  1. Police in Munich have put a stop to a ring of thieves that included BMW employees who were stealing car parts from the factory and selling them on the black market. Authorities say that the gang stole over
  2. Scholar admits child porn A SINGAPOREAN student on a teaching scholarship at the University of York in Britain has pleaded guilty to downloading indecent videos of children. Jonathan Wong, 23, who was once in the gifted education programme at Hwa Chong Institution, was caught after undergraduates became suspicious of files on the university's intranet and told the authorities, said The York Press newspaper. The files were traced to him and police raided his home on the university's Heslington campus. They took away his laptop and hard drive, where they found 50 videos of hardcore child pornography, some of which were graphic, had audio, or lasted more than an hour. They also featured girls as young as six, Mr Martin Butterworth, from the Crown Prosecution Service, told magistrates in York on Wednesday. He described the videos as 'quite serious offences'. Wong, said to have few friends at York, where he was studying history on a Ministry of Education (MOE) scholarship, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of downloading child pornography between July 15, 2008, and March 19 this year. ********* plain stupidity.....uploading videos on his school's intranet. Scholar or not....his future will be down the drain. hmm, wonder if MOE will dismiss him?
  3. HE'S only 11. But Joe was caught by the police last Wednesday evening, allegedly for inhalant abuse. It was not his first time. His 13-year-old friend, Pete, was also caught. Joe has three older brothers. One's 15 and already under supervision for inhalant abuse. Another, 17, is in a Reformative Training Centre (RTC) for armed robbery. The eldest brother, 19, lives with his father. His parents are divorced. A reader had alerted The New Paper to a family that had turned a HDB lift lobby into a makeshift home. The "family" was Joe, his mother and 15-year-old brother. Over two days, we observed Joe and his friend loitering in Yishun instead of being in school. They appeared to be constantly drinking out of soft drink cans. It was only after they were caught that it became clear they were not drinking but getting their fix by inhaling a substance in the cans. Inhalant abuse, commonly known as glue-sniffing, usually involves substances like glue, petrol and paint thinner whose vapours can induce a high but have serious health effects on abusers. After reading this article.. I felt sad.. what if he's my brother.. sigh.. my brother age some more..

  8. wa piang! click the link to watch the video.... http://www.asiaone.com/static/motoring/gal...8_insane_crash/ MASON, Ohio - A shocking crash that saw a driver launched into the air and subsequently smashed into a bridge has been caught on police camera. A 19-year-old driver, Brendan S Eden was reportedly speeding at more than 100mph (160kmh) when he hit a centre divider, went airborne and slammed into an overpass, according to reports. The car, a 1995 Pontiac Firebird, split into three pieces from the impact and the driver was thrown from the wreckage. A dashboard-mounted camera in a police car captured entirely the accident that left Eden in critical condition. The highway was subsequently shut down for more than six hours. 'He went down into the median, into the grass, hit the guardrail, went airborne and the car hit the center post of the bridge and literally exploded into three main pieces," Mark Riley, who witnessed the crash, told WTDN-TV. 'He is very lucky to still be alive at this point,' said Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Marty Fellure. 'You can see behind me the impact he took and where he got ejected and landed, he's a very fortunate man right now.'

  11. This Lamborghini caught fire along Holland Road on Friday, a week after a Ferrari that went up in flames made local headlines. Reader Siva Sundram not only captured the drama on camera, he also was a part of it -- putting out the small blaze with a fire extinguisher he bought just the day before, which he had stashed in his car. According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the driver of the supercar was a 30-year-old man who had a female passenger with him. source: TODAY
  12. Was driving along the rightmost lane of TPE earlier tonight when a panel van tailgated me. Real close. I could see the driver's face, as well as the barrier cage between the seats and the cargo area. Keeping in mind the safety of my family, I moved over to lane 2 to let him pass. He cut in front of my car dangerously from lane 3 and braked hard. I moved over to lane 1 and he did the same thing again. I just slowed down, and kept an even safer distance. He exited at Punggol exit, with an arm out of the window. Was waiting to see, but that van didn't tried to take the service road back to TPE to harass us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5bQ9t76Xio

