  1. To sell well in Singapore, you need: 1. the reliability of a Toyota 2. the brand of a Lexus 3. the smallest possible displacement The newly updated ES range, with a new 2.0L engine, really hoseh liao. Even the current ES250 is already quite well priced compared to its stablemates (eg GS). It just needs to be slightly more competitive before we have a bestseller. See more at: http://www.netcarshow.com/lexus/2016-es/
  2. Just put deposit for the NX200T Executive and found out that the seats are made using Nuluxe not real leather. Read Mercedes uses Artico and BMW uses Sensatec in some models. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between such material and real leather?
  3. Auto Express has compared Lexus's GS F to one of its rival, the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS, which is better known elsewhere as the Holden Commodore HSV GTS. Priced quite a bit cheaper than the Lexus in the U.K., the more powerful Holden has 576bhp from its supercharged 6.2-litre LS3 engine and goes into battle looking stronger than its rival on paper. The GS F, which was revealed recently at our local Motor Show a couple of weeks ago, "makes do" with only 470bhp from its 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine. So which one is faster around a track and which one is more fun to drive? Watch the video to find out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=527&v=MkP_JqbjJOA
  4. In partnership with Goodwood Road & Racing, Ben Collins, the former Top Gear Stig, has reviewed the Lexus's current F family, the RC F and GS F. And at the same time, he shows us what he can do in its 2012 supercar, the LFA. With its production stopped in 2012, after just two years of assembly, the LFA is one of Japan's all time greats. With that mind, Ben tries to figure it out in the video whether some of the LFA's qualities have been passed on to its other performance models in the lineup, namely the RC F and GS F. Being old Stig, it would be weird if he did not shred the cars' tyres in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zg0Bt4Rv3U
  5. Lexus claims the new Lexus RC F is styled to support the most powerful V8 performance car ever developed by Lexus. While I cannot comment on the credibility of the statement, as no performance figures were revealed, I have to say the coupe is an exceptionally striking vehicle. The spindle grille might not be for everybody, but I believe the RC F wears it best. And not to forget, it has an well sculpted rump too. Also, personally this is Lexus' best work since the LFA and the new GS Sedan. Perhaps its the sharp styling or the colour, but the rear end reminds me of a 'Cybertron' look. It would make a good Decepticon, in my opinion. Although it is based on its 'tamer' RC Coupe sibling, the RC F has wider wheels and tyres, an active rear wing, air scoops, cooling ducts and carbon fibre components. The Lexus spindle grille, now a hallmark trait for Lexus' models, features a more subtle 'F' pattern on the lower half, while not failing to dominate the front fascia of the RC F. The hood is higher than on the RC coupe to accommodate the larger V8 engine and create a powerful flared profile. Three variations of 10-spoke, 19-inch, forged aluminum wheels are available, including a hand polished design. It might be a performance coupe, but apparently Lexus' obsession to detail isn't overlooked! Like the LFA supercar, the RC F features an available speed sensitive active rear spoiler which deploys at around 80km/h and retracts when speeds hit less than 40km/h. The interior complements the aggressive exterior, as the instrument panel is dominated by a central meter, which changes according to the four selectable driving modes. The information, colour and text size of the display can also be altered. With the RC F, Lexus will debut an, elliptical cross-section thick grip, steering wheel with optimum placement of paddle gear shifts. I have genuinely no idea what that means but I don't really like the chunky and thick wheel. That is probably the only complaint I have with this car, the steering wheel and the location of the star/stop ignition button, which looks a little high and far from the driver doesn't it?
