  1. Is there a module that wind down window via your car remote so before you enter your vehicle/start your engine, you can wait at a shaded area to allow the trapped heat go out ?
  2. The above device I would say is the best invention to date. For those complaining about the chow drivers who put HIDs, etc and glare directly into your cabin, gat an auto dimming mirror. Really saves the glare from those farking lexuses, er harriers who shine directly into your mirror like National Stadium. Helps those chow taxi drivers who have misaligned lights, etc. My ride has autodimming on the rearview and the reverse wing mirror on the driver's side. Of course, knn, left side can get glare, but hey, 2 out of 3 is as good as it gets. Your comments, please!
  3. Anyone can share if you have done / add on ur window with auto up-down for front both to Avante? somebody told me that might spoilt the motor due to the relay setting different or something like that....
  4. Celebrating 40 Years of ///M: Classic Showcase Munich Automobiles, the World's first dedicated BMW M dealership is celebrating BMW M Division's 40th Anniversary, and will be showcasing a small but select choice of classic autos to the public over the weekend. Although the Motorsport division were involved in earlier BMWs, the first true Genesis of the M-car was the uniquely exotic M1. Probably the only BMW ever that has two roundel badges on the rear end. Developed in conjunction with Lamborghini and penned by Giugiaro, the M1 was initially built to satisfy racing homologation rules, but these ever changing rules meant that when the M1 was ready to race, it was outlawed. So instead, they went racing by themselves, creating the M1 Procar series. The series ran for two years, with Niki Lauda winning the 1979 season, and Nelson Piquet the 1980 season. After BMW met the standards for Group 4, the Procars were used by various teams in the World Championship as well as other national series. One of the rarest cars ever made, only 456 production M1s were built, making it one of BMW's rarest models. With 1 making it to Singapore sitting proudly inside the M-car showroom after a painstaking restoration process which began a year ago. They love these car so much, we were given gloves when looking at the cars. I would do the same too if these were my babies. I of course couldn't resist sliding behind the driver's seat. What joy it was just sitting inside. You just know it's a special car when you are seated inside. Hearing one startup though is pure icing on the cake.
  5. Hi there, I am considering buying a car with a motorised boot close function. haven't used one before. could i check how useful it is...especially if raining or hands full situation carrying lots of things. or is it just a niceity thing. anyone could share?
  6. can anyone help recommend an auto euro van that has very good fuel economy. looking for a second hand one. preferably, low running costs, good reliability, has rear side windows so that i can put seats at the back. have turbo or no turbo better? also, just being curious, what might be the lowest running cost euro van, assuming yearly mileage of 20k km taking into consideration road tax, diesel, depreciation, maintenance cost, repair cost, and any other costs.
  7. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - Stars and Diamonds: Subarus and Mitsubishis Although Subaru's show-stopper this year at the auto salon was the BRZ, there was no let up on other exciting cars from Fuji Heavy Industries and various other tuners. This Impreza from Car Service Hiro certainly caught many visitors' attention, at first glance, looking very very much like a Mercedes, the big letters was the biggest clue to what lay beneath all that custom bodywork. The exhibitors were still giving it a once over when we arrived in the morning of the 1st day. Check out those massive massive wheels and the chopped roof. The wildest Impreza of the show? Back at Subaru's booth, they had a couple of tuned S206s. Take your pick. Maybe you'd prefer a JGTC racer? And if Rally is more your 'thang, here you go. This is the new face of the latest Imprezas. I didn't really like it. A little bit too chunky for my taste. To be fair though, it actually looked better in real life then in pictures. I tried to take as many angles as i could but it really doesn't photograph well at all. Elsewhere, Varis had an STI sedan all decked out. HKS Kansai also had a go with the STI sedan. Blitz showing off their lovely exhaust systems. And HKS Advan bringing on show the previous generation STI WRX. Rounding off the Subarus is Tommy Kaira's good looking Legacy Wagon.
