  4. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a33002110/mazda-special-edition-100th-anniversary-miata/ Mazda Miata 100th Anniversary Released in Limited Edition for U.S. Mazda unveils a special edition 100th-Anniversary Miata to mark the company’s 100 years of being in business. The special edition 2020 MX-5 Miata comes in white with a red interior and unique branding throughout. The vehicle is based on the 2020 MX-5 Miata Grand Touring edition. Based on the 2020 MX-5 Grand Touring, the limited-edition 100th Anniversary Miata celebrates Mazda's 100 years of being in business. Offered in a Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint job with a red interior, soft top, and accents throughout, the vehicle takes some color cues from Mazda's first passenger vehicle, the R360 coupe. The 100th-anniversary roadster will be available as either a burgundy red softtop or as an RF (retractable fastback). The top's color is exclusive to this vehicle, so if you’re going to go all special edition, you might as well go all the way. Exclusive “100 Years 1920–2020” badges are situated on the front fenders and the center caps. Inside, the special edition red interior is accented with the vehicle’s unique 100th-anniversary logo embossed on the leather headrests and a tiny plaque placed into the carpet. Even the key fob gets the 100th-anniversary treatment. The Miata has the same 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque as the MX-5 Grand Tourer it’s based on along with the same features. It’ll also be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or Mazda's Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. Those interested in owning one can sign up now with delivery expected to occur this fall starting at $33,615; starting price is $36,370 for the retractable fastback model.
  5. My mx 5 aircon failed on yesterday. Heard hissing sound and I suspect the cooling coil is leaking. The mileage of my car is only 25k and is still under free servicing and warranty. Called Mazda service centre to check if the aircon is under warranty. Give her my car number and told her that I suspect the cooling coil is leaking. She told me is under warranty and I arranged to send my car for repair at the Tanjong Penjuru Centre today. Arrived in the morning, spoke to the SA. He too suspected the the cooling coiling is leaking. He told is that is covered by warranty. Left my car then and went back. The SA called me after an hour to two to tell me that the cooling coil and O rings need to be replace. The warranty only covers the aircon compressor but not the cooling coil and I need to pay around $1200.00 for the repair. I told him that I never encounter or know anyone who need to replace the cooling coil at 25K mileage. It is very obvious the quality of the cooling coil is questionable. And it is a parts that cannot be purposely damage by user. I done all my servicing with Mazda because it is still under the free servicing package. Told the SA to get his manager to contact me. Is a shame that the staffs are trained to prioritize profit rather than reputation.
  6. Now this is one heartening sight! Our local police force is working hard to catch bad-behaving vehicles on our roads! Seen on SG Road Vigilante is this video of an unmarked Traffic Police vehicle zooming up fast on the AYE towards Tuas to catch a motorbike on 13th of December 2020. We can't really see why the bike was being stopped but according to the source, it is a Malaysian-registered bike with a mini rear number plate. While having such a number plate is an offence in our sunny island, we thought the police might also be catching the biker for a speeding offence or having a loud exhaust. As for the rest of us, we now know when you see a white Mazda 3, it might not be a Private Hire Vehicle but an Unmarked Traffic Police car!
