  1. Source: https://www.motor1.com/reviews/708133/2024-lexus-tx-350-review/ Remember the Lexus RX L? Not many people do. Lexus tried to shove an extra set of seats in the standard-wheelbase RX, which resulted in a horribly cramped third row and even less usable cargo space than its two-row counterpart. So Lexus ditched the RX L with the latest generation of RX. Ultimately, that was the right move. The new Lexus TX is a proper three-row SUV. It has space for seven normal-sized adults and their luggage, with the premium fit and finish you expect from Lexus. Based on the also-good Toyota Grand Highlander, the Lexus TX has three powertrain options to choose from. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder making 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The next-up, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid, pushes out 273 hp and 339 lb-ft. The range-topping 3.5-liter V6 plug-in-hybrid makes a hearty 404 hp. The base engine is just fine in this TX 350 trim. Power arrives smoothly and there’s just enough of it to move the massive TX out of its own way. Considering it takes 7.8 seconds for this exact TX to reach 60 miles per hour, you won't win any stoplight drag races against other luxury three-rows with torquier engines. And you will have to bury your foot deeply into the accelerator to get this hefty SUV up to speed; the Lexus TX weighs 4,575 pounds in this spec. But as with any Lexus south of an F model, performance isn't the purpose here. The TX is the king of comfort and has a wonderfully isolated ride over most surfaces. On the highway the suspension feels buttery smooth, quickly quashing bumps and undulations, and the cabin is whisper quiet thanks to excellent sound deadening. Lexus makes some of the best chairs in the business and that's mostly true here. The shape is great, the bolstering is excellent, and there's ample butt and back support. But much like the front seats in the Grand Highlander, the bottom of the seat is too short and doesn't come with extended thigh support for lanky lads like myself. The second and third rows, though – relative to the class – are superb. The rearmost bench has enough headroom and legroom to seat two average-sized adults comfortably, or three bigger children. And there's still a healthy 20.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row – 12.8 more than the outgoing RX L. Fold the third row and that storage figure jumps to 54.7 cubic feet, while dropping the second row improves that number to 97.0 cubic feet. I managed to shove a king-size mattress with a few small bags and boxes in the back of the TX with no issue. It's a hauling champ – just be careful not to scuff up the upholstery. Most of the cabin surfaces within reach are soft to the touch, while the faux NuLuxe leather covering the seats and other surfaces looks and feels like the real thing. A sturdy piece of aluminum washes over the dash, accenting the pleather and soft plastic that covers most of the front console. There is a big chunk of piano-black plastic around the shifter and cup holders, which catches fingerprints like a magnet – but it's the only unsavory trim piece in the cabin. Every TX comes standard with Lexus's Safety System+ 3.0 driver-assistance suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist, among others. And outside some of the true hands-free systems, Safety Sense is about as good as it gets. It keeps the SUV centered in the lane, without ping-ponging it from side to side, while delivering smooth throttle and braking inputs that react nicely to the flow of traffic. The base TX 350 with front-wheel drive sips fuel at a rate of 21 miles per gallon city, 27 highway, and 23 combined – better than the most efficient Infiniti QX60 and Acura MDX models by a good margin. But if it's efficiency you're after, the TX plug-in hybrid returns 27 miles per gallon combined and reaches up to 33 miles of electric driving. All that comfort, capability, and efficiency won’t cost you much, believe it or not. The Lexus TX starts at just $55,050 with destination and handling for the 350 model with front-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive version tested here adds an extra $1,600, starting at $56,650. The range-topping plug-in-hybrid model costs $78,050. If you want things like real leather, bigger wheels (up to 22 inches), and more technology – like a head-up display – you’ll have to splurge on the Luxury model. That version starts at $60,950 with front-wheel drive or $62,500 with all-wheel drive. Regardless of trim, Lexus finally figured out how to make a great three-row SUV. It took them long enough. With an excellent selection of powertrains, a supremely comfortable cabin, and tons of cargo, luxury buyers who require loads of space need look no further.

