And having her on your side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1BCujX3pw8 Captain Marvel launches on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019.
  3. What will be Singapore's most in-demand jobs for 2019. Good time to take stock on where the sunset industry is and which job to switch to. Just that there is no plotted map for someone to refer to in order to get there other then the security pathway. https://www.straitstimes.com/business/economy/what-will-be-singapores-most-in-demand-jobs-for-2019 SINGAPORE - Singapore hiring is likely to see stable growth in 2019, with top jobs in demand to be analytical and data-driven in nature, according to the latest annual salary survey by recruitment firm Robert Walters. These include data scientists, product management, user experience (UX) designers, and digital roles, with cyber security to remain a major focus, in the wake of recent high-profile cyber attacks in Singapore. The report also found that job movers in Singapore can expect pay increments of 5 per cent to 15 per cent in 2019, and larger hikes can be expected for candidates with specialised skill sets in IT, digital and financial services. Among employers, human resource (HR) professionals with strong experience in HR technologies, as well as talent acquisition professionals for the technology sector will be sought after. Hiring levels for jobs in financial services will also remain positive, with a continued focus on technical and commercial skill sets. Demand will be high for skilled contracting professionals, trade finance professionals in corporate banking, investment and research analysts, and IT professionals in the financial services sector, said Robert Walters. In addition, sales and marketing professionals with big data, digital, e-commerce and transformation experience will be in increasing demand as companies continue their digitalisation efforts. With a limited talent pool, competition will intensify for specialists such as Singaporeans qualified with international and cross-border experience and knowledge in areas such as product management, technology law and blockchain, as well as supply chain and procurement professionals with niche skill sets. According to Robert Walters, the accounting and finance sector will see a demand for professionals with tax compliance and change management expertise, with skill sets in demand including a strong technical understanding and familiarity of regulatory rules, stakeholder engagement and management skills. In the engineering sector, more jobs are expected to emerge as oil and gas prices recover, said Robert Walters. Strong demand is anticipated for professionals in the semiconductor, medical devices, consumer electronics and manufacturing industries, especially in the research and development departments. "The best candidates look for roles they can grow into. Employers who can demonstrate that they have the right teams and systems in place to support a candidate's success in a role are better positioned to secure top talent," said Mr Rob Bryson, Robert Walters managing director for Singapore.
  4. New Renault Clio 2019 unveiled with stunning new interior ahead of official launchhttps://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1079285/New-Renault-Clio-2019-launch-interior-car RENAULT has unveiled the interior of the all-new Clio - Here’s what’s changed in the radical new update.Renault has unveiled the all-new Clio hatchback which has received a number of updates an upgrades. Most notably among the changes is the awesome revamped interior which is a vast improvement compared to previous generations. Immediately the vehicle looks more high-end and premiums due to the new refined interior layout with obvious improvements in the technology, seating, and overall design. At the centre of the dashboard is the Smart Cockpit, the 9.3-inch multimedia screen (twice as large as the 7-inch version) is the biggest ever on a Renault model. It is a vertical screen and is more contemporary than some of the integrated units in its rivals. This central screen comprises the multimedia, navigation and infotainment features. Renault has also apparently used more premium soft-touch materials on the redesigned dashboard which has been reshaped to give the impression of more space and width in the Clio. The centre console is also higher and features a smaller gear lever all of which, in conjunction with the newly redesigned seats is for ergonomics. There is also a myriad of customisation options which allows the vehicle to be specified in a number of different colours to match the exterior. While the interior has been extensively updated the exterior has been left relatively unchanged. It is a minor evolutionary upgrade with tiny alterations to the grille and bumper. The body has been lowered by up to 30 mm for better aerodynamics and extra athleticism and the car can be specified with 17-inch wheels (depending on version). Other added details include the shark fin antenna, the 100 per cent LED lights, the flush tailgate, and the chrome-plated side-window surrounds. Two new exterior body colours are available now which are Valencia Orange and Celadon Blue, which join another eight body colours and three exterior customisation packs. Clio will make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

