  1. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/571275/lexus-ct200h-production-end-japan-cherished-touring-edition/ We would forgive you for forgetting about the Lexus CT because there's not much memorable about it, but the hybrid hatchback is finally going out of production in Japan in October 2022. To mark the retirement, Lexus is building a final special edition that it calls the Cherished Touring. The Lexus CT200h Cherished Touring edition is available in two exclusive color schemes. There is a Sonic Titanium roof and a Graphite Black body or a Sonic Titanium roof and Sonic Quartz white body. Regardless of the shade, the spindle grille, fog light surrounds, and rear bumper trim have a shiny, silver finish. The other extra amenities include electrically retracting, heated door mirrors and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside, the Cherished Touring edition has two-tone upholstery that makes the lower portion of the seats and door panels black and the upper parts dark red. There's matching red stitching on the door trim, instrument panel, knee pads, and steering wheel. The model comes standard with heating for the steering wheel and seats. Like every example of the CT200h, power comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that makes 98 horsepower (73 kilowatts) and 105 pound-feet (142 Newton-meters) of torque by itself. The electric motor contributes 80.5 hp (60 kW) and 153 lb-ft (207 Nm). Lexus' Japanese site for the CT200h doesn't list the total system output, but the specs suggest it's the same 134 hp (100 kW) from other markets The CT200h Cherished Touring edition retails for 4,223,000 yen after taxes in Japan ($36,580 at current exchange rates). This is how a 2011 Lexus CT200h looks like.
  2. The luxobarge also gets dual touchscreens and F Sport and Ultra Luxury trims for the first time. Better late than never, the third-generation Lexus LX is finally being retired after no fewer than 14 years on the market. It was well worth the wait as the all-new SUV brings improvements on all fronts, starting with a new platform that has shaved off a whopping 441 pounds (200 kilograms) of weight over its predecessor. If that rings a bell, it's because the new Toyota Land Cruiser, which won't be sold in the US, has lost the exact same amount of fat as a result of switching to the TNGA-F platform. The styling is how pretty much everyone assumed it would be, featuring a side profile denoting the LX is heavily related to its more mainstream Toyota equivalent. It's worth noting the Lexus has a slightly different quarter glass and rear pillar, but the rest of the silhouette is largely identical. A massive spindle grille at the front and a wide LED light bar at the rear represent the main changes on the outside compared to the LC, along with more generous use of chrome. It's inside the cabin where there are some major differences between the two as the revamped Mercedes GLS rival gets Lexus' first dual touchscreen setup. Measuring 12.3 inches, the upper screen shows navigation and audio controls, plus the off-road details of the Multi-Terrain Monitor system when you're going off the beaten path. The lower seven-inch screen provides quick access to the climate settings and can work as a support screen for the Multi-Terrain Select by showing camera feed on the upper screen and off-road data on the smaller display. For the first time since the LX's inception in 1995, the body-on-frame SUV gets an Ultra Luxury grade with a four-seat arrangement boasting independent rear seats that can recline at up to 48 degrees for greater comfort. The front passenger seat can also fold down at the push of a button for greater legroom of up to 43 inches (110 centimeters) and there's also a deployable foot rest coming from behind the front seat. The LX Ultra Luxury gets additional goodies, including overhead ceiling vents, reading lights, and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual screens as standard equipment. Lexus has fitted the upscale version with sunshades on the side and quarter windows, along with comfy seats featuring curved headrests and backrests as well as cushions. A center screen between the rear seats offers the level of functionality usually associated with high-end executive sedans. Another first for the LX is the F Sport trim, riding on unique 22-inch alloy wheels – the largest available for the luxobarge. It's more than just a visual package as Lexus also installs a Torsen limited-slip differential for better traction from the rear axle. The F Sport grade comes with bespoke tuning for the front and rear dampers, along with a rear stabilizer and different settings for the variable suspension and electric power steering. There are no surprises under the hood where the naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 engine is gone, replaced with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 shared with the Land Cruiser. It pumps out 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, thus bringing an improvement of 26 hp and 76 lb-ft over its predecessor. Output is channeled to the road through a ten-speed automatic transmission replacing the old eight-speed 'box. As with all three predecessors, the 2022 Lexus LX features "the golden ratio" of a 112-inch wheelbase, while the approach and departure angles have been carried over from the third-gen model. Useful off-road features include crawl and downhill assist control, not to mention an active height control with more positions than before. Lexus will have the fourth-generation LX at dealers in the United States during the first quarter of 2022.