  5. Basically a Toyota Yaris Cross in a tuxedo. Rumors of a fancier Yaris Cross have been swirling around for years and now the Lexus LBX is officially here. Positioned below the UX and serving as the new entry-level model, the tiny crossover is an indirect replacement for the defunct CT hatchback. It rides on the same GA-B platform as its Toyota sibling but with different styling to better fit Lexus' design language both inside and out. The LBX is 4,190 millimeters long, 1,825 mm wide, and 1,545 mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Riding on 18-inch wheels as standard equipment, the petite Lexus is actually slightly bigger than the Yaris Cross and tips the scales at 1,280 kilograms. It will be offered with a choice between front- and all-wheel drive, with all configurations coming exclusively with a continuously variable transmission. At the heart of the LBX is a hybrid powertrain based around a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It produces a combined output of 134 horsepower (100 kilowatts - just nice in cat A) and a maximum torque of 185 Newton-meters. It's enough electrified punch for a 0 to 100 km/h run in 9.2 seconds and a maximum towing capacity of 750 kilograms. All versions of the latest Lexus get a MacPherson strut front suspension while the rear uses a torsion beam for the FWD models and a double wishbone if you opt for AWD. Although the technical specifications for the latter have yet to be disclosed but it will add an electric motor at the rear. Interestingly, the small crossover has an aluminum hood as well as molded resin wheel arches, rockers, and lower door sections to keep weight down. Stepping inside, the LBX boasts a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster with an optional head-up display joined by a 9.8-inch touchscreen. The infotainment supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only the former has wireless connectivity. Lexus has once again teamed up with Mark Levinson, which supplies the 13-speaker sound system that comes along with a subwoofer. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and you get a cargo capacity of 332 liters with the rear seats in place. The AWD-equipped LBX is likely to be less practical due to the extra hardware installed at the back. Lexus mentions it hasn't made any compromises in terms of quality and attention even though this is the new entry-level model. The LBX is the company's first model for which development primarily took place in Europe. It's scheduled to enter production by the end of this year and go on sale in Europe along with additional markets in early 2024.
  6. Those who own Lexus of the following models IS, GS and RC from years 2013-2017 take note of the potential servo motor issue of the Air-Con. Basically, if you adjust the temperature to "HI" and/or turn on the windscreen or window heater and then subsequently turn it down to cooling temperature, there is a potential that the driver's side blower might still be blowing hot air due to the servo motor electrical malfunction. Most of us do not turn the temperature to high, hence, will never encounter this issue till you change coolant, do AC maintenance or accidentally changed the temperature to high, so won't encounter this till years after purchase. However, Lexus is conducting recall and repair for free for U.S and Canada markets at least as they encounter this issue when winter hits. Just U.S alone, they are recalling over 300k vehicles of the various models to repair for free, even beyond the basic warranty period, up to 7 years. So, if your vehicle is under warranty, please check whether you have this issue and get if fixed, or if you are looking to purchase a used Lexus of the various affected models, can also check for the malfunction. Local dealer in SG will not repair for you FOC if warranty has lapsed, and the most they will do is "reset" for you and the problem will eventually recur. I attach the links of the recall announced by U.S. NHTSA. The steps to replicate the issue varies as there are up to 8 servo motors, but mainly, adjust the temperature up to "Hi" and/or turn on the window/windscreen heater for awhile and then bring down to "Lo" or 20 deg or lower and check whether there is uneven AC temperature, especially on driver side. All the info can be found from the pdfs from the links. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10188921-9999.pdf https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10204550-9999.pdf

(Photo by Hirofumi Yamamoto) SAYUMI TAKE, Nikkei staff writerFebruary 13, 2023 20:19 JST TOKYO -- Japanese automaker Toyota plans to develop a "next-generation" all-electric Lexus model by 2026 to meet rising demand for such luxury cars, according to the company's incoming president. "We aim to develop a next-generation battery EV in the Lexus brand in which everything from batteries and platforms to the way the car is built will be optimized for BEVs," said Koji Sato. As current chief of the brand, he oversaw the development of the first electric Lexus, the RZ, which is expected to be launched this year. BEVs refer to all-electric vehicles that are generally called EVs by other automakers, but Toyota uses this name to distinguish them from the hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel-cell vehicles that it also makes. Sato, who will replace Akio Toyoda in April as the new president and CEO of Toyota, made a speech and answered reporters' questions at a news conference on Monday. He named seven others who will form the new management team with him and talked about his plan to transform Toyota from a carmaker to a mobility company. "To deliver appealing BEVs, we need to drastically change the way we do business, from manufacturing to sales and service, with a BEV-first mindset," Sato said. "Lexus will lead this transformation." Koji Sato will take over as president of Toyota in April. (Screenshot from Toyota Motor's YouTube page) He pointed to the EV shift in developed countries, which is the main market for the Lexus brand, and said that Toyota is trying to meet such rising needs. Sato, a veteran Toyota engineer, said that electricity has "a different influence on aerodynamics... We have to sufficiently understand the characteristics of electricity... and take a step further and manufacture [the cars] in the best suited way." Toyota has faced criticism from environmentalists and investors for failing to catch up with its peers in the development of EVs. Sato pointed out that the emphasis on the electrification of Lexus was part of Toyota's goal to provide a range of vehicles that can meet demand from all buyers. "The energy situation is different in each country, and Toyota's unchanging policy is to consider the circumstances of each country," he said. Asked about concerns over Toyota's EV strategy, Sato said he regretted that there were "communication issues" around the matter. Toyota's EV strategy is for the mid to long term and it is currently focused on energy-saving efforts and cutting emissions from its models by using hydrogen fuel-cells and other technologies in addition to batteries, as well as in its day-to-day business operations.