  8. 'Lucky' stall at Chinatown bazaar goes for $13,899 – highest in six years This is highest in 6 years; stallholders believe the stall is 'lucky' as it is a hotspot for visitors at the Chinatown market A stall at the Chinese New Year festive bazaar in Chinatown next year went for a whopping $13,899 in rental. This is the highest bid in six years. The bid was for the "lucky" stall in the Chinatown Chinese New Year festive street bazaar, which will be held from Jan 18 to Feb 4 next year. Stallholders said the location of the stall at the junction of Smith Street and Trengganu Street is a hotspot for visitors at the market, and thus can bring in the most money. There were three bidders for the "lucky" stall at the 2019 bazaar, and the lowest bid was $2,700. The minimum bid for a stall at the bazaar this year was $1,850. The lucky owner of the stall is Mr Ye Wei Qiang, who has been setting up his stall at the festive bazaar for close to 30 years. He was also the owner of the "lucky" stall this year, which he won with a $8,399 bid. Mr Ye, 55, told The New Paper yesterday: "This year, I decided to up my stakes by $5,500. But I did it without hesitation because I got wind that my competitor had recovered from his sickness and would be bidding this year." He said that he and his rival has been at odds for close to 10 years, and would fight over the "lucky" stall every year. He had lost out to his competitor in the 2017 bazaar. At the bazaar next year, Mr Ye said he will be selling mostly pomelos at his "lucky" stall. His pomelos can range from $6 for a regular pomelo to $12 for a large one. Mr Ye said he will be also renting the stall across the "lucky" stall for about $5,000. This brings the number of stalls he will have at the bazaar to five, managed by him and four other business partners, and bringing his total rental expenditure to at least 20,000. "I rent the space opposite the lucky stall as a backup plan. There were some years I couldn't get the lucky stall, but at least I had the one opposite. "It is very important to get the space near the lucky stall because there is a lot of traffic around that area," he said. Mr Ye will be selling Chinese sausages and other snacks at the opposite stall. Despite the high rent, Mr Ye is confident that he will be able to make a profit. "I make a profit every year, and I have a few other stalls around the bazaar as well. "It is expected that the profit will dip slightly due to the high rent, but we have regular customers, and business is so good at that location. We can sell baskets at one go," he said. Mr Ye added that he sees about $5,000 to $6,000 in profit every year. On regular days, Mr Ye is a durian seller at Katong. The Festive Street Bazaar 2019 is managed by the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019 Organising Committee, a sub-committee under the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee. There will be 313 stalls filling the streets, selling all sorts of food and decorations for the Chinese New Year celebrations. The market will be open from 6pm to 10.30pm from Jan 18 to Feb 3, and from 6pm to 1am on Feb 4, the eve of Chinese New Year. https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/stall-chinatown-bazaar-goes-13899-highest-six-years huat ah !

  13. The New Subaru Legacy has finally been revealed in Chigago Auto Show last night. Exterior seems more like a facelift but is actually new. Interior takes a huge step forward. Looks premium. And for US, they will get the 2.4 litre turbo. Wonder if the Japan domestic market will have this turbo engine other than the improved 2.5 litre engine when it is launched. Since the Legacy has been revealed and will only be on sale in the States in September this year, perhaps in a few months time, will get to see the Outback. 23. https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/mitsubishi-triton-2019-revealed-71824 Mitsubishi has ripped the covers from its facelifted Triton that is set to hit Australian showrooms in January 2019, with the updated pick-up ushering in a fresh front-end design, more active safety features and a new six-speed automatic transmission. The biggest change for the updated Triton is the new ‘Dynamic Shield’ front fascia that incorporates higher-set slimline headlights, a revised lower bumper, more sculpted bonnet and an updated grille with chrome flourishes. This design theme is found on most of Mitsubishi’s SUV models including the ASX, Eclipse Cross, Outlander and the related Pajero Sport. Mitsubishi says the front end “uses a horizontal/vertical motif and beefier chrome parts to give a sense of powerful rigidity in a design that echoes the ‘Engineered beyond Tough’ development concept.” Australian pricing and specification are still yet to be announced, but higher-spec variants gain bi-functional LED headlights, and the foglights have also been raised to protect the lighting elements from stone chips and high-water crossings, according to Mitsubishi. The rear bumper has been streamlined and is now integrated into the bodywork, and the bed sides and tail-lights have been restyled. There are fewer