  1. TL;DR - Singapore Traffic Police crack down on Lalamove’s dangerous driving and wreaking havoc on the streets Toyota Hiace driver's reckless drive land him in a joyous ride to the police station Watch this 2 minute video of the driver getting nabbed (and his partner just randomly laying on the ground). What happened? A Toyota Hiace driver was recently arrested by the Traffic Police after crashing into a walkway along Jalan Sultan *school zone*. The incident caused damage to both the vehicle and the surrounding area. The driver was allegedly speeding when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the walkway. The impact was so severe that it caused the steel railing to fall off onto the ground. The Singapore Traffic Police were alerted to the incident and arrived on the scene shortly after. The driver was immediately arrested with handcuffs. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of accidents caused by reckless driving, particularly among younger drivers. The authorities have responded by stepping up enforcement efforts and implementing tougher penalties for offenders. The consequences of reckless driving can be severe, both for the driver and for innocent bystanders. Not only can it result in injury or death, but it can also lead to legal and financial repercussions, such as fines, demerit points, and even imprisonment. Online Chat If I may ask, what is the guy lying down on the ground for...? Do you think the driver was under the influence of drugs/alcohol or do you think he was just simply a reckless driver, driving without due care? Comment down below! Takeaway The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of obeying traffic laws. Singapore has some of the strictest traffic regulations in the world, and the authorities are very, very quick to take action against anyone who flouts the rules. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. TL;DR - Shame shame as this cheapo Toyota Hiace evades parking fee by tailgating after alighting passengers at Parklane. To be specific, a couple of well-endowed chio-bus’. This Hiace driver in the video seems like a pretty experienced tailgater. Watch this 84-second video clip to see what i mean. What happened? The incident took place at Parklane shopping mall’s car park where the Hiace tried to follow closely (and succeeded) to tailgate the car in front of him, just to avoid paying for parking. The video footag shows that the driver had just dropped a group of skimpily dressed ‘chio-bus’ (not that we can tell from the footage but I’d think so) off, where netizens are assuming they are working at one of the bars/KTV there. Online Chatter Undoubtedly, there has been an increased occurrence of payment evasion offences, with most being committed by tailgating. Is it worth committing an offence just to save a few bucks? Hmm. Cautionary Reminder A motorist who fails to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and as a result is involved in an accident, may be charged with the offence of Driving Without Due Care or Reasonable Consideration. The first offence carries a fine not exceeding $1,500, an imprisonment term not exceeding six months, or both. Subsequent offences carry higher penalties. 3. TL;DR - A Toyota Hiace with illegal modifications refused to stop and even sped off from the Traffic Police. [UPDATE 15/02/23, Wednesday] - Mission to escape the traffic police failed as the Toyota Hiace was found abandoned in one of the multi-storey car parks in Yishun. MIA driver though. Watch these two videos fresh out the oven of the great escapade by the van driver. Part 2 Part 3 After beating the red light, speeding against the traffic and fleeing from the police, the van was finally found stranded in a MSCP. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In the movies, high-speed police chases are often thrilling and sometimes explosive, but on the streets of Singapore it is a different story. Want to be fast and furious, at least not with a van lah… Watch this 36-second video to see just how fast this van accelerated to evade the traffic police. What happened? A Toyota Hiace was caught zooming across the not-so-empty road in Yishun, with a traffic police chasing closely from behind. Rumors have it that the van was carrying drugs, which caused his fight-or-flight response to bolt off. Surely something’s sus about the van driver, be it the illegal modifications of his van, carrying drugs or whatnot. No matter what, he is definitely getting charged for traffic violations - it is against the law to elude any authorized (police) officer. Online Chatter Even a Ferrari cannot outdrive Singapore’s traffic police, did this van driver really think he had a chance? Bo beh zao man... Takeaway Never think you can outwin the SPF. Be a safe driver, do the right things and you won’t fear seeing the law enforcers. