It is just a matter of months for the 2012 London Olympics to take place; Mini has released a limited edition of Olympics-inspired Mini Cooper. The cars will hit the road as early as March next year and Mini will only built 2012 units of it. The London 2012 Edition models will come in one of three Union Jack-themed colour schemes which are Chilli Red, White Silver or Lightning Blue. All three will feature white mirror caps, a white roof with the London 2012 logo, and a Union Jack stripe running over the bonnet, roof and rear of the car. The cars will also get specially designed grey 17-inch conical spoke alloy wheels, which are not available on any other model. Inside, a picture of the London skyline is etched across the piano-black dashboard, featuring landmarks like the Tower Bridge and the London Eye. And the patriotic theme extends throughout the cabin: the black leather seats get red, white and blue stitching, as do the headrests, handbrake and floor mats. All models feature extra options such as Lounge Leather sports seats, DAB radio, air-conditioning, cruise control, and chrome interior touches. Just out of curiosity, If a person can afford a 125k car(comfortablely), how much would his salary range be? taking these factor into consideration, 1) late twenties (>27) 2) didnt use parents money to pay for Downpay etc 3) married and have a Mortgage loan (HDB or Condo) 4) car repayment is by self ( not shared by wife, husband etc) 5) started working only after 25yrs (eg. graduate w/NS) reason, seen many young ppl buying car these range, wonder how they do it....

Volkswagen has added a new trim level to its Touareg range. The Exclusive Edition adds certain upgrades such as two-tone leather combinations and unique alloy wheels for a more individualized touch. These features were previously available as standalone items on the options list. Customers can choose between Pepper Beige/Titan Black combination or Dark Burgundy /Titan Black. The center sections of the seats are trimmed in what VW calls "Cool Leather", which is said to reduce surface temperature from intense sunlight. The leather seating system also treats occupants with heated front seats together with 12-way electric adjustment, electro-pneumatically adjustable lateral seat supports and head restraints with longitudinal and height adjustment. In addition, the package includes leather door inserts, stainless steel tread plates, a black roof-liner and special 'Olive Ash satin' wood trim. For the exterior, the Exclusive Edition adds machine-polished 19-inch "Girona" alloy wheels with 265/50 R19 tires or optionally 20-inch "Tarragona" wheels. A silver anodized roof railing is also fitted. The Exclusive Edition is available with all engine options in Germany. You may wish to check out the availability of this option with Volkswagen Centre Singapore.

Range Rover Evoque 5door officially confirmed at the Paris Motor Show

Another photo unveiling at the Paris Motor Show was the Range Rover Evoque in 5 door form. The car, which somehow looks like an enlarged Mini Countryman to me was officially confirmed by Land Rover at the official preview of the 3 door Evoque and after a photograph of it was leaked on the internet. This was amid a seemingly never ending glamorous previews, launchings and unveils of Lamborghinis, Lotuses, Jaguars and so many more. The Evoque 5 door will have the same engine specs of the 3 door. It will have a 2.2liter 4 cylinder turbodiesel engine in two different states of tune, one with 148bhp and another with 187bhp. SHOCKING CASSELBERRY, Fla. -- A mother shot and killed her son and then herself inside a Casselberry gun range Sunday afternoon, according to police. When Casselberry police arrived at the Shoot Straight Gun Range on South U.S. Highway 17-92 (see map) just after 4:00pm, they found two people had been shot in an apparent murder-suicide. Police identified the man as 20-year-old Mitchel Moore. The shooter, his mother, was identified as 44-year-old Marie Moore. There was confusion in the voice of a 911 caller as they tried to explain what happened. "They were on the shooting range. I'm not sure what happened, somebody got shot," said the caller. "Male patient? Do you know where he was shot? Two males?" asked the 911 operator. "Male, I'm sorry, male and female," responded the caller. In another call, a man told the 911 dispatcher that he believed the shooting was an accident and that one person was shot. Eyewitnesses said the pair was acting strangely and then the woman ran out of the room to get more ammunition. When she returned, she shot her son and then turned the gun on herself. Eyewitness Jim Copertino was in shooting target practice next to the pair and said the mother and son appeared hyper and jittery, as if they were on drugs.

