  1. Are you familiar with those 'guai lan' drivers that speed up to prevent you from changing lanes or merging by blocking you on purpose? I swear this type of driver infuriates me. Watch this video and witness an 'instant karma' moment for one such driver: What Happened? The accident occurred along the Seletar Expressway (SLE). The cam vehicle was travelling on lane 3, the left-most lane of SLE. Despite a white Subaru Forester attempting to merge into SLE, the cam vehicle decided not to give a hoot about the white SUV and continued travelling alongside it. As the Subaru driver sped up to merge in front of the cam vehicle, the cam vehicle 'coincidentally' accelerated too. This manoeuvre by the cam vehicle prevented the Subaru SUV from merging into the SLE and forced the SUV to drive on the road shoulder before merging onto the SLE. Instant Karma in 3, 2, 1... After witnessing the Subaru's alarming actions, the lorry in front of the cam vehicle panic-braked in a moment of folly. As a result, the cam vehicle could not react in time and ended up 'kissing' the back of the lorry. If you consider the height and angle of the dashcam, the cam vehicle is likely to be a commercial vehicle. Therefore, I highly question the actions of the cam vehicle. Is there a need to be so 'guai lan'??? Look what it got you - Your just desserts. Oh, don't forget those repair fees and demerit points as well! Netizens' Comments Cam vehicle driver post online to show it's the Subaru's fault due to it driving on the road shoulder and its tinted tail lights😰 What a way to start the new year! 2. Trust me when I say this - roundabouts are one of those places that you will frequently encounter either a clueless, confused or reckless driver. I've had my fair share of experience with these types of drivers at the roundabout located along Tuas Road. This video is a prime example of a problematic driver at a roundabout: This accident happened along the roundabout at Suntec City. What happened? In the video, a Subaru Forester is seen travelling on lane 2 of the roundabout, with an e-bike and a Kia Cerato right next to him on lane 1. All seemed well until this noob Forester driver turned on his blinkers at the last minute and made an abrupt lane change to exit the roundabout from lane 2. As a result, the e-bike rider was knocked down by the Forester driver. Yes, I am pretty sure the Forester driver did not check his blind spot while performing this last-minute manoeuvre. Netizens' comments This is the sad truth - "Many people are still clueless about how to drive in a roundabout". Couldn't agree more. Hello, did you remember to eat your medication??? For those people that share similar sentiments to this fella, do read the PSA below. Public Service Announcement For those who are clueless about using a roundabout, say no more - I've got your back. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 3. 2022 Subaru Forester Facelift Rendered To Strip Off The Camouflage source: https://www.motor1.com/news/463700/2022-subaru-forester-facelift-rendering/ The changes are subtle but keep the crossover looking modern. The Subaru Forester is on track to be the brand's bestselling model in the United States in 2020, and the company is doubling down on the success by preparing a refresh for the popular crossover. After seeing spy shots of the updated model, the folks at Kolesa have a rendering imagining how it might look. As with most refreshes, don't expect any revolutionary design changes. The comparison below shows the 2022 model with a boxier grille and relocated crosspiece that shifts the Subaru badge lower on the vehicle's face. The revised lower fascia has somewhat larger openings in the corners, and the fog lights remain there. The opening in the center is bigger, too. Expect only the smallest changes along the Forester's flanks. Subaru might change some of the trim, but the crossover is going to look the same, in general. The changes to the rear are very minor. A revised bumper no longer has an opening for the exhaust outlet, which creates a somewhat cleaner appearance back there. The hatchback is a bit smoother, too. There are no details yet about how Subaru might change the refreshed Forester's interior. The usual recipe these days involves updating the infotainment system with a bigger screen and tweaking the cabin's materials. Powertrain changes are similarly mysterious. Expect the 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine to stick around. In a dream world, Subaru would re-introduce a turbocharged version of the Forester by installing the brand's 260-horsepower (194-kilowatt) 2.4-liter powerplant into the crossover. Although, there's no evidence that this is what the automaker plans to do. Look for the refreshed Forester to debut in the first few months of 2021. Sales should begin in the second half of the year.
  4. Subaru Forester came in for Triple Carbon Clean. Benefits: 1. Restore Performance 2. Reinstate fuel economy. Guaranteed satisfaction. Suitable for all Mercedes/BMW/Audi/VW/Mini/Toyota/Honda/Subaru/Kia and all other Continental & Asian cars. To get back the power, Message 8123-0543 for appointment.
  5. HI, I just collected my car today and I request for some kind advice, please. I realized that all my 12v power socket has no power supply. I suspect some problem with the fuse. Also, can I check how do you connect your android phone to the infotainment unit? Thank you very much to all.