  8. More and more of these night drivers who got special night vision it seems. Never on headlights I feel manufacturers should have in the cars the autolights as a premanent fixture. MEaning, no on/off switch. When it detects a certain level of darkness, the lights come on automatically. Case in point. Mercedes has no on switch for the lights. I cannot switch off the lights as the only option I have it so turn on the lights on a bright day. Else, get in the car, the lights come on automatically. This would really be a boon. However, still feel some wisecrack, 'want to save bulbs' idiot will go workshop disable...knn Your thoughts?
  9. Read the above-mentioned from a Taiwanese car magazine, any comments or advice? 1. ATF Oil Change Methods a)Drain and Replace Due to the complexitiy of Auto Gear Box mechanism, this method usually provide up to 30%of efficiency since leftover oil and deposits will always found stuck in the parts. b)Flushing Usually can reach 100% efficiency but it can also spoil the fine mechanical parts and seals if the pressue of flushing between the inlet and oulet are not kept consistently. c)Change ATF Filter The efficency is 40% but could be a faster and more direct approach. d) Regular oil change Another approach is to change every 20K, even without flushing or replacing the filter, a regular oil change would ensure oil slurge are diluted and expel out with higher change frequency. The most costly approach. 2. Use the correct ATF Stock ATF from the manufacturer is still the best and can't go wrong. 3. Work your Auto gearbox Manually shift down/up your auto gearbox is not a bad ideal. This actually dispel the oil slurge that linger around the moving parts. For those that frequent hilly terrains, it may be good to leave the gear at D3 instead of D. this is to prevent the auto gearbox from shift down/up frequenty automatically. The weakest point of auto greabox is still those moving parts that control gear shifting. Shifting to D3 for high traffic city driving is also recommended to alleviate the need to shift down from gear 4 frequently due to high numbers of stop at traffic lights. 4. Install an ATF Cooler ATF is particularly suited for tropical climate. Higher operating temperate would degrade the ATF fluid quicker than those cars operating under a cooler climate. Regards,
  10. Due to my new job which is based in the city, i hardly have a chance to drive anymore. Therefore i'm thinking of selling my car and buying a used off peak car instead. Whats the expected price i should get and any recommended dealers to sell to for better prices? Some info Lancer Glx 1.6A Grey (Apr 07) COE Open cat 13.2k but tagged to Cat A about 12k+++ OMV 11.1k+
  11. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The Girls! Part 3! Like i promised, with all my automotive postings done, here is the final part of my 3 part "Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 Girls!" special!!! It might be the last and final part, but good things come to those who wait! Enjoy! Some sassy Suzuki ladies... Not sure what they were promoting? Here's a closer look. Ooops, my camera slipped... NGK spark plugs are good stuff. Mmm.... plug... spark plug...
  12. Hi All, Anyone using the above? Does it works in reducing odours in cars? Care to share? I know Taka got sell, but at the pricing of S$ 180, its quite a killer ( i wanan be sure that at least, this product works to reducing odours before spending that amount of money). I been looking at other brands such as Sharp and Samsung (so called Samsung as its made by a korean company using Samsung Patented SPI technology) but none is as compact as this. Care to share your experiences if you have used this before? Many thanks in advance... I also discovered a place which sell this much much cheaper :)
  13. http://garage36.blogspot.com/2012/03/tokyo...r-daihatsu.html Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - K-Power! Daihatsu & Suzuki Now that i've hopefully satisfied some appetites for delicious "image girls", it's time to get back to cars. Unmistakably Japanese, you'd often find these 660cc Kei-cars running around town as they zip in between traffic gaps and dart into small tiny lanes. With these cars enjoying such popularity, it is no surprise there are tons and tons of aftermarket support for the little cars from Japan. Although most manufacturers in Japan have their own versions of the K-car, Daihatsu and Suzuki are probably the makes that first come into your mind when you think of these little pocket cars. They may be small in size, but sometimes, they can be big on image. Like the Copen from KLC. Slammed, wild camber, and running on oversized wheels you'd think the little 660cc motor will struggle to move. A different take on the Copen from Grand-Slam, looking a little bit more feminine on the inside. If the above was a "little" bit feminine, this Copen presented by FEEL was that bit "more" girly. Am sure these ladies approve. I honestly have no idea what this is, but it looked good. Slightly old car and built to a different beat, this Mira from Car Produce A.K.R. looked like it was ready to hit the tracks. It doesn't just look crazy, it was also converted to a RWD platform. Awesome.
  14. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The Girls! Part 2! It was inevitable! You guys liked Part 1 so much, i just had to expedite this posting. As before, less talk, more pictures. Here wo go!!! As always, tyre manufacturers had some sweet ladies. You think i should swap over to some Kumhos next time? How about now? Or should i stick with my trusty Hankooks?
  15. intend to buy the above car but need to clarify on few things 1. what is the tested FC so far on the auto version (rated 120hp) 2. is the above car reliable? (especially the auto gear box) 3. is the spare part expensive? thanks
  16. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - Of GTRs & Nissans How does one start off a post on the Nissans of the Tokyo Auto Salon? Or rather, how does one start off a post on the GTRs of the Auto Salon? No trip to Japan would ever be complete for an auto otaku until the first sighting of a GTR. It doesn't matter if it was an R32,33,34 or 35, the first sighting of these mythical Godzillas roaming around on their home turf is enough to send electricity up the spines of those enthusiast. And at the auto salon, there was no stortage of Godzilla sightings to keep us JDM-fans happy. Nissan brought out their 2012 GTR Black Edition and if you wanted, you could hop inside. Flanking the Black Edition were a pair of JGTC monsters. Advan also displayed their JGTC competitor. With the Cyber EVO due for retirement, development of it's replacement, the Cyber GTR is well under way. Can't mistake the paintwork for anything else. No strangers to the world of GTR tuning, Top Secret brought out this durty duo. That man in the red jacket is Mr Smokey Nagata himself! (He seemed camera shy) Phoenix Power's GTRs with one wearing the uber light and uber expensive BBS FIs. HKS Kansai representing. Can't mistake that yellow for anything other then a JUN car. HTF's massive winged GTR.
  17. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The Carpark Since i've covered all the euro imports, let's take a breather and head out to the carpark of Makuhari Messe and see what are the cars being driven to the Auto Salon. The cars that people actually drive as their commutes. 2 years ago i missed out on the carpark as i was just too busy shooting pictures inside the halls, this time, i made it a point to head out and explore. The first thing that hit me was just how vast the carpark was. There's no way i could have covered the entire carpark, so i just randomly walked around and turned when i see something that catches my eye. Like the trio of Supras above. Were these wangan warriors? You can seriously just spend hours here cool-car-hunting (or Speedhunting?). Cars which are cool to us are probably quite normal to the Japanese. Like the Nissan Gloria, R San-Yon and AE86. This Itasha Alphard looked pretty cool. There were a number of old school Japanese nostalgic cars, some tuned, some not... ...but this old school Toyota Crown wagon was my favourite. Here's a more modern Crown wagon.
  18. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - Old School Cool Compared with previous years' Auto Salons, this time, i did not spot many classics on the show floor. But those that were present made up for the lack of quantity with some quality showings. Retro favourites Rocky Auto showed off 2 JDM legends, an S30 Fairlady and a Hakosuka. Both tweaked, both insane. The Fairlady was jazzed up with a love-it or hate-it chrome wrap, ran a RB26. Rocky Auto's Hakosuka was constantly under siege by showgoers. What lay under the bonnet? Another RB26? How about a V8 from a Lexus LS400 (Toyota Celsior)? Purist stand back! Another car bound to give anoraks a heart attack is this 2000GT legend converted to run on electricity, complete with solar panels on the bonnet. Along the same lines as the 2000GT is this Subaru 360, also converted to run on batteries. Now that we are done with the horror of EV classics, here we present to you this beautifully lovely petrol drinking Kenmeri. Pictures just don't do these cars any justice at all. You just have to see them in the flesh. I wish to have my very own Kenmeri one day... This Fairlady is just beginning to have her youth renewed. Star Road's Fairlady sitting pretty and pristine. HCR showing us how wild an early Starlet can be. Phat wheels on a phat ride.
