  4. Would changing to 802.11n router increase reliability and speed of 1mb connection My broadband speed is 1MB, I'm currently using this netgear G router. If I change to Asus RT-N56U Wireless Router, will I see improvement in speed and performance?
  5. If your are selling your car which is left with less than 1 year COE, the agent will usually take the car at paper value. If you are scrapping it yourself, you might get about $100 extra for the body value. If the car is relatively good, I am willing to buy over for personal use. I will pay you the paper value, plus the remaining road tax, plus a few hundred dollars - definitely slightly more if you sell to an agent or scrap yourself. I can do the transfer of the car from your name to my name. This will be a WIN WIN for both parties. If you are interested, please PM me details. Im not keen on cars that has more than 1 year COE left or less than 3 months COE left. Thank you.
  6. Today i notice only one of the fans are working when down to the workshop to check. mechanic say one of the fan motor spoiled and ask me to change 2 motors as the other one will spoiled soon.i told him to just changed the one that is spoiled . was quoted 180 for a aftermarket motor. strange the other one not spoil ask me change also. while changing it they also removed the radiator pipe connect to the engine. after changing, they top up abit of toyota premixed coolant into the radiator and reserve tank . i saw the radiator and tank was filled to the brim. after 1 hrs drive back home due to traffic jam. i pop the bonnet to check on the fans if they are working. I noticed the radiator reserve tank was empty!!! i wanted to check my radiator but the engine was still hot and dangerous to open . so i decided tomorrow morning when it is cold i will check my radiator. 1st question : can i top up my reserve tank with tap water? 2nd question: i wonder how come the radiator was full and the mechanic top up abit of premised coolant but when i reached home the reserve tank empty. any advice bros

  12. ...is a no no. If your workshop is still doing this, you are well advised to find another. And the reason is something called "Load Dump" Depending on certain conditions, a high voltage of up to 120V can be sent to your ECU. If it survived, you're lucky. If it's crippled or dead, oh well.. According to wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_dump In automotive electronics, it refers to the disconnection of the vehicle battery from the alternator while the battery is being charged. Due to such a disconnection of the battery, other loads connected to the alternator see a surge in power line. The peak voltage of this surge may be as high as 120 V and the surge may take up to 400 ms to decay.

  18. hi all, am looking to change my tyres 195/60/15. after looking through the forum, am considering the following: CPC5 AR10 XM2 looking at something that is reasonably good in wet and dry grip, noise lvl hopefully not too loud. 19. Hi guys, I have the following problem. Anyone happen to be able advise? I'm driving a 06 colt plus. Recently changed aircon coil and compressor. After that, noticed that my fan (only 1 fan in colt) relay clicks on/off loudly when the compressor cuts in/out. The weird thing is, my fan is already on whenever the aircon is on. I had gone back to the workshop and they told me its like that. Before this, I had never heard the fan relay click so loudly and feequently. Has any bros encountered this? is it possible that there's a wiring problem?
  20. Hi, I had my car making funny noise and my ws diagnose that I need to change the fan belt tensioner and pulley. That solved my problem but now I have another issue. Usually when I am stopping at the red light, my RPM s jumping up and down before it is stabilizing. I also noticed that the rpm also changing when I'm rotating my steering wheel. Anyone know what the problem might be? Is it related with the tensioner that I just changed?

  22. My friend wanted to change 200K+ worth of ringgit for his father medical fees. He dont feel comfortable bring in so much cash (dont think anyone would carry so much cash around even in SG), so, he intended changing ringgit at the bank and ask the bank to issue a cheque so that he could pass to his mother to deposit at Mal bank. Any idea which local bank sell ringgit? He check with POSB & DBS and found that the 2 doesnt sell ringgit ( I was quite surprise to hear that)....

  24. Here's how I changed the standard Honda Car Alarm Fob as shown in the picture. Mine's a Stream. I think it's the same for Civic, Jazz, City. Tools/Stuff Needed 1. 2.4mm Philip Screwdriver (from small screwdrivers sets commonly sold in home fix etc) 2. Replacement Battery - Energizer CR 1616. 3V. ($2.55 ea from NTUC, see picture) 3. Time <5mins to change Left to right A. Key Fob cover w/key; B. Key Fob cover; C. Electronics console battery holder ; D. console with buttons. E. top - screw; F. bottom - battery Steps. 1. Unscrew the screw securing the fob (E) 2. Pry open the Fob in two with a 5 cent coin using the indent (A + B) 3. Take out the electronic console (C+D) 4. Carefully pry open the 2 clasps holding the electronics console together. Taking care not to dislodge the rubber lining 5. Use a small flat screw driver to gently pry out the battery (original was Panasonic) 6. Replace the CR1616 with the new one with the positive end ( + ) facing down. Push it till click. 7. Close the console by securing the 2 clasps. 8. Test lock/unlock buttons and see if the LED light is lit. You can test to lock unlock your car if it's in range, it will work if properly done. 9. Place console in the fob cover with key 10. Close Cover 11. Screw the 2 cover together Additional steps, you may wish to clean the inside of the key cover. (I use photographic cleaning equipment - air spray, brush and tissue. No liquids) This whole process shouldn't take more than 5 mins (no cleaning). Hope this helps.
