  1. Bro Mustank, specially for you. Since it is from MB, sure got Diesel option. Daimler's Mercedes-Benz arm continues the development work of their first mid-sized pickup truck and our spies were there to catch them in the act. Just like the Renault Alaskan, Mercedes’ new pickup truck is based on the underpinnings of Nissan’s NP300 Navara and will reportedly enter the market under the GLT moniker, starting from 2017. The car you see in the photos is a test mule still carrying a lot of the Nissan’s body panels but we can clearly notice the wider front and rear wheel arches. Unlike other re-badged examples we’ve seen, the GLT is being developed and designed solely from Daimler to meet the specific needs of its customer base in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America. The company gave us a good idea of how the final car will look like by releasing a teaser sketch image last year, along with the promise of high levels of utility combined with “the comfort, safety, and design of a Mercedes-Benz passenger car”. Mercedes still considers offering their new pickup in the US and if they do, the GLT will probably be made at Nissan’s factory in Mexico to avoid tarrifs. The company is also going to build it in Renault’s Argentinian facilities and at the Nissan plant in Spain for the regional markets respectively. Expect a range of four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with entry-level models getting a six-speed manual and the rest a seven-speed automatic gearbox, with power sent to all four wheels permanently.
  2. Hello, good day to you. I would like to have some advice on the gearbox jerking issue of Mercedes-Benz, A class model. Is there any discussion on this topic? Hope you can direct me to that link, thank you.
  3. Lorry Driver Who Lied About Having Class 3 Licence Pleads Guilty For Causing Fatal Yio Chu Kang Accident source: https://mustsharenews.com/yio-chu-kang-accident/ The driver crashed into a father-daughter pair and their family friend. Lorry Driver In Fatal Yio Chu Kang Accident Guilty Of Driving Without A Valid Licence On 23 April 2018, 27-year-old Xu Kai Xiang was driving a lorry along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into three pedestrians. All three died instantly at the scene. Xu, who was driving his father’s company lorry, admitted today (14 Oct) to driving without a valid licence, according to a report by The Straits Times. Lied to father about licence validity The report also stated that Xu had been ferrying the company’s workers daily since 8 April, just over 2 weeks prior. His father had entrusted him with the lorry as he believed that his son possessed a Class 3 licence. Unbeknownst to the elder Xu, his son who had applied and obtained a Class 3 Provisional Driving Licence, only took his practical driving test in automatic transmission vehicles. One would need a Class 3 licence, which allows a person to drive a car with manual transmission and a clutch pedal, to drive large vehicles like lorries. Charge for causing deaths still pending Xu initially faced a fine of $1,400 and a year-long driving ban for driving the lorry without a valid licence and insurance. A third charge for causing the deaths of the pedestrians is under review, pending the result of a coroner’s inquiry. If the evidence proves to be against Xu, the court can prosecute him for the offence later. Be a responsible driver It’s essential to adhere to the limitations of the type of licence that you have and not be complacent with your driving skills. A careless mistake can sometimes lead to a tragedy. Remember to abide by the traffic laws as well when you’re on the roads.

  5. With the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz's A-Class Saloon here in Singapore, fans of the classic sedan bodyshape now have one more option to consider when buying into the premium segment. With selling mass market front-wheel drive cars looking more like an attractive business case for the German manufacturers in these astute times, we were naturally curious to see if the new Baby Mercedes still possessed that polish associated with its badge, and so eagerly took one out for a review! If you are a fan of connected technology, there is much here that will impress. The cabin of the saloon is comfortable, premium and high-tech. You get the new generation infotainment system, complete with the twin 10.25-inch displays and the MBUX voice assistant. There's 64-colour ambient lighting, built-in navigation and smartphone integration as well, so all your day-to-day needs will be covered. While on the road, the car is comfortable and light on its feet. we did find however, that while power comes easily from the 1.4-litre engine, the drivetrain still lacks refinement and makes a fairly unsavoury sound when worked hard. Should that one flaw deter you from making a purchase? We don't think so. With the saloon priced just $2,000 more than the equivalent A-Class Hatchback, there's no denying that the car sports an increased practical appeal. Plus, its a saloon, which is classy, and fitting for a Mercedes. Share with us what you think in the comments below, or read our full review here! The A-Class Saloon also packs a 420-litre boot, 50 litres more than the hatchback. As usual, here are some photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz. Your actual specifications may vary.