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. The first thing I would do when I spot a hazardous driver is to get FAR AWAY from them. My reasons for doing so are: (1) I am a defensive driver (2) I love my car However, for this Toyota Noah driver, he does the exact opposite of what I would do: What Happened? An elderly Toyota Hiace driver woke up on a fine morning and decided to be a d!ck on the road by cutting off a Toyota Noah at a junction upon the traffic light turning green. (1 count of near collision) In response, the Noah driver tapped on his brakes repeatedly and even jam-braked at one point to avoid a collision with the van. At this point, the Noah driver was probably seeing red as he began driving aggressively, including overtaking the Hiace using a right-turn-only lane. Further down the road, both vehicles drove side by side (probably exchanging hand gestures and vulgarities) when the elderly Hiace driver decided to pull his stunt AGAIN - by cutting in front of the Noah driver once again. (2 counts of near collision) The obviously furious Toyota Noah driver retaliated by overtaking the Hiace from the left and cutting in front of it. (3 Counts of near collision) ANDDDDD....the Hiace performed exactly what the Noah driver did to him - by overtaking from the left and cutting in front of the Noah driver. (4 Counts of near collision) At last, both drivers' shenanigans ended when they stopped at a red light. However, the Toyota Noah driver alighted from his vehicle, walked brazenly towards the driver's side window of the Hiace, and gave it one good smack, jolting the elderly driver. The Noah driver made a rude hand gesture towards the elderly driver before returning to his MPV. Too old to drive? Or is he simply an elderly d-bag? Whatever it is, this elderly driver should have his driver's license revoked for two simple reasons: (1) Assuming his actions were unintentional...it suggests that he is unfit to drive due to his age (Eg. Poor eyesight, hand-eye coordination, or a lapse in judgement). (2) Assuming his actions were intentional...nuff said. Netizens' Comments The comment we needed👆 This is what happens when you are old, but stubborn af and insist on driving. IMO, he's lucky to walk away with only a smack on his window and a rude hand gesture. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. No one likes to pay for Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges, and sometimes it's funny to see how a simple system that helps regulate traffic flow has the potential to cause so much frustration for people like this Hiace driver. Watch the video here: This incident occurred at ERP 42 on the slip road from the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) to the Central Expressway (CTE). What happened? As the cam car approaches the slip road towards an ERP gantry, a Toyota Hiace can be seen hitting his brakes abruptly before coming to a halt just before the gantry. This dangerous action from the Hiace driver caused the cam car to react with an emergency brake as well. Shortly after, the Hiace driver turns on his hazard light. The cam car proceeds to overtake the Hiace and carry on with his journey, only for the Hiace driver to drive off. Possibilities At first glance, it seems as though the Hiace driver was attempting to avoid ERP payment by waiting for the ERP timer to end. However, a closer look at the ERP timing disregards the initial intent of the Hiace driver's action. Instead, it is highly likely that the Hiace driver either forgot to insert his stored-value card, or he was swapping an insufficient stored-value card with one that has sufficient value into his IU. Nevertheless, actions like this should not be condoned. Just pay the $10 fine or "administrative fee" and take it as a lesson learnt. Netizens' comments Modern problems require modern solutions 😎 Do or die, Hiace driver gonna get slapped with a fine. Hold up...This man has got a valid point right here. