  1. I was told just a bit ago about an event this Saturday 0930 ~ 1100 at the Kallang Leisure Park. Car meet, supposed to be charity oriented, giving underprivileged an opportunity an unforgettable ride. Organized by a group called HopeDriveSG - students from ITE West with Singapore Exotic Cars (SECS). Thought I'd share.

  3. Anyone notice why agent stop bringing in Honda Accord 2.4, Nissan Teana 2.5 this year? It's not on their lists. Even MI Subaru Legacy 2.5 stocks is out! Does it mean that only Camry 2.5 is sellable for higher cc Japanese mid size sedan?

  7. The details of the May 2017 first open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows: Tender opens: Monday, 8 May 2017, 12 noon Tender closes: Wednesday, 11 May 2017, 4.00 pm Tender results: Wednesday, 11 May 2017 (Available on the www.onemotoring.com.sg website) The total quota available for this tender is 5,293 for the following vehicle categories: NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category A: Cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) => 1,905 Category B: Cars (above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) => 1,320 Category D: Motorcycles => 455 TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category C: Goods Vehicles and Buses => 1,084 Category E: Open Category => 529 As compared to the last bidding exercise, Cat A => -147 (-7.16%) Cat B => -49 (-3.58%) Cat C => +921 (+565%) Cat D => +108 (+31.12%) Cat E => +47 (+9.75%) Overall, there 149 (3.82%) lesser COE available for passenger car (across cat A, B & E) this round vs. the 2nd round in April, which is almost negligible as compared to the >500% increase in COE quota for bus & commercial category. As seen in the past, there shall be a small group of buyers that might jump ship to cat C, and dealers shall see an increase in demand for small vans, and the return of Kei class mini van from Japan, such as Honda Acty, Daihatsu Hijet, Mitsubishi Minicab & Suzuki Every, or even new model such as Mazda Scrum, Subaru Sambar & Toyota Pixis.
  8. For once, I am guessing that we shall see a sharp drop in COE premium for Cat C. The details of the April 2017 second open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows: Tender opens: Monday, 24 April 2017, 12 noon Tender closes: Wednesday, 26 April 2017, 4.00 pm Tender results: Wednesday, 26 April 2017 (Available on the www.onemotoring.com.sg website) The total quota available for this tender is 4,413 for the following vehicle categories: NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category A: Cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) => 2,052 Category B: Cars (above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) => 1,369 Category D: Motorcycles => 347 TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category C: Goods Vehicles and Buses => 163 Category E: Open Category => 482
  9. Hot on the heels of new Verna (Accent), here is the brand new Kia Rio to be officially unveiled at Paris Motor Show next month. Think it looks more grown up than current Rio hatchback (which was on sale for a short period of time locally). Curious to see how the 4-door saloon model will turn out to look like. Hope to see C&C bring in both 4 and 5-door model when it eventually arrives here. Source: https://www.netcarshow.com/kia/2017-rio/

  13. First of all, please do allow me to post a few comments before I proceed to the topic. 1. I fully support the call (by Radx?) to disqualify such COE bidding thread for top thread of the month contest. I ever thought of self-declaring it previously, but as I am also one of the winner last year, it may attract some nasty remarks (you know what I mean), if I were to propose the change. To be honest, I am not proud at all to get the $100 vouchers for such posting, which information can be easily obtained from LTA website. 2. The reason why I started these thread is merely as a community service, as there will always be people interested to know about the past bidding results, no. of COE available for each category, as well as to have a platform for all related discussions (hopefully all are healthy one, with no major argument / catfight, name calling, challenging of others, promotion of gambling, etc.). I am neither vested, nor have too much time to waste. 3. And in relation to point #2, I will not be able to ensure I can start the thread for every bidding exercise, as I am also a full time employee with a family to support, so don’t assume I have any personal agenda for starting, or NOT starting such thread. In fact, I welcome others to take the lead, as long as the data are from official source, and with no intention for prize or fame or other personal agenda. 4. Last but not least, a friendly reminder that MCF is a free-for-all public forum, thus there will always be different views / thoughts / opinions along the way (as forumers are likely to be from all walks of life). Praise the post that you like, ignore those that you don’t agree with. I personally do not encourage hitting the “Dislike” button as you will never know if you are stepping on the tail of some mentally unsound… … just joking! OK, I am done. Now back to the topic. For the data lover, let me present you with my 10 years series (or 12 years to be more precise), for your reference and/or further analysis. And good luck to those waiting for your COE! [flowerface] The details of the April 2017 first open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows: Tender opens: Monday, 10 April 2017, 12 noon Tender closes: Wednesday, 12 April 2017, 4.00 pm Tender results: Wednesday, 12 April 2017 (Available on the www.onemotoring.com.sg website)

  17. Now that COE threads are not eligible for the top thread, no one wants to begin the next one The second bid in March is on 29 Mar 2017. Some useful links: Where to check for COE results: https://www.mytransport.sg/oneMotoring/coeDetails.html Past results for 2017 https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/ltaweb/corp/PublicationsResearch/files/FactsandFigures/COE_Result_2015_2017.pdf How to bid https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/bid_coe.html COE trends: http://coe.sgcharts.com/ What's my prediction? Both Cat and B will hover around 50k, plus minus 5k Why? Well there's a lot of demand, and this pent up demand, due to the decreasing quota, the impeding tax change, and many new facelifts this year will ensure the COE stays at the current levels. So let the discussions begin

  20. There I say all high Pb coming I also recommend ALL coe related threads like this be DISQUALIFIED from thread of the month! Ridiculous to be giving vouchers for the same damn thing 9 months in succession
  21. First bid post CNY. Huat ah!! How to bid: https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltaweb/en/roads-and-motoring/owning-a-vehicle/vehicle-quota-system/certificate-of-entitlement-coe.html How do you check the ongoing bids: https://www.mytransport.sg/oneMotoring/coeDetails.html Previous results: https://www.lta.gov.sg/apps/news/page.aspx?c=2&id=16c2b5ae-a62a-4c38-b9e2-fc577fdc5fe6 Last bid results: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) received 5,732 bids at the end of the January second open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs). Of these, 3,877 were successful. Detailed results of the tender are as follows: Quota Quota Premium Total Bids Received Number of Successful Bids Unused Quota carried forward NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES Category A (Cars up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) 1,846 $50,889 2,437 1,766 80 Category B (Cars above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) 1,246 $52,807 1,967 1,226 20 Category D (Motorcycles) 377 $6,052 412 331 46 TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES Category C (Goods vehicles and buses) 186 $47,001 254 173 13 Category E (Open) 400 $52,600 662 381 19 There are still unfulfilled COE orders for quite a few cars, in both Cat & B. With cars ranging from more budget ones like the 99k Corolla offers to Cat B C Class bids, so there should still be some demand. This can be balanced against the fact that the quota was recently increased and that the economy isn't doing too well. Furthermore, 20th Feb will see more info on how the diesel cars will be taxed. So some will either rush in now and enjoy the current discounts, or wait and see until more news is out.. It's still an exciting time and my personal prediction that the COE levels will remain largely the same. Uber and private hire cars are still looking for COEs and will prevent the COE from going down too low. There is a minimum level, which draws out the opportunistic bidder, these are people with spare cash, or the marginal buyer who then takes the opportunity to grab a car on the cheap. Remember the date for the next bid: 08 Feb 2017 Huat ah!!!
  22. Looks interesting and comes lots of bells and whistlers ...If priced competitively to attriage, it maybe a second option to people looking for BB car. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11799
  23. The details of the February 2017 second open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows: Tender opens: Wednesday, 22 February 2017, 12 noon Tender closes: Friday, 24 February 2017, 4.00 pm Tender results: Friday, 24 February 2017 (Available on the www.onemotoring.com.sg website) The second February bidding exercise is postponed in view of an upcoming announcement. More details will be shared in due time. The total quota available for this tender is 4,576 for the following vehicle categories: NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category A : Cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) 2,133 Category B : Cars (above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) 1,377 Category D : Motorcycles 392 TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES: Category C : Goods Vehicles and Buses 174 Category E : Open Category 500 Note that there will be an upcoming announcement affecting this bidding. Most likely, I guess it will be announced during the budget on Monday. How do you guys think?