  6. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé is not only the most emotional vehicle in its class, it is also highly intelligent: From MBUX Interior Assist, which recognises operational demands from gestures and equips the interior with intelligence, through augmented reality for navigation and understanding indirect voice commands to the ENERGIZING COACH that provides individual fitness recommendations, the new CLA offers an array of clever solutions. There are also ingenious details when it comes to the aerodynamics and new functions for the Intelligent Drive driving assistance package. The design underlines the coupé character with its stretched form and design elements such as the bonnet with powerdomes or the rear licence plate which has been moved down. As such it does justice to its predecessor’s status as a design icon. With MBUX, Mercedes-Benz has been revolutionising how to operate a car and communicate with it since the launch of the A-Class. “Now we go to the next level with an intelligent interior assistance system for the compact class. By recognising gestures it facilitates natural operation,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development. “This is not the only new feature by which the CLA offers a great deal of automotive intelligence.” “With the first CLA we celebrated a huge success by selling some 750,000 vehicles and created a totally new segment with a four-door coupé,” adds Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. “The new edition of the CLA has been developed further in an intelligent way and is even more emotional and sportier than its predecessor. Coupled with new operating systems, it sets new benchmarks for the entire class.” The new generation of compacts has made a key contribution to the rejuvenation and image change of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The CLA is important for winning and retaining new customers in particular. The CLA Coupé was launched in the USA in 2013, making it the first compact MercedesBenz on the American market. At peak times, more than two thirds of CLA buyers in the USA came from competitors. On average, CLA customers in the USA are around ten years younger than the typical MercedesBenz customer. In Europe, too, CLA customers are among the youngest in the Mercedes portfolio. In 2017, one in two customers in Europe previously drove a competitor's vehicle. Over 75 percent of European customers who previously drove a CLA as a coupé or Shooting Brake chose a MercedesBenz again for their next vehicle. In total, some 750,000 units of the first-generation CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake contributed considerably to the compact car's success. In its first year, the new CLA will also be available as an Edition 1. In terms of both the exterior and the interior, this limited edition special model has numerous visual accents which underline its exclusivity. The new CLA will be manufactured at the Kecskemét plant (Hungary) and comes onto the market in May 2019. “As a four-door coupé, the new CLA intrigues with its puristic, seductive design and sets new standards in the design DNA of ‘sensual purity’. It impresses with its perfect proportions reflecting the first design sketch: a long, stretched bonnet, a compact greenhouse, a wide track with exposed wheel arches and our typical GT rear end with a strong distinctive ‘Coke-bottle shoulder’,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG. “In short - the CLA Coupé has the potential to become a modern design icon.” The combination of the long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless doors give the CLA Coupé its unmistakeable sporty and elegant character. Forming the front end is the striking front section which is raked forwards like a shark nose with a long, stretched bonnet featuring powerdomes. Original article at http://9tro.com/media/news/the-new-mercedes-benz-cla-coupe The 2nd Generation CLA will be officially unveiled at the CES 2019 event at 3am 9th Jan (SG time). 7. New model out: https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/918852/Mercedes-Benz-2018-C-Class-new-car https://www.motor1.com/news/232656/mercedes-benz-c-class-refresh/ My rep says it will be in SG in the third quarter.. Maybe they will have some sale of the current model...
