  1. http://remorseregretrewind.blogspot.com/ A fellow swift driver met an accident after his car broke down at lane 1 expressway. A taxi created the accident but will get away with a fine & suspension maximum. You may look at this blog at the injustice we may face in Singapore. ***WARNING*** Blog contains gross picture.

  6. Good day to all, I am driving a 5 yr old Swift. 1.5Auto. The car is in stock condition, mileage about 90k plus. Recently, the ABS lamp lighted up on the dashboard. I stopped at the side of the road, off the engine and restart again. After I moved off for a while, the lamp goes off. I called Champion Motors and they asked me if I changed my battery recently. Yes it was changed about 4 months ago. They said it might be a computer problem and since there is no more warranty, it is $70+ for troubleshooting. I read online, and many others who have the ABS lighted seems to be having problems with the sensors and not the brake system itself. Sometimes, I can drive a whole trip without it lighted up until when I am about to off the engine after parking the car. It might be some wiring loose which triggered the lamp after going down from shopping centre carpark. I do not mind going to CM to troubleshoot, but they can only troubleshoot at the Pandan service centre. I told them it is difficult for me to explain the situation because I cannot confirm on the day I send the car in, the lamp will be lighted! Is there any other workshop (prefer in the East) that is able to read the error code from the ECU or diagnose the fault? Please feel free to PM me. My normal braking system still works, but I just want the ABS thing to be solved so I can have a peace of mind when driving the car. Thanks.

  9. Suzuki has unveiled the first official photos of its upcoming, next-generation Swift model. The new Swift features a more lightweight and stiffened frame compared to it predecessor and comes with a widened track and larger wheels for improved performance and handling. Compared to the previous generation, the car is longer by 9cm with a 5cm increase in wheelbase. The revised hatch will be available with a 1.2 liter gasoline engine with variable intake and exhaust valve timing or Dual VVTi. It produces 94 PS at 6,000 revs and 118Nm of torque at 4,800 revs. Fuel consumption on the unit is 5 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions are 116 g/km. A new Euro 5-compliant 1.3 liter diesel will also be made available in 2011 with a CO2 bona fide of 109 g/km and a consumption rating of 4.2 liters/ 100 km. On the front, we have a reworked front fascia with a new grille, headlights and front bumper. The rear sports new taillights, bumper and boot lid. Interior information is limited at this moment.

  12. I am driving a suzuki swift 1.5 aka ZC21... I used to have installed a illegal aftermarket exhaust and suddenly my engine light had turn on.. I went to a WS and they said something is wrong and told me to change back to my stock exhaust.. I am also using a HKS open pod filter.. the mushroom type.. Question regarding HKS: 1) Will my engine light turn on after I installed this exhaust? 2) Will I lose power to my pick up? as i heard aftermarkey exhaust are heavier.. 3) Will fuel consumption be affected? Thanks to those who reply back.. gladly appreciate it!

  16. Hi all, Just to let fellow Swift drivers that CM is coming up soon with a updated 1.5 Swift. Car will now come with: (a) Smart key entry system - similar to that of a PI Swift, I think (b) DVD HU touchscreen system that can be used with the steering audio control system - very cool looking Saw it with my own eyes; it's a SJE plate 1.5 Swift owned by CM; according the SE, CM is in the process of testing it before releasing... I suppose one can get CM to upgrade the HU, but the smart key upgrading wont be possible...

  22. History of the Swift by Rory Daley In 1985 the Suzuki Swift was born, sort of. In its model run from 85-89 it was called the Forza and the GTI model came with the 1300cc Twin cam engine. North America received the car know as the Chevy Sprint with Suzuki's kei car engine, a 3-cylinder turbo charged unit. In 1988 Suzuki unleashed the Swift GTi on the world. Unfortunately, they sold the body style to GM's Geo division creating it's physical counterpart the Geo Metro. In the United States the Geo Metro came with the two base Swift engines; 3-cyl/no turbo, 1liter 4-cyl, but Suzuki had good enough sense to keep the 1.3 liter SOHC/DOHC units exclusive to the Swift line up. The Canadians got the Kei car motor and the name Firefly. In this world where image is everything sharing its appearance with an 'economy car' didn't exactly boost the sales of the Swift even though it was one of the better cars of the hot-hatch genre. Its main American rivals the Honda Civic, and Toyota FX-16 had no such stigma attached to them and sold in much larger quanties. To Suzuki this didn't really matter as they were selling as many rebadged Swifts as they could make to GM. Overseas the Swift was judged on its own merits as there was no Metro to cast a shadow, and when compared to the main competion it held its own: GTI-100hp from 1300cc, Civic Si-108hp from 1600cc, FX16-115 from 1600cc, Golf-115 frm 2000cc. It also came with four wheel disc brakes, something unheard of for a small 'hot-hatch' in its time. 1992 brought a small, but welcome visual change on the car. This along with an expansion in the colors in which is was offered added to an already vicious little car. But '92 also brought a fall in the hot-hatch genre in the United States, and most manufacturers either dropped their 'hot-hatches' or moved upscale. The FX16, Omni to name a few disappeared from the American landscape, while Honda and Volkwagen moved up the automotive ladder. The days of the Swift became numbered and in 1994 this performance bargain disappeared from American shores. This is where it gets interesting. The Cultus as it is known in Japan is doing quite well, as matter of fact that old droptop Geo Metro can be purchased with the DOHC 16v engine. In 1995 the Suzuki Baleno was introduced not as a replacement, as it was supposed to be, but a model to be sold side by side. Nissan did this with their 200SX. Other home market variations exist such as the all wheel drive model.
  23. hey this is a boliao thread... dont mind... To the 'hot chick' who i see washing your red Suzuki Swift so often in the MSCP washing bay... sometimes with ur bf i tink... today i saw you with another girl... i just wanna tell you this... i've never in my life seen a lady owner so passionate about the cleaniness of her car (washing sooo often... like me)... i've never before seen anyone wash his/her car after reaching home while still in office wear (i thought i was the only one)... i dont know if we share the same feelings we have towards our car... i cant stand it when friends put their hand prints all over the car... etc to all clean car owners...