  19. Date: 02/06/2010 Source: mypaper Journalist: ANNABELLE LIANG Photographer: (PHOTOS: STOMP) SINGAPORE Armed Forces (SAF) soldiers are giving themselves a bad name, with a recent spate of misdemeanours. One posted a photograph of himself in full army attire, holding a cigarette and leaving his SAR21 rifle unattended. In another incident, a group of soldiers was caught visiting a brothel during a military exercise in Taiwan. According to a May 22 report by The Liberty Times, a Taiwanese newspaper, a certain Sergeant Wang and three other SAF soldiers were caught visiting a massage parlour that also operated as a brothel in the southern city of Pintung. It was reported that Sgt Wang broke away from the trio of Singaporean soldiers, as well as four accompanying Taiwanese soldiers, to visit the parlour. After getting their dinner, the rest went to the parlour to wait for him and were ambushed by Taiwanese police, who were raiding the brothel that evening. The news article was published on citizen-journalism website Stomp yesterday. Also fresh on Stomp were an article and photograph of a full-time national serviceman squatting and posing with a cigarette, a "rocker" hand gesture and an unattended SAR21 rifle. The soldier, who is believed to be on duty at a sentry post, uploaded the photograph onto a social-networking site. The post drew a slew of reactions from Stomp users. One user named Decadent wrote that the soldier was going to get into huge trouble, but that he deserved it because uploading the photos was stupid. On the contrary, ToShac68 was unfazed, and said that duties in the army were only a simulation, and that the man simply wanted to "pose like American or British soldiers, holding guns and smoking in uniform". Full-time national servicemen, however, took the postings in a more serious light. One of them, Private Timothy Tan, said: "It tarnishes the image of the SAF as most soldiers are usually very disciplined. "They are poor representatives of the current soldiers and poor examples to future generations of soldiers." Another NSF, Lance-Corporal Li Wen Hao, said: "It is irresponsible of them, as they represent our country. Now that it has gone public, it will affect the good reputation of other NSFs." When NSFs were found to be forming groups on social-networking website Facebook last year, the Ministry of Defence said that all SAF personnel are not to disclose or post classified or sensitive information and photos online.

  22. http://www.lancermotoringclub.com/showthread.php?t=23504 Dear All, pls take time to read on. My car and other cars were scratched randomly for no apparent reason. Below is my encounter on the incident. Might need your help to alert the police if you see his car. Before this b****d goes on to scratch other's cars. Anyone of you could be the next victim. Culprit's Car SGM 4340 R (OPC red plate) Black Sedan Chevrolet Culprit: Age Mid 30s - Early 40s. On early Sat morning (0005hrs), I parked my car along Keong Saik Rd, for the famous porridge stall. Many of you will know the porridge stall at / around chinatown. I parked at one of the sheltered carpark. After I parked, I walked out of the carpark and just happen to walk back to take a look at the Parking Notice Sign, to confirm that after 10pm is FREE parking. I was walking behind this "uncle" about 5 metres away. When I was at the entrance of the carpark, I saw this uncle suddenly walk towards my car, what followed next was a looooong loud screeching sound. It shocked me. He did it so causally. Just walk past and happilly scratched. The same followed for other cars. Including a Merc CLK. I followed behind the guy hoping to be able to trace him, perhaps he stays ard the area. Then I heard a car being unlocked. It was his car. STUPID isnt it? I took down his license plate number. Called 999 to inform, should he be stopped at a road block. And I made a police report shortly after. I left a note on the windscreen of the CLK, and we are working together to nail the b------d. He too made a report. From an internal source, the car belongs to a LADY. Perhaps the owner. Insurance stated owner is NOT DRIVING. I have got the address too. But lets put this aside first. The IO called and inform to call 999 should his car be spotted, don't alreat the driver. Just call. They need to ascertain the actual driver. This car and person is now on the wanted list. The police takes a serious view on causing mischief to vehicles. Vandalism. Micheal Fay got the rotan. This guy will too. Prob just call 999 as not many of you will remember my number LOL. Lets work together to nail this kind of b*****d one by one.
  23. This couple was reportedly caught on camera stealing an iPhone. According to the girl whose iPhone was stolen, she had seen the couple at Far East Plaza. She was talking on her iPhone when the girl entered her shop to browse the items. In an e-mail to citizen journalism website STOMP, the sales lady said she placed her iPhone under the counter as she would normally do and went to serve her. When she returned to the counter, the phone was missing. The boy was caught the next day but the girl was released. The owner of the newly bought iPhone voiced her frustration at not being able to get it back as the boy claimed he had already sold it. This what she had to say: "I had only gotten the phone for 3 days. "The girl should be caught and punished."
  24. Lewis Hamilton was on Friday night charged by local police after he was caught doing smoky burnouts and 'fish-tailing' in a Mercedes road car near the Albert Park circuit. At 9.15pm in St Kilda, within sight of the turn 13 section of the formula one circuit, the 2008 world champion was pulled over by a Victorian Police divisional van. We reported earlier on Friday that the 25-year-old McLaren driver's company car this weekend is a silver 2010 E500 saloon. Police charged Hamilton, who will be summoned, with improper use of a motor vehicle and have impounded the car for 48 hours. Police confirmed that a 25-year-old Briton has been charged. Senior Constable Scott Woodford said the man was "extremely cooperative" and "fairy disappointed" with the incident. Wire reports said Hamilton was "visibly upset" and "worried this would dent his reputation". The incident coincides with a push within F1 for better road safety, with all teams contributing to the FIA's global campaign. In a statement issued by McLaren, Hamilton said: ?"This evening, I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police. "What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it."
