My vote goes to HONDA ! Congratulation !!!!! Reason : Honda is no longer a ''Honda'' now , In the past , Honda create good cars like S2K , Integra , Type Rs and etc... But today , Honda stop production of all the Type Rs , S2K and even the NSX , and it is very sad . Honda please come back and create at least one car which is similiar like the S2K I don't wanna see Honda create 10 cars over 10 which is all about fuel efficient !!! Honda !!!!! your slogan is POWER OF DREAM !!! But then , we can't deny their reliability , their reliability is still there . Anyway , i am not hating Honda because i own one too Cheers .

Was talking to someone the other day who was balloting for some BTO projects in Punggol. 5 room is 90sqm niah and cost over 600K. That is over 600 per sqft. If he is telling the truth, then really wtf....we are screwed up down left right, plus front and back. So expensive, wondering who still snap up those units, our foreign talents??? Its worst than mickey mouse house, I call that bee hive concept. The worker bee work till die...sounds familiar isnt it??? And then the hive still taken away to extract the honey... And please dun start the crap of comparing with Hongkong lah, Japan lah.

I floated this qn under a merc thread but i guess this applies to all cars. I am wondering if its cheaper buying a second hand C200 or a brand new. For second hand, abt 1 yr plus old, you can get around $14x,xxx. Brand new - $163,xxx. But brand new gives you credits and cheaper loan, and overtrade. Why would pple buy second hand then? I also have concern about second-hand cars. How can I tell if a seller say it is accident-free, that he is telling the truth?

The most valuable car marque in the world today is BMW. Automotive News reports that BMW has replaced Toyota to take the number one spot in the list of automakers. The study was part of an overall study called the BrandZ Top 100 conducted by Millward Brown research group. The car manufacturers are number 25 and 26 on the list respectively. I suppose Toyota's drop in position was caused by all the controversy caused by its recalls and faults throughout the United States and Europe. Of course somehow Toyota owners in Japan and here in South East Asia do not seem to have any of the problems faced by the people elsewhere. It's a conspiracy I tell you! According to the study, Toyota's value declined by 27 percent to a shade under US$21.8 billion. Meanwhile, BMW also suffered a drop, mainly due to the recent economic crisis. The BMW drop was less at only nine percent, putting its total value also at $21.8 billion.The researchers at Millward Brown seem to think Toyota should recover from the recall crisis and said that the carmaker's aggressive work to rebuild its reputation should do much to restore the company's global standing. Expect them to retake the position soon. The recent credit crunch that caused the recent economic crisis had taken its toll on all car manufacturers. Mercedes Benz (number 53 on the list), who basically seem to have a higher standing here in South East Asia, and Porsche (number 65) have suffered. The former saw their brand value drop by 11 percent and the latter by 31 percent. That somehow does not seem to stop all those towkays from buying the latest E-class anyway. So what is it about the value of a certain brand? Strong brands have the power to create business value. They impact much more than revenues and profit margins. Strong brands create competitive advantages by commanding a price premium and decrease the cost of entry into new markets and categories. They reduce business risk and help attract and retain talented staff. There you have it. A short and concise explanation on the value of a brand and why its supposedly very important. BMW must be doing things right as even with cars that are over-designed to some and nowhere near as ULTIMATE as you'd expect the Ultimate Driving Machine to be. Maybe the Joy of Driving really exists in all those niche marketing vehicles they bring out nowadays. given the current coe quota cut and sky rocketing coe prices, buyers with small budget will most likely go for 2nd cars and those who can spend on a new car will probably go for the more establish brands since it already cost so much to own a new one. will those not so establish brands (don't want to put any name but you should know who they are) eventually fold up?

British mag Auto Express is reporting that Daimler executives have a plan in place to close the door on Maybach. The ultra-luxury brand, purchased by Daimler-Benz in 1960, was restarted as an automotive brand in 2002 following the 1997 introduction of the Mercedes-Benz Maybach concept in Tokyo. Maybach was founded as a heavy-duty engine production company in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach, a former technical director at Daimler. The company's first concept car debuted in 1919, and began assembly of extravagant vehicles two years later. The company halted automotive production in 1940, when they began building engines for German tanks in World War II. Car manufacture stalled for 60 years. Sales at Maybach have flatlined since 2007, and were made worse by the global economic downturn. Further, Daimler may be looking to block Maybach from cannibalizing sales within their house brand, as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is scheduled for release in 2014. The S-Class is set to be a top-shelf car with an impressive touch screen that lets the user control most interior functions with hand gestures. As we previously reported, Maybach's short-term plans include a facelift only, and no new engines. A redesign will include LED daytime lights, new grille, freshened bumper, and a hood with a new look. The facelifted Maybach could get a debut in April at the Beijing Auto Show.

Saw an old school Ford Cortina this morning. It was with a new coat of paint and the internal is fully-refurbished with new leather seats. Even the upholstery looks fantastic. It comes with a unique number plate. Does it belong to anyone here? Brings back my childhood memories! The actual car looks better than the quick photo I have taken. I am using a lousy cam Hp.
