  1. Because I love wasting time in the office - three questions for discussion 1. Which Singapore AD has the best facebook page? 2. Which is your favourite motoring Youtube channel? 3. Which Manufacturer has the best Youtube channel? Note - wasn't sure to put this into cars or L&E - but as it's about watching and not doing decided on L&E My answers - I like Chris Harris on Cars and Autocar channels for good information, Topgear for great cinematography. Manufacturers - Lamborghini still makes the best promo videos, but for sheer amount of content I like ///M Cars - their driftmob video etc rock. As for local facebook page - too many to choose!

  8. So on my E60 523i, I changed new brake pads recently but left the old rotors on, as they still had lots of life left. The problem was the squeal when driving slowly (not braking). I read up on this phenomenon and it appeared that the new pads were not sitting on the backing very well, because of dirt and dust over the years. And while this does not cause friction against the rotors, it is the vibration of the brake pads and the backing that causes harmonics and hence, these squeals. One of the methods recommended was to drive till 80 or 100 kmh and then brake violently till stop. Do it 5 times (or so they said) and the squeal will be gone cuz the new pads will be seated properly then. I tried it and it worked! No more squeal. There are other methods which require taking out the pads again, cleaning the back of the pads and the backing, and then greasing the back of the pads and putting duct tape on them etc but they were a waste of time I thought. This was the easiest and fastest way, but do it somewhere safe.

  11. Dear MCFers, Been following MCF for awhile and i like all the fair and honest comments about all the different rides here albeit most i read are negative stuff. Haha! Eg, VW and beemers not reliable Lexus overpriced Blah blah blah. This thread is for car owners to share the GOOD things about their cars, or the good things in the cars they had driven before. For example, i like my family's previous GS300. Good, reliable, comfortable all the way to almost 200k mileage without much maintenance issues. All types of rides and positive comments are welcome here! Cheers! :)
  12. Dear all experts, I wonder which is the most suitable external storage solution for the purpose of backup and speedy recovery for a SME? Option 1. (Corsair Voyager Air) I have the option to backup my corporate NAS to it via gigabit ethernet or USB 3.0. Backup may not be as fast as eSATA using USB 3.0. In a disaster, I can quickly access my data via network switch or a wireless router. Option 2. (External HDD with eSATA and USB 3.0) This option can use high performance eSATA to backup data from server/NAS. In a disaster, data has to be copied to a host in order for the rest to access. slower recovery. Option 3. (External HDD with only USB 3.0) Almost same as option 2, but restoration could be the slowest but the cheaper option. Part of reason of using an external HDD is because it is portable, light weight and can be carried around for off-site storage. Do you have a better suggestion than the above-mentioned? Kindly advise me. Thank you very much. Regards,
  13. The video might be 15 minutes long but its totally worth it. It uses actual facts and logic to get rid of the notion that lower speed limits is the way to go. So what's your take on this? Should the speed limit be raised to eliminate the hoggers?

  19. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1454767/...d-books?cc=4716 Bayern rewrite Bundesliga record books May 20, 2013 Runaway champions Bayern Munich have set a host of new Bundesliga records this season. Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes bids farewell at Borussia Monchengladbach As coach Jupp Heynckes brought down the curtain on his Munich career with a thrilling 4-3 win at Borussia Monchengladbach - his hometown club - his class of 2012-13 rewrote the history books in the Bundesliga's 50th year. They collected the most points, 91, beating Dortmund's 2011-12 record by ten, and the most wins, 29. Their superlative away form saw them pick up 47 away points - ten more than the previous best - and rack up a nine-game winning streak on their travels. Their 25-point cushion at the top was the biggest-ever margin, while their goal difference of plus 80 set another record. They wrapped up the title after the lowest number of games, needing only 28 to seal the crown, while keeping the most clean sheets - a total of 21. The eight-match winning streak with which they opened the season created another landmark. And as the campaign progressed, a 14-game winning run became the longest in Bundesliga history. They also emulated their own previous achievement of leading the table from the season's first day to its conclusion and equalled another four German top-flight records:
