  1. Despite it being a newly launched vehicle, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's Jeep Wrangler did not do well in the latest round of Euro NCAP test. According to the press release from the association, the all new Wrangler, which is fresh to the market only scored one star against a possible five. This is a result of having only a seatbelt reminder and a simple driver-set speed limiter and no other form of driver-assistance system, forcing the judges to give the four by four vehicle one star only. “It is truly disappointing to see a brand new car being put on sale in 2018 with no autonomous braking system and no lane assistance”, said Euro NCAP Secretary General, Michiel van Ratingen. “It is high time we saw a product from the Fiat-Chrysler Group offering safety to rival its competitors.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFFXmzG0GDc Moving on, FCA receives more bad news as its Fiat Panda scored zero stars in the same round of test. Last tested in 2011, the latest variant of the car got no stars because it only had a seatbelt reminder to help the car score points in the Euro NCAP’s Safety Assist box. Unfortunately, this "dubious distinction matched only by the Punto in 2017". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYfiIU1mlig&t=17s

  3. The Jeep Wrangler can do a lot of things. It can traverse most any terrain, take you to work, the kids to school, get you and your friends to the surf on time, and so on. Turns out it can also feed the hungry – or at least this one can. And by can, we mean actual cans of food. To celebrate Canada Day (which was Wednesday), Jeep recreated a Wrangler out of more than 4,500 cans of food. The project was undertaken together with Canstruction Inc, a charity that works to fight hunger and poverty, serve the community, and promote science, technology, engineering, and math. The full-scale replica took a team of teenagers a good 12 hours to build. It's being displayed at Vancouver's waterfront Canada Place during the festivities, after which it will be dismantled to provide 3,120 meals for the hungry through the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. This is the second such project we've seen FCA Canada undertake together with Canstruction. Last time it was a Dodge Grand Caravan created to celebrate the minivan's 30th anniversary. It was built out of 30,000 cans and displayed in downtown Toronto before being distributed as 2,000 food baskets through the Daily Bread Food Bank. Next time maybe we'll see a Viper or Challenger made out of cans on display in Montreal during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend and donated to the Old Brewery Mission, which this writer knows first-hand does good work to feed Montrealers in need.
  4. Not too long ago, we had the chance to sample the Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited in its natural habitat. We jumped at it, considering we never had the chance to witness the car's capabilities off-road. To do that, Jeep organised a trip for us to venture into the wilderness of Johor. On the way there, we also tested the Wrangler’s high speed stability via some of the highways. Considering it was built to excel off the tarmac, its on road manners was pretty good and it was more comfortable with four up than what we expected it to be. Its 285bhp, 3.6-litre V6 powerplant made short work of the highways too. We wished the Wrangler's steering could be adjusted for reach though. Otherwise, the cabin is user-friendly and it felt like it could last a lifetime. Once off-road, everything fell into place. Its ride, which was slightly soft on road, soaked up all the bumps and ruts easily. Ample suspension travel allowed its wheels to articulate well also. Having some fun with mud... Switching to low range 4WD mode, the Wrangler made mince meat out of the muddy climb. Like little boys, we aimed well at the mud puddles and charged through. Another hill that proved too easy for the Wrangler. All in all, we had a blast driving the Wrangler. If you want something funky looking, capable, fun-loving and be an occasional cabriolet (its doors and roof are detachable), this may just be for you.
  5. Jeep is offering a new JK-8 Independence Package for its iconic Wrangler off-roader for owners in the US. How it works is that the package comes as an aftermarket kit, which owners can choose to assemble themselves in the comfort of their own garages. That sounds cool, and oh so appropriate for the Wrangler's image. After all, everything about the car shouts "I am man, tough and strong!" So, why not self-assemble this nifty kit which converts your standard, regular four-door Wrangler, into a tough, two-door, menacing pick-up. Of course, if you're just the lazy type, or not mechanically-inclined, or simply poor with tools and assembling things, you can request the dealer to help you put the thing together for your Wrangler. But where's the fun and machoness in that?
  6. Anyone owns a Jeep wrangler ? or what do you guys feel about this car??

  9. Hi everyone, I just detailed this big and mean looking ride yesterday. Luckily for me, its pretty new and only has some minor swirls and washlines. However, upon washing, i realised how rough the paintwork was due to the shipyard's fine oversprays which resulted in plenty of fine paint spots all over the car. Most of the spots were removed by the normal grade claybar, but the remaining 20% had to be removed using an abrasive clay which resulted in hazing of the paintwork. Enough of talking, here comes the pics..... Wrangler getting a foam bath: Some Minor Defects taken care of by combo of Intensive Polish and PO106FF: SWIRLS BEFORE: SWIRLS AFTER: Washlines Before: Washlines after: Check out the bling bling rims, shined with Paintwork cleansing lotion
