  1. Audi’s e-tron Vision GT is an 815bhp electric racecar https://www.topgear.com/car-news/concept/audis-e-tron-vision-gt-815bhp-electric-racecar Good news, Audi fans! It’s taken five years - and 27 cars – but the folks from Ingolstadt have finally joined the Vision GT concept car party with this, the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo. And what a way to introduce yourself. This muscular, fully electric, high-downforce racing coupe doesn’t just live in a world of pixels, but also reality. Yep, where this mushy concoction would normally be left to run solely around the pixelated fantasy land of Gran Turismo, Audi has only gone and made the thing. It’s been built as a one-off running prototype set to make appearances at upcoming rounds of Formula E as an 815bhp trouser-browning taxi to show people that there’s fun to be had in electric. Yee-haw. Put simply, the e-tron Vision GT is what happens when you put one of Audi’s ultra-iconic 90 IMSA GTOs from 1989 and its latest Formula E electric tech into a blender. Powering the futuristic racer are three 220kW electric motors good for a combined output of 815bhp. Which, given it weighs 1,450kg, equates to a punchy power-to-weight ratio of 562bhp per tonne and 0-62 sprint of 2.5secs thanks to a specially developed Quattro four-wheel drive system. Like its ‘GTO’ forefather, this four-wheel-drive system is pretty slick to provide silly levels of performance. Drive is variable and shuffled between the front and rear axles as well as individually between the rear wheels, meaning crazy traction out of corners. The Audi e-tron joins a long, long list of concept cars created virtually for racing in the Gran Turismo sim series. The project started five years ago as a nice way to bulk out the game’s car roster, but has ended up being a very good way for carmakers to loosen their ties and show off cars that might be too lengthy or complex to craft for real.

  3. These Are Audi's Model Plans For 2019Here's what you have to look forward to from Audi this year. https://carbuzz.com/news/these-are-audi-s-model-plans-for-2019 Audi has broken its reveals down into four quarters, which include 18 reveals over the next 12 months. The first quarter contains several facelifted models like the R8, TT, and SQ2 (that last one won't be offered in the US). First quarter reveals will also include the important arrival of Audi's all-electric e-tron SUV. Quarter two is a bit more interesting with the A6 Allroad, which will be based on the A6 Avant. Unlike the other reveals in Q2 - the TT RS and RS5 Sportback - we aren't sure if the A6 Allroad will be sold in the US market. The second half of the year is much more jammed packed with 11 of the 18 reveals. The third quarter begins with the reveal of the facelifted Q7 SUV and plug-in hybrid e-tron versions of the Q5 and A7. In the second half of the third quarter, Audi will show off a facelifted A4, the all-new Q3-based Q4, and the highly-anticipated RS7 Sportback. The RS7 is expected to arrive with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with over 600 horsepower. The last quarter includes some of the most interesting reveals, including a plug-in e-tron version of the A8. There will also be a Sportback of the electric e-tron and an all-new A3. An updated RS Q3 will also arrive, though we doubt it will be offered in the US. Finally, the product map shows the all-new RS6 Avant, which our sources say will be sold in the US for the first time ever in 2020. We wish this product map was specifically for the US but it may still give us some insights into what we will see from Audi this year.
  4. Spy shots of Audi A6 E-tron For now is all wrapped up, but the flush-to-pillars side glass of the concept looks like will not make it to production. Some details are different too like the headlights. Got to wait till more is revealed.
  5. Nice but I was expecting the rear window and hatch to be like A6 Avant, which is really a nice looker. But anyhow, this Avant e-tron is still good looking. Plus those flush side glass are cool to look at.
  6. Audi has released the A3 e-tron in the Avant body style at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. An 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery sits under the floor beneath the rear seat, complete with a liquid cooling system. The plug-in hybrid is driven by a parallel hybrid drivetrain consisting of a turbocharged 150bhp 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine and a small electric motor integrated into the car's six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The electric motor generates 102bhp. The A3 e-tron goes to 100km/h in 7.6 seconds and is able to achieve a top speed of 222km/h. In a plug-in hybrid, the focus is on fuel efficiency. According to Audi, the vehicle uses petrol at a miserly 1.5L/100km and produces CO2 at a mere 35g/km. The A3 e-tron can be driven in hybrid, electric or gasoline mode. When driven in EV mode, the car provides a range of up to 49km. The fwd model is not scheduled for production yet.
  7. Agree! Taycan, e-tron GT etc are yummy!
  8. Yes for EVs made by non-car companies lol.....for actual car companies, look at taycan, e-tron GT, etc....
  9. This is especially so with Big European AD. Audi E-tron has a margin of 128k BMW ix5 has a margin of 70k
  10. Yeah but as it says e-tron may be EV but I may be wrong
  11. Maybe it is an illusion that Kia and Hyundai are one cat up, because of the agent in Singapore need to earn the profit right. For Tesla is doing direct sales. Example Audi E-Tron Advance OMV is 67K, add in all cost like COE and GST, the basic cost are $229,690 but the selling price is $357,960. Where else for Tesla standard, OMV is $59,717, after everything the basic cost is $194,189 and selling price also $194,189
  12. Ooosh