  9. Hello all, I'm considering buying a used car and need your help to decide if it's a good deal or not. The car is a 2018 Lexus RX350 with a 3.5L V6 engine, and it has a salvage title. The price is $10,200. I'm familiar with the brand and model, and I'm aware that the salvage title is an issue. My question is, is the price low enough that it's worth taking a chance on the vehicle? I understand that it may be difficult to get it repaired if something goes wrong and it might be more expensive than normal. I'm also curious to hear any other thoughts or advice about this particular car or about buying a salvage title car in general. What do you think? Should I buy it or not? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  10. https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Automobiles/Toyota-targets-the-rich-with-new-Century-Lexus-models-in-Japan?del_type=4&pub_date=20230204090000&seq_num=3 Toyota targets the rich with new Century, Lexus models in Japan Automaker hopes to take on luxury heavyweights like Rolls-Royce and Bentley An SUV version of Toyota's Century luxury car will go on sale later this year. (Photo courtesy of Toyota) KAZUHIRO NOGUCHI, Nikkei staff writerFebruary 4, 2023 06:01 JST NAGOYA, Japan -- Toyota Motor plans to flesh out its lineup of large ultraluxury vehicles in Japan, in a bid to capture a downturn-resilient market and upgrade its brand image. The company plans to release an SUV version of the Century luxury model focused on the Japanese market, as well as a minivan under the Lexus brand that has sold well in China. Both are likely to be priced in the mid-10 million yen range to over 20 million yen (10 million yen equals $76,300). The Century SUV, which will be positioned above Toyota's current top-of-the-line SUV -- Land Cruiser -- will be launched in August or later. It is expected to be a hybrid vehicle based on the midsized Highlander series sold in North America. Production will be handled at the company's Tahara Plant in Aichi prefecture where Lexus vehicles are manufactured. The Century, launched in 1967, has been popular as a chauffeured car for Japan's imperial family, politicians and business owners. The price of the current Century, which was completely redesigned in 2018, is about 20 million yen. The new Century SUV is expected to be in at least the mid-10 million yen range. Toyota is likely to aim for sales to wealthy people overseas and for use as official vehicles. Lexus' first minivan, dubbed the LM, is likely to go on sale in Japan in the latter half of the fiscal year. The hybrid vehicle has been sold in China since 2020, where it is priced at about 1.16 million yuan to 1.46 million yuan ($171,000 to $215,000). The Lexus LM carries a price tag of over $170,000 in China. (Photo courtesy of Toyota) The LM is so popular in China that has sold for more on the used car market than its base price. Production of the LM will be transferred from subsidiary Toyota Auto Body's Inabe Plant in Mie prefecture to Toyota's Tahara Plant, as the company seems to want to refine product quality by relying on a plant that regularly handles Lexus. Behind Toyota's ultraluxury push is a desire to capture some of the global market dominated by British companies such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley, as well as to boost brand power. In the past, Toyota sold a limited run of the Lexus LFA sports car for 37.5 million yen, but the Century is currently its highest-grade offering among mass-produced cars for the Japanese market. Despite concerns about a global economic slowdown, appetite for luxury brands among the wealthy is strong, as evidenced by the recent earnings of French luxury brand LVMH. Rolls-Royce, which mainly sells cars that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, sold a record 6,021 units in 2022, up 8% from 2021. A Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV is priced at over $300,000. Downturn proof: Rolls-Royce sold a record 6,021 units in 2022. (Photo by Soma Kawakami) Bentley sold 11,000 vehicles in the January-September period. Its operating profit during those nine months was 575 million euros ($621 million at current rates), exceeding in just nine months the record profit of 389 million euros for the full year of 2021. The automaker's operating profit margin was 23%, and sales per unit was about 30 million yen. Operating profit per unit was just under 7 million yen, more than 30 times Toyota's figure of 200,000 yen during the same period. Although Toyota has a full lineup that includes everything from minivehicles to luxury cars, it believes it still has room to expand at the high end. As the cost of raw materials and wages go up, increasing gross profit per unit is likely to be an important strategy.