  3. The feeling of being helpless when you are forced into a corner can be pretty unbearable. Watch the video below to find out what this Toyota driver did when faced with a similar situation: What Happened? This incident happened along Pearl's Hill Road. The Toyota driver (The person filming) went to deliver some goods and came back to a 'boxy' situation where he found his car boxed into a corner. A Lexus ES250 doubled parked and blocked the cam car, preventing him from driving off. The Toyota driver proceeded to call the number displayed on the Lexus' dashboard but to no avail. Moments later, the Lexus driver returned to his car, and this was where turmoil started to brew. The Verbal Exchange To cut matters short, here is the geist of their verbal exchange in English: The argument stopped when a passerby intervened and proceeded to calm the Lexus driver down while guiding him to his car. Here's Some Context Here's a Google Maps screenshot for the uninitiated to show you a better view of where the incident took place. The circled area is the exact location of the incident. Painting A False Perception? The video painted a perspective that the Lexus driver was in the wrong for double parking. But guess what? After looking at the Google Maps screenshot, you will realise that the area where both cars are parked is not meant for parking. It doesn't matter which party is correct or wrong - The fact that they illegally parked suggests both are equally at fault. Netizens' Comments Try already then let me know can? Hello Uncle, do you know what is doxxing??? What a boomer. There was bound to be a comment that mentioned "NS" or "National Service". What has NS got to do with this? Stop making serving NS sound like a privilege. ----------------------- Witnessed an accident? See something interesting on the roads? 4. Don't seem to look any different from the current RX as a matter of fact looks identical.
  5. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-2021-lexus-previewed-not-coming-uk The low-resolution, darkened shot, posted on the brand's Facebook page, shows the rear end of the new BMW 3 Series rival and reveals it features a full-width lighting strip, much like the UX crossover. The post also reveals an unveiling date of 9 June for the new model. However, Autocar has been told that the model won't be sold in either the European market or the UK. The IS has been offered here in its previous three generations, but sales have fallen in the face of the booming SUV market and newer range arrivals. Lexus shifted 3282 examples in 2019 - nearly half the number sold in 2016. A Lexus UK spokesperson said: "Roughly 80% of all Lexus models sold in Europe are SUVs and the larger ES is outselling the current IS at a rate of around two-to-one, so we made the decision not to introduce this new model to the UK market." Technical details for the new IS are thin on the ground. Without the tough European Union efficiency regulations to worry about, there may be less of a pressing need for plug-in hybrids or electric versions, so we expect it will make use of Lexus's tried-and-tested parallel hybrid powertrain in launch variants.

  7. You know, usually when I think of swaying side-to-side, I think of something like this. Side-to-side motion, everyone looking good and enjoying themselves. However, when it comes to our local roads, swaying side-to-side usually means this.... Yup. Someone new is getting their 15 minutes of fame today. First of all, a Lexus GS300? I'm giving you props for that as I personally quite like that car. After all, a creamy 3.0-litre V6 from Toyota producing 245bhp and 310Nm of torque in something that comfortable is nothing to sneeze at. What I unfortunately cannot commend you on is your driving, because not only is this Lexus swaying back and forth plus in and out of their lane, they damn near kissed the wall as well. Looks like the Lexus just barely missed the wall too, the lucky bugger. My fellow motorist, if you are feeling rich and dare to risk damage to your car like that, would you mind donating it to me instead. There are a lot of things I would do with that money, starting with not driving like you so I wouldn't have to risk expensive bodywork to my car. Seriously, if you're tired or unable to drive for whatever reason, DON'T DRIVE. Do you know that you can be just as complicit for tired driving just as you are for drunk driving? When you are tired, your reactions are slow and dulled, and you are unaware of what's going on around you, thus making yourself a danger not only to yourself, but also to other road users. Research has shown that driving while tired is almost as good as driving under the influence of alcohol. Either way, it's not going to end well for you because you aren't in full control of your vehicle, making you even more susceptible to other users on the road. But, there is still one more thing with this Lexus. How is it possible to not realise that your road tax has been expired for over 3 months? Either you have ignored all the notifications sent you with regards to this issue, or you are just plain ignorant and refuse to pay your dues. Whatever it is, Lexus driver, due to your appearance online, people are reminding you that your road tax has expired a really long time ago, and this should be enough prompting for you to get your road tax renewed. Being a considerate driver is more than just signalling, not road hogging, and having good road manners. It also entails not putting the other road users around you in danger because you are unable to drive properly, thus causing more danger not only to yourself but everyone around you on the road. It's already stressful enough to drive in Singapore. Don't give yourself a reason to end up on this blog even though we do enjoy writing about your stupidity!