  8. Mercedes-Benz has announced that its newest, smallest car, the 2019 A-class sedan, we can expect the OMV to be somewhere around S$35k when it goes on sale likely later this year. That makes it one of the least expensive car that Mercedes sells, undercutting the current CLA. The low cost of entry should help bring even more new customers to the brand; the company says more than 50 percent of CLA buyers were new to the Mercedes-Benz brand. Despite the price, the A-class sedan has a long list of standard equipment. A panoramic sunroof, LED head- and taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, automated emergency braking, dual 7.0-inch screens (one in place of the gauge cluster and one for the infotainment), and more are all standard. Adding 4Matic all-wheel drive costs US$2000, and the options and features are the same across the board for the all-wheel-drive model. As with all other Benzes, it is very easy to tack on thousands of dollars to the A-class' base price with myriad options. The AMG Line package, for instance, adds different exterior styling, interior trim pieces, larger wheels, and re-tuned suspension for US$2600—or US$2900, if you want all the trim to be gloss black. Leather is available for $1450, and for $1030 the front seats can be made heated and ventilated. A US$1550 Premium package upgrades the two screens to 10.3-inch units and brings some extra convenience features, while the US$1150 Multimedia package includes augmented-reality navigation. The US$2250 Driver Assistance package adds all manner of active- and passive-safety features like advanced adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-change assist. We're still unsure which variants and packages will be available in Singapore, but rest assure it will be on sgCarMart.com as soon as there is sufficient info. Standalone options include a US$250 heated steering wheel, US$850 for adaptive dampers, a $990 head-up display, an upgraded Burmester sound system for US$850, and 64-color ambient interior lighting for US$310. The A-class sedan comes in nine colors, some of which cost US$720 extra, and there are six wheel choices, eight interior upholstery options, and four available interior trims, two of which are real wood.
  9. With a a drag coefficient of 0.29 and a frontal area of only 2.13 square metres, the new Opel Corsa is the most aerodynamic car in its segment. In its sixth-generation, the supermini has a frontal area that is significantly smaller than its predecessor’s, allowing the new car to improve its fuel consumption and emissions to new levels. Things that helped achieve the those impressive drag coefficient numbers include the use of an flat underbody panel that covers the engine compartment to the rear axle and a roof spoiler which improves airflow and reduces drag-inducing turbulence. The aforementioned spoiler has also been worked on to cut aerodynamic lift on the rear axle, thereby improving high speed stability on the Autobahn. Last but not least, the Corsa has also been equipped with an active grille shutter that is usually seen on more expensive cars from higher segments. When the engine is cooled sufficiently enough, the front grill closes which in turn redirects airflow around the front of the vehicle and down the sides, rather than through the engine compartment. The decision to open or close the shutter is made automatically, depending on engine coolant temperature and speed.
  10. Koenigsegg's head has voiced out his interest in the new hypercar class that will replace LMP1 in the World Endurance Championship. In an article published by Carscoops, Christian von Koenigsegg said that his company would love to race in that class after its CCGT failed to qualify in 2007 as FIA banned carbon fiber monocoques and raised the minimum production run of entries from 20 to 350 per year. Back then, the CCGT was built with the intention of racing it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT1 class. Based on the CCR, it weighed less than 1,000kg. “This is great. We’re so excited by it. What I’ve understood is the final regulations are not finished yet, but we’re looking at them very closely. We would love to go and race there. Finally, there is a chance," said von Koenigsegg. “To bog an Agera down to the GT3 category would be stupid and with the Balance of Performance, you’d get beaten by a 911. But this new class is fantastic. If it really comes to fruition in a good way, it will be amazing.” That said, the company isn't sure which of its cars would it enter for the class as the regulations might require the use of a hybrid system. Other brands that are interested in the hypercar class include Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford, McLaren and Toyota.