  11. Yes, ALOT is happening in this video, and the title speaks for itself. NGL, I am actually surprised I managed to summarise the entire video within the title itself. Watch it here: What Happened? After entering the AYE, a Honda HRV driver decided to perform something bizarre - he changed lane into a red Lexus ES not once but TWICE, despite having empty pockets of space to switch lanes into. During the second bump, the Lexus ES was forced into lane 2 of the AYE, causing it to cut off a Shopee Xpress van. As a result, the Shopee Xpress van had to brake hard to avoid rear-ending the Lexus ES. However, a motorcyclist riding behind the van could not react in time and smashed into the van, resulting in the motorcyclist flipping over. Idk about you, but the Honda HRV driver ought to be handed some heavy consequences for his actions. It is as clear as daylight that the Honda HRV driver did not bother checking his blindspot before changing lanes at the very last minute, which caused the accidents. Netizens' Comments Likely, the Honda HRV didn't even know about the presence of the red Lexus because he didn't bother turning his head to check his blindspot. I might be wrong, but it seems like the Honda HRV performed a hit and run after side swiping the red Lexus ES twice.... 13. A pet peeve of mine is when commercial vehicles (Eg. Vans, lorries, tipper trucks) travel on lane 2 of the expressway. And I am certain this is a pet peeve of many drivers in Singapore. Due to the speed limit imposed on these vehicles, they often cause a slow down in the lane they are travelling in (assuming traffic is clear and they are driving under the speed limit). However, just because they are commercial vehicles, does it give them the right for passenger vehicles to "bully" them? Watch this video to find out what I mean: IMG_7319.MP4 What Happened? The accident above involved a lorry (cam-vehicle) and a Lexus RX300 SUV along lane 2 of an expressway. The lorry was travelling along lane 2 of the expressway at a constant speed before the reckless Lexus SUV decided to cut in front of it abruptly. Just as the Lexus RX300 switched lanes and accelerated, the car in front of the Lexus SUV also switched lanes simultaneously. As a result, the Lexus SUV performed an e-brake to prevent rear-ending the car in front of it. Unfortunately, the lorry travelling behind the Lexus SUV could not react in time and rear-ended the Lexus SUV with a significant amount of impact, shattering its rear window. It is noteworthy that the lorry was not travelling above the speed limit, nor was it speeding, as the lorry alarm could not be heard throughout the video. Netizens' Comments If you're a defensive driver, I am pretty sure you will have enough time to brake. Well said, sir!πŸ‘ Technically, the lorry is allowed to be on lane 2 of the expressway. But regardless, "Yes you can travel as fast as the other cars at 80-90kmh but can you stop as fast as other cars too?" is a very valid point for consideration. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 14. RX500h F Sport RX500h RX450h+ The 2023 Lexus RX rides on the GA-K platform, and the fresh underpinnings let the vehicle shed up to 89 Kg compared to the previous generation. The wheelbase grows by 60 mm, but the rear overhang shrinks by 60 mm, meaning that the overall length doesn't change compared to the previous model. The 2023 RX is coming with four powertrains, but Lexus is only offering details about three of them right now. Details about the 450h+ plug-in hybrid will come later. The 2023 RX will be available in six trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance. The new RX 500h F Sport Performance grade comes with some extra equipment. It has six-piston brake calipers and rides on 21-inch wheels. Inside, the leather upholstery includes suede door trim and perforated material on the steering wheel. The tread plates have F Sport branding. Depending on the grade, 10 colors will be available: Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Copper Crest, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, and Grecian Water. Inside, the new RX has an infotainment screen with a lower position that puts it next to the instrument cluster rather than being on top of the dashboard. A display as large as 14 inches is available. Other available upgrades include a panorama glass roof and a head-up display. Buyers have six upholstery color choices: Macadamia, Black, Birch, Palomino, Peppercorn, and Rioja Red. There are four available trim styles: Black Cascade, Ash Bamboo, Black Open Pore, and Dark Graphite Aluminum.
