desk or work station "It is easy to forget the high risk of your desk getting contaminated from routinely placing items—smartphone, wallet, keys, etc.—on its surface," says Sekhon. That's why she recommends cleaning it daily—particularly now that you're likely working from home. Clear the surface of any items and use a multipurpose cleanser with a towel to prep it for the next day. To learn which other items you should give a daily scrubbing, check out 25 Things You Should Clean Every Day and How to Do It. 6. Communal electronics If you share electronics with family members, your spouse, or roommates, "it poses a significant risk of spreading germs/viral particles," Sekhon says. This includes everything from kitchen gadgets to gaming devices, tablets, and phones. While it might be unrealistic to clean all the electronics in your home on a daily basis, at least be mindful of when you're using something and if someone was using it before you or will be using it after you. 7. Remote controls Find yourself watching a lot of TV right now? No judgment here—we all are. But that means your remotes and other controllers are in desperate need of a good cleaning. Before you shut down for the night, try to remember to give them a quick wipe down with some kind of disinfectant. 8. Mail "Before you bring new packages and products into your house, wipe them down with some type of disinfectant," suggests Amy Vance, owner of EcoModern Concierge. "I would even consider doing this with just general mail as well." And once your mail and packages are inside, keep the mail area clean and uncluttered by wiping it down and recycling junk mail and empty boxes every night. For the tools that will keep your place sparkling, check out The 17 Best Cleaning Products for Keeping Your Home as Good as New. 9. Toilet handles Your toilet is a hot-bed of germs and nasty bacteria—and it's easy for them to multiply with repeated uses of your bathroom throughout the day. "We should be wiping down the toilet flush handles and buttons often," Vance says. Again, after you brush your teeth at night, wipe or spray the handles and give the outside of the toilet a quick cleanse. 10. Bathroom sink Your bathroom is the room where you go to get yourself clean, so you certainly want to make sure it's germ-free every day. "Give your bathroom sink and counters a quick wipe down after you brush your teeth," says professional organizer Tova Weinstock. "Keep some Clorox wipes next to your bathroom vanity for quick access." For more on COVID-19 cleaning tips, check out Is Coronavirus on My Clothes? Experts Weigh In. 11. Sink accessories You've already nailed the nightly sink-basin cleanse, but minimalism coach Rose Lounsbury suggests going the extra mile to ensure your sink area is as spotless as can be. "Those faucet handles are definite germ zones. And while you're at it, spritz down the pump on your soap dispenser," she says. You might not think about it, but your soap pump can hold onto all the contaminants from your unwashed hands. 12. Dining table "This is a place where food and hands meet, so you definitely want this to be germ-free," explains Lousbury. After each meal, use a simple multi-purpose cleaner to clear away crumbs, clean off the surface, and keep it free of bacteria and grime. This also ensures you won't pass on any germs to the next person who eats there. 13. Kitchen counter These days, you're probably using your kitchen counter several times a day, whether you're cooking meals or simply setting down the takeout food you just picked up. Weinstock suggests wiping your counter down each night to keep your kitchen germ free. "If there are dirty dishes that you can't get to before bed, leave them soaking in the sink overnight," she adds. They won't take up room on the counter, plus "they'll be way easier to clean in the morning." 14. Craft table/play area With your kids spending more time at home now, you're already doing your best to keep them clean and healthy. But you can't forget about the surfaces they use most often. When they're playing and crafting, you'll want to make sure their tables are clean and free of any germs. "Keep everyone healthy by giving their play surfaces a squirt of disinfectant daily," Lousbury advises. 15. Nightstands Your bedside table is more than likely the place where you put your phone every night before going to bed. It also may hold things like water bottles, hair ties, reading material, loose change, and more—all which have been exposed to germs at some point during the day. Besides, "this sacred space is close to your head all night, so leaving it clear and tidy will help you wake up on the right side of the bed and feel more in control," Weinstock adds. So clear away the clutter every day, and give it a good wipe down before you drift off to sleep.
  9. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/secondary-1-students-own-device-digital-learning-12498494 Haha the vendor/apple huat ah. Ipad obviously easiest for tablet since other tablets sure have some android or what not issue. Base laptop could be too expensive given u want something lightweight and portable for children. Or maybe a chromebook.
