  1. Just replaced tyres for my Camry Hybrid. Abit overdue but the Premacy 3 tyres that came with the ride are still doing ok after 2 years and 1.5 month. Anyway decided to change them and have used the after market resource from this forum to shortlist suitable tyres. Very easy that need to enter the 215/55R17 and the suitable tyres would be displayed. But take note that the prices listed are seriously not accurate. I went down a popular tyre shop along Ubi 1 Road and the actual prices are higher. Decided to take up the Pirelli P7C2 at $225 against Premacy 4 at $185 as the reviews are generally more favourable and country of origin. No regrets when driving out as the tyres are very quiet, even more than the Premacy 3 they replaces despite being UHP tyres. And I am sure the tyres would not be noisy when they are old as my Superb came factory-fitted with Pirelli P7 and are still very quiet after 45,000km. But for that ride, most likely I am changing to PS5 as good to try out different tyres if costs are similar. To add on, I am also very happy with the production dates of the P7C2 tyres - 1023. Very fresh indeed.
  2. Pirelli is indeed better than Premacy in terms of noise and comfort. But the sad side is that the tyre wear off much faster.
  3. Hawk Tyres JB quoted for Michelin Premacy SUV+ (225/60/18) at RM 800 per piece. Made in Thailand and manufactured in 2022 Using SGD 1 = RM 3.35, this works out to approx SGD239. Sounds very attractive. Anyone using these tires now and is there a difference between SUV and SUV Plus?
  4. I changed to Assy 5 from PS4 just before the rainy season. The previous PS4 had 35k km on them after 3 years, but already the front tyres were "graining" i.e bits of 5 cent size rubber coming off all over the driving surface. Glad to say that the Assy 5 is as good as PS4 in the wet or dry even though cheaper per tyre by about $60. I did test the grip during our period of heavy rains. The Assy 5 was gripping well and sluicing through pools of water. I has Premacy 3 as stock before the PS4. The Premacy 3 was quiet, very durable tyre. At 3 years and 36k, wear and tear marks very low and still quiet. However, grip in the wet was never its strong point. Every time I come in from the rain to my condo covered car park, even at low speeds there, there would be loud squealing. Around flowing bends in wet, there was a perceptible loss of grip with PRemacy 3. Both the PS4 and Assy 5 did great in similar circumstances
  5. Hi guys just wanted to know wat is the appropriate tyre pressure for this kind of tyres ??? my tyre size is 195/65 R15
  6. 165 so ex. Check out GY Efficient Grip Performance 2. I paid much less for R17 225. It's good in the wet, very quiet and comfy, low rolling resistance and enough dry grip even for my driving (probably a lot more "sporty" then how you claim you drive.). Here's a good site to compare the various options. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2020-Tyre-Reviews-Ultimate-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm Top is Continental Premium Contact 6 but it has very bad wet handling. Second place is GY EG Perf2. Premacy 4 is a distant 7.
  7. Hi, I am asking on behalf of my friend driving a Mazda 2003 Premacy. Have some Qns: 1. Where can I get strut bar for this car 2. Where can I buy another design of the odometer, speedometer. Notjust change the lights colour, but the outlook of it. 3. Anyway to imrpve the car's handling / performance legally
  8. Hi,I am looking to buy the 2L Premacy as family expanding and just wondering if anyone has any experience with the car. Your comments and advise would be much appreciated.
  9. Just got my Premacy. Was told that 1st servicing is at 5000km! How? Must send at 1000 km or not
  10. Its not that difficult to find actually. There are only 2 brands/models that offers this size, Goodyear EfficentGrip Performance and Michelin Premacy 4 The rest no need to see. And don't bother going to Bolehland to change
  11. Hi All! I like to share my new fun with Mazda 5. I just changed my engine oil to brand GReddy and was very amazed at the response of the engine after that. The car is responsive and even the engine sounds so much better! haha A few weeks later, I also changed my tires to Premacy 4 at $150 each. So far, road noise is at lowest and am very satisfy with the new tires. I am very curious to test these tires during wet weather. I was on PS4 previously and holding was just all superb! cheers to All
  12. Any truth in the article below? http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Companies/Mazda-pulling-out-of-minivans HIROSHIMA, Japan -- Mazda Motor plans to end development and production of minivans, whose popularity has waned with the rise of sport utility vehicles, joining other midsize Japanese automakers narrowing their model lineups. The company will not roll out successors to its three current minivan models: the Premacy, known as the Mazda5 outside of Japan; the MPV, also known as the Mazda8; and the Biante. Domestic unit sales of these three models totaled about 10,600 last year, only a quarter of their most recent volume peak in 2010. The Hiroshima Prefecture-based company sees little to be gained from continuing to produce them, judging that big automakers have gained the upper hand in minivan popularity. Production of the MPV will end as soon as this year. When Mazda stops making the Premacy, it will also discontinue supplies of the vehicle to Nissan Motor on an original equipment manufacturer basis. Sales of the three models are expected to end by 2017. The company will channel freed-up resources into its SUVs, a vehicle type with greater global appeal. It plans to develop a seven-passenger model based on its midsize CX-5 that will go on sale as soon as 2018. Minivans enjoyed rock-solid demand as family cars in Japan in the late 1990s and early 2000s. But SUVs have eaten into their popularity as big-capacity autos by playing up design and the fun of driving. Midsize Japanese automakers lacking the depth of resources of say, Toyota Motor, are finding it harder to maintain extensive vehicle lineups amid rising competition. Mitsubishi Motors will end development of its Lancer sedan and freeze its program for the Pajero SUV at the current model. Instead, it is pushing into environmentally friendly vehicles, with plans to release a plug-in hybrid in fiscal 2017. Fuji Heavy Industries, the maker of Subaru cars, led the way in brand consolidation. It ended in-house production and development of minivehicles in 2012 and doubled down on SUVs, a market segment where it has found growth in North America and Japan. The company expects to sell 954,000 vehicles worldwide in the year ending March 31, the most ever. (Nikkei)
  13. Haha I was calculating the other day based on an estimated $125k how much I would have to top up if I upgraded to this 2020 model. Then I saw how much it was and told myself to go back to work lmao. Ride coming up to 3rd year and I have 7 more years to save up ;) Nice Bro! I read a lot on these Michelin Premacy tyres. They are one of the few that have it in our profiles so good thing is we don’t need to change rims. How much is the damage per tyre? I realized I also scratched my rims couple of months back. Changing both rims and tyre for my old avante was around 1.1 for Hankook 16 inch. This price can probably only change 1 tyre for ours so I’m praying I don’t F it up any further.
