  1. Moderate jam at Woodlands around 12.30am after a long day at Bkt Indah, notice the queue was not moving much, realise the customs are doing very thorough check on vehicles coming back, was following behind a Korean made black plate on the right hand side of the complex when the officer dugged out two 5litres plastic jelly cans. Suay gotta filter out from that lane cos he closed that lane and took the driver passport. Donno wat will be the consequences, fine? No picture cos custom buay sai hip xiong. Saw 4 to 5 Sg cars kanna hundred % check further up. Guess tonite will be another thorough nite for them.
  2. Today at 1:45pm, all cars were diverted to the lorry lanes for thorough checks although there were no jams. Thorough check by Police at first then proceed to scan passport and there were dedicated officers station outside and read out and see the faces of all people inside the car. What happended????? But this has to be the fastest time through checkpoint.
  3. Dear All, I would like to check does malaysia still practice the finger scan in the checkpoint? Is the jam or queue still that bad? I would like to drive in but have no idea do they still practice that? I have not been to malaysia for few years. Any bros/sis can advise me? thank you very much.
  4. Hi i usually use SLE to go from seletar to woodland checkpoint using the expressway, is there any real speed camera along the 10+km expressway? I travel at around 98km/hr there at night, but many taxi and other cars seems to zoom by at around 120km/h when there is speed camera sign along the sides. so question is, is there any real camera there at all?
  5. Date - 13 Aug 2011 Time - 1625h Place- Woodland causeway checkpoint Traffic flow- Heavy Matrix constantly keeps a very close distance to the front car (Honda City) even when stopping. Perhaps he did not want to give way to exiting vehicles cleared from checkpoint counter. Honda city notices the close-up of Matrix. As traffic is heavy, he come out of the car and give Matrix driver a friendly advice not to stay so close to him as the traffic flow is heavy and few merging and narrow lanes in the checkpoint. Matrix takes the advice, immediate reverse 1 footstep from City. Guess what? It takes the next 10 minutes for this 2 cars to reach the entrance of causeway bridge due to heavy traffic. When they jus approached the bridge, BANG . ..... Matrix hit rear city.... City: Hey! Didnt i told you 10 minutes ago not to stay so close to me???? Jus sharing what i saw and heard....
  6. Folks, Wana share something with you when crossing the causeway. Base on my recent 3 trips... 1) after crossing the spore checkpoint, if you think you want to jump queue by taking the bus lane, you better think twice!!! You will be asked to U-turn and start all over again. If you think you can cut queue earlier then you are wrong cos I think there is a cam somewhere and the officer will ask you to turn out and make a u-turn! If you think you can refuse to barge and continue to be in the queue, then the officer will take down your car plate. 2) after crossing the spore part( the bridge) if again you trying to cut queue by driving on the bus lane and try to cut in far ahead near to the divider, then be prepared to be asked to stop ( dun know they are summoning or asking for kopi $$) Again If you think you can cut queue earlier then you are wrong cos they seems like they have cam to monitor who cut queue. I saw it with my own eyes and so folks, better think twice if you wana cut queue.
  7. About 2 hours ago a few cars were caught queue-jumping along a 4-lanes road in JB. One white Toyota Corolla Altis was waved and told by first TP to leave the queue after he squeezed from Lane 2 into Lane 3. After leaving the queue, he tried behind the back of the first TP to squeeze back into the same queue. This time another TP behind the first TP wavered him aside and booked him and did not allowed him to go into Lane 3. The two Casinoes are in Singapore, not JB. I believe it is not wise to gamble that manner there
  8. Sorry noob question, tried searching but to no avail. All help appreciated. If I stay in woodlands, sembawang or yishun, wouldn't it be more worthwhile to cross the woodlands causeway than say 1 big round to the 2nd link??
  9. Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm just wonderring if anyone ever gotten summon for the above offence?? cos I've seen lately that alot of queue cutters.. Is the offence legit??
  10. Did u guys notice, especially those that use Woodlands Checkpoint. The hump is really in bad shape. ICA is doing nothing to replace the hump and as a result "nail" is sticking out like an eyesore!!!!! Sooner or later, gurantee 1-2 cars sure kena tyre puncture!!!!!!.
  11. ...for comforter. My gf and I wanted to give a set of bedsheet stuff (pillows, bedsheet, comforter, etc) to my gf's sister. Her sister and her bf ride a bike so they are unable to carry them home, instead we will deliver them to their home in my car. Anyway they decided to go JB pump petrol and makan supper, so we decided to go there with them, before coming back to SG to pass them the bedsheet stuff. At the JB custom, 2 officers ya ya, keep asking me what the stuff in the cars are. We told them its a set of bedsheet, comforter, and pillows to give away. One of them ask if they are expensive... I told them we got it for free and we are going to give it away. We even open the plastic bags to show them. He then said we have to pay TAX... he even ask the other guy if pillows need to be taxed. We told them we have no idea these things need to be taxed, and said we are going to bring them back to SG anyway, they can check again when we are back. They said, we will be coming back on another side, and they won't be there... we sort of have some ideas what they really want. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ What's ridiculous is that, they said we need to be taxed $60 but they discount me, ask me pay $50. I wanted to give them $20 since I don't want trouble, but my gf told the officers "we got no money, we dunno need to pay tax, so we just go back SG now lor, but how to u-turn back?" The officers then say... "er nvm, give u warning first, next time need to pay ya"... Then we just drove off. What a joke. Lok-kok car also they want to aim... times are really bad, I guess.