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 6. Not all heroes wear capes; some of them drive a Toyota Hiace. In this video, a cam car and a silver Hiace were waiting to turn right at a junction. As the green signal came on, both vehicles started to make their turns. A silver Prius suddenly charges straight through the junction out of the blue, clearly ignoring the red light signal on the road. The front of the van almost swipes the side of the car as it rushes past both vehicles. Unimpressed, the cam car follows the silver vehicle and forms right behind it in the next junction. However, the van driver was not going down without a fight. As he reaches the same junction, he sticks to the left lane. He then proceeds to charge towards the Prius, only to abruptly stop in front of it, narrowly missing it by an inch. According to the cam car driver, the van driver confronted the other driver as he slowly straightened out his vehicle. That ought to teach the Prius driver a lesson for beating the red light! Netizens' reactions He most definitely was not! With the way this Prius drives, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more clowns like this on the streets of Singapore. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow transfer for every submission we publish on Facebook! 7. A van driver was caught with his mind in the clouds and ends up rear-ending a poor cyclist on the road. Did the driver fall asleep at the wheel or something? The video starts with the Toyota Hiace maintaining a good speed at the first lane of the road as the camcar drives past it. However, the vehicle suddenly starts to veer towards the kerb. . . . . . and charges ahead at full-speed, hitting a cyclist who was cycling on the left of the first lane. The video ends with the van coming to a complete stop after hit, with the accident warranting a few concerned looks from motorists passing by. Who is at fault? Although there is an unspoken rivalry between cyclists and drivers, it is important to note that in most accidents, it is not always the cyclist's fault. While there are some cyclists that clearly break the rules while on the road, in this case, the driver was at fault for not noticing the cyclist earlier. Here are some rules and guidelines from LTA for cycling on the road: Netizens' reactions Most netizens sent their well wishes to the cyclist, while some questioned the driver's intent and actions in the video. It was speculated that the driver could have been distracted by his mobile phone, or that he could have been daydreaming and did not notice the cyclist at all. Nevertheless, it is important for drivers on the road to be alert at all times and to always leave a space of at least 1.5m while overtaking cyclists on the road. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 8. Today, we have a Toyota Hiace driver that might have allowed water to seep inside his brain while driving in the rain. He drives against traffic flow along Changi Road towards the city and cuts across three lanes to turn into Siglap Ave. The best part is, he's driving calmly as if he's doing nothing wrong when in actual fact, he's scaring everybody As a driver myself, Singapore roads are extremely easy to navigate. I admit that I've driven against traffic before albeit in a carpark but never on a main road. Anyways, I digress. Here's the video. Where is this place? Gungho right? This is where the incident happend, courtesy of Google Maps. Maybe he made a wrong turn after pumping petrol at ESSO? For the folks here, when driving, please watch out for "unusual vehicle" and don't assume that everyone follows road regulations. Do not hesitate to alert them of their wrongdoings to prevent somebody from getting hurt.
  9. An Isuzu cement truck beats the red light signal while turning and hits an SBS bus along Aljunied Road on Thursday (June 4). The force of the collision threw the bus driver out of his seat and caused the vehicle to mount the road divider, resulting in a second crash with a stationary Toyota Hiace van. Based on the video, the bus ended up crashing through a fence of a nearby construction site while the cement truck appeared to be damaged from the collision as well. According to this Mothership post, the bus driver and two other passengers have been sent to Raffles Hospital on the same day. The driver has since been discharged and is on hospitalisation leave. Netizens' reactions With an increasing number of heavy vehicle accidents in recent years, it is wiser for drivers to slow down and take more caution while manoeuvring these bulky vehicles.
  10. Hi. Need advice from bros here. Intending to get a hiace for my work. However as need to fetch children, so I am thinking of getting a PC plate hiace, than maybe remove 2 or 3 rows of seat behind so than I can use the back to carry goods. 12. this van has been tailgating the Forte on my right for quite a distance. suddenly he just cut into my lane to filter left to Hougang Ave 2. due to the wide angle of the lens it may not seem close, but in fact its damn close. have emailed his reckless driving act to the TP.
