  1. My father got sweet talked into signing an agreement to sell his vehicle on the spot by a dealer located in Turf City. He is 62 years old and doesn't know how to read English. No other person was present when he signed. The person who referred the dealer is from a workshop where my father send his vehicle for repairs. And this same person kept telling my father this is the best price to sell liao. So shady imo. I checked with other dealers and not surprised to know that my father can get a better price elsewhere. I called the dealer and asked him nicely why didn't he explain to my father what he was going to sign. My father thought it was just a letter of offer but turns out it was the sales agreement. The dealer rudely replied say buy and sell car is like going to supermarket buy chicken. Very simple no need to explain. He even told me, if you all change your mind just compensate me because your father signed liao. You better do your homework before you call me. If not we go court lor. This dealer who I spoke to apparently is the boss. I know there is nothing much I can do when my father is too embarrassed to pursue this matter. No unkind comments please. Already feel damn down liao.
  2. My car is parked under hot sun daily , tried few types and the aroma very fast finish due to te heat.

  8. If you buy a COE Car and have $3K to spare. . . This is an assumptive thread where I will go and fish some of the COE cars in sgcarmart and share with you all, If I were to buy these cars, what are the things that I will spend on and why I will spend on these items. I did buy a COE car, and I spend quite a fair bit in modification, But that's my hobby. For those who are considering buying COE car or those who are driving a COE car, please come and share with us your maintenance and pro tips to preserve a COE car. To start off with the first car, I have chosen my own car model. 2007 Honda Accord Euro R. So, if I put aside $3,000. What will I spend on? The car itself is in a very mint condition, Only like some exterior wear and tear I will complaint, other than that I think the car drives very well so nothing much I would like to do to the engine, Just to make it a tad bit better for daily driving. Innovative Mount - $500 + 300(labour) I bought the engine mount online at ebay and went to install. Skunk2 Short Shifter - $90 Alpine Type-E Series SXE-1750S Car Audio 6.5-Inch Component 2-Way Speakers ($60) PAC RPK4-HD1101 Audio Integrated Installation Kit 2003-2007 Honda Accord ($400) I think this is one of my best value buy. instantly make the car modern again! Now Euro R comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto! Sony XAV-AX200 DVD Receiver w/Bluetooth - ($350) The reason why I choose this headunit is because of the volume knob. I am very analog and anal when comes to these things. So this fit the bills. Momo 350 Monte Carlo Steering wheel ($130) Brought Second-hand at Japan Yahoo auction. They say airbag save lives. But unfortunately, the Honda Accord Euro R had a recall for the airbag. And I would like to preserve the original steering wheel in good condition, so when I sell the car, I hope it helps to fetch a better price, so I bought a momo steering wheel to replace. Haven't install yet, will update the photos when installed. Fluidampr performance damper ($700) Also Yahoo Auction. Since I upgraded the engine mount, the rattling of the dash is quite significant, yes, the drive is more responsive. But also a bit harsh in daily drive. So after some research, I came across this damper to help absorb some of the vibrations and also give a smoother delivery on low RPM. A full spray exterior spray painting. ($900) I have sent my car for a refresh since I might drive it for 10 years. Best decision ever! For those who want lobangs can check out MCF Marketplace for lobangs! Summary Innovative mount - $800 Skunk2 Short Shifter - $90 Alpine Speaker - $60 PAC Kit - $400 Sony XAV-AX200 - $350 MOMO Steering Wheel - $130 FluidAmpr - $700 Full Respray - $900 Total = $3,430 Over budget abit. I think Steering wheel and short shifter can be excluded if want. 😄
  9. Anyone using the above mentioned brand of car mats? Any reviews on it?
  10. I am starting this thread to do my part in boosting the traffic / readership / participationship in MCF. I started the same topic during my time with AsiaOne Motoring Forum, and this used to be one of the hottest thread over there. All the old birds from A1M Forum (@fitvip, @presea, @hotnyh, @sabian, @7007, @ahyoo2002, etc.), let do our part to keep MCF active so that this forum would not face the same fate as A1M. For a start, let have something easy. All these 3 model were available in Singapore some 15 - 20 years ago. Happy guessing... #1 #2 #3