  12. Came back from malaysia last sunday. Before the secondary clearance, there is a board displaying all car numbers with the number of passengers in the car. A car in front of me caught my attention. His car number was highlighted in red whereas the rest including mine was in green. I thought something was amiss with that car liao. However nothing happen to that car leh? Anyone knows the significant of the red and green color? Red==white horse?
  13. wah seh..first time in my 10yrs of using the Tuas checkpoint i encounter such a heavy jam left my home at Hillview at 1730. Reached the customs complex at 2200hrs. the jam stretched back 2-3km before the customs complex proper.. to make it worse, there are still people cutting queue..but nearer to the flyover, auxilary police are on hand to prevent those queue cutter from cutting into the queue..so those f**kers LL gotta turn 1 big round again.. worse is, ICA only open 6 lanes for the car.. anyone caught in it? what has ICA's efficiency become?
  14. July 7, 2008 Click! Click! Click! Jump queue at checkpoint? Think again Within a week of camera going up, 137 motorists snapped crossing double white lines at Woodlands By Mavis Toh MOTORISTS who cut the snaking queues at the Woodlands Checkpoint will now be caught on camera. After repeated complaints from the public, the Traffic Police installed a surveillance camera on a lamp post along the viaduct towards the Woodlands Checkpoint from the Bukit Timah Expressway on June17. While queue-jumping per se is not a traffic offence, the roads where the cars line up to clear checks at the Causeway have double white lines and crossing them is banned. Within a week, the camera nabbed 137 errant motorists who crossed the double white lines in order to jump the line of cars heading to Malaysia. At this rate, the number of summonses issued to drivers who cross double white lines islandwide is set to double. Last year, 7,500 motorists were nabbed for this offence on all roads here. Going by the one-week figure, another 7,100 offenders a year will be snapped by the camera at the Causeway. This offence carries a maximum fine of $160 and four demerit points. Singaporeans who travel often to Malaysia using the Woodlands Checkpoint are just happy that something is being done to tackle the queue-cutting problem. Businessman Richard Loh was late for a meeting in Johor one recent Friday morning and spent 45 minutes inching his way forward in the queue when he had an unpleasant encounter. A red Honda drew up alongside him, cut into his path and got ahead of him in the queue. 'It's so frustrating when we dutifully queue up for hours, and inconsiderate drivers simply cut in.' Mr Loh, 47, said this is a scenario he faces without fail every time he heads to Johor Baru for his thrice-a-week meetings. Retiree Joseph Lim, 65, who drives to JB to play golf twice a week, said: 'One car cutting into my path won't delay me by very much, but it's a matter of principle. If most people can follow the rules, why can't everyone else?' Mr Joseph Kunjiraman, who drives to JB every other day, said: 'If you don't inch forward in three seconds, a driver will cut into the gap and jump queue. There's nothing much the rest of us can do.' The businessman wrote in to The Straits Times Forum in May, complaining about the increasing number of 'ungracious drivers' at the Causeway. These errant vehicles travel on the left lane designated for motorcycles, then encroach onto the path of other vehicles by cutting across a set of double white lines to enter the lane meant for cars. When The Straits Times visited the Woodlands Checkpoint, traffic was heavy - the queue was at least 600m long in the car lane on the viaduct. In 10 minutes, at least eight cars were spotted travelling on the motorcycle lane, bypassing the snaking car queue before cutting back in when they were nearing the immigration counters. Businessman Chan Weng Kei, 47, who drives up to Johor three times a week, said such tactics can save a driver up to 30 minutes in waiting time. 'These queue-cutters are opportunists and risk-takers,' he said. Motorists interviewed added that those unhappy with the queue-cutters sometimes sound their car horns or quickly shoot forward, refusing to let errant drivers cut in. These incidents usually result in ugly spats. Some motorists wanted the police to do more, like station officers along the double white lines. Others suggested building a divider between the motorcycle and car lanes. The police said they will continue to monitor the traffic situation at both the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints and may install more cameras if needed.

  16. With this limping man on the loose, the immigration at woodlands and tuas are on high alert, checking on every vehicle. Will tour coaches and buses get affected also?
  17. Was at the woodlands checkpoint, the custom officer was checking my friend's passport, suddenly he ask for IC..Is it a must to bring IC? I thought passport should be enough?
  18. just came back from JB and after pump petrol i was driving back to Msia customs when a swift (blue in color) drove super fast on my right... like 90km/hr or so...since i was behind him i saw him drive quite close to the msia custom office and immediately i thought it was a pretty rash driver... after i cleared msian customs i drove back to sg... then i saw a few cars had stopped a few meters away from the checkpoints even though it was a clear road...! when i drove nearer (i took the left most lane), i saw the swift had crashed and ended up sideways on the middle lane. the car front was dented pretty bad... seems like he drove too fast and wasnt sure which lane to take and took a late decision. luckily he was unhurt and could still get out of the car... his car was smashed on the front, side... and kept making a horn sound DRIVE SAFE GUYS
