  1. 22 Indian crews. All of them are safe. Regardless of nationality is an accident (mechanical?)no one wanted it. Quoted from BBC. The cargo vessel, called the Dali, was built in 2015 and sails under the flag of Singapore. It can carry 10,000 shipping containers (standard 20 foot units). It was carrying 4,679 units. The ship - which was destined for Sri Lanka - is owned by Grace Ocean Investment and operated by Synergy Group. The vessel, which was carrying Maersk cargo containers, had two pilots on board at the time of the crash, according to Grace Ocean. One of the pilots was reportedly an apprentice. There were also 22 crew members on the ship, the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore said in a statement. Synergy Marine said the 22-person crew are from India and there are no reports of injuries. The Indian Embassy in Washington DC has set up a hotline for any citizens involved, which has been shared on social media here.
  2. Ship tracking data from LSEG shows a Singapore-flagged container ship, the Dali, at the location along the Key Bridge where the accident occurred. The registered owner of the ship is Grace Ocean Pte Ltd and the manager is Synergy Marine Group, LSEG data show. Synergy Marine Corp said that the Dali collided with one of the pillars of the bridge and that all its crew members, including the two pilots, had been accounted for and there were no reports of any injuries. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/16-mile-bridge-baltimore-collapses-after-ship-collision-fox-baltimore-reports-2024-03-26/

  4. Environment Building evacuated due to ‘security situation’; no threat items found so far: Grace Fu SINGAPORE - The Environment Building on 40 Scotts Road, which houses the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE), PUB and the National Environment Agency, is under lockdown on Wednesday due to a “security situation”. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said: “While attending Asean meetings in Vientiane, Laos, I received news from back home that a security situation is ongoing at the Environment Building. “Police had worked with security officers on premises for preliminary checks and no threat items were found. I’m monitoring the developments closely from here and am in constant contact with my colleagues. A video on the Hardwarezone forum showed groups of people leaving the building, with at least two police vehicles seen at the driveway. When The Straits Times arrived at the scene just before 1pm, the ground floor of the building was mostly deserted, save for a handful of people milling around the information counter. A sign placed at the turnstiles leading into the lift lobby read: “We have an emergency situation. The building is under lockdown.” ST understands that employees were told to evacuate the building at about 9.30am, and those who were not in the building were not allowed to enter. ST has contacted the police, Singapore Civil Defence Force and MSE for more information. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/environment-building-on-scotts-road-evacuated-and-under-lockdown-due-to-emergency-situation somebody sent Grace something ?

  7. I usually hold my horn long long. My resting HR keep dropping while i hold on to the horn. Unlikely escalate into road rage unless the driver beh song and cut in front of you. If that's the case, lock all 4 doors and call mata. If ppl are uncivilised, it is pointless to give grace.
  8. Saving grace..... He was nabbed moments after finishing the act, according to UDN. at least he did not have any unfinished business...😂
  9. Like@Theoldjaffa said, its a no win situation. Someone will find fault with whatever you do. I am ok with providers like SP imposing idle fee with 30min grace period. My car fast charge in 45min, plus 30min grace period = 1hr 15min, more than enough time to do what I am doing. Maybe that idle fees will end the complaints but somehow I doubt so, people always find new things to complain about. Maybe providers should remove the slow chargers completely from malls (plenty of slow chargers in HDB) or set the same price for slow and fast charging. If you make slow charging cheaper, why shouldn't users use the cheaper option if they have a choice?

  11. I was in KL last week and the Grab that came is this new WRV. The variant that came had fabric seats and it already looked worn out for such a new car. There are certainly durability concerns. Plastics and fittings also felt cheap. The saving grace is the engine which sounds slightly sporty. Build quality cant match a Mazda. Being an (ex) Honda fan, its quite sad to see how a car brand has been going downhill like this. Generic and or ugly designs, sterile engines, lack lustre interior has plaqued the brand. This one is another one of them.
  12. Parking PSA: 1️⃣ From 1 Sep 2022, we will adjust the grace period for short-term parking in all car parks with the Electronic Parking System to 15 minutes, to give motorists time for pick-ups and drop-offs. 2️⃣ From 19 Sep 2022, we will discontinue the sale of parking coupons at all HDB branches, as 9 in 10 motorists now use the Parking.sg app at most coupon-based car parks to take advantage of per-minute charging. Motorists who prefer to use coupons can still purchase them at authorised agents, such as petrol stations and convenience stores.
  13. Just make all new PHV cars no longer transferable to private car ownership, and once covert from Private car to PHV, cannot swap back after that. Grace period of 6 months for all existing PHV cars to convert to private use. Simpur rule. Lai.
  14. wah liao! announced on 1 Dec and started on 1 Dec, after few days said grace period till 7 Dec, now said delay implementation to 1 Jan and with a list of exemptions. As I said before, it will be a miracle if their officers aren't blur like sotong with these changes. OK, what's next? akan datang ........

Is the battery truly the culprit? Before diving into jumpstarting when your car won’t start, ensure the battery is the issue. If you hear the engine cranking when you turn the key, a dead battery isn't the problem. But if your car remains silent, it's time to explore jumpstarting as your road to revival. How to Jump Starting Your Car with Jump Starter? Jump-starting your vehicle's battery is a simple yet essential skill every driver should have in their toolkit. Whether you're dealing with a dead battery in your driveway or helping out a stranded fellow driver, a portable jump starter, also known as a jump box or car battery jump starter, can be your saving grace. In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through the step-by-step process of using a portable car jump starter, exploring the best portable jump starters, and understanding the must-have features of a reliable portable battery charger for cars. Prepare the Jump Starter: Before diving into the jump-starting process, ensure your portable jump starter is charged and in optimal condition. Check the LED indicators to confirm the battery level, ensuring it's ready for action when needed. Position the Vehicles: Park the operational vehicle close to the one with the dead battery, ensuring a safe distance between them. They should not be touching, but proximity is crucial for the jumper cables to reach both batteries effectively. Identify the Battery Terminals: Familiarize yourself with the battery terminals on both vehicles. The positive terminal is typically marked in red, while the negative terminal is black. Understanding these terminals is vital for a safe and effective jump-start. Attach the Jumper Cables: Connect the red clamp of the jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery. Next, attach the other red clamp to the positive terminal of the fully operational battery. Connect the Black Clamp: Take the black clamp of the jumper cable and attach it to the negative terminal of the fully operational battery. However, instead of connecting the other black clamp directly to the negative terminal of the dead battery, find an unpainted metal surface in its engine bay. This step prevents sparks near the potentially hydrogen-emitting battery. Activate the Jump Starter: Switch on the jump starter and allow a few moments for the transfer of power to take place. The portable jump starter acts as a bridge, supplying the necessary power to kick-start the dead battery. Start the Vehicle: Attempt to start the vehicle with the dead battery. If successful, let it run for a few minutes to allow the alternator to recharge the battery. Disconnect the Jumper Cables: Carefully remove the jumper cables in reverse order to the way they were connected: black from the previously dead vehicle, black from the functioning vehicle, red from the functioning vehicle, and finally, red from the previously dead vehicle. Remember, it's crucial to consult your vehicle's manual for specific instructions and safety precautions. If the jump-starting process fails, there may be underlying issues with the battery or electrical system, and seeking professional assistance becomes imperative. Portable jumper cables and a reliable portable car battery charger nearby can be invaluable tools, especially in emergency situations. Ensure your portable jump starter is always charged, and consider having a jump starter near me for peace of mind on the road.