    Audi A1 E-Tron

The Audi A1 E-Tron uses a smart combination of electric motors and rotary engine to power the car. Although rotary engines are famous for the bad fuel consumption and reliability, it could be put to good use to power the electric motor and to provide extra juice when needed. This is a good way to revive the wankel dream, although it is no longer in production, it's technology could be put to good use in other ways! Very innovative.... Emissions wise, hybrids/Small cc with FI cars are the way to go in the near future... http://www.caranddriver.com/features/how-a...y-alive-feature
  13. Currently a lot of chassis is shared btw EV and ICE. Rare exception are like Taycan/e-tron GT, Ioniq 5/Kia EV6. A lot of these shared chassis has NO Frunk.
  14. I ban PMD in my office, as I do see the risk it posed. When challenged by my AMDK director, I just pointed to strings of news report on PMD fire and asked if he is willing to bear the consequences if anything happens? Actually the more scarier scene is at those logistics hub, where workers left their PMD within the warehouse premises, once a fire started, it might just spread like wild fire... I'm sure insurer like FM Global and Allianz are already working on guidelines to deal with fire risk posed by PMD, and new rules are on the horizon. I'm seeing hybrid and EVs as a stop gap measures, since production cost has come down significantly in the past few years. Hygrogen fuel cell is not dead apparantly, according to this report. Audi Hasn’t Given Up On Fuel Cell Vehicles, New Prototype Coming Later This Year Audi has embraced electric vehicles and is gearing up to launch the e-tron crossover in the United States. It will soon be followed by the e-tron Sportback and e-tron GT. Despite the focus on electrification, the company hasn’t given up on hydrogen fuel cell technology. It’s been a few years since Audi has showcased a fuel cell concept, but Autocar reports a new prototype – with a sixth-generation fuel cell – will be introduced later this year. According to the publication, the renewed focus on hydrogen comes as a result of growing concerns about the supply of raw materials needed to produce battery packs. Issues are already popping up and they’ll likely become more severe as electric vehicles begin to flood the market. To combat this and other issues, Audi is set to become Volkswagen’s lead group on hydrogen fuel cell technology. As Audi chairman Bram Schot explained, “We are going to put more priority into hydrogen fuel cells – more money, more capacity of people and more confidence.” As part of this effort, Audi could put a fuel cell vehicle into limited production. Little is known about it, but the model could be produced in Neckarsulm, Germany and be offered to consumers through a special leasing program. The model could arrive by 2021 and use fuel cell technology sourced from Hyundai thanks to an agreement that was inked last summer. Later on, we can expect additional fuel cell vehicles. There’s no word on specifics, but Schot suggested volume production could begin during the second half of the next decade. That’s pretty far into the future, but hopefully hydrogen refueling stations will be more common by then.
  15. Tesla makes some of the least reliable cars, Consumer Reports says. See which brands came out on top. https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-reliability-model-s-3-x-y-consumer-reports-satisfaction-2021-11 Nov 20, 2021. Consumer Reports published its annual reliability study on Thursday. Tesla and Lincoln came in last, while Lexus, Mazda, and Toyota were named the most reliable brands. The most reliable 2022 models were the Lexus GX, Kia Niro Electric, and Toyota Prius Prime. The world's most valuable car company makes some of the least reliable vehicles on the road, according to Consumer Reports' annual reliability study. Electric-vehicle maker Tesla, which is now worth more than $1 trillion, ranked 27th out of the 28 brands Consumer Reports considered this year. Lincoln was the sole brand that got a lower reliability score from the nonprofit organization. Consumer Reports uses surveys to find out the types of issues vehicle owners have experienced in the last 12 months. It uses that data to predict how reliable carmakers' 2022 models will be and gives each vehicle a score. Tesla's Model S, Model Y, and Model X all got below-average reliability scores, dragging down the brand's overall standing. Consumer Reports still recommends the 2022 Model 3 sedan, which has average reliability. At the top of the heap are Lexus, Mazda, Toyota, Infiniti, Buick, Honda, and Subaru. The bottom five, excluding Tesla and Lincoln, are Volkswagen, Genesis, and Jeep. The most reliable models for 2022 are as follows: the Lexus GX, Kia Niro EV, Toyota Prius Prime, Toyota Prius, and Cadillac XT5. Electric vehicles were all over the map in Consumer Reports' study. The Kia Niro EV, Nissan Leaf, and Ford Mustang Mach-E all scored above average. Compact hybrids were the most reliable group. Fully electric SUVs were the worst-performing category, scoring below average on the whole. The Tesla Model X and Audi E-Tron ranked at the bottom of that segment. Problems typically didn't involve the motors or battery, but rather components like finicky in-car electronics. Tesla's quality issues have been well-documented over the years as the company has raced — perhaps too quickly at times — to accelerate production and deliver more vehicles. It's typical for models, even well-optioned ones, to come with ill-fitting trim or body work, the kinds of imperfections that German luxury brands like Audi and BMW have spend decades ironing out. But the mistakes don't seem to deter buyers, or make them love their Teslas any less. Tesla ranks No.1 in Consumer Reports' study of owner satisfaction.