  10. Just sharing my own experience with Circles after reading an article on Stomp. For those who are on Circles.life, please check ur month billing after deductions. Been using Circles for nearing 2 years. Past few months I've had extra deductions for overseas data usage. Usually just negligible few cents that many people may not find worth the hassle to contact them for refund etc... For the overseas data charges, during those period I was indeed in Malaysia but data roaming already set to off and also using msia sim card. Contacted Circles.Life via the app chat and was refunded without much issues. Recently signed mum up with Circles as she was complaining Starhub bill ex and only 3GB data (on starhub old contract plan). Some hiccups with the initial signup but all was resolved. Monthly bill was $18 and would be $18 for the next 1 year. All was good until this month she told me this month her bill $38. Found it strange why $18. Never exceed also. Upon checking her app, noticed that the unlimited data setting was turned on hence the extra $20. Contacted circles via the app again and was told we'll receive the rebate in the next billing. shall see. Just read this news on stomp also seems like not a one off. For my mum's case, it was automatically set to ON for the month of October. Glitch?? Mum doesn't use the app. As with all monthly auto deductions be it credit card, debit card or giro, please make it a habit to check your bank statement. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/circleslife-gives-refund-after-stomper-finds-out-he-was-enrolled-in-unnecessary-add Circles.Life is performing a refund for a Stomper after he was automatically enrolled into an unnecessary add-on service that cost him an additional $20. Stomper Nautical said: "I terminated my line with another telco and ported over to Circles.Life. "Circles.Life has an $18 monthly subscription plan where I can get 20 gigabytes of data, so that got my attention and I subscribed to it on Oct 14. "Everything was great but after about three weeks, I received my bill. "I didn't select any of their Plus Options. The whole time I was subscribing and even before at the roadshows and websites, I never saw anything about this Plus Option. "Turns out, I was automatically enrolled in this service that gives me unlimited data. "Also, since my bill for the month of October should be pro-rated, I should be charged about $10 instead of $15. "I sent an email to Circles.Life on Nov 7 but didn't get a reply until yesterday (Nov 11). "They called me and apologised. They also said that they will waive the disputed charges. "I think they should be more transparent when it comes to billing. I was automatically enrolled and I don't even need that much data. "I only used about four gigabytes of data the previous month and my monthly subscription entitles me to 20, I don't need unlimited data at all. "What if other people were to be in a similar situation. "Some are not as tech-savvy or they may not have time to take note of these little details. Some people may find it troublesome to dispute these charges and would go ahead with paying for it. "I think it's unethical and Circles.Life should be more transparent in how they bill their customers." In response to a Stomp query, a Circles.Life spokesperson said: "We reached out to the customer via email and explained the situation. "We are also performing a refund for the disputed charge."
  11. Parents in Indonesia give toddler 5 glasses of coffee every day because they're too poor to buy milk https://www.asiaone.com/asia/parents-indonesia-give-toddler-5-glasses-coffee-every-day-because-theyre-too-poor-buy-milk?xtor=EREC-16-4[Emarsys_Newsletter]-20190919&extid=6934d0cfb7b252f1ae9f0dbddf5ff88ca8637e77 At first glance, Khadijah Haura looks just like any other toddler her age. At 2 years old, she is capable of walking on her own and actively plays to a point that her parents could not find the time to sleep. What sets her apart from many other kids, however, is that she has been consuming coffee instead of milk since she was 6 months old. Khadijah's parents, Sarifuddin and Anita -- residents of Tonro Lima village in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi, had no other choice but feed their daughter with five glasses, equal to 1.5 liters, of kopi tubruk, or brewed coffee. Anita and her husband, who worked as copra peelers, said they could not afford to buy milk given that their daily income of Rp 20,000 (S$2) could barely cover their expenses. "We can't do anything else. Our income is not enough to buy milk. We're forced to feed her coffee every day. She can't even sleep if she doesn't drink coffee; she'd cry asking for it before sleep," Anita told reporters at her house on Saturday, as reported by kompas.com. Both Anita and Sarifuddin said they solely relied on peeling copra for a living, besides helping lift rice from the fields during harvest season, through which they could earn some more money. On their lucky days, Anita and her husband could earn up to Rp 40,000 per day from peeling copra, but that was only if there were coconuts to be processed into copra. Otherwise, they would have to rest at home until there were enough coconuts to be processed. Anita couldn't help but express her concerns over her daughter's health, adding that she had never received milk or nutrition assistance from the local health agency. Polewali Mandar Health Agency's community health development head Mandaria Saleh said the agency had run a health check up on the toddler and found no abnormality in her growth and development. She noted, however, that the caffeine and sugar intake could harm the toddler in the long run. "We've asked the parents and the family of Khadijah not to continue with the coffee consumption. The health agency has distributed milk and complementary food assistance such as biscuits so that Khadijah could drink milk again and grow healthily like others her age," Mandaria said.