  6. The Shibetsu Proving Ground (SPG) in Japan is the birthplace of the original Lexus LS 400 and has been the top secret test track for new Lexus models. Recently, Lexus offered an inside look at it. The SPG opened in 1984 after six years of planning and building. Rumour has it that the scale of the construction was so large, the Soviets mistook it for a fort being created by the Japanese. Imagine the Soviets mobilising their troops..right.. Hidden behind heavy security and tall metal fences are five circuits, each varying in size and function. The longest of these is about 10 kilometres. The tracks are surrounded with tiny villages of buildings and facilities, used to assess and maintain all kinds of vehicles, ranging from production cars to highly confidential prototype models. A high speed circuit on home soil didn't take long to bear fruit for Lexus. Firstly, the SPG helped reduce costs. It also sped up the research and development process, with the majority of testing now done in-house. When it came to the LS 400, the proving ground's biggest contribution was helping to forge superb aerodynamics and an exceptionally quiet cabin environment. More impressively, the engineers could analyse and perfect the vehicle's acceleration, movement and noise at speeds as fast as 250km/h - impossible on the shorter domestic courses previously used by Lexus. The four other circuits at Shibetsu also have their own special features - such as tree-lined country roads - to help put vehicles through their paces. To examine the effects of certain road conditions on Lexus vehicles, more than 20 road surfaces unique to different regions and countries around the world, such as the German autobahns, have been duplicated and installed on several sections of the courses at Shibetsu. We wonder if there's a mini Nurburgring in the SPG? Well all in all, SPG brims over with everything the Lexus automobile engineer - they call them takumi - needs to hone the vehicles. Is this Area 51 for Lexus? Or perhaps they have another Area 52 somewhere else? Whatever it is, this is a really rare glimpse and we hope to see more of these in the future, only if allowed of course. Photo Credits : Lexus International

  10. Dear Lexus Driver, Was driving out from Clarke Quay 3e mscp and you are behind me. Seeing that you are driving quite close to me, in other words "Tailgating". I assume you are going to try your luck on free parking(because i have past exp on such cases where driver tailgated me in amk). Alas, i knew it! When i exited, the barrier have yet to lower down and you are soooo closed to me that you can "escape" without paying anything. These happened at 855pm -858pm on 2nd Jul. I just want to let you know there are cctv everywhere in the mscp. Also, you are driving Lexus and resort to much low means to get foc parking. Rich but selfish and pathetic way to achieve free parking. I hope you read this hor! Chao kuan!
  11. Lexus wants to increase its presence and build up its reputation in the aftermarket scene in America. These two tuned up RC F and GS F which were be shown at the SEMA show should be able to help them. Looking unmistakably Japanese-styled, the GS F, has been lowered with Tein's prototype street advance damper kit and wears Advan Racing's GT premium Gloss Black wheels that cover some mean-looking Brembo 6-pot caliper brakes. A GReddy supreme SP dual system exhaust and an Advanced FlowEngineering Takeda retain intake system will increase the horsepower count and noise level by a bit too. The RC-F on the other hand, gets a slightly wilder look thanks to its Custom RC F Widebody GT Pandem aero kit which includes that huge spoiler at the back. Sporting a custom Evasive Motorsports six point roll cage and some Volk Racing TE-37 wheels, the RC F is one car that looks ready for some track work. Both are wrapped in 3M's Daily Visual Gloss Burnt Orange.
  12. Lexus tried to grab some attention at the recent Super Bowl 2015 with a creative TV ad featuring its entry level RC 350 coupe. Entry level in this case does not mean it is slow by any means with its 3.5-litre V6 pushing out a good 306bhp. For those have not heard of Super Bowl, it is is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional football in the U.S.A., ending a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year where the top teams fight it out. Viewership is exceptionally high during the event and many watch the game for the commercials only. Hence many companies try their best to steal the limelight with their creative ads. Watch and let us know whether Lexus did so or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOZywMwhEIM In case you have not noticed by now, good word playing on Lexus's part with Remote Control cars also known as RC cars.
