  1. Hi: For safety, anyone know how to set the "small light" to auto-on each time when we switch on the engine? Fyi, this car did not have the light auto-on function. Any setting we can set to the car? Thanks.
  2. Fluids Fuel pump assembly removed completely Original fuel filter P/N. Comparison between new brake fluid and one that is 3 years old Breakdown of costs: Self Supplied Engine Oil CLTR 5W40 - $29.90 Oil Filter - $6.00 Brake Fluid (1L) - $7.35 Fuel Strainer - $39.90 Red Line MTL (2 quarts) - $46.00 From Riverview Labour - $100.00 Surcharge for Self Supplied items - $30.00 Total: $259.15 Time taken was approx. 3 hours. [/color] Comments: Could save more if I didn't change the manual transmission fluid. Changed it because KM used a wrong spec for it when they changed mine at 20k (wth they do that, I do not know.) Did not change coolant as well, which costs $20 for 4L at Riverview. During the servicing the mechanic, Ah Chin, went through with me the parts that he replaced and in some instances explaining in detail, especially the part on the fuel strainer. Upon re-assembly of the fuel pump back into the rear, a pressure gauge was used to test for the presence of any leakage (if there was, the fuel pump assembly was not tightened properly and cranking would take a longer time, or even be not possible.) Brake pads were also not required to be changed (still using day one originals) OEM Nissin ones cost $50.40, which I brought along just in case. After completion of servicing, the boss, Vincent took the car together with me for a drive to check for any anomalies. Finally, after everything was done, a car wash, including the engine bay, which left the insides spick and span.

  7. 8 charged for motor vehicle insurance fraud By Imelda Saad | Posted: 03 September 2010 1251 hrs Photos 1 of 1 SINGAPORE: Eight people were hauled to Court Friday for offences relating to motor vehicle insurance fraud. One suspect was rounded up after an insurance company alerted the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) of a scam in 2009. The case involved fraudulent personal injury claims made by a 38-year-old man for road traffic related accidents. CAD investigations showed that the suspect had staged an accident to make insurance claims for damages and personal injury. He is alleged to have caused the accident by wilfully applying the brakes to abruptly slow down the car that he was driving. This caused a lorry which was approaching from behind to collide with the rear of the car. The other suspects are men aged between 31 and 53. They are believed to have conspired to cheat insurers by engaging law firms to initiate personal injury proceedings. It's alleged the men had led insurers into believing that they were passengers in vehicles which were involved in accidents. Anyone convicted of cheating can be jailed up to 10 years and fined. The 38-year-old suspect in the first case faces an additional charge of reckless driving. If convicted, he could be fined up to S$3,000 and jailed up to 12 months. Director of the Commercial Affairs Department Mr Ong Hian Sun said: "Police take a very serious view of such offences. We will not hesitate to take firm action against perpetrators of such crimes." -CNA/wk ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [furious] tmd why dont he attempt to jam break in front of a 5 tonner. As if Sg auto insurance is not enough, morons like this should be lined up and shot

  11. Dear All, saw on the ad, both cars got my attention. I am thinking of getting a short term cars to tight over my sales business. Just started my business with my partner. So, we do not wish to fork out too much on car, but car is essential for me. Not considering van for now. Auto short term drive would be ideal, anything that is over 1.5 years would be good as once business stablized or doing better, will opt to upgrade and change to better or newer car. ** i am trading in my proton savvy 5month left car, with2.7 Scarp value plus abit on body. and i do not intend to throw in alot of down payment. max is use my trade in value to offset a little bit. Nissan March, 1.4C Auto. 2004. COE expired 2019 oct? selling 15800, Nissan Sunny, 1.6 Auto, 2006, COE expired May 2021, about 21800-22800 Which one is more ideal? heard sunny is very high FC? how about march? good for short term drive? and if mid way i wana sell off this car, to upgrade, what are the implication and things that i will foresee?
  12. Hi all. I am considering buying these 2 drives for my sales business But need to ask which is more ideal Chavolet aveo auto. Left about 2 yrs. Monthly instalment 850. Still can renew coe and take back scrap. But heard it is high FC. And repair very expensive. Suzuki Every. Renewed one round of 5yr coe already. Loan period about 4 yr plus. Monthly instalment 680. Can use to carry goods and got rear seats. But will it be as high FC as aveo? Or worst? And the engine is below driver seat. This will be a hazard in long run? Or it is not so bad as it seems? Anyone can verify?