  14. I have been using Michelin Premacy 4 for a few months now. Comfort and quietness wise definitely beat the original Kumho Solus. It is softer (but not sure how it will be with 20-30k mileage) and definitely suits the comfort biased setup of this car. However, engine noise now can also hear better. Frankly this car is already well insulated on its foundation. Tyres is not going to be day and night but it does enhance its strength. Having said that, it also cost more. About 30% more. Enjoy the car better on a daily basis if it can last as long and not forgetting the bragging rights of "branded" tyres. Otherwise, in terms of value, I think the Hankooks are better value, just like this car.
  15. My spare use only for a day before putting it back. Not viable to use also with 1 new and 3 used kind if combo. I got the Premacy at $300 per piece, think this is about the market price for our not-so-common size. Actually even the Hankooks is about $200 a piece. Hardly anything for below $200 unless u really go budget. Guess a few hundred more over few years can try la if makes the ride safer and more enjoyable. So far I think it suits this comfort-bias car well. They can bring out the quality ride even better.
  16. Wow! Michelin Premacy 4... can ask how much you paid and where? I am looking to pay below $200 per piece lar... ha ha... my tires also kenna pen knife blade just a few months into owning the car... the blade section just nice got wedged between grooves and pierced the thinnest part of the tire surface... so 'zhun'... just got it patched and use as spare tire lor... when I change, will change that out so means change 5 tires... quite chor....
  17. I saw the remote casing on Taobao. Just buy the one with 3 buttons like ours think should be ok since the Sonata is made there too for the local market. I gave the latest Michelin Premacy 4 a try. Was surprise PI brought in our size since the model so new and authorized agent did not carry our size. Even Pilot Sport 4 also got our size already. So decide to give a shot see if worth the premium. So far just break in so can't really tell yet. But of course new tyre sure superb one. So far so good but too early to conclude. Maybe share some feedback later with more mileage. No rattling at my map light area. Used to have a bit inside the head unit but Komoco rectify it for me at my third servicing.
  18. I'm using Michelin premacy Around Mar2017, paid around s$700 for four tyres 225x50x 17 Wet and dry grip is good. Almost 50k km, tyre still very quiet and tyre thread still good. I will still consider the same tyre for my next change. Cheap n good.
  19. Bro, how much is this tyre? Im also using the same size 225/50/17. Currently using Premacy 3 Already 40k km (bought it for S$175 nett per piece last year March) Good and durable tyre for wet/dry road conditions. Even at 40k km, it is still very quiet. maybe still can last another 10k km Thks
  20. not sure leh... i was planning to change Premacy 3st... now saw this RV02.....
  21. I was looking for this model too. Is it as quiet as Michelin Premacy 3?
  22. Manufacturing of the Mazda Premacy (Mazda 5) has stopped in Japan recently. The only place that's still selling Mazda 5 is Indonesia (in fact, they only launched Mazda 5 there last year and also distributed by Eurokars there). Not sure whether it's manufactured there or Thailand's plant.
  23. OK, to put in context: Wish 1G (called pre-facelift or PFL in wish forum) came out (here in SGP) around 2002/3, sold very well, and when new facelift (NFL) came out in 05 (new facelift has the steptronic and taillight became LED type, else all almost the same), it was already selling better than all other makes of MPV combined in SGP... The 2G Wish came out i think in 08 or 09, whose view from the back looks like a shrunken Estima... The internal dashboard is completely diff from the NFL, although the seat configuration is the same. So 2G Stream improved markedly from 1G Stream, and caught up with 2G Wish, which was somewhat similar to 1G Wish... Premacy mark 2, or Mazda 5 1G, was much improved from Premacy, but still lost out to Wish in terms of space, but got triptonic and sliding door. Now Mazda 5 2G has improved on space too... Will check out Mazda...
