The Civic Type R will go down in history as the last bastion of gas-only Hondas on the Old Continent, according to a new report from Autocar. Despite rumors suggesting the next hot hatch would go hybrid with all-wheel drive and around 400 horsepower, the British magazine claims Honda will stick to the tried-and-tested formula. It’ll allegedly retain the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine, but with a minor bump in horsepower over the current 316 hp. Autocar claims the Civic Type R is unlikely to get a major boost considering its front-wheel-drive nature. The report goes on to specify torque delivery could see an improvement as a result of improving turbocharger response. Hi Mods, Hope you guys can assist to display this in the In Car Accessories Forum for ideas/ assist from gurus here. Previously owned a Toyota Wish and recently traded in for a 2008 Honda Odyssey. Notice the Dash does not come with a Media Player to play DVDs/Reverse Cam like my wish had. The 2008 Odyssey does not have the current radio player strategically placed thus wouldnt be fit to install on the current position. Anyone have had any idea/ experience of the conversion to fit a media player on the dash? Pictures attached to show how its like previously and how i would like the media player installed. Hi all, i am looking for your opinion. In recent regular maintenance, my engineer suggested me to change the front absorber and engine mounting which cost about 1.5K inlcuding labor. I can feel the problem while driving and it is getting a little worse in the past 6 months. It's Monday! And nothing says Mondays like a huge traffic jam on the way to work to brighten up everyone's mood, am I right? Well, if you were to see this scene this morning on the SLE just before 9am, I don't think you would want to be caught in it either. If they could, I'm willing to bet most people in that traffic jam would've love to just turn around and head right back home to bed. I think this GIF below puts most people's mood into perspective. I mean, 2 out of 3 lanes closed due to an accident on a Monday morning during the peak hour rush? That is sure to put anyone in a good mood for the start of the working week. Although I can't imagine it was any better for the owner of the Vezel, to have his week start out like this. Regardless, with the Honda Vezel being a relatively common car on local roads, you might think that most people would be familiar with them by now, in one sense or another. My family's car is also a Vezel, and I'll say one thing about it, it's not meant to be driven too aggressively, because the car just isn't built to handle aggressive driving. Now, I'm sure that there will be some of you out there who will vehemently disagree with me, but I'm not going to argue about it because I value my life. Let me explain. The Vezel is a CUV, or a crossover. Basically a downsized SUV. What do a CUV and a SUV have in common? A higher than normal centre of gravity. So what happens to objects with a higher centre of gravity when pushed too far? They topple over. Much easier too, since more of the object's weight is higher off the ground, causing more imbalance. It is for this main reason why we see high performance vehicles being low to ground, because it helps to lower their centre of gravity. The lower your centre of gravity, the more stable you are, and the less likely the chances of you tipping over. Call me chicken, call me a coward, but I am really not interested in paying for higher insurance premiums if I get involved in an accident. Not to mention the possible accompanying mental trauma that may result as of the accident. If you still don't get it, perhaps having your car flipped over on its back like a turtle and being pulled upright would make you feel a whole lot better. If this analogy floats your boat, then.... Good on your. Like this Vezel. It's driver's door wasn't closed while it was turned turtle, presumably because the driver had to crawl out of the vehicle, but hey, at least the actions of the tow truck helped to close his door. Here's hoping that whoever was in that Vezel managed to get out of the vehicle with minor or no injuries. Not the best way to start a new week and a new month, but I guess sometimes you have to take the bitter with the better. Please drive safe, people. Don't be another addition to the traffic accident statistics that the Traffic Police puts out annually.