  8. A truck driver was spotted forcing open the carpark gantry arm for a Malaysian-registered Lexus in an open-air carpark along Hougang St 61 on 1st June, at around 11:26 p.m. The video also showed screenshots of the truck driver having outstanding fines while the Lexus driver did not seem to have a valid Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) or any outstanding VEP fines. Netizens' reactions Several netizens quickly commented on the possibility of the Lexus driver having to push the arm due to the fact that it might not have an in-vehicle unit (IU) as it was a Malaysian vehicle. While the intentions behind forcing the gantry arm open were unclear, it is absolutely dangerous to do so without instruction from the appropriate authorities. Nevertheless, it isn't right to damage public property for the sake of skimping on a few dollars for parking!
  9. Looking to celebrate a big milestone and take the next step up into the life of automotive luxury? The Lexus IS will tick all the right boxes for you. The passage of time is a fundamentally inescapable reality of life, one perhaps most easily marked by the annual celebration of your entrance into this world - birthdays. But marking the passage of time should be more than just plotting out one day in the calendar. Life should be celebrated in milestones. Milestone moments in life represent significant changes - changes that elevate and enhance our lives for the better. Starting school is a big milestone. Getting your first job is a big milestone. Turning 30 is a big milestone. Getting married is a big milestone. And, buying your first premium car is a big milestone, too. Taking that next automotive step requires a fair amount of deliberation - the car needs to deliver notable improvements to your quality of life, and at the same time still needs to be practical, usable and reasonably financially accessible. And of course, it must be exciting - a fitting celebration for a grand occasion. Here are four ways the Lexus IS is the ideal choice for the next step in life. Impeccable quality Arguably, the most important thing about a premium car is its quality - from the materials used to the level of craftsmanship. The Lexus IS is appealing both outside and inside, with its sleek sporty exterior that cocoons a cabin that is faultlessly crafted with hand stitched seams and premium materials, creating a luxurious and lavish ambience. Sensible utility Sharp styling and fine materials are all well and good, but a car must fulfill its fundamental purpose well, and the Lexus delivers. Enter the driver seat and you'll feel a sense of familiarity accentuated with quality, making this car an easy driver that's ideal for city living. Parking is an effortless and anxiety-free endeavour due to its compact size, but don't let its stature fool you - the IS cleverly disguises comfortable and ample seating for up to five, and also boasts a sensibly sized 480-litre boot that will accommodate a young growing family. Easy accessibility Stepping up into luxury obviously comes at a cost, but that doesn't mean it's not achievable. In fact, with a list price of $176,800, the Lexus IS is in fact one of the most affordable cars in its segment right now. The Lexus IS also makes enhanced performance accessible. The turbocharged 2.0-litre delivers 241bhp and 350Nm of torque to the rear wheels in silky smooth fashion. And, that enhanced performance doesn't come at a significant compromise on fuel economy - the car is rated at 13.3km/L. Fitting eligibility Ultimately, celebrating milestones and taking the next step in life is all about the feel good factor. Whether it's buying your dream car, the Rolex you have been aspiring to, or even your dream guitar, these are all celebrations of personal accomplishment, and must imbue you with a sense of joy and pride. Behind the wheel of the Lexus IS, there's no doubt that you will feel good. With its effortless power, sweet and assured handling and ample refinement, the Lexus IS delivers a heartily luxurious and emotional experience perfectly suited for the modern gentleman. As a proud owner of the Lexus IS, there's no doubt that it will enhance your life is a multitude of ways, and will capably take you on to your next big milestone in life.
