  1. Skoda is not bringing in karoq anymore? Not sure if I got the name right karoq is the 5 seater SUV right? Don't see it in the showroom. I only saw the 7 seater one.
  2. @tjyand I think they brought in the 1L model to differentiate from their VW models and ensure that it doesn’t cannibalize their sales. It’s the reason I was told why the karoq was taken out as VW have the Tiguan.
  3. The Skoda Karoq will launch this May with an all-new exterior design, advanced driver assistance technology and four new turbocharged engines. Ditching the unique exterior shape of its predecessor, the Yeti, for a more conventional SUV body, the Karoq shares many features with the larger Kodiaq, which it sits below in Skoda’s line-up. The Karoq has space for five passengers and has a boot capacity of 521 litres or 1630 litres with the back seats folded down. This comfortably beats the car’s main rival, the Nissan Qashqai, which offers 430 and 1585 litres respectively. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, shared with models such as the Audi Q2 and Seat Ateca, the Karoq comes with a choice of five turbocharged engines, four of which are new to Skoda. The new petrol engines are an entry-level 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder with 113bhp and 129lb ft and a 1.5-litre TSI with 148bhp and 184lb ft, with the latter enabling an 8.4sec 0-62mph time and featuring active cylinder technology. There’s a new diesel 1.6-litre TDI that produces 113bhp and 184lb ft while emitting just 118g/km of CO2, and a new 2.0-litre TDI that outputs 187bhp and 295lb ft, enabling a 7.8sec 0-62mph time – the quickest available. These new Skoda units are joined by a 2.0-litre TDI that’s familiar to the brand, which produces 148bhp and is the most fuel-efficient engine, offering 64.2mpg combined and outputting 115g/km CO2. The Karoq comes in two and four-wheel drive guises and with a choice of a six-speed manual of seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. In higher-spec it comes with Skoda’s Drive Mode Select system, which enables the car’s drivetrain to be switched through Normal, Sport, Eco, Individual and Snow. Driver assist systems include a radar-based adaptive cruise control, blind spot detect and front assist, which includes automatic city braking with a pedestrian braking system. There’s also hill hold control to prevent roll back and emergency assistance, which can intervene if the driver becomes incapable of driving and adaptive cruise control and lane assist are on. In-car, technology includes gesture control for certain functions, wireless phone charging, as well as a mobile online connection that works with the infotainment. In top spec, the infotainment has a screen of up to 9.2in and three other displays, including a new digital instrument cluster that makes its debut in a Skoda. Skoda is yet to confirm pricing, but the Karoq’s expected to follow the brand’s aggressive pricing strategy and undercut the Nissan Qashqai, and therefore stick closely to the current model's £17,770 starting price. The Kodiaq, which starts at £21,565, is around £1300 cheaper than its main rival, the Nissan X-Trail.
  4. My Karoq is 4yrs old and still within the 5-year warranty. Am having problem just today with aircon, suddenly lost the coldness and caused so much fog inside as it was raining very hard. Does anyone know if aircon service (like simple freon recharge) is covered by the warranty? I will call Skoda Services tomorrow, but perhaps someone here has previous similar experience. Thank you in advance.
  5. should be the end..... hatchback... Singaporeans not so keen.. only Octavia, Kodiaq doing well.... even Karoq... I see lesser already.. seems people have traded in for something else... Singaporeans all within 4 years change one...
  6. Hi all A newbie here..looking to get a Karoq but really worried about the Skoda brand and the resale value etc...the new RAV4 is also a great bet and pretty much similarly priced...I have decided that the CX5 wouldn't be worth it due to smaller boot space and other items...3 year warranty only etc.. Any thoughts? Can some Karoq owner PM me or assist. Also what do you think how long will the karoq take to deliver...and the best price u have received for Style version. TIA!
  7. Lol this discussion going down into conti vs jap. Ultimately comes down to your budget la. Don't even know what u can get with 200k nowadays. A Q3/X1/GLB/GLA should be sufficient for your needs. This kinda Coe does it make sense to buy a brand new vw tiguan/Skoda? The karoq is still rocking a non independent rear suspension? (not even listed in sgcm new car section). Based on sgcm. A peugot 3008 seems to be quite ok price. Forester also seems to have some more acceptable pricing.