Hi there, I bought a Honda Vezel couple of months ago and I am very happy with the car. I'm pretty comfortable with driving but my wife is still getting used to it. We find the parking spot in our building a bit tight and the rear parking camera only helps to a certain extent. Parallel parking especially during rush hour can be quite cumbersome so we thought a front camera would be helpful. For experienced drivers, this might not make sense, but for newer drivers it can add a ton of peace of mind (I think). My accessories dealer suggested a 360-degree surround camera to install in the car. I couldn't find any reputed brands online but wondering if any of you have experience with these? Do they actually work effectively? I've seen ATOTO, FSK, Weivision and CarThree but they seem to have mixed reviews. I know that the camera won't be as nice as a Honda factory installed one, but I am keen to explore. Saw this shocking footage on ROADS.sg Facebook page, the first thought that came across my mind was, woah, the rider was literally centimetres away from death! Really, the spot his helmet contacted the ground was in the direct path of the Honda Vezel's front left tyre! Unsurprisingly the comment section was filled with praises for the driver of the Honda Vezel. Indeed, it was the driver's attentive driving and lightning-quick reflexes that saved the rider's life. In fact, it looks like he had damaged his car in the process of dodging the fallen biker - a truly selfless move! As for what caused the rider to fell over, there were some speculations: Seems like it could've been due to exhaustion or issues with the bike. At the end of the day, we need to remember that, as drivers, we should always be attentive, and aware of the surroundings - put down that phone! Be it a driver or a biker, we should always aim to get on the road only after getting sufficient rest, and also to keep our vehicles in tip-top condition. That way, we can all stay safe on the roads. When if comes to overtaking, we bet this Honda Civic driver is one of the most skilled drivers on our road if not the most skilled. This happened on Christmas eve at around 11:45pm along Bartley East Rd in the area of Kaki Bukit towards the CTE and we must say we are impressed with the precision of the overtake. As you can see from the clip, the matt-greenish Civic Turbo came out of nowhere and moved across from one lane to the other with not much room to spare, before proceeding to accelerate away briskly. This time around, Honda is positioning the Insight as an upscale, five-passenger sedan instead of a hatch. Honda has released images of the Insight Prototype ahead of its official debut at the Detroit auto show in January. The prototype takes plenty of design cues from the Civic, including its long hood and curvaceous body lines. The 2019 Honda Insight will adopt a two-motor hybrid system. The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid uses this type of setup, pairing two electric motors with a 2.0-liter DOHC Atkinson cycle engine. Exact powertrain details for the Insight are unknown, but it’s already sounding better than the pesky Integrated Motor Assist setup on the old Insight. We never liked the system, which is comprised of a 1.3-liter I-4 with an electric motor producing a combined total of 98 hp. The powertrain would switch on and off too abruptly at stoplights, as we noted in a 2009 review. Introduced in 1999, the first-generation Insight was a two-door vehicle and the first hybrid to launch in the U.S. Honda didn’t debut a second generation until 2009, when the model adopted a more practical five-door design. Still, we weren’t all that impressed with the Insight’s interior space, not to mention its ride quality. Transforming the Insight from an egg-shaped hatch to a sedan should help broaden its appeal. And it’ll erase any comparisons that may have been made in the past with the king of all hybrids, the Toyota Prius. Expect a much more premium feel and a more spacious interior for the new Insight. It’ll slot above the Civic in Honda’s lineup and will offer fuel economy that is competitive with other compact hybrids, the automaker says. Honda is also claiming the model will have “best-in-class performance.” “You won’t have to be an electrification advocate to appreciate the new Insight—it’s a great car in its own right, independent of what’s happening under the hood,” Henio Arcangeli Jr., senior vice president of Automobile Sales and general manager of the Honda Division at American Honda Motor Co., said in a statement. The Honda HR-V Sport Is Almost Like A Reincarnated EP3 (No, Really) source: https://www.carthrottle.com/post/the-honda-hr-v-sport-is-almost-like-a-reincarnated-ep3-no-really/ It makes a great noise, it has well-judged damping and the gearchange is wicked. But we're not sure who the HR-V is actually for... “The closest thing we make to an EP3 Type R” - that’s how someone in Honda’s UK press fleet garage refers to the Honda HR-V Sport. Now, before you demand his contact details so you can send him a bag of excrement in the post, I should say that I’m inclined to agree… You see, the modern Type R is a turbocharged sledgehammer of a car. It has a brutally effective and boosty 2.0-litre inline-four kicking out 50 per cent more power and double the torque. It’s stiff, extremely capable, and visually, quite happy to shout about all that performance. The old EP3 is rather different. Drive an EP3 next to an FK8, and it’ll feel slower and softer. Rather like the HR-V Sport. But that isn’t where the allusions end - the warmed-up crossover does genuinely invoke the feeling of fast Hondas of old. It may not have a naturally-aspirated engine, but its 1.5-litre inline-four turbo unit is an eager little thing, and it even belts out a muscular, VTEC-engine-like growl as you rev it out. With 180bhp on tap, it makes the HR-V brisk rather than fast, making 0-62mph possible in 7.8 seconds. Peak power comes in at a fairly low point - 5500rpm - but once it’s time to change gear, you’re in for a treat. The shift is just as good as it is on a lot of ‘proper’ performance Hondas, with a short, precise and mechanically satisfying throw. And if you swap the cog