  12. It has been 45 years since Volkswagen commenced production of the Golf and more than 35 million units have been sold worldwide since. The Golf, which is also its best-selling model ever, is in its seventh generation now. The Golf Mk1 started production on 29th of March 1974 at Volkswagen's plant in Wolfsburg and was designed as the replacement of the iconic Beetle. It was an instant hit with buyers and just two years later, in October 1976, the German company sold its one millionth example. Fast forward to today's seventh generation, Volkswagen reckons that on average, someone is buying a new Golf every 41 seconds, every day, without interruption, for 45 years now. This year is likely to see the debut of the new eighth generation of the Golf. Information found on the web suggests that the car will debut around September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
  13. Hi Guys, got a question and need advice here. lets say car is FWD/RWD, rotate tyre at 10k. does it make sense to rotate next at 30k? since at 10k, lets say front tyre wear 20% and rear 10%, so after rotating and mileage at 20k, should be front and rear balanced, right? i know driving style play a part during the 10-20k, just saying generally.

  16. Hi all. I am considering buying these 2 drives for my sales business But need to ask which is more ideal Chavolet aveo auto. Left about 2 yrs. Monthly instalment 850. Still can renew coe and take back scrap. But heard it is high FC. And repair very expensive. Suzuki Every. Renewed one round of 5yr coe already. Loan period about 4 yr plus. Monthly instalment 680. Can use to carry goods and got rear seats. But will it be as high FC as aveo? Or worst? And the engine is below driver seat. This will be a hazard in long run? Or it is not so bad as it seems? Anyone can verify?
  17. Ford has revealed that its GT is significantly more advanced than most people think. It is said to generate around 100GB of data every hour thanks to the 50 plus different sensors found in the car that monitors everything from the position of the pedals to the amount of humidity in the air. Equivalent to around 25,000 music downloads, the huge amount of data is processed by 25 onboard computing systems that are controlled by 10 million lines of code. Ford says that is more code than used on the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II and it allows the car to go through 300MB of data every second. "By constantly monitoring inputs, vehicle loads and environment, and adjusting the car’s profile and responses to suit, the Ford GT remains as responsive and stable at 289km/h as it is at 28km/h.”, says Ford Performance global director Dave Pericak.
  18. Tesla has announced a suite of hardware changes to all its models, which in the future, will allow for full self-driving. This includes the upcoming entry-level Model 3. The news came in an official blog post which confirmed that every Tesla vehicle built from today, will be installed with eight cameras providing 360 degrees of visibility around the car at up to 250 metres of range. Of the eight, three of the cameras will be front-facing. Also, the count of ultrasonic sensors has been increased to 12 and are now updated to have the ability of detecting objects almost twice the distance of the its predecessor. Lastly, an improved front-facing radar which utilises a redundant wavelength to enable the vehicle to see through heavy rain, fog, dust and even the vehicle ahead. To process all the additional information from the cameras and sensors, Tesla has given its cars an improved onboard Nvidia GPU Titan computer that is suppose to have 40 times more computing power than the previous setup. There is a catch to the upgrade though. As the system is still new, features such as collision warning, lane holding, active cruise control and automatic emergency braking are now disabled as some calibration is needed before they can be implemented. Interestingly, these calibration will be done via real-world driving where data will be provided by the firm's customers when they use the car. Once the features have been validated with the new hardware, they will be enabled over the air.

  21. According to Reuters, Tesla had to cut its production targets for the 2015 year down to 50,000-55,000 vehicles after releasing how much it is losing. It is said that Tesla is losing $4000 (S$5571) on every Model S they sell after taking into consideration the operating losses of the company which amounted to $47million (S$65.5million). Shares of the electric car company fell almost 9 percent last Thursday with another 2 percent slip on Friday. Analysts predict that a capital raise is probably on its way as Tesla’s reserves were standing at just $1.15billion (S$1.60billion) on 30th of June , down from $2.67billion (S$3.72billion) a year ago, a reduction that's partly due to investments for the production start of the new Model X electric crossover.