  7. Here's Why Mazda is About to be the Best Car Company
  8. Hi all, I am considering between Mazda 3 2014 or impreza 4D, any bros can advise? Also which models have the most options for mod, I would like to change the exhaust, body kits, lightings etc... Thanks
  9. My heart skipped a beat...I am excited! If it does happen and if I am still able to buy a car by then...I will buy this! https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/mazda-reveals-straight-six-engine-could-be-used-next-6
  10. Skoda takes on Mazda MX-5 with new Scala-based open-top roadster source: https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/skoda-takes-on-mazda-mx-5-with-new-scala-based-open-top-roadster-79870 Skoda has surprisingly revealed its very own Mazda MX-5 rival, the Slavia, which is an open-top roadster based on the incoming Scala small hatch. But before you get too excited, it’s worth noting the Slavia is just a concept. In fact, it’s the latest one from the Skoda vocational school in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, which annually tasks students to produce a one-off vehicle in-house. Inspired by the 1958 Skoda 1100 OHC racecar, the Slavia naturally started life as a Scala, but soon its roof was removed and rear doors welded in place, while its underbody was reinforced. Then a rear cover was added behind the Slavia’s remaining front seats, with it highlighted by two flying buttresses that integrate into the redesigned bootlid, which is topped by a prominent spoiler. As a result, it measures 4362mm long, 1793mm wide and 1410mm tall. Finished in White Crystal Blue paintwork, the Slavia borrows its 20-inch Xtreme alloy wheels (with 235/30 tyres) from the Kodiaq RS large SUV, while its brakes package and wheel hubs are shared with the Octavia RS mid-size car. It also gets an upgraded exhaust system. That said, the Slavia’s most striking feature is its underbody LED lighting, which can be set to blue, red or white. And to really cap the exterior transformation off, the bootlid’s Skoda lettering doubles as a brake or reversing light. Inside, the Slavia stands out from the Scala crowd with its Sparco race seats, four-point seatbelts, black perforated leather upholstery with carbon trim and white stitching and piping. The steering wheel and gear selector are also trimmed in white leather up top. Like the Scala, the Slavia is powered by a 110kW/250Nm turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, which sends drive exclusively to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. As reported, the Scala is due in Australian showrooms imminently, with its four-variant range priced between $27,690 and $34,690 plus on-road costs.
  11. We have no idea what to make of this. Shot on the 3rd of October 2020 at the junction of East Coast Road and Siglap Road, an accident occoured between a blue Mazda3 and a couple of motorcyclists. As we can see from the video posted by SG Road Vigilante, the Mazda simply veered slowly out of his lane before crashing into a Deliveroo and McDonalds delivery rider who were waiting to do a right turn at the junction. We are ashamed to say with it happening all very leisurely, the whole incident did looked slightly funny. Our apologies! Could the driver have fallen asleep while driving slowly or was he just playing with his phone and not concentrating on where he was going?
  12. I kinda like its front grill... comfy interior and drives pretty decent with its V6 engine at 273 horses
  13. Bump! Potential CX5 owner here. Any tips on avg monthly maintenance / insurance / road tax etc cost on top of depreciation - over time? Doing some family budgeting on top of Paying the monthly hire purchase loan. After warranty expiry, any potential mega servicing cost eg. gear box, timing belt, etc replacement which will cost a bomb? thanks.
  14. 2022 Mazda RX-7 Rendering Looks Too Good To Be True This artist is not giving up hope. Maybe there will be a new rotary sports car one day. “Without the rotary engine, there would probably be no Mazda. And without Mazda, the rotary engine certainly wouldn’t have been in production for nearly 50 years.” This is the message the Zoom-Zoom company published on a page dedicated to the quinquagenary (yes, it’s a word) of its rotary engine back in 2017. Since then, Mazda has announced the rotary’s return as a range-extending engine, but with no signs of a new RX sports car. Well, there was the jaw-dropping RX-Vision concept back in 2015, but a production version is unlikely to happen. That said, Mazda hasn’t given up on the prospects of a rotary-powered sports car, although it has described this project as being a “race against time” due to emissions regulations getting stricter. It’s “still our dream,” said the company’s head of R&D and the chief designer back in October 2019, so it could happen one day.
  15. Hi guys, Recently I replaced the front speakers to aftermarket and added an sub to the original Mazda Bose System. The result was sure better off than the original bose system. Now I am considering adding on an amp to power the new front speaker but was told by the workshop that as the built in was a bose amp, it requires an amp with built in processor which is rather costly. If using normal 4 channel amp to power the fronts, the result coulbe be worst than current stage. Anyone who have converted their Mazda Bose System could share your valuable experience and set up here?
  16. I am changing car and have always been fond of the Mazda 6, for its style and even more for its wonderful balancing and ride. Would like to find out from the horse's mouth if this car is good or not ? Owners any regret ? Thanks a lot, before i put the pen to paper.
  17. Yes, we know SUVs are all what consumers today want. But as car enthusiasts, they are a no-no in terms of driving fun. Now, here's another example of why SUVs aren't as cool or tough as they look. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's page on 30th April, a Mazda CX-5 was spotted at Lorong Gambir going through a pool of standing water after the day's torrential rain. It all seemed fine and dandy until a photo of the car being towed away was featured. We have no idea how bad the car was damaged by the flood but judging from the photo, the bow wave created by the Mazda was pretty high and water could have gone into its intake system, causing some internal damage. We hope that is not the case and that it is just some electrical issues that caused the car to be immobilised. We also hope the older generation Silver CX-5 that was in one of the photos survived the flood too!