a little too late, you hit a hard limiter - a rarity even on performance cars these days. The pedals are ideally spaced for a little heel-and-toe action, and even the retuned steering is pretty sweet, being nicely weighted and perfectly predictable. The more economy-minded Michelin Primacy 3s do reach the end of their tether fairly early, but swapping for something like Pilot Sport 4s seems like overkill for a car like this. In any case, once the HR-V is pushed to the edge, it shows its fun, slightly ragged side. You’ll even get a hint of lift-off oversteer if you back off the throttle at the right moment. It’s just a shame the traction control is too eager to kill the fun, even with it turned ‘off’. Unlike the Civic Sport Line we tried recently, the dampers here are passive. They’re different relative to the rest of the HR-V range, though, aimed at reducing roll without completely wrecking the ride. The shocks are very well judged; the HR-V Sport is indeed still comfortable, and while there is some lean when you press on, it’s more than flat enough considering the target market. The target market being… I’m not sure, actually. The sort of person who’d appreciate all the EP3-like stuff such as the gear shift, the burly engine note and the hard limiter will unlikely want to go for something like an HR-V. It’s getting on a bit, which shows in the dated cabin with its naff infotainment system, and the car as a whole doesn’t exactly have the sportiest of images. In fact, I’ve had a hard time working out who or what this car is aimed at out of any other vehicle I’ve driven lately. It’s not like it’s vying for buyers of much faster premium sporty crossovers - at £28,090 it’s considerably cheaper, while still being fairly pricey compared to more direct rivals. We can’t help but think anyone who actually cares about dynamics would be better off with the lighter, lower Civic Sport (which oddly, doesn’t sound as nice as this HR-V), or even making the jump to the FK8 Type R. But perhaps this doesn’t matter - Honda is using a Mazda-like approach here, making sure that even the stuff lower down the pecking order feels great to drive. People who’ve no interest in performance can appreciate a nicely sorted car, even if they won’t be able to explain what’s good about it. The Sport isn’t ever going to make up a big percentage of HR-V sales (although with a 16 per cent share in the UK it does better than you might expect), but what it does is arguably more important than flogging cars. It shows what kind of company Honda is - one that gives a damn about driving.

Now this is a good one for debating. Do you think the lady in the Honda Shuttle is wrong, or its just the taxi driver being difficult? As shown on SG Road Vigilante's page, a clip shot by a Premier taxi driver, shows a lady in her Honda Shuttle blocking the drop off/pickup point of Katong Shopping Center on 7th of Aug 2020. The reason she is blocking everyone is that she wanted to reverse into the parallel lot beside the taxi but in order for her to do so, all the cars, including the taxi behind, her has to reverse. Now that can be quite a hassle to everyone... So without seeing the first part of this incident, could it be that the taxi driver was being difficult from the start and could have just reversed for her to go into the lot? Or do you guys reckoned that the Honda driver was just a little bit too self-entitled?

Mugen offers several exterior body pieces that enhance the hatchback’s look. At the front, the company offers a front under spoiler, carbon grille garnish, and a carbon fibre hood. At the back, available parts include a tailgate spoiler, a new wing, and a (very) busy rear diffuser. Other exterior upgrades include revised side skirts and carbon side-mirror covers. Mugen packages the front under spoiler, side skirts, and rear diffuser in a Styling Set while the Aero & Wheel Set is the Styling set paired with Mugen’s 20-inch wheels. Inside, customers can change their steering wheel while adding Mugen-branded inner door protectors. The company also offers a racing seat from Recaro with the Mugen logo embroidered in the headrest. This accident happened at Changi Village hawker centre carpark. You can watch the full video of the accident below courtesy of Roads.sg (if you haven't already seen it) What’s happening Honda Stream exits the carpark and attempts to make a right turn on a two-way road. The driver seems oblivious to the fact that there's a stop sign and inches the car onto the main road. The Honda Steam driver then jams the brakes and in less than a second, what looks like a BMW 6 Series crashes into it. Hard. Different points of view If you replay the video, you'll notice that even after the crash, there were no cars that went past on the other side of the road. Meaning, the Honda Stream had more than enough time and space to avoid the accident. Jam break for what? The driver also ignored the stop sign and failed to do proper checks before moving off. On the other hand, based on the sheer force of impact, the BMW was going pretty fast too. What the people say This sounds legit. I think it's the Honda Stream driver's fault. The BMW driver sway balls. Also, there's a lesson here people - Stay the #$%& at home.

Hi, Just got my Jade in August. Having some problem with the doors. Advice appreciated. Problem 1. Car locked. Remote in pocket. Not able to unlock the door on the passenger side. Have to unlock the door from driver side. Once unlock from driver side, then only can be lock and unlock from passenger side. Once car locked, and walked away from car for 10 to 15 mins, cannot unlock from passenger side again (no response when holding on to the handle). Have to first unlock from driver side before the passenger side door work normally again. Problem 2. Boot door. Almost the same as above but with additional problem. Cannot lock with the button under the handle. When I pressed the lock button, no sound, no light, no function. When I pressed the unlock button, got sound, got light but cannot open the boot. All doors able to lock and unlock using the remote control Any bros with similar experience or can recommended workshop that can resolve the above issues.