  15. Rumored to be fully unveiled (online) tomorrow. Basically, this RZ is a distance cousin of Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Sorella Solterra, sharing the same e-TNGA electric vehicle platform.
  16. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/571275/lexus-ct200h-production-end-japan-cherished-touring-edition/ We would forgive you for forgetting about the Lexus CT because there's not much memorable about it, but the hybrid hatchback is finally going out of production in Japan in October 2022. To mark the retirement, Lexus is building a final special edition that it calls the Cherished Touring. The Lexus CT200h Cherished Touring edition is available in two exclusive color schemes. There is a Sonic Titanium roof and a Graphite Black body or a Sonic Titanium roof and Sonic Quartz white body. Regardless of the shade, the spindle grille, fog light surrounds, and rear bumper trim have a shiny, silver finish. The other extra amenities include electrically retracting, heated door mirrors and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside, the Cherished Touring edition has two-tone upholstery that makes the lower portion of the seats and door panels black and the upper parts dark red. There's matching red stitching on the door trim, instrument panel, knee pads, and steering wheel. The model comes standard with heating for the steering wheel and seats. Like every example of the CT200h, power comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that makes 98 horsepower (73 kilowatts) and 105 pound-feet (142 Newton-meters) of torque by itself. The electric motor contributes 80.5 hp (60 kW) and 153 lb-ft (207 Nm). Lexus' Japanese site for the CT200h doesn't list the total system output, but the specs suggest it's the same 134 hp (100 kW) from other markets The CT200h Cherished Touring edition retails for 4,223,000 yen after taxes in Japan ($36,580 at current exchange rates). This is how a 2011 Lexus CT200h looks like.
  17. Been a late comer to the EV era, I think this show hand / all-in moment is Toyota way of playing catch up (heh look here, I have everything ready ok!)... But the fact remain that they are quite far behind other big names from Europe, Korea and China. During the media briefing on battery EV strategies, Akio Toyoda shocked the automotive world by unveiling 15 fully electric concepts previewing future models of Toyota and Lexus. What must be the largest rollout of concept cars in history includes everything you can imagine, from city cars, sedans, SUVs of all shapes and sizes to pickups and sportscars. Some of them are based on existing models, but there are also several all-new vehicles based on the EV-dedicated e-TNGA architecture. The β€œshowroom of the future” as Akio Toyoda called it, had a bunch of other EVs hiding behind the curtain. The lineup for the Lexus brand includes its first dedicated EV called the RZ which is the production version of the LF-Z Electrified concept. Then there is a sports battery EV that looks like the spiritual successor of the LF-A with an expected cruising range of over 700 km (435 miles) thanks to solid-state batteries, and an expected 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in the low 2-second range. Additionally, we saw full-size prototypes of a large SUV (Lexus Electrified SUV) and an unnamed Lexus-branded sporty sedan. The latter also appeared in hatchback form in the official renderings, alongside a 2+2 cabriolet featuring similar styling. Last but not least, Akio Toyoda showed us another series of models calling them β€œthe diverse Toyota EVs”. These include commercial vehicles like an autonomous shuttle bus, a compact van designed for both business and leisure, and a versatile urban EV. The Compact Cruiser EV incorporates styling features from the FJ Cruiser in what could become an off-road-focused five-door EV. Next to it, there is Toyota’s first electric dual-cab pickup which appears to be similar to the Hilux or the Tacoma in terms of dimensions but gets modern design features inspired by the larger Tundra. The Small SU EV looks like an electric CH-R with a dynamic styling approach, while the Crossover EV is slightly larger and more subtle in terms of exterior design, likely previewing Toyota’s entry into the C-SUV segment. Finally, there is an EV sportscar with mid-engined proportions and a two-seater cabin which could become the future MR2 serving as Toyota’s treat for petrolheads. T.B.C.
