  1. Hi guys, Stumble upon this website http://www.worldimpex.com/index.html Personally haven't tried it because I don't have the relevant software to confirm which parts is comparable with Skoda's. If they can offer exports to singapore, it could be an alternative to jhmbutt. Comments??
  2. Guys, Feast your eyes on this ! http://forums.germancarfans.com/zerothread?id=13807 Man, Skoda is getting aggressive siah !
  3. Ppl talk abt a car getting good FC, blah blah cf another car....but does that extra premium another car commands worth the FC factor? For ex, you buy car A at $50000, and Car B at $65000. Let's say FC of A is 9km/l, and Car B is 12km/l. Does that 3 km/l equate to petrol savings knowing you have paid a PREMIUM of $15000 upfront? Would you use that much of the $15000 in 10 yrs. Let's say you do, is really that much, cos most of us sell after 4-5 yrs, and perhaps pay only 4-5000 more.... Go figure
  4. See pics. Looks good but I wonder if his driveshaft can take it.
  5. Day parking until 10pm at $0.50/half hour. There after night parking at $2.00/night. Assuming you reach the place at 9.45pm. What would you put?
  6. $39,500 COE was really worth just $50 TWO years ago, financial controller L.H. Sim was congratulating herself for having bought a six-year-old Citroen Xantia for $39,000, when older, smaller Japanese models were going for $30,000 or so. The deal was particularly sweet as in the advertisement for the vehicle, used car dealer Hin Lung Credit said the car's certificate of entitlement (COE) cost $39,500. So if she had gone out and scrapped the car then, she would theoretically have been entitled to get about $15,000 back on her COE. But to her horror, the 45-year-old found out her pro-rated rebate would not be based on that sum, but on just $50, and she would have been entitled to only $20 back. http://ads.asia1.com.sg/click.ng/Params.ri...rt&size=300X250 'I found out through a newspaper article soon after the purchase,' she said. 'I was very, very upset.' The huge difference is due to a little-known clause, which states that the rebates for open-category certificates - which can be used to buy any vehicle type - will be based on the actual COE of the category of vehicle it is used for, if that is lower. In December 1997, when Ms Sim's two-litre Citroen was registered, the COE for cars above 1,600cc had crashed to $50. The Land Transport Authority told motor traders two years ago to inform buyers of this, after news reports of similar cases as Ms Sim's surfaced. The Singapore Vehicle Traders Association, which has 500 members in the used-car trade, said it has always asked members 'to make it clear to customers about such things as COE rebate'. A spokesman said: 'We have a disciplinary committee, and our Constitution allows us to expel members who are clearly out to cheat and give the trade a bad name.' Hin Lung, which is on the association's executive committee, made no such disclosure, Ms Sim said. 'We kept asking the salesman about the COE amount,' she added. Asked for its comments, Hin Lung did not confirm or deny this, and declined to say if such information was pertinent to prospective buyers, but added 'it's not proper... to litigate the matter through the press'. In a faxed response, the company said it has 'thoroughly investigated the complaints' and found them groundless. Ms Sim has been trying to resolve the case, including approaching her MP, Dr Chong Weng Chiew, and the Attorney-General's Chambers. She has also made a police report. The police have actually classified the matter as 'cheating, under section 417 of the Penal Code chapter 223', but said they will not be pursuing it because of 'insufficient evidence'. Ms Sim, however, is adamant, pointing out: 'We don't want to be bullied by a big company. I can't sell off the vehicle without incurring a big loss and I would not feel good passing the problem to another party.' The vehicle traders association said it has a department that helps mediate in such instances. 7. I accompanied my friend on a tire hunting trip today. He was looking for 195/60-15 tires. 8. http://www.suzuki-accessory.jp/new_swift/ wonder do our Aveo have such a website that is made specially for so nice kits (i mean everything just for Chevy Aveo and Optra and Vivant) check under the icons, still can customise somemore, hope can see something like that for us... hehe
  9. 15km/L based on 20L of Petronas Primax Baru! Brought me 300km. Who says only Japanese makes can achieve such potential? Who says you need fridge magnets! Who says you need Capsule, Monster, E68 or silly jazzamathingies! It is all in the right foot. Manual transmission helps but even for auto drivers, right foot power. BTW, I do whack her on entering expressways and that all important overtake the senior citizen roadhogging driver.
  10. Another one from GMDAT. I think it is the new Matiz. Churns out 64hp 5400RPM. No guessing that this will be a 1.0-1.1L engine. Notice the very upmarket signal indicators on the side mirrors. They are LED fitted. The rear is very stylish with centralized exhaust tips. Nice "bake you till you sweat roof" too. Toyota Echo/Yaris/Vios styled centralized instrument cluster. Looks like the reverse of the Kalos/Aveo setup.
  11. Hi all Have you all ever though if you were given the choice again to choose another brand/model other then your present ride, what will you take?? Frankly, if time can turn back, I will go for Suzuki Liana 1.3M Why because it has 2 airbags, immobliser, Latch rear seats, grip-type door handle, side skirts and Champion motor service. Haiz.. Sometimes I regret my choice and sometimes I endure it. If my Aveo is Auto then its more better as better to sell nxt time. Suzuki Liana 1.3M - Bigger stance - Grip-type door handles - Power mirror/windows/dr lock - Red illumination meters / a/c dials - Rear child seat anchors - 2 SRS airbags - Lights off reminder - Dual 12v Socket - Seat belt height adjust - Steering height adjust - Side skirts - Silent Roller Chain drive instead of timming belt. - Auto door lock. - Cable-operated Clutch pedal - Better coordinated clothe, fabric colouring

  16. Scroll down to see the broken TRD rear sway bar. (Top image is a competitor's rear sway bar, which is way better built) The TRD sway bar is not even welded properly together. Just a bar with two end caps. Unlike the competitor's 1 piece construction. http://www.matrixowners.com/modules.php?na...er=asc&start=15 All TRD products have some form of warranty, but this guy's warranty is voided because he installed it himself.
  17. 1. Not a bad car to own considering the price and stock level. In term of safety the let down is single airbag and the light-weight doors. Afterall, its more Japanese than Conti with the Madza 323 engine. 2. The RS model looks even more Japanese with the loud spoiler and the body kit. 3. Laser is generally a proven car in our tropical climate. The SE I know in RM, owned one Laser and Focus. 4. If you have a 70K budget for a 1.6L car with decent space, this one is worth looking at. Regards,