  11. 50,000 units in 8 months [*]More than 50,000 new S-Class sedans delivered to customers worldwide since market launch in September 2005 [*]US and Germany top performing sales markets for the luxury sedan [*]S-Class is also the world market leader among diesel-powered luxury sedans Only eight months after the European premiere of the new S-Class, sales of the sedan have topped 50,000 units.
  12. The saloon will be initially available with two engines, one diesel and one petrol, in either Sport or AMG Line trims. Order books are open in some countries, with deliveries set to start early 2019. A petrol A 200 and diesel A 180 d are available from launch. The A 200 is powered by a 1.3 litre turbo petrol that makes 161bhp, 250Nm of torque, and is claimed to manage 51.4mpg. The diesel unit has been co developed with Renault, and is claimed to achieve 68.9mpg while producing 114bhp and 260Nm. Both engines come with a seven-speed, twin clutch automatic gearbox, with no manual option as yet. From the outside, the saloon looks nearly identical to the A-class hatchback, right up until the C Pillar. From there, the roof drops away slightly more sharply to accommodate the new boot section. The rear end treatment is the same as the Chinese L Sedan, featuring bold light clusters with a Y shaped LED signature, above a bumper flanked by a pair of vertical air vents. The saloon shares its 2,729mm wheelbase with the hatchback, while the overall length has stretched 130mm beyond the standard five-door variant. At 420 litres, the boot is 50 litres larger than in the hatch, though its opening is inevitably smaller. The new shape makes the saloon even more aerodynamic than the already slippery A Class hatch. At 0.22 cd, Mercedes claims that it boasts the greatest aero efficiency of any current production car, which should bring with it both low levels of wind noise and strong fuel efficiency. The segment the A Class Saloon will compete in when it makes its Spring 2019 debut is fairly small, the Audi A3 Saloon will be its closest competitor, but Mercedes says that it’ll boast class leading rear headroom. The rest of the A Class cabin is the same as the regular hatchback; in other words, it’s furnished with a well-built, contemporary dash which, with a few select options ticked, gets one of the very best infotainment systems available at any price.
  13. The first few interior spy shots of Mercedes-Benz's all new S-Class has been realised online and we are taken back by how large its center console touchscreen is. Is this going to be largest touchscreen to feature in a car? We have no idea but with more and more having touchscreens that are replacing buttons on the center console, there seem to be a 'race' on which manufacturer has the largest screen in their cars. Seen on Carscoops, there are no details on how big the S-Class's screen is nor do we know what the huge screen will allow the occupants to control. You might notice that the center console is not totally button free as there are some physical buttons at the bottom of the screen. It is hard to judge from the photos alone but it does look like buttons for the hazard lights and drive mods. As for the rest of the car, it is still heavily camouflaged at this point so we have no idea how it will look. The article did say that the car is expected to be available with a Level 3 semi-autonomous driving technology and will all have some form of hybridisation. The PHEV versions are expected to offer all-electric driving ranges of up to 100km.
  14. Anyone knows where is this nice location? Very impressive housing estate. Must cost a lot...only can dream. http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/gallery.php?AID=991&CUR=1&TYPE=reviews#photo
  15. Hi all, Tried searching but can't get a comprehensive ans on this. Only managed to get bits and pieces of info here and there. I'm looking at getting a new E Class, not sure E200 or E250. Definitely PI as i find the sales service at CnC not that great and it's too overpriced compared to buying from PI. I have bought from PI before but only jap cars, never continental. I understand the general feedback from most people is that conti cars run on more electronics so there's a higher tendency for conti cars to have abit of electronic issues/replacements that need to be done from time to time even though Merc is supposed to be the best in terms of reliability for conti cars. So i have a few questions as follows: 1. Which workshop has one of the best equipment, experience in servicing Merc cars? Can they handle it if there are real serious issues or under what situations can i only turn to CnC for their help? (i hear names like MBM, Auto Spritz, Star Black etc) 2. If i turn to CnC, is the admin fee still $500 or has this changed? What other docs would i need? 3. Is the warranty and the workshop basically the same? Which warranty coverage is generally the most reasonable? 4. I'm not looking to pay the cheapest but just want to pay reasonable pricing to service the Merc. Which workshop would be best? Lastly, is the E250 worth getting over the E200? Seems like from Merc SG website, the specs look rather similar. Thx all
  16. With a Cd value of 0.22 and a drag of less than 0.49 square metres, the Mercedes A-Class Sedan drag coefficient is the lowest for any production car. Once the car goes for sale at the end of 2018, the new A-Class Sedan takes over the record from the outgoing CLA. By using both computer-aided engineering and measurements in the wind tunnel, Mercedes was able to improve on the old record. Areas that helped achieve the record include an almost complete panelling of the underbody. A reduction of the frontal area was also achieved despite the car growing larger.