  17. Saw a few on the road, really dislike the design. The new Audi e-tron GT anytime nicer...
  18. Do you see any resemblance here? 😁 Audi RS e-tron GT
  19. Taycan for me. But E-tron GT is the same iteration if Porsche Taycan. But neither I can afford. 😂

  21. For a movie that looks futuristic and screams for 3D, TRON has the least 3D of any 3D movie I have watched. Only the action scenes near the beginning and towards the end have 3D. The rest looks like 2D. They even have a disclaimer at the beginning telling you not all portions have 3D effects. Plot wise, the movie is so-so nia, they tried to make the movie profound with some themes such as the createe turning on his creator but it doesn't work. Instead of making me think, I just feel numb. What saves the movie are the dazzling visuals. It is 2 hours of eye candy. If you wanna watch this show, forgo the 3D and just find a big theatre with a large screen.
  22. AUDI / E-TRON ADVANCED 50 QUATTRO (SR, 20")
  23. Always a sucker for coupe/sportback SUVs. Saw this on the road recently - e-tron sportback? Got a nice side profile but the rear lights do not sit well with me.
  24. Swee leh, looks like something more affordable for the masses. No diesel scandal, no 7-speed DSG fiasco, no touchscreens everything galore, I kind of like it. But what's the fuss with VW group's products obsessed with projecting an image on the ground for passengers? Audi A6 E-Tron concept is showing the same thing.