  10. The Lexus IS may have been around for the longest time, but it also has been continuously massaged with improvements that ensure it continues to be an appealing proposition against its popular German rivals. This latest facelift sees the car getting not only an extensive exterior redesign, but also numerous body strengthening and a suspension overhaul! The Lexus fortunately passes the Auntie Trolley Test, but there is plenty more to know about the boot of the IS. It looks like headroom could be better at the back... However, Jon is certainly impressed by one little feature available to rear passengers, can you guess what it is? And what about the drive? Well I'll just leave you with this little tidbit. You'll just have to watch the video to find out! Join us on the video!
  11. I saw the new IS300 in white during the sneak peek at Borneo. Looks really good in the flesh. Now waiting to see the IS350 F-Sport in real life. Had a very short test drive in the non-FSport IS300, with the standard shock absorbers(not adaptive variable). The way it handles speed bumps is astoundingly good, better than my AVS equipped GS450h. Also the way Lexus tuned the 2L turbo, I did not experience any turbo lag unlike the S60 T5 I also test drove. One thing I am unhappy with my Lexus salesperson is that he did not allow me to drive 99 curves to better assess the handling and steering of the facelift 2021 Lexus IS. For that reason alone, if I do buy the new 2021 IS, I won't be buying through him.
  12. I just recenlty got a COE lexus IS250. a, mot sure what fuel grade to pump so i just pump 98 to be safe, as i read on some manual that the min RON is 96. am i wasting money by pumping 98 ?
  13. Hi I am looking to install the a Pioneer AVH-Z9250BT for my lexus is250. tired of hearing ridiculous claims or quotes or installing the android unit. i want this head unit as im quite fussy with sound quality and want the WIRELESS APPLECARPLAY feature. hope members can point me the way of decent workshops that can install this. Thanks in advance !
  14. https://mothership.sg/2020/10/shell-...V1h17lLs9hOBgc Shell: Committed to resolve matter as soon as possible Speaking to Mothership, a Shell spokesperson confirmed that such an incident occurred at Shell Upper Bukit Timah PIE on the evening of Sep. 18. They also said that they are guided by a set of internal procedures to investigate and get in touch with the customer concerned. Here's their statement in full: "Instances of unsuccessful payments for refuelling occur from time to time and are mostly accidental by nature. We can confirm that such an incident occurred at Shell Upper Bukit Timah PIE on 18 September 2020, 6.56pm. Shell deduct the $ from the attendant, and Shell no CCTV to capture the car plate?? Everyone flock to this station and pump and run?
  15. Is your S.O. always complaining about length? Well then this might be just the thing that she (or he?) is looking for. Lexus has extended (literally!) their popular RX model range to now include a three-row version, apparently because showroom visitors in the U.S.A have been asking for a seven-seater of their favorite SUV. Lexus inform us that numerous improvements have been made to this facelifted model of the RX350L in order to sharpen up its handling, including the use of new Laser Screw Welding and high-strength adhesives for the body, and new dampers equipped with a Friction Control Device to keep said body in check. And from the driver's seat, the car feels those improvements. Despite being such a large car, the whole thing steers accurately and is very easy to place on the road, after a little acclimatisation of course. Which is all well and good, but let's get real. Nobody is going to buy this Lexus with the expectation of razor-sharp handling through the roads of Kent Ridge. So let's talk about how this car performs where it was truly designed to excel: On the highway. I would typically be the first to join the anti-SUV bandwagon but gosh, is this thing a revelation. Yes, you do get some float when you hit some low-frequency undulations at just the right speed, but I'll excuse the car's weight and necessarily soft damping. Everywhere else, the car rides over bumps with absolute aplomb. Ignore any camber changes and bumps on the road, you simply keep the steering wheel in the direction of intended travel and plough along, just as a proper limousine ought to. Mind you, this thing was riding on 20-inch rims as tested. But a quality ride does not alone make a good cruiser, and the RX350L also comes in hitting with supreme insulation. You genuinely will not be able to tell the quality of the tarmac as you ride along in the RX350L, either with your ears of through the steering wheel. With the three days I had the car I frequently found myself anticipating the hour in which I would be able to leave my desk just so that I can fall into the supple leather seats, shut the doors, and then just laze in the cabin's supreme quietness. It genuinely is that good. Combine this with the fact that the car comes with ventilated seats and an air-conditioning system that works very well, and I think you will not doubt when I say the car could rival many bedrooms for comfort levels. Which is a good thing then, because you do not want to have too many kids to ferry around in this thing. Third-row passengers are genuinely woefully catered for space-wise, although the forward two rows will get more than a generous share of the car's length. But hey, space for all that suspension travel and the rear double wishbones has to come from somewhere right? Fold the third-row down however, and you get a whopping 652 litres of boot space, so think of this as a covered luxury truck and you should be fine. And the one flaw with the car? Well, the 12 speaker system needs a bit of work. I'm no sound engineer for sure, but the car's speakers manage to combine that tinny effect you get from cheap earphones with the muddy sound you get from a bass-boosted headphone. It ain't terrible to listen to, but it sure as hell stands out when everywhere else you see and touch (and even the places you don't, read the full review) is so well put together. But if you can get over something like that and need a large SUV to ferry your kids along on your frequent Ikea runs, rest assured that this thing have the necessary length to satisfy anyone. Read the full review here!