  17. I was reading this article which is quite interesting. In a post on his Facebook profile, he said the appointment takes effect from Jan 1, 2012, and that he will be based in both Hong Kong and Singapore. The Kerry group - primarily a property firm - also owns a controlling stake of the South China Morning Post, the most successful English-language newspaper in China and Hong Kong. 19. Can find any thread related to the new A class (W176). Any bro or sis can share your review?
  20. Don't you think it's quite chio... Although is a bit bland, but I think it's classy. The interior is just super nice and techie. I'm quite excited for the A class Saloon.
  21. Nissan has yet to decide what is it using to power its new GT-R. But it aims to be the fastest in its class. In an Autocar interview with Nissan's design head, Alfonso Albaisa, the publication was told that the next GT-R will not take styling cues from the GTR-50. In fact, Albaisa said that the car has yet to even have any 'serious work done on its design'. This is because decisions about the powertrain and new platform have yet to be finalised. "The challenge is on the engineer, to be honest," he said. "We will do our jobs when the time comes to make the car something really special. But we’re not even close to that yet." However, he did give some clues on what the next GT-R would be like. Albaisa believes that electrification for the next GT-R is likely, but not confirmed at this point. "Whether we go to a lot of electrification or none at all, we can achieve a lot power wise," he said. “But we are definitely making a new ‘platform’ and our goal is clear: GT-R has to be the quickest car of its kind. It has to 'own'; the track. And it has to play the advanced technology game; but that doesn’t mean it has to be electric." "It doesn't care what every other supercar in the world is doing; it simply says, 'I'm a GT-R, I'm a brick, catch me.' It's the world’s fastest brick, really. And when I review sketches for the new car, I say that a lot, "Less wing, more brick.'"
  22. Camouflage-free photos of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class have surfaced online. Unsurprisingly, it looks similar to the current generation. Scooped by AutoWeek.nl, the new SUV's biggest visual difference is probably its headlights and bumpers. It also looks like the new Mercedes-Benz logo will house radar sensors necessary for the semi-autonomous functions the new G-Class is expected to gain. Underneath, it also gets a new independent front suspension that is likely to allow the G-Class to offer better on-road manners while keeping its off-road prowess intact. Also helping in maintaining its excellent off-road capabilities is its new nine-speed automatic transmission. It is paired with low-range, three lockable differentials and an all-new off road-oriented G-mode. Inside, the the interior has been overhauled, allowing the SUV to feel as modern as any other members in the family with the optional twin digital displays. It is set to be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in mid-January.
  23. Automotive News has reported the Tesla Model S has outsold traditional luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW in their home turf last year. This is the first time in Europe and for some years now, the Model S has been outselling Mercedes-Benz's S-Class and BMW's 7-Series in America. With 30 percent more sales in Europe this year, 16,132 Model Ss were put on the road in 2017. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz sold 13,359 S-Classes for the same year, an increase of 3 percent. BMW sold 11,735 7-Series models, a 13 percent decrease as compared to 2016. In the States, Tesla sold 28,800 units of the Model S while Mercedes-Benz only sold 15,888 units of its S-Class last year.