  6. That's right! We're back again for another video review, and this time we have gathered a local favorite, the Subaru Forester, except that, this one is now a mild-hybrid! But first... it looks like we have some confusion about the camera equipment. Jon can't seem to find the front of our swanky new 360 degree camera, and why does this shot remind me of the woman yelling at cat meme lol. Watch the video to see what all the fuss is about! The Forester e-BOXER has a flat loading boot that James finds a real treat to use, but is there space enough to pass the trolley test? Jon then gets in the front and gives the new infotainment system a whirl... And then follows with a good lecture about the benefits and disadvantages about the new hybrid setup! What do they make of this new Forester? Does Jon's little ramble put James to sleep? Will they miss the lost power of the regular Forester? Watch the full video review here to find out!
  7. I am starting this new thread/topic on Subaru EyeSight as there have been many discussions among the Impreza, XV and Forester forums, and many Owners are cautious about having solar film fitted to the front windscreen. I collected my SK Forester last week and has been exploring the EyeSight system since then. Let's start with MI disclaimer whereby buyer has to put his/her signature on the declaration form. In my opinion, the disclaimer is very relevant. Why is this so? The EyeSight system allows the driver to drive with it OR to manually switch-off either lane-departure detection or pre-collision braking or both features altogether. The 2 switches are located on the cabin roof, above the rear view mirror. In other words, Subaru (or anybody else) will not know whether the EyeSight was in operation should a front collision occurs. Also, EyeSight will not work above 60 km/h (+ / - ). What will happen if a crazy driver drives at high speed and crash his Subie and then seek legal compensation from Subaru for the "defective" EyeSight system. I am sure all other car manufacturers that offer driver assist crash avoidance system will insist buyers to sign the Disclaimer form. At the end of the day, the driver is still fully responsible for the vehicle safety, not technology. To be continued ...
  8. Subaru will be showing off its Forester STI concept at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2019. Painted in an exclusive Fighter Gray colour, the car will be unveiled on the 11th of January. Equipped with new 19-inch wheels, we can also see from the photos that car will be given a set of high performance brake system that includes six-piston calipers up front. Other notable change include a set of more aggressive body kit and a new grill with the STI badge. The standard Forester in Japan uses a e-boxer powertrain that consists of a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine and an electric motor that produces 12bhp and 65Nm of torque, bringing the total output to 143bhp and 188Nm of torque. It is believed that this variant will benefit from a higher power figures.
  9. Hi all, New here. Would like some feedback on the suzuki vitara compared to the subaru forester and mitsubishi eclipse cross. Appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance! Regards astc
  10. Hi bros, Owns a forester fxt but believe it is appropriate to start new thread on new 2019 forester under their global platform after already available ones for XV, Impreza etc. Cheers. Richard https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/16/2019-subaru-forester-price-25270/ Interesting options available for USA forester buyers which may tickles to Singapore buyers since understand all still built in Japan and only limited info from recent launch in Taiwan by MI, including pending availability of 2.5l version
  11. The next generation of the Subaru Forester has leaked online ahead of its New York Auto Show debut. From the images, the design of the car looks evolutionary. Taken from a Japanese magazine, the Styling changes are minor but the Forester recieves a new front grill with a larger grille with new headlights and bumper. Behind, new taillight design and a prominent horizontal chrome strip let's you know that you are behind the new Forester. Rumored to be riding on the new Subaru Global Platform that is being used by the current Impreza and XV, the new platform will set to increase safety, improve driving dynamics and reduce noise, vibration and harshness levels.
  12. Have short-listed these 2 and would like some comments on both models. Forester for good handling with better safety rating Tucson for better interior space & updated looks/design
  13. Hi guys I'm doing a little research for my next ride. Thinking of changing the rims and keeping the tires to maintain the comfort and cost down. The dimensions (gathered from internet) for the Forester FNA rims and tires are as follows: Tire 225/60R 17 Rim 7J x 17 ET48 PCD 5 x100 Center Bore 56.1mm Any recommendations or advice on the rims and shops? And what's the average cost per rim? Thanks a lot!