  18. Since we're all grounded during this CB period, thought I'd share some of the old pixs I found of my visit to the Mazda Factory & Museum at Hiroshima back in 2015. Flew into Fukuoka and made my way to Hakata JR to take the Nozomi Shinkansen towards Hiroshima which is only a short 1hr ride away. Always enjoyed ride on probably the best train in the world.
  19. Also to share some information: Some of the new mazda 3 mild hybrid owners who recently collected since last december, regardless of trim/body(hatch or sedan), you might have realised that you have speed limit displayed on your active driving display (aka HUD). This feature is not officially available in singapore market. I have reached out to mazda for an official reply, unfortunately they could only explain that works are in progress to make that feature available.. Therefore, those who got the feature now could be erroneously activated by the technical team either from factory or from service centre, in my opinion as mazda refused to give a straight forward answer to this question.
  20. Mazda has revealed its facelifted Mazda2 in Japan. Set to go on sale there in September, the hatchback will lose its Demio moniker too. On the outside, Mazda claims that the new car has a revised exterior which strips away “superfluous elements” to reveal a “sculpted form that is simple yet rich.” In simpler terms, it meant that the front has a revised grille which is flanked by slimmer headlights plus a new bumper not unlike the Mazda6. At the back, there’s a modified rear bumper with less plastic body cladding and we can also see new tail lights and chrome accents. Inside, the 2 hatch gets new front seats and updated color schemes plus additional sound deadening material for the comfort of the passengers. The Mazda Connect infotainment system has also been updated with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Elsewhere, it gains a lane-keep assist, adaptive LED headlights and an adaptive cruise control system with a stop and go function. Handling wise, the new car features G-Vectoring Control Plus and a retuned suspension that promises to improve ride comfort while certain models can now be equipped with the i-Eloop regenerative braking system.
  21. Good news for fans of Mazda. The Japanese company has announced that it is working a new family of straight-six Skyactiv-X engines for its premium models. Mazda made the announcement during an investor conference and said that the engines will come in both petrol and diesel variants. This comes as a surprise as this is Mazda's first foray into having a straight-six engine in its line up. The new engines will make use of the brand’s Spark Controlled Compression Ignition technology that will be seen in the new Mazda 3 and also be compatible with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies. The company didn’t provide a timeline for the powertrains just yet, nor did it discuss what kind of models will use it. Moving forward, it is safe to assume that this move will see Mazda try to move up into the premium market with larger models running both rear and all-wheel drive drivetrains.
  22. We know Mazda has said that it will not be producing any rotary-engined sports car but once again, Mazda is teasing us with these RX-8 mules. These prototypes were spotted at the Nurburgring undergoing tests, with one painted blue while the other is finished in black and wears the RS trim bodykit. Interestingly, the blue unit features a piece of black and white camouflage across its front fascia which is odd to say the least. Both also sounded different from each other as they went past the camera. Without any info on what is happening, we can only guess that Mazda might just be testing the rotary engines that are meant to work with the electric motors in a future vehicle...
  23. A Japanese publication has suggested that Toyota/Lexus may share a rear-wheel drive platform and inline-six engine with Mazda. A couple of months ago, Mazda announced that they are developing a family of straight-six Skyactiv-X engines for use in its higher-end models and these engines can be matched to a rear- and all-wheel drive drivetrain. This prompted Best Car to investigate, revealing that Toyota’s first Mazda-based model could be a successor to the Mark X sedan that sells in Japan and other ASEAN markets. Lexus could then use the same plaform for a new coupe to sit between the RC and LC in its existing line-up. While this news might seem a little far-fetched, it is definitely a possibility with an increasing number of manufacturers coming together to share common architecture and parts.
  24. I have been seeing a new white Mazda Biante along Braddell road towards CTE/Bartley Rd direction in the morning. I believe this model is rare in Singapore. Can't find the price or car model in MCF! Guess the PI are no longer bringing this in? For those considering buying a MPV, maybe can consider this model. I find it better looking than Mazda 5 or 8. I wonder how this guy bought it.