  13. Lexus' new RC coupe range will soon be joined by another shapely two-door - the luxury brand has officially confirmed that the LF-LC concept will enter into production in 2016. Intended to slot above the RC as a niche-selling flagship, the production LF-LC will retain at least 90 percent of the concept's sleek styling, Lexus Europe vice president Alain Uyttenhoven said. "The production LF-LC will not be a huge volume [car] for Lexus, but it will bring huge emotion," said Uyttenhoven. Technical details for the range-topping 2+2 coupe aren't available, but rumors have suggested it will ride on a shortened version of the LS sedan's rear-wheel-drive architecture. Speculative reports have suggested that anything from the RC F's naturally-aspirated V8 to hybridized V6 or V8 engines could make their way under the hood. It's unknown whether the LF-LC name will make to production, or whether a shortened LC moniker will be applied. The LF-LC will be part of a Lexus growth plan that calls for a new model every year until 2020. After this year's debut of the NX compact crossover, the RC will follow in 2015, with the LF-LC set to launch in 2016.
  14. Lexus has given the official green light for the stunning LF-LC Concept to go into production. The confirmation is delivered by Brian Smith, Lexus' Vice President, Marketing, who spoke to WardsAuto, a US online car portal, during a recent media event. "That was (intended as) a concept car, and I think it surprised everybody, including us, when Japan said due to overwhelming response they decided to do it," said Smith. Lexus unveiled the Lexus LF-LC Concept 2+2 hybrid sport coupe at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, showcasing the future design direction for Lexus with an emphasis on a driver-focused vehicle. The design was developed by the company's Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California. Powering the concept is a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain producing a combined system output of 499bhp. During the media event, Lexus also confirmed the production for the LF-CC, which is basically a coupe version of the 2013 Lexus IS sedan.
  15. Met an irresponsible Lady Lexus driver this morning while ferrying my baby to my Mother place at the cross junction of Mandai Road and Sembawang Road. The light already turned red for a good 3 to 5sec and she still rush OUT!!!! These are the scums that cause major accident on the road! Very similar to the Ferrari case! Luckily i saw the bikes stop and I stop immediately, my view was blocked by the bikes and din't know some idiot would rush out. Next time better wait for a while before moving off from traffic light! 16. E200 Advantgarde or Lexus ES250 which more durable ( less visiting workshop ) and lower cost to maintain ? Most of my friend said European car always comes with high cost like often visit workshop and higher cost to maintain than Japanese made . Prices different by about 30K and which one gives better value ?
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF-DlL_MlSc The Lexus LFA needs no introduction. Limited to 500 examples, the last Lexus LFA left the Motomachi assembly line back on 14th December 2012. It was delivered in March 2013 subsequently. Now, Lexus has produced a video to pay tribute to the V10 supercar. Towards the end of the video, Lexus states that the end of production of the LFA is only the beginning for Lexus. The luxury car maker claims that the materials, knowledge and techniques used in the LFA will live on in future Lexus vehicles. The LFA features a 552bhp 4.8-litre V10 engine and a carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) body. The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The CFRP materials account for 65 percent of the LFA's body composition by mass. A circuit-tuned variant debuted in 2012, and is the most expensive Japanese road car ever built.
  18. http://www.carscoops.com/2015/04/all-new-2016-lexus-rx-breaks-cover-in.html Currently, in my opinion, the new harrier looks nicer than the RX while the NX is "small". This new RX is timely then!
  19. The 2015 Lexus RC F is the latest car to be added to the ever-growing pantheon of exotic machinery that is the fleet of the Dubai Police force. The 467-horsepower RC F police car won’t exactly be speeding after crims as the exotic cars of the Dubai Police fleet are typically used to patrol what the authorities describe as “important tourist destinations,” such as the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower. The authorities are using the cars to help promote Dubai to potential tourists and organizers of international expos. The cars are also used to market the services of Dubai Police and to get residents interested in getting to know some of their local officers. Other Dubai police cars we’ve reported on are listed below: Aston Martin One-77 BMW M6 Gran Coupe Bugatti Veyron Chevrolet Camaro SS Ferrari FF Ford Mustang GT Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 McLaren 12C Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG tuned by Brabus And these...