  18. The feeling of being helpless when you are forced into a corner can be pretty unbearable. Watch the video below to find out what this Toyota driver did when faced with a similar situation: What Happened? This incident happened along Pearl's Hill Road. The Toyota driver (The person filming) went to deliver some goods and came back to a 'boxy' situation where he found his car boxed into a corner. A Lexus ES250 doubled parked and blocked the cam car, preventing him from driving off. The Toyota driver proceeded to call the number displayed on the Lexus' dashboard but to no avail. Moments later, the Lexus driver returned to his car, and this was where turmoil started to brew. The Verbal Exchange To cut matters short, here is the geist of their verbal exchange in English: The argument stopped when a passerby intervened and proceeded to calm the Lexus driver down while guiding him to his car. Here's Some Context Here's a Google Maps screenshot for the uninitiated to show you a better view of where the incident took place. The circled area is the exact location of the incident. Painting A False Perception? The video painted a perspective that the Lexus driver was in the wrong for double parking. But guess what? After looking at the Google Maps screenshot, you will realise that the area where both cars are parked is not meant for parking. It doesn't matter which party is correct or wrong - The fact that they illegally parked suggests both are equally at fault. Netizens' Comments Try already then let me know can? Hello Uncle, do you know what is doxxing??? What a boomer. There was bound to be a comment that mentioned "NS" or "National Service". What has NS got to do with this? Stop making serving NS sound like a privilege. ----------------------- Witnessed an accident? See something interesting on the roads? 19. The luxobarge also gets dual touchscreens and F Sport and Ultra Luxury trims for the first time. Better late than never, the third-generation Lexus LX is finally being retired after no fewer than 14 years on the market. It was well worth the wait as the all-new SUV brings improvements on all fronts, starting with a new platform that has shaved off a whopping 441 pounds (200 kilograms) of weight over its predecessor. If that rings a bell, it's because the new Toyota Land Cruiser, which won't be sold in the US, has lost the exact same amount of fat as a result of switching to the TNGA-F platform. The styling is how pretty much everyone assumed it would be, featuring a side profile denoting the LX is heavily related to its more mainstream Toyota equivalent. It's worth noting the Lexus has a slightly different quarter glass and rear pillar, but the rest of the silhouette is largely identical. A massive spindle grille at the front and a wide LED light bar at the rear represent the main changes on the outside compared to the LC, along with more generous use of chrome. It's inside the cabin where there are some major differences between the two as the revamped Mercedes GLS rival gets Lexus' first dual touchscreen setup. Measuring 12.3 inches, the upper screen shows navigation and audio controls, plus the off-road details of the Multi-Terrain Monitor system when you're going off the beaten path. The lower seven-inch screen provides quick access to the climate settings and can work as a support screen for the Multi-Terrain Select by showing camera feed on the upper screen and off-road data on the smaller display. For the first time since the LX's inception in 1995, the body-on-frame SUV gets an Ultra Luxury grade with a four-seat arrangement boasting independent rear seats that can recline at up to 48 degrees for greater comfort. The front passenger seat can also fold down at the push of a button for greater legroom of up to 43 inches (110 centimeters) and there's also a deployable foot rest coming from behind the front seat. The LX Ultra Luxury gets additional goodies, including overhead ceiling vents, reading lights, and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual screens as standard equipment. Lexus has fitted the upscale version with sunshades on the side and quarter windows, along with comfy seats featuring curved headrests and backrests as well as cushions. A center screen between the rear seats offers the level of functionality usually associated with high-end executive sedans. Another first for the LX is the F Sport trim, riding on unique 22-inch alloy wheels – the largest available for the luxobarge. It's more than just a visual package as Lexus also installs a Torsen limited-slip differential for better traction from the rear axle. The F Sport grade comes with bespoke tuning for the front and rear dampers, along with a rear stabilizer and different settings for the variable suspension and electric power steering. There are no surprises under the hood where the naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 engine is gone, replaced with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 shared with the Land Cruiser. It pumps out 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, thus bringing an improvement of 26 hp and 76 lb-ft over its predecessor. Output is channeled to the road through a ten-speed automatic transmission replacing the old eight-speed 'box. As with all three predecessors, the 2022 Lexus LX features "the golden ratio" of a 112-inch wheelbase, while the approach and departure angles have been carried over from the third-gen model. Useful off-road features include crawl and downhill assist control, not to mention an active height control with more positions than before. Lexus will have the fourth-generation LX at dealers in the United States during the first quarter of 2022.