changes inside the new Triton, but it gains silver detailing and soft-touch materials. It also features a double-stitched finish on the front seat armrest, knee pads, console lid, brake lever and shifter. The door trims are now slightly thicker than the outgoing model. Second-row occupants now have access to a USB outlet and a roof-mounted air vent with four levels of airflow adjustment, while trays have been fitted around the centre console for smartphone or tablet stowage. Mitsubishi has increased the Thai-built Triton’s rigidity and added more sound-proofing and noise- and vibration-absorbing materials to improve cabin noise levels. The Japanese carmaker has increased available safety systems, which includes the addition of a camera- and radar-based front collision mitigation system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert and ‘Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation’ that helps prevent unintended motion. A surround-view 'Multi-Around Monitor' will be offered as an option, at least in some international markets, while front and rear parking sensors will be offered and a reversing camera will carry over. Mitsubishi’s on-the-fly 'Easy Select' 4WD system with four modes including rear-drive, four-wheel-drive, and high- and low-range 4WD will also carry over from the previous model. When switched to all-wheel drive mode, the Triton now features an 'Off-Road Mode' that allows specific terrain selection between Gravel, Mud/Snow, Sand and Rock settings for improved control. The Triton is now fitted with hill descent control which operates at speeds up to 20km/h in 4WD modes. The suspension system mostly carries over, namely a double wishbone front and leaf spring rear set-up, but Mitsubishi says it has tweaked it to improve comfort, largely due to to bigger rear dampers. On overseas models fitted with 18-inch wheels, the brakes have been upgraded and now use larger ventilated discs with two-piston calipers. Powered by the carryover 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, the new Triton produces its peak 133kW of power at 3500rpm and maximum 430Nm of torque from 2500rpm. A 2.4-litrepetrol engine is still available. While the facelifted Triton is offered with a carryover six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission, a new six-ratio self-shifter with a Sport mode will also be offered in the new version. The new Triton is offered in four new colours – 'White Diamond', 'Graphite Grey', 'Passion Orange' and red – while white, 'Silver Metallic', 'Black Mica', 'Blue Metallic' and 'Brown Metallic' carry over.
  24. 2019 Honda Insight http://www.motortrend.com/news/2019-honda-insight-goes-mainstream/ It’s official: Honda will bring back the Insight nameplate that it discontinued in 2014. This time around, Honda is positioning the Insight as an upscale, five-passenger sedan instead of a hatch. Honda has released images of the Insight Prototype ahead of its official debut at the Detroit auto show in January. The prototype takes plenty of design cues from the Civic, including its long hood and curvaceous body lines. The 2019 Honda Insight will adopt a two-motor hybrid system. The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid uses this type of setup, pairing two electric motors with a 2.0-liter DOHC Atkinson cycle engine. Exact powertrain details for the Insight are unknown, but it’s already sounding better than the pesky Integrated Motor Assist setup on the old Insight. We never liked the system, which is comprised of a 1.3-liter I-4 with an electric motor producing a combined total of 98 hp. The powertrain would switch on and off too abruptly at stoplights, as we noted in a 2009 review. Introduced in 1999, the first-generation Insight was a two-door vehicle and the first hybrid to launch in the U.S. Honda didn’t debut a second generation until 2009, when the model adopted a more practical five-door design. Still, we weren’t all that impressed with the Insight’s interior space, not to mention its ride quality. Transforming the Insight from an egg-shaped hatch to a sedan should help broaden its appeal. And it’ll erase any comparisons that may have been made in the past with the king of all hybrids, the Toyota Prius. Expect a much more premium feel and a more spacious interior for the new Insight. It’ll slot above the Civic in Honda’s lineup and will offer fuel economy that is competitive with other compact hybrids, the automaker says. Honda is also claiming the model will have “best-in-class performance.” “You won’t have to be an electrification advocate to appreciate the new Insight—it’s a great car in its own right, independent of what’s happening under the hood,” Henio Arcangeli Jr., senior vice president of Automobile Sales and general manager of the Honda Division at American Honda Motor Co., said in a statement. A production version of the Insight will arrive next summer. It’s part of Honda’s plan for electrified vehicles to comprise two-thirds of its global sales by 2030. The 2019 Honda Insight will join the new Accord Hybrid, launching early next year, alongside the Clarity series in Honda’s expanding green lineup. The vehicle will enter production at Honda’s plant in Greensburg, Indiana. Source: Honda