  20. The new Lexus CT200h made its world debut at the recent Guangzhou Motor Show in China. But unlike other models within the Lexus family, the development project for the luxury hatchback is headed by Chika Keko - the first female Chief Engineer in the company. It has been three years since the CT was launched, and Keko has to ensure that the new car surpasses the standards set by its predecessor, which was the world's first compact luxury hatchback with a full hybrid drivetrain. Like the rest of the lineup, the CT receives the signature spindle grille, combining Lexus' L-finesse design philosophy of "incisive simplicity", "intriguing elegance" and "seamless anticipation". Keko also highlighted that structural rigidity of the new car was of paramount importance in the development process, so as to achieve a balance between handling and ride comfort. Unsurprisingly, the new CT reinforces the marque's commitment to craftsmanship and bespoke experiences. Keko added that a 'personal touch' was added in every little detail - from engineering components to the design elements. In line with her beliefs, the Chief Engineer currently drives a CT too.
  21. These days, the suited man looks naked without a tie bar, just like how substandard he will appear if he doesn't drive around Kuala Lumpur in a Lexus ES - with police escort, no less. The Lexus ES first saw the light of day in 1989 and has been around for six generations now. As disheartening as it may have been missing out on the fifth generation in Singapore (only available for left-hand drive countries), the latest ES doesn't seem like it's about to disappoint. There is a spanking new hybrid variant, too. The Lexus ES300h, as it's called, sports a 158bhp 2.5-litre twin cam Atkinson cycle petrol engine and a 105kW electric drive motor that's mated to an electronic continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). The petrol-powered ES250 is also available at launch. Exhibiting a 2.5-litre dual VVT-i engine under the bonnet, this variant is capable of 181bhp at 6,000rpm and 235Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. While it finishes the century sprint at a slightly slower 9.8 seconds, it has an impressive fuel economy of 12.7km/L on paper. Of course, like all Lexus, the hand-stitched finish on the dashboard of the ES is just one example of the high levels of luxury and quality evident in the car. Whether or not it's down to hardcore training and testing to achieve this perfection, one thing is for sure - the ES is all about absolute comfort and luxury.
  22. At first I thought was fake video but looks like its real. Thought these hyper powered type cars would have wheelie bars to prevent such things though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxe_DqAkeAk
  23. The folks from 360 Elite Motorworks managed to make the sharp looking Lexus NX even sharper and showcased their masterpiece recently at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. Using the NX 200t with F Sport package as a base, they stuck on an Artisan Spirits body kit onto the car. Consisting of a front lip, rear diffuser, roof spoiler and a set of more aggressive all round fenders, the NX looks stunningly desirable. The bright Molten Pearl paint and huge 21-inch HRE P104 forged monoblock wheels with Toyo Proxes T1R tyres make sure heads turn. Perfromance upgrades are limited at the moment to an intake and exhaust swap while RS-R Sports-i series coilovers ensure it handles as well as it looks.
  24. In the past few weeks, Lexus has teased has with a picture of their new concept vehicle. Lexus plans to showcase the concept vehicle at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Some have said that it could be the next Lexus SC or the next Lexus IS. But judging from the newly leaked concept photos, I doubt it will be the next Lexus IS and more probably it could be the next Lexus SC or a totally new model. From the pictures, we could see that it is a 2+2 coupe and Lexus has named it the LF-LC Concept vehicle. According to Lexus
  25. Hi, I would like to see comments in the comparisons between the Lexus IS250 and BMW 325i or equivalent. I used to drive a BMW 316 since 8 years ago and this car always has small problems like battery related and rear lights bulb failure especially the latter of up to thrice per year. The objectives of this post is to garner first hand intelligence from the owners out there to compare the following:- 1) reliability (maintenance concern) 2) driving satisfaction (responsive and noise insulation) 3) safety 4) performance over say like 2 years later Thank you very much.
