  2. http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews...518-346619.html The Star/Asia News Network Friday, May 18, 2012 PUTRAJAYA - Beginning June 1, foreign visitors to Malaysia are no longer required to fill in the Immigration Disembarkation Card, commonly known as the IMM.26 Form. They only need to produce their passports upon entering the country. Home Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam said the procedure was no longer required following the introduction of the biometric recording system by the Immigration Department. The system records the data of foreigners through the National Enforcement Registration System (NERS). Mahmood said NERS, which was introduced on June 1 last year, fulfilled the Tourism Ministry's requirement to record the data of foreign tourists to Malaysia.

  6. Hi all, wish to consult you guys on one matter, to cut a long story short. my !@#@!$ wife went to some kinda free facial trial, (didn't do in the end) then sweet talk, sweet talk sign this $2800 plan. i OT, so she went alone, if not i definately will not allow her to make such a hasty decision. Its not exactly malicious or bad-apple company, but due to certain medical condition, i think i should bring the leaflets of chemicals compounds used to my doctor to let him see if the facial chemicals might/will/should complicate existing conditions. and of cos, the sales person say, "can one, no problem one." whoever did sale b4 will know the convince-confuse-con rule. (sorry to sterotype) angry for 1) make decision never consult me (although she never say i pay) 2) make decision never research or think when there is existing medical reasons to be concerned 3) sales person to make a sale, might/might not lie but i do not want my wife to put herself to test if the products are ok. Called the Credit Card company last night cannot cancel/reverse/block. the most they can do is to "note" in their system. Will call the facial company to not process the trade, refund/reverse, although i think they won't but i will kpkb until they do it. Objective: a) get the reversal of CC charges b) bring the list of chemicals to my doctor to verify and if doc say ok, we will go back to the facial company, since wife think the facial is super good and very impt to do, don't do will die. Note: due to the medical condition, even the free trial was not administered, but instead sales person immediately move on to sell plan. Advice: what else do i need to do? Very (Dulan + concerned) worried man

  8. Dear forummers, appreciate if anyone can advise on above. i have only one phone which i use for work stuff, while my other home biz needs to have a separate line. rather than carry around two phones, i'd rather just slot in the pre-paid sim card for a while, divert all calls to my work phone and take it back out. will that work, and will the home biz callers be able to see the number its diverted to? Thanks

  11. I would like to know are there any ways to stop all the banks in spore to issue credit cards to some ppl? Why i ask this question is becoz my friend sis got a serious problem of abusive spending, she rack up over 90k of unpaid credit card bills within 2 yrs. First time is about 28k, second time 18k. End up my friend need to sell his house (they live together, co own the flat, parent no longer around) and use his saving to paid off the bill. He cancelled all her cards. However, she nv learn the lesson and her sis apply again and this time bills was sent to her office address so that my friend can't monitor her card usage and now the bill amt to 45k. Anyway i dunno how he gg to pay off this 45k, maybe sell house again. Hence i would like to know are there any ways to stop ppl from applying credit card juz like how we can stop family members from entering into casino. Thanks!

  13. ..got a call from the fraud dept this am from UOB that they detected a suspicious activity of purchase about $600+ from my card. They have blocked the card since. Actually, I realised when I went to pay petrol this am, and could not transact. There they told me, and thereafter I received a call from teh fraud dept. Folks, do be mindful of your CCs. Watch the credit limit and ensure that you do not give your no anyhow. I suspect my card no was phished. I do quite a bit of shopping for stuff. But kudos to UOB for their prompt and alertness. Card cancelled, but just received new card 2 mins ago. Be safe

  24. Wif so many dead bodies found lately, RadX muz be in the 42% growth segment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SINGAPORE: Latest figures from Credit Bureau Singapore (CBS) reveal that the high-end credit card segment has weathered economic downturn to expand by a third in the last two years. It's one of the fastest growing segments in the Singapore credit card market today. CBS figures show that the number of affluent cardholders in Singapore has expanded by 30 per cent from 2008 to 2010, and by 27 per cent from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, there were more than 23,000 affluent cardholders compared to just some 18,000 in 2009. These elite cardholders make up about 2 per cent of the credit card population. CBS used two criteria to define affluent cardholders: a total monthly credit card balance of S$10,000 or more, at least three times in the year; and full settlement of the balance immediately or by the next payment due date. CBS statistics also show that the wealthier the cardholder, the more rapid the growth of that cardholder segment. For instance, the big spenders with an average monthly card spend of more than S$40,000 grew by 44 per cent in 2010. Within the group with an average monthly balance of more than S$40,000, the super-affluent pie - cardholders who spent more than S$50,000 - shot up by 42 per cent, while the high spenders with a balance of S$44,000-50,000 grew by 48 per cent. CBS' study also threw light on the profile of these affluent cardholders: They are predominantly male, with females making up only 20 per cent of the elite group. The average age of an affluent cardholder is 46 years old. At 3.1, the affluent cardholder has a higher number of average banking relationships than the general population, which has 2.8 average credit card banking relationships. Mirroring the trend for mass market credit cardholders, affluent female cardholders are also less loyal than their male counterparts. They hold 3.7 banking relationships compared to the latter's 3. Responding to the findings, The credit bureau's executive director, William Lim, said the rise of the affluent cardholder segment is a result of the rapid growth of wealthy individuals in Singapore and the region in the last two years. It can also be attributed to banks pulling out all stops to court and serve this elite group with more creative credit card programmes and personalised services. The affluent and emerging affluent group thus represents strong growth potential for card issuers. - CNA/cc