  19. Hi, i'm looking for a face-lifted Rx8, preferably 2008 June and after, low mileage will be a bonus. Willing to pay 2-3k higher than dealer price depending on condition, serious buyer ready to confirm anytime if car is right. Kindly drop me a mail at [email protected] and i'll reply instantly as i'm set my mail settings to alert. Thanks for your time :)
  20. Dear Fellow Bros', Need your suggestions on installing an Auto Dimming rear mirror. These days there seems to be a lot of people switching over to HID lights blinding drivers in front; so am thnking if installing the automatic dimming rear mirror as my current car does not come with it even though there is a small lever which I can flip to make it less blinding. Anyone has installed this and what is your feedback? Is it worth the money spent? Regards
  21. I think this deserves a seperate post: Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The Italians There were no shortage of sexy Italian metal in the halls of the Auto Salon. Pimped up Lamborghinis, petite Fiat500s and a couple of Ferraris. Let's start with some old school flavour with a black Testarossa flanked by 2 lovely laides, sitting at Goodyear's booth, next to the lovely RUF featured in a previous post. HRE had a California with 2 different sets of wheels on each side. Pirelli had a pretty stock looking Ferrari FF, it was my first time seeing the FF in the flesh and being a fan of the Shooting Brake style, i loved it. Need new wheels for your Prancing Horse? How about some Asantis? I liked the detailing on the edge of the rim. Hyper Forged wheels had Ferrari's stablemate, Maserati, on some rather big kicks to fill up the entire wheelwell. Not forgetting Ferrari's parent company, there were some Fiats on display as well. This yellow 500 from Tipo looked particularly sweet.
  22. Thinking of getting them to change shocks for me as they have the aftermarket springs. Anyone with experience wirh them or have better suggestion of where else to install
  23. Anyone tried this before? Was reading on their website, seems quite an interesting product for casual cleaning. Spotted it on Groupon http://www.groupon.sg/in/.DR3CQM?nlp Going for 50% off at $14.50 Thinking if I should buy some to try, appreciate any comments.
  24. Was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago for the Auto Salon. Here are some BMWs. Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - The BMWs There were quite a number of BMWs on display at TAS this year and since my blog stemmed from my love of the marque, i shall start of my TAS postings with the cars from Bavaria! ERJ Sports Development had a pair of fattened E90 sedans looking race ready with their "ZeroFighter" kit. Laptorr's M3 was sitting close by. Arma showed off their newly boosted Z4 sDrive23i. Up to slightly over 300 horses from 200 odd. Impressive. I really liked the splash graphics on the sides. Rowen also had a Z4 on their stand. They call it, the "White Wolf". It was nice to see an E36 still on display. This one had pretty cool silver carbon elements. BBS had a 1M from Studie wearing their very sexy, very expensive and very lightweight BBS FIs. FI for Forged Individual. How light? In 19" size, a wheel will come in at slightly below 7.4 kgs. Amazing. Amongst all the BMWs on show, F10s were the choice of most tuners this year. Work wheels had an F10. So did 3D Design. So did Studie. Showcasing an ACS'd F10.
  25. Hi guys, Have a quick question on 08 Fit; does the door auto lock after driving off at a certain speed with the stock remote cos mine isn't doing that .I know that aftermarket remotes can easily do that. Read that the American Fits auto door locking system can be programed into different settings but I cant find the magical door lock button to execute the steps hence the curiosity. Cheers
