  1. A POLICE CAR was badly smashed at SENGKANG EAST WAY TRAFFIC JUNCTION abt 2 wk ago. This afternnon abt 1 plus, another POLICE CAR was again involved in an accident at a TRAFFIC JUNCTION along HOUGANG AVE 2 near HG SPORT COMPLEX.
  2. Inspired by the epically long Kia Koup thread ...... What is considered a poser car? Is there a rule that only fast cars can look sleek? Why can't the designers of an average performing car try to make the exterior attractive? More than one car looks fast but how come not all get the poser tag? Isn't it more poser when people buy a stock car and try to transform it into something it is not? For example the fake WRX and Wajalutions. Or what about people who buy a genuinely powerful car but can only go fast on straight roads?
  3. I had a debate with one of my friends on topic Poser Car. We unable conclude the debate. We both insist on our stand. I wonder what do you think of the term "Poser Car". Please vote and explain your choice to help us out here. Thanks.

  5. have been looking at used car ads in sgcarmart. called a "direct owner" selling his car and turns out he is actually a car dealer. what a turn off. looked closer at some "owner" ads and some seems to be dealer as well (eg. offering trade-in, loans, etc). why these people pretend to be owners? should i have any concerns buying from them? my initial reaction is that if he can't even be open about who he is and his company name, how can i feel comfortable buying a car from him....

Been driving a Lancer GLX (sports) 1.6A registered Jun 2006 (OMV around $13,000) A dealer is offering to buy my car at $28k but I'm not sure if this is a good value? Wonder if there is any body value? Anyone can advise what is a good selling price please? Thanks

    Car got scratch

Visited a friend's house yesterday. It was a HDB apartment in the west. Reached at 7plus PM and proceed to park my car at the Multi Storey Carpark. When i went back to collect my car at 12plus AM, i saw a deep scratch on the driver's side. The scratch is around 30cm and deep to the metal!!! What is wrong with these people? Been driving this car for 1 year plus and no such thing happen before... guess I am just unlucky to be at the wrong place in the wrong time.

  15. China Top Car model I read someone leaked the video or pictures!
  16. Inspired by the other thread. Let's have your predictions. My predictions would be: 1) Tear-out parking coupons. To be replaced by cashcard systems or SMS-based systems or some other new thing. 2) Paper road-tax discs. To be replaced by pure-electronic registration - if they can do it for OPC, why not for all cars? 3) Finally (this will take the longest, since they just spent money on implementing new EZ-link cashcard-based IUs and new gantries), removal of in-vehicle units and all ERP gantries, to be replaced by GPS-based road taxation.
  17. We love technology, but there are times when the smart-pants science types help the bad guys even more than the good guys. The latest example is called the Electronic Key Impressioner (EKI), and it makes the job of a locksmith (or Memphis Raines) a lot easier than it has ever been before. The scanner is a small hand-held device (pictured, above) with a scanning tip that electronically maps the inside of car locks. The device can then be attached to a computer via a USB device where lock mapping software accesses a list of updated key codes. While the EKI system sounds pretty easy to use, there are still some drawbacks. First of all, the device presently only works with Fords, though the creators hope to expand the amount of vehicles with which the EKI can work in the near future. The system also only works with traditional keys
  18. wonder if its me or is this really the case now that i changed to a smaller cc 1.4 korean car, always get this. like today kept to middle lane cos got taxi bay at left lane (always blocked by taxi) need to turn 150m after taxi lane, signal early left while in middle lane. stupid uncle driving a presage 2.5 think he is vip, purposely speed up to just behind my backside to prevent me from filtering, i indicate my intentions (havent i already done it few secs ago with my signal) by vering slightly to left. he still come closer, if i let him go, then i will completely miss the turn. in the end, i have to press horn, gesture and floor accelerator damn uncle, have to curse him on cny. and this aint the first such incident. didnt happen as much when i was driving a 1.6

Hence i created this poll listing down as many car publication titles as i can think of. If i have left out any, please inform me! For a brief introduction of each title, you may refer to my blog post here. Thank you very much for your participation. :) (*N.B. I've only listed down the print titles.)
  21. how many moderators are there in this forum and what car they drive?
  22. Well, I thought this topic is quite light-hearted... Bro Extramint mentioned that his ride is nicknamed Megan Fox.. while mine is named after an Old HK actor (see story below)... Ooh yes... there's a name to my car.. a very silly one that only my brother, his gf and my ex gf knows... haha... When I first set my eyes on the FN2R, there was this particular colleague who egged me on to buy it... he looks like an old HK actor (Lui SongRen)... So I went back and told my ex-gf (gf at that time) that "Lui song Ren said FN2R is dammed cool.. blah blah blah....) As time went on, she and my bro (and subsequently his gf too) began refering to my car as Lui Song Ren.. haha dammed bo liao I know.... So was wondering if any other bros/sis has a neame for their rides?? haha cheers