It's been over five years since the E90 BMW 3 Series was introduced, and according to Automobile, the all-new bread-and-butter Bimmer is set to hit the market in 2012. Codenamed F30, the next 3er is reportedly set to employ the F20 1 Series' front strut layout instead of the 5, 6 and 7 Series double wishbone arrangement. But the new underpinnings aren't the real news. Five body styles will make up the 2012 3 Series: The standard sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible (each coming out about six months after the former's introduction), along with a Gran Turismo model in 2013. The slant-roof five-door we've reported on previously will take cues from the 5 Series that shares the same name, but will feature a one-piece hatch unlike it's bigger brother's two-piece unit. Automobile also reports that the next two-door will feature bespoke sheetmetal with a more canted windshield, lower roofline and sculpted flanks, while the convertible will continue to use a retractable hardtop instead of a canvas roof. New Hyundai i10 conversion range released Aimed at budget conscious world and religious leaders Given the current economic downturn and a trend towards more eco-friendly vehicles, Hyundai sees this as the perfect time to expand this ever growing product lineup into the rapidly growing political and faith leadership transportation sector. In order to grab a firm stranglehold on this ever important market, the company has created a new conversion package for the stylish and frugal i10. Built by the Hyundai's skilled craftsmen, the new range of specially converted i10's feature a unique rear compartment that has a raised roof which enables VIPs to be driven around in comfort regardless if they prefer to sit or stand. Considering that some world leaders could potentially be blamed for failing to rectify the economy, Hyundai decided to outfit the new model with a special lightweight composite dubbed Armor Protected Roof Integrated Lining. With power being provided by a new 1.2-liter Kappa engine, fast getaways aren't exactly an i10 forte so in addition to the aforementioned APRIL body armor, the i10 also comes equipped with fully organic Weave Bean armor which is constructed of the "string" part of string beans. Weighing virtually nothing, the new armor is both stronger and lighter than traditional Kevlar. According to a confidential source at the company, the first i10 conversion will go to a German customer who currently resides in Italy. Although he failed to specifically name the client, he did inform us that the specific model being prepared for this lucky VIP will feature unique tapestry woven by monks from the Indian city of Utta Bullacs. As with all Hyundai's, the new i10 conversion comes with an extensive five year warranty that is fully transferable to new owners after general elections and military coups. Kia Aero Soul Kia Unveils Dramatic Wind-Assisted Aero-Soul How cool is this? Photos and details of the long-rumored Kia Aero-Soul concept have finally been revealed. The Korean automaker unveiled the wind-assisted version of the Soul, with sales to begin next month. The vehicle uses a low-cost system that can mount to any products in Kia's line-up. Available with new cars and retroactively, the Air Propulsion and Retardation Installation Line uses sensors to detect wind speed as the Soul is driving down the highway. Once wind speed is at a strong enough rate, panels built into the bumpers are deployed to harness the wind power to assist in speeding up the car. This system does not just work when the car is running at speed. When braking or decelerating the panels also pop out like drag chutes to help slow the car down. Also part of the system is a reverse thruster that drops down from behind the exhaust pipe to reduce the strain on the brakes. From her Mabuk, Korea, office, Kia green-technology engineer Avril Babo said, "The big problem with most emission reduction systems is that they are expensive. We wanted to come up with an answer that didn't cost the earth and could be retrospectively applied to cars already on the road." Testing in Nong Dam shows that fuel efficiency can be increased by 25%, with emissions reduced by as much as 40%. When using the system while on a severe downhill slope, fuel use and CO2 emissions drops to almost nothing. The system is even beneficial if you live in a calmer environment. Just using the system to help braking can reduce fuel use by 10%, decrease emissions by 15%, and extend brake-pad life by nearly 50%. The Kia Aero-Soul concept, with the Air Propulsion and Retardation Installation Line, or A.P.R.I.L., will be available shortly. Pricing will be revealed closer to the release date. -

Vw Passat TSI EcoFuel Sedan Concept unveiled at Bologna Vw Passat EcoFuel ConceptA sedan version of its earlier Passat TSI EcoFuel wagon concept was recently introduced by Volkswagen, featuring the vehicle at the Bologna Motor Show this week. The vehicle can utilize either gasoline or natural gas for fuel, the EcoFuel vehicles are propelled by a 1.4 liter TSI engine that generates about 150 hp (112 kW). The engine comes with both a supercharger and a turbocharger operating in sequence to offer relatively high energy yields from its small facility. To permit the engine to manage the extra loading encountered due to the burning of natural gas instead of gasoline, considerable alterations have been done. The valves, piston rings and the pistons themselves are all upgraded to cope, at the same time the turbocharger has also been substituted with a smaller unit. A new management computer controls the switch between typical fuel and natural gas. More details and photos after the jump! A trio of tanks with a total capacity of 22 kilograms located under the trunk stores the natural gas. This is supported by a 31 liter tank of gasoline. The Passat TSI EcoFuel is given a theoretical range of around 500 miles (800km) between these two fuel tanks. It has a ceiling speed of 130mph and an accelaration rate of 0 to 62mph in 9.8 seconds, making it practical for daily use. In typical situations the car utilizes 4.5kg of natural gas per 100km. Outfitted with a DSG dual-clutch gearbox, the Passat EcoFuel will discharge lower than 120g of CO2/km, roughly equivalent to a much smaller compact hatchback. Say for example, stock allows us to be able to activate our alarm system when we are 10m away ... Let's say if we do some mod to the system, we're able to activate our alarm when we are 20m away ... Been doing some thinking. I have this hunch your FC is indeed tied to your choice of spark plugs. Specifically the heat range. If you are the urban type driver, more jams, more congestion, more stop-start than usual. Hotter plugs should be used. 16 range (Japanese) or 5 range (Euro) should be used. If you are more of the highway cruiser, then colder plugs are better. 20 range (Japanese) or 6 range (Euro). Anyone out there got some arguments to destroy this hypothesis?

I intend to upgrade the whole house with LED lights, partly to save electricity and to 'upgrade' the house lightings. Anyone knows where and which company sells LED lightings in Singapore, best if can view a wide selection of LED range at one shop/location. Internet has lots of interesting LED bulbs for home use, but seems like Singapore not easy to find supplier. Looking for screw in light bulbs and long tube type(to replace florescent tubes) Also waterproof outdoor mood lights as well. Anyone knows of any good shops/company...can PM me the address? Thanks.

Hi, I wish to find out if u have any recommendations for the above spec but must be within $100 range. This is my criteria 1. Braking / aquaplaning in rainy time 2. Wear Rate 3. Noise level. Can advice? As of now, I am using the Hankook RS-02 but coming to 35k km and even my wife commented that th grip is lesser. Am contemplating Hankook V88, Eagle F1, Wide Oval, Kumho Estsca, Michelin PP2. Yokohama C Drive, S drive. Not too sure if Continental have 15" series though anyone else got any other recommendations based on the above