  21. A truck driver was spotted forcing open the carpark gantry arm for a Malaysian-registered Lexus in an open-air carpark along Hougang St 61 on 1st June, at around 11:26 p.m. The video also showed screenshots of the truck driver having outstanding fines while the Lexus driver did not seem to have a valid Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) or any outstanding VEP fines. Netizens' reactions Several netizens quickly commented on the possibility of the Lexus driver having to push the arm due to the fact that it might not have an in-vehicle unit (IU) as it was a Malaysian vehicle. While the intentions behind forcing the gantry arm open were unclear, it is absolutely dangerous to do so without instruction from the appropriate authorities. Nevertheless, it isn't right to damage public property for the sake of skimping on a few dollars for parking!
  22. You know, usually when I think of swaying side-to-side, I think of something like this. Side-to-side motion, everyone looking good and enjoying themselves. However, when it comes to our local roads, swaying side-to-side usually means this.... Yup. Someone new is getting their 15 minutes of fame today. First of all, a Lexus GS300? I'm giving you props for that as I personally quite like that car. After all, a creamy 3.0-litre V6 from Toyota producing 245bhp and 310Nm of torque in something that comfortable is nothing to sneeze at. What I unfortunately cannot commend you on is your driving, because not only is this Lexus swaying back and forth plus in and out of their lane, they damn near kissed the wall as well. Looks like the Lexus just barely missed the wall too, the lucky bugger. My fellow motorist, if you are feeling rich and dare to risk damage to your car like that, would you mind donating it to me instead. There are a lot of things I would do with that money, starting with not driving like you so I wouldn't have to risk expensive bodywork to my car. Seriously, if you're tired or unable to drive for whatever reason, DON'T DRIVE. Do you know that you can be just as complicit for tired driving just as you are for drunk driving? When you are tired, your reactions are slow and dulled, and you are unaware of what's going on around you, thus making yourself a danger not only to yourself, but also to other road users. Research has shown that driving while tired is almost as good as driving under the influence of alcohol. Either way, it's not going to end well for you because you aren't in full control of your vehicle, making you even more susceptible to other users on the road. But, there is still one more thing with this Lexus. How is it possible to not realise that your road tax has been expired for over 3 months? Either you have ignored all the notifications sent you with regards to this issue, or you are just plain ignorant and refuse to pay your dues. Whatever it is, Lexus driver, due to your appearance online, people are reminding you that your road tax has expired a really long time ago, and this should be enough prompting for you to get your road tax renewed. Being a considerate driver is more than just signalling, not road hogging, and having good road manners. It also entails not putting the other road users around you in danger because you are unable to drive properly, thus causing more danger not only to yourself but everyone around you on the road. It's already stressful enough to drive in Singapore. Don't give yourself a reason to end up on this blog even though we do enjoy writing about your stupidity!
  23. Once again, you see it first on MCF!
  24. The Lexus IS may have been around for the longest time, but it also has been continuously massaged with improvements that ensure it continues to be an appealing proposition against its popular German rivals. This latest facelift sees the car getting not only an extensive exterior redesign, but also numerous body strengthening and a suspension overhaul! The Lexus fortunately passes the Auntie Trolley Test, but there is plenty more to know about the boot of the IS. It looks like headroom could be better at the back... However, Jon is certainly impressed by one little feature available to rear passengers, can you guess what it is? And what about the drive? Well I'll just leave you with this little tidbit. You'll just have to watch the video to find out! Join us on the video!
  25. I saw the new IS300 in white during the sneak peek at Borneo. Looks really good in the flesh. Now waiting to see the IS350 F-Sport in real life. Had a very short test drive in the non-FSport IS300, with the standard shock absorbers(not adaptive variable). The way it handles speed bumps is astoundingly good, better than my AVS equipped GS450h. Also the way Lexus tuned the 2L turbo, I did not experience any turbo lag unlike the S60 T5 I also test drove. One thing I am unhappy with my Lexus salesperson is that he did not allow me to drive 99 curves to better assess the handling and steering of the facelift 2021 Lexus IS. For that reason alone, if I do buy the new 2021 IS, I won't be buying through him.