  13. Is there anyway to adjust the mirrors so that you can see bikes in your blindspot?
  14. I gotta relate an incident which happened today to me on the TPE all the way to the CTE. Quite funny in certain ways, quite naughty of me in others .... but I found it amusing nonetheless. I was at a T-Junction in Tampines heading home for a nap at 2:00 pm. Just secured a contract from a school in Tampines so here I was heading into the TPE. Waiting to turn right on the road heading towards the entrance of the TPE when I saw this TOYOTA HIACE van come up behind me .... did I care , of course not. Right turn light came on and I went off at my normal speed. This Hiace van was revving behind me like SIAO .... tailgated me for about 100m before overtaking on the right and cut back in front of me .... yes I was on the left lane of a 2 lane road. I was going HUH ?? TRD Toyota HIACE van siah !! This must be a scene from 2FAST 2FURIOUS (PART 3 HIACE VAN) So, it was gonna be a long way back to AMK , and the CD music was LOVELY - BRING ME TO LIFE (EVANESCENCE). Certainly pumped me up .... so I decided to be naughty and just play with this 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS Hiace Van. On the entry of TPE , I just stayed behind him (punkass Malay driver) ... before anyone goes crying RACIAL PREJUDICE ... I am MALAY too lah. Once the highway opened up, I went down to 3rd and ZOOM ZOOM .... overtook him and cut back in front of him. He was in Lane 2. Now I never had anything bad intentions ... just trying to fill some boring drive back with someone who is game enough in a TRD-decorated Toyota HIACE. Wah !! He not happy .... he revved up and got to my backside (speed on my speedo 95 km/h) .... just what I was waiting for. As soon as he was close .... I revved up and sped away. As soon as I was about 150 meters away, I SLOWED down and waited for him. Traffic was quite bare. I could see him speeding up, his eyes intent on my TarzanBoy's backside. And again as soon as he got close , I sped off .... 150 meters (approx. I SLOWED again and waited for him. All this while, I was smiling and laughing to myself. This bugger must be driving his company van ... does he not know what he is up against ?? Did her ever think that he could outpace my TarzanBoy 323 ?? Again and again I played him over .... as soon as he got close .... I would just pull away. The look on his face via my rearview - . Just to add insult (naughty me) .... I wound down my windows as soon as we cleared some construction work nearing Punggol. And when he pulled close, I pulled away ... I stuck my hand out and gestured "FASTER FASTER FASTER". I know I sound like a BULLY but somebody gotta teach this kid a lesson .... his van aint no match for any car, so drive sensibly like you ARE indeed driving a VAN. No point trying to play with TARZANBOY lah or I will whip your punkass TRD-stickered VAN !! Wah he lagi bweh song .... as I see a middle finger come up from him from my rearview. I was laughing my balls off .... again I gestured FASTER FASTER !! All this was happening at 95 - 105 kph ONLY. Then I decided to be naughtier .... I saw a Mitsubishi Grandis hogging the right hand lane. I slowed down to 80 (hey I am in the middle lane u know) and the VAN came charging up. He then sverved to the right and tried a Montoya-style demon overtaking on LANE 1. A Toyota Hiace Van on LANE 1 .... can you imagine that . I looked inside , was given a middle finger ... I SMILED back and .... revved up and snugly held my speed beside the Grandis. Now he was stuck .... he had a Grandis in front of him and me beside him .... STUCK in Lane 1. I held my speed beside the Grandis letting the Grandis be at least half a body in front of me .... at 95 kph. He was totally stuck with much faster cars coming up behind and honking him Then I looked at him and gestured -> "YOUR VAN NOT FAST ENOUGH" all in hand language. "NOW LOOK AT MY CAR" - gave a cheeky laugh and then I just sped off into the distance. Was it over ... no I waited for him .. as I slowed down in the left lane behind a lorry. As he came up to the middle lane (took him ages) and overtook me , I looked in .... and he didnt even want to look at me ..... I let him pass , came up behind him , overtook on the right and cut back to the middle lane in front of him, waved him GOODBYE as I exited the TPE into the CTE. He didnt even want to look at me .... Boy that was fun ..... certainly filled up the long boring drive back. I know you may say I am a bully .... maybe I am just 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS .... only with a TRD HIACE Van of course. Sorry to other HIACE owners who may feel insulted by my comments. My apologies