  16. Teaser... Can you make out what will LM look like with the above photo? Here is one more. Can't imagine a thing? OK, this is the obvious one... Yes, it look like a badge-engineered Toyota Alphard. And here are some nice CGIs. The car will be officially unveiled during the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show, on 16 April. Stay tuned for more info.
  17. hola my first new topic here on MCF currently considering these 2 (or rather 3) cars but really having difficulty deciding between another. i have test drove only the Lexus GS450H among this, unless including the '08 XF 3.0 v6 petrol. First of all just listing some of my opinions on the cars, LEXUS GS450h (2010) Likes -SUPERB SUPERB Torque and power (254Kw) , Non-stop acceleration until there is not enough numbers on the speedometer -AWESOME handling even at high speeds (+sports suspension works) -The seats are far more comfortable and better feeling than on the Jag XF (maybe cause asian body?) -Easier to use infotaintment system than on the XF -crystal clear Mark levinson sound system dislikes -brand (aka face value) still bit of a setback on this. Some people say lexus for uncle lexus is expensive toyota ..... - interior not as posh as on Jag XF. bit boring la basically -boot space (yes, hybrid batteries... but not that important) Jaguar XF 2.2D /2.0T (2012 facelift) Likes - aircon vents and gear knob elevation ( every jag owner knows (: ) -POSH super luxurious interior, slightly less dated compared to Lexus -ITS A JAG - Diesel efficiency of 1000km full tank (2.2D) dislikes - the infotainment system seems a lot more complicated and difficult to use than on the Lexus - engine specs nowhere near the lexus for both the 2.0 or 2.2 ( lexus really no fight in this segment ) - seats (as mentioned above) - diesel clatter and pumping together with lorries and vans (for 2.2D) - 100hp less but drinks more than lexus (2.0T) anyone owns one of these cars can give an opinion? cheers bros, safe driving :)
  18. Lexus has been dropping hints about entering the private yacht game over the past couple of years and on Friday it finally confirmed it with the reveal of the LY 650, a 65-foot luxury yacht billed as the automaker's fourth flagship. The others are the LC coupe, LS sedan and LX SUV. The LY 650 exists only as a series of computer-generated renderings at present but Lexus has confirmed plans for production, with the first to be unveiled late in 2019. The move is part of Lexus boss Shigeki Tomoyama’s desire to, “present a dream-like vision of the luxury lifestyle; one where the Lexus yacht expands the potential of Lexus mobility to the ocean.” Lexus has teamed up with boat builder Marquis-Larson of Pulaski, Wisconsin to develop its yacht, which the automaker says is the first production-bound boat to feature the L-finesse design language. It isn't the first L-finesse-inspired boat, however. That honor goes to the Lexus L42 LF-1 sport yacht concept unveiled in in 2017. Lexus says the decision to proceed with production of the LY 650 came following the strong interest generated in the L42 LF-1 concept. Several of the most attractive features from the 42-foot concept have made their way onto the LY 650, such as the pronounced bow, curved deck accents and accentuated aft hips complete with 19-foot beam. The powertrain for the LY 650 will be sourced from marine engines expert Volvo Penta, part of the Volvo trucking group. The standard setup is a pair of 12.8-liter inline-6 IPS 1200 diesel engines, each good for about 900 horsepower. Those seeking greater performance will be able to opt for the IPS 1350 version of the engine which ups the power to 1,000 hp. It certainly would have been cooler to see Lexus develop its own powertrain for the yacht, especially since the automaker already has some experience in the boating segment through its parent company Toyota, which has a well-established marine division that produces sports fishing boats, cruisers, and other crafts for those who love the open water.