  14. Greeting, After 3 mth of car searching, below is the pro and con of the 3 cars I have shortlisted which all can get at ~$114k same price range. Handling comparison for these 3 car is not part of my consideration among them as all are in acceptable level to me. fyi, I only need to drive ~ 1k km/month. My criteria are based on total cost to maintain, look, spacious, equipment level and performance. 1.2L Qashqai (OMV 19k): -Cheapest to maintain (lowest Road tax & insurance), good FC -Pwr & torque - Weakest among the 3 cars -Up to date equipment level -Has numerous power lost complaint concerns -Bonus as this is the only car that has my preferred colour (best exterior look) Remark: The only wow factor if I get this car is because of my dream colour 2L Forester (OMV 14k): -highest insurance and worst FC -Best performance among the 3 cars but not very far apart unless is XT -Dated equipment but can still live with it -Spacious Remark: The only wow factor if I get this car is if I upgrade to XT with additional ~$10k Like the spacious but dislike the cost to maintain 1.6L C4 Picasso (OMV 22k) -Highest road tax but best FC -Futuristic and best in equipment (best interior look) -Most spacious and with rear aircon vent -Worst reliability Remark: This car will be my 1st choice if minus away the reliability (which is one of my most important criteria) concerns. The worst reliability might resultant to highest maintain cost than the Forester May I have your advise which car should I choose and why? Thanks
  15. With the current Subaru Forester (launched in Q1 2013), 2 years old and the most popular Subaru car in 2014, I'm surprised that I can't even find a thread on it, so I'm starting one here. Are there any recent buyers who would like to share their views or recent purchasing experiences? http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=12527 Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the region, announced that Subaru vehicle sales in Singapore grew by 210 percent in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014), jumping from 201 units in 2013, to 623 units in 2014. The award-winning Subaru Forester, which was launched in the first quarter of 2013, is the highest-selling Subaru vehicle in Singapore. Growth was also experienced across various markets with Taiwan and Malaysia experiencing a 44 percent and 24 percent increase in sales in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014) respectively. At the same time, Consumer Reports, an independent organisation that publishes reviews and comparisons of consumer products, announced that Subaru won the Consumer Reports Top Picks of 2015 in three categories. In addition, Subaru was ranked 5th overall in the automotive brand ranking. The Subaru vehicles that won the Top Picks of 2015 are as follows: Compact car: Subaru Impreza Mid-sized sedan: Subaru Legacy Small SUV: Subaru Forester
  16. Fans of the previous Subaru Forester STi must be rejoicing now because Subaru will be launching a new STi version of the current fourth generation soon. Unveiled in 2004, the last Forester STi was probably one of the sportiest SUVs out there. Unfortunately it was only meant for sale in Japan. Teased ahead of its official world debut on November 25th, we expect the car to come with the 2.5-litre turbocharged boxer engine from the WRX STi which means it will have 296bhp and 407Nm of torque. Or it could use the Japan-only 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that is found in their variant of the WRX STi which outputs 304bhp and 422Nm of torque. Yup, the Japanese keep all the good stuff to themselves. As seen from the photos, owners will be getting a car that comes with a bolder bodykit, new rims and bigger brakes. Let's hope the car will make it to our shores!

  20. Hi guys, I just got a 2008 Forester 2.5XT. Main dislike I have in priority is that : - gap between tyres & wheels look too wide (current on stock 17" rims & tyres) - cabin is too noisy, mainly road noise & wind - too much body roll Any recommendations on not too expensive ways to resolve the above?
  21. The third generation Subaru Forester has been around for several years now and it is time for a new model. That model received numerous changes especially in terms of size. It is bigger in terms of dimensions and it looks more bulky compared to its predecessor. The new Forester now sits on a longer wheelbase and it is slightly longer, wider and taller. Although it may be bigger in dimensions but the new model still retains the overall look of the third generation model. Subaru has finally unveiled the fourth generation Forester, ahead of its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The new model will be available with two types of engine options. Firstly, the naturally aspirated model (second image from top) comes with a 2.5-litre four cylinder Boxer engine. This engine makes around 170bhp and 235Nm of torque. The turbocharged variant (top most image) comes fitted with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder Boxer engine which churns out around 250bhp and 350Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated model is fitted with either a six speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic CVT. The turbocharged model comes with a high-torque CVT gearbox with 6-speed and 8-speed manual modes and Hill Descent Control. Subaru
  22. I wonder if any MCFers driving the current generation Forester can tell me what their FC in real-world driving conditions is like. Is it significantly worse than a 2WD SUV such as a Kia Sportage? Thanks.
  23. I notice that there is 2 models of Forester in sgcarmart for sale. 2.0XT, 2.5T & 2.5XT. Between these 3 models, what are the main difference. 2.0XT last models in 2005 2.5T as early as 2005~2007 2.5XT 2008 onwards. Is the 2.5T as good as 2.5XT?
  24. [extract] Subaru has finally brought out a STI (Subaru Tecnica International) tuned Forester for its Japan Domestic Market (JDM) with the Forester tS. This is the second tS model after the Legacy tS which Subaru debuted last June. The tS moniker basically stands for Tuned By STi and is basically a Subaru with some STi performance bits, unlike the full monty Impreza STi which is basically designed from the outset by Subaru