  12. Tesla drivers say they have been locked out of their cars after an outage struck the carmaker's app. Dozens of owners posted on social media about seeing an error message on the mobile app that was preventing them from connecting to their vehicles. Tesla chief executive Elon Musk personally responded to one complaint from a driver in South Korea, saying on Twitter: "Checking." Mr Musk later said the app was coming back online. The Tesla app is used as a key by drivers to unlock and start their cars. Owners posted a multitude of complaints online about not being able to use their vehicles. "I'm stuck an hour away from home because I normally use my phone to start [my] car," one owner tweeted. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-59357306
  13. Car seen transporting 3-seater sofa on its roof at Ikea carpark in Tampines. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/car-seen-transporting-3-seater-sofa-on-its-roof-at-ikea-carpark-in-tampines A family has drawn criticism for trying to transport a three-seater sofa on their car roof at the carpark of Ikea Tampines. Facebook page SG Road Vigilante posted a video of the incident that occurred on Wednesday night (Nov 17). In the video, the Citroën C4 is seen trying to exit the carpark with the sofa secured on its roof. The car's occupants have drawn flak from netizens, who felt that they could have just paid for professional delivery. One user commented: "Got money spend for the car but no money spend for delivery." Many also likened the unusual sight to a scene from the Mr Bean television series. In the iconic scene, the titular character is seen maneuvering his vehicle with a mop while seated on a sofa secured to the car roof.

  17. Hello all, Newbie here with regards to getting a secondhand car, would like to seek advice here. Generally what should you look out for when considering to buy a secondhand/COE car? Specifically, does anybody have any review/experience dealing with <Car Express Auto Trading>? Saw a car that I'm interested in but can't seem to find any reviews on them. Thanks in advance!
  18. 6 men, allegedly insurance claims specialists, appear out of nowhere along PIE after accident They allegedly show up quite quickly after an accident along the roads in Singapore. https://mothership.sg/2021/09/claims-specialists-singapore/ The video was uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante platform on Sep. 22, 2021. A video showing the aftermath of a minor vehicular accident along the Pan Island Expressway on June 6, 2021 has gotten motorists in Singapore talking. Within a day, it has been viewed more than 317,000 times. 6 men appear out of nowhere The description of the video on YouTube gave a vague account of what was shown in the short clip, in which numerous men were seen congregating by the road shoulder of PIE towards Tuas near the Kallang Bahru exit. The description also said the men appeared out of nowhere to the scene and were allegedly soliciting the motorists involved to file insurance claims. Based on what could be seen, there were six men involved -- four men exited the yellow Honda and two from the black Audi. However, the contents of the video soon became more apparent as more commenters on Facebook chimed in with their own experiences having also apparently encountered something similar previously.
  19. Hi bros here. Some noobie question to ask about car price after the 80k coe yesterday Sgcarmart updated skoda price to price without coe. Coincidentally I have noticed some other dealers list car prices without coe as well. May I know how does this work and wads the rationale behind this? High coe so hide the coe? Means buyer bid for own coe? Or dun want list price with coe to frighten off buyers? Not lookin to buy a car at this crazy amount but am puzzled how this works and appreciate if you can help a noob out
  20. Browsing through the Elantra thread, it seems that more people are buying this model rather than the Altis. There seems to be more new Elantra than Altis on the roads as well. I can attribute it to the vast price difference between the two models. VES is one factor that is against the altis. Also, the specs of this Korean made car is superior than the Altis. Is this the year where the Elantra reign supreme and become the best selling car in Singapore? Is this the time where the Altis is finally dethroned by the Elantra? Or maybe Altis will still retain its top selling crown? Afterall the Toyota brand has always been associated with reliability. Lets have a healthy discussion on this.
  21. Is there any rumors going on that without turning on your headlight ur car can gain extra few horse? Had notice since months ago that more and more often I would see cars traveling without any headlight at nite. Almost once every every few night will spotted one. Last night when traveling on TPE, I was on the 2nd lane going at abt 100. approaching a car, I signal right, check clear, move out. half way out, suddenly, a high beam flash past my rear mirror, realising it is so near, I immediately cut back into my lane. was a black car without any headlight on. The car itself is black in color. So dark that I cant figure much the model of the car, except it look like a vios or similar size sedan. turning out x'press way heading to home, see another car without headlight, except this time it is a white CRV. Think going to try tonight see if don turn on headlight, will my car go faster!