  19. Lexus designer Tadao Mori, speaking of the just revealed LC convertible concept, says, "A production version of this concept would be exhilarating in many different ways." Would be? This concept is exhilarating—so much so that we'd like to apply the same present tense to its status as a production vehicle. So far, it's a show car making its debut at the 2019 Detroit auto show. What's there to think about, Lexus? The slinky LC coupe that has been on sale since 2017 still looks like a concept car that Lexus accidentally shipped to dealerships. This for-now hypothetical topless variant cranks up the visual wattage to electrocution levels. Like the hardtop LC, the topless convertible has a rakish stance and voluptuous body contours. A pair of bladelike protrusions flow from behind each rear headrest to the taillights, tamping down the visual height of the LC's booty. Even though the convertible's rear deck appears much longer than the coupe's stubby piece, the style works and is much better negotiated than the rear on its would-be competitor, the Mercedes-Benz SL-class. From where we're sitting, little about the convertible concept seems conceptual. Without a doubt, this is a production-ready vehicle (likely a chopped-up series-production LC coupe), albeit wearing too-big (and very attractive) 22-inch wheels. Drop an inch from those rims' diameters to a more pothole-friendly 20- or 21-inch design, ensure that the power-folding roof operates as it should and keeps water out, and put this thing on sale! Lexus is providing few details about the concept beyond its dimensions (predictably, it is nearly the same size as the coupe, being 0.4 inch longer and 0.2 inch lower), and earnest quotes from its designer hinting that an LC convertible seems headed to dealers in the future. Should that pan out, look for the production model to be available solely in LC500 guise with the LC500 coupe's 471-hp 5.0-liter V-8. The coupe's LC500h hybrid powertrain probably won't make the leap to the convertible, mostly because its lithium-ion battery pack sits between the rear shock towers, behind its vestigial rear seat—precisely where the LC convertible's roof would need to be stored when lowered. But maybe Lexus will find a way to reconcile that packaging conundrum. One thing's for certain: If Lexus builds this LC convertible, it can only be heavier than the already porky coupe. If it looks this good, however, we won't care.

  21. Hi bros, Anyone knows the latest price for es250 and any perks. How many years warrenty and servicing , lastly any good sales consultant to recommend? Many thanks J.t
  22. Hi all, if you saw my thread about 6 months ago, i drive a '10 Lexus GS450h (s190) car is about 8.5 years old now , but a nightmare happened..... i was stuck in a Jam on the way back from Johor at CIQ. Engine produces diesel like clattering noise. no problem driving yet with no engine light whatsoever. Next, white smoke from exhaust, did not notice any rising temperature levels. After clearing passport, car engine shuts off, the engine still starts , but Temperature level rises to H and does not accelerate. (worst place to have a breakdown, $500 sgd to tow back to sg.....) Workshop diagnosis still not clear, engine taken down from car but yet to open up engine 6 cylinders, only 2 cylinders have normal compression ratio, 1 is completely dead, the remaining 3 are very weak... predicted repair sum they mentioned was upwards of $5k, but no promise that it will not be higher. if Scrapping the car is not an option, how would you repair it? workshop suggested overhaul or new engine ( from scrapyard, if there is any in the first place) any knowledgeable people able to advise on this issue ?? from replacement engine availability , price, any past experiences with similar cars... I did not have predicted a LEXUS to give me 2 big big problems with less than a year on owning...... maybe conti more common but can't find any info regarding present issue on internet... leaving scrapping out, i dont think anyone would wanna spend a fortune on a car with less than 2years coe left.... quotations from workshops that are able to repair at the cheapest possible rates are appreciated too.... your help and advice are deeply appreciated........