  8. This is not another normal SUV / MPV... You are looking at the first large size EV from Skoda, with RWD setup! Skoda hasn’t built a rear-wheel-drive vehicle since the early 1990s when the 105/120/125 series of rear-engined RWD cars was discontinued to make way for the Favorit with the engine in the front driving the front wheels. The Mladá Boleslav marque is returning to its roots, but with an electric twist as the Enyaq iV will eschew the combustion engine for an electric motor. Riding on the same MEB platform as the forthcoming VW ID.4, the Enyaq will be a follow-up to the appealing Vision iV concept introduced about a year ago at the Geneva Motor Show. While it won’t look as exciting as the showcar before it, the electric vehicle should have some extra pizzazz compared to the firm’s conventionally powered SUVs, such as the Karoq or Kodiaq. One thing I’d like to add is that while the concept had some coupe influences, the production car will be more in the spirit of a tall wagon.
  9. Ateca Ex vs Karoq Style: Essentially they are more or less the same cars on the same platform built by different companies. Ateca has Adaptive cruise control, while Karoq is only the old normal dumb CC Ateca has rear cross traffic alert, karoq dont have Ateca has auto boot + virtual pedal, Karoq only got auto boot Ateca has wireless charger, karoq dont have Karoq has leather seats vs Ateca Alcantara Karoq infotainment is 9" vs Ateca 8" Karoq has virtual cockpit vs Ateca old style dials Karoq AD is Volkswagen vs Ateca AD is dunno who. see what you want man..
  10. For those driving how the FC for this suv? Thinking of switch to 20' wheels, anyone can share before and after when u change ya rims?
  11. 2022 Skoda Karoq Facelift heading for Europe end of the month. Singapore? At least one more year as usual... Ahead of November 30 when the C-segment crossover will receive the typical mid-cycle facelift, the Mladá Boleslav brand has released a couple of teaser images. Despite the missing badge on the front fender and judging by the two-tone alloy wheel design, we could be looking at a Sportline trim level based on the fake exhaust tips finished in chrome. That said, let's start with the front fascia where the Karoq has reshaped headlights. Taking a page out of the latest Audi A6's book, the 2022 Skoda Karoq has a slightly slimmer lower section of the headlight as it approaches the mildly updated grille. The LED daytime running lights appear to have a split design, reminding us of the previous-generation Octavia with its separated headlights available on the facelifted model. The lower lights are now angled towards the side of the car rather than pointing at the grille as it's the case with the current Karoq. The cluster seems a tad bigger than before, housed in a bumper with a wide air intake likely reserved to the Sportline model and flanked by new trim finished in dark chrome to match the grille's contour. Skoda has also tweaked the taillights since they extend further on the tailgate and have a significantly different shape on the left side to mirror the headlight design with a narrower lower section. The big "SKODA" lettering on the tailgate where it replaces the company's logo isn't new since it was originally introduced for the 2020 model year. Following its official debut at the end of the month, sales in Europe could start in the first quarter of 2022, provided Skoda has enough microchips what with the semiconductor crisis wreaking havoc in the automotive industry.
  12. @Fitmugen Kodiaq ambition only $130k in 2019 when I bought my Karoq. Haiz, regret why nvr chiong a bit and get Kodiaq.
  13. The first ever sgCarMart E-MarkDown with Skoda saw over 500 viewers introduced to the best deals online through an engaging Facebook live session. Nothing can stop sgCarMart and Skoda from getting the best deals for its members and followers. That is why, in post-pandemic 2020, the first-ever sgCarMart E-MarkDown event was kicked off with a Facebook livestream at the familiar Skoda showroom at 26 Leng Kee Road, hosted by the entertaining duo, Julian and Idris, from sgCarMart's Editorial Team. If you are familiar with the past sgCarMart and MyCarForum MarkDown events, you will know that it is the one to attend if you are seeking the best deals on any car purchased. The E-MarkDown event does the same, allowing you to enjoy the same great deals and attractive prizes from the comfort and safety of your home, on a virtual livestream. Without "wasting any youth" (as Julian often quotes), the Octavia's enormous boot was put in the spotlight. With 590 litres of boot space, it offers more stowage capacity than larger cars such as the Toyota Camry! Viewers were invited to like, share and comment 'Skoda Smart' on the livestream to stand a chance to win grocery vouchers worth up to $100! The dynamic duo moved on to introduce the abundant features in the Skoda Octavia, including 7 airbags which ensure the safety of driver and passengers. With lucky winners of the Octavia quiz selected, the special, special price of the Octavia Ambition and Ambition Plus were revealed - starting from just $99,900! The first 20 viewers who commented "Octavia Now" will also be getting an Apple iPad Pro worth $1,500 with their purchase of an Octavia! The next ride of the day was the mighty Skoda Karoq, the perfect SUV for the modern family. The Karoq Ambition was also up for grabs at a special price of $116,900, the first 20 viewers who commented "Karoq Now" will also be getting an Apple iPad Pro worth $1,500 with their purchase of athe Karoq! Talk about a great deal! It even comes with a seatbelt for man's best friend, Doggo! The VarioFlex seats in the Karoq also ensures maximum versatility with independently adjustable and removable seats at the rear. The evening ended with three extremely lucky winners who stayed with our lovable hosts till the end and walked away with $100 grocery vouchers each! Hoping it was you who walked away with a big prize? Be sure to join us at the next sgCarMart E-MarkDown stream! Missed the livestream yesterday? Fret not, you can enjoy all of Julian and Idris' banters and informative explanations here! Be sure to drop a message at Skoda Singapore's Facebook page if you are interested in either the Octavia or Karoq!
  14. The Karoq makes a return with a 1.5TSI engine. It is marketed as the "New" Karoq but discerning consumers will know that this is not the upcoming facelift model. Anyway, it is back to VES Band B again (hurray!). Website did not say whether it features ACT technology, so not sure if the unit is identical to the one in the Scala. https://www.skoda.com.sg/karoq
  15. welcome! but am a little confused - you mentioned that you joined the family but then mentioned that you didn't book the Karoq. Which model did you go for in the end? the 1.5l engine on the Karoq is quite interesting cos its newer than the EA211 1.4l TSI that has been around for sometime. always found it interesting that the karoq has a 1.5l engine compared to the 1.4l TSI on the Kodiaq model (even though the Kodiaq is higher end than the Karoq). Is there a new version of the Karoq? looks like Skoda is rolling out more new models soon if thats the case, will look forward to seeing the new generation of cars on the road!
  16. Looks like the kamiq and karoq no longer on sale in Singapore ? https://www.skoda.com.sg/offers-and-pricing/vehicle-pricing
  17. https://topelectricsuv.com/news/skoda/2022-skoda-karoq-hybrid/ To quote from the article - "The 2022 Skoda Karoq may borrow the 1.5-liter EVO e-TEC mild-hybrid engine from the 2021 Skoda Octavia. " This may turn the fortune for the Karoq.
  18. Yes, I mean Karoq.. Kamiq uses 7-speed (A) DSG, I m scared it might give me lots of problems after 50k mileage.. While Karoq uses 8-speed (A) transmission, that's why I'm considering it instead of Kamiq. VES surcharge is really a headache.. Pays 15k for nothing.. sigh
  19. Any bros installed aftermarket electric tailgate for skoda karoq or other models before? Original parts was quotes abt $3.6k w/o GST, aftermarket ones were in the range of $800 and above.
  20. The facelift Karoq is using auto transmission and no more DSG. No worry abt DSG. I think CX 5 is a bigger car than Karoq. So compare to see which car suits you better.
  21. Not very big lar. Just slightly bigger than it’s smaller brother Karoq. Big size is like Carnival, Sorento or palisade
  22. My 3 yo Karoq went in for 3rd servicing today and was diagnosed that the thermostat is leaking. It will be replaced under warranty and car can only be collected tomorrow morning. My mileage quite low at 20k only. Is this problem a common issue with Skoda cars?
  23. See the red Kodiaq vrs very nice, but see the Cat B COE now can almost buy my 2019 Karoq makes me step on the brakes.
