Dear bros and lao jiaos, have having a problem that is driving me nuts. Basically, i am experiencing this knocking sound when i start my engine whe it is cold especially in the morning. I have went back to the mechanic and they have tightened the belt and lubricated the pulleys but problem persist and i think it is getting worst in terms of duration of the noise. It does goes away when the engine warms up but it comes back again once engine cools done. I have attached a short video clip which i have taken as it is hard for me to describe the sound. Hi guys, my auto gearbox tends to jerk during gear shifts. It is very obvious when moving off after cold start, especially for down-shifting. After engine warms up, it gets alot smoother. What could be wrong? I just serviced my car last month, and workshop did not say anything is wrong. Then again, I did not specifically ask them to check the gearbox.

Hi there fellow bros, Just service my car AC but still at certain time of the day , it's not blowing cold air on off and quite often in a day . Brought my car to nearby workshop and they suggested replacing the compressor which is going to cost me around $800+. Does anyone has similar experience as mine ??? Just wanna seek other alternative other than replacing the compressor . Thanks in advance ... Cheers

Well, I have a Toshiba system 3 and since yesterday, the masterbedroom unit blow only air, not cold at all... the rest of room still normal, blow cold air... so I don't think the problem lies with the compressor... anyone have such problem before? What could be the possible fault? Spoil sensor on the split unit?..... damn hot without air-conditioning...

Found my wife's Matrix exhaust badly rusted. Tried VHT paint but work only for a few months and the paint flakes....thinking to galvanise it using galvanising paint. Search from google for more details but found that there are different comment.. Some says cold galvanise doesnt work for exhaust because the zinc will melt beyond 700+ FH..... but the others says that it works very well and easily last for a few yrs... Wanted to check with expert in the forum on their comment before doing anything cause its a very tedious process for DIY preparation work scrub & sand off the existing paint and rust process)for spray paint....

My engine always die OFF when cold start no matter in morning or afternoon. As long as the engine rest more then 6~ 8 hrs, this problem always there since 1 years back. -Already done change of spark plug, fuel pump, oil change, clean carbuter,bigger battery etc. It since daily route to crank the engine twice before it stable. car: 2 year old only, old change 8k ~10k.

Dear Forummers, I am driving a Mazda 3, 2006 model with a mileage of 50k. Lately during morning start, occassionally there will be a weird sound; as if the engine is choked, unlike the standard engine noise. After turning it off and restart, it'll be normal again. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be? I've went to Mazda but couldnt locate the fault as it only occurs when the engine is cold. All views is appreciated. thanks

Hi everyone as above i believe many of us had heard its better to pump cold petrol early morning as petrol is more dense than when its hot....very logical right? But recently i started to pump petrol myself and i touch the metal part of the hose which connect to the nozzle and i can feel that its warm! i tried at another station and b4 i start pumping the metal part is cold and during pumping i again can feel the metal part is warm again So i suspect that petrol stations got some sort of equiment to warm the petrol and that in turn let them be more profitable by selling warm and less dense petrol to us What do u guys think? Maybe u guys can try pumping urself the next time and feel for urself? -
After cold start, my AUTO car's RPM drop and after a few seconds it started to vibrate, rpm went low and died. What could possibly be the reason?

Hey fellas, A quick check on shower habits. Which type of shower do U all had usually ? ie hot vs cold water regardless of weather On the health side, it is said that cold shower is good for health and hot shower is not recommended as our water had chlorine in it and the vapour from hot shower is harmful to us when we inhale it.

A myth or truth? I have heard bathing in cold water improves the body immune system but I am abit skeptical abt it. what do you think?

Hi bros, anyone got effective solution for this problem. belt adjustment is fine. only problem it squeaks when first started when cold-idling. sound disappears when engine is warmed up or while driving. very certain its from the belt cos as i dripped some water on it the sound disappeared for a while. is there any type of grease/fluid for belts? and where can i get it? Thks!

guys, i need advise, for the past 3 days, whenever i cold start my vios, RPM will be erratic. normally, it will rev till approx 1.8k to warm the engine oil and will slowly reduce RPM once it is sufficiently warmed approx 2 mins. now, it is NOT reving when i start it and it will be slowly reving upwards approx 100rpm at a time, and all of sudden shoot to 2k and come down abruptly. meaning to say that the engine is reving it heart out and idling almost at the same time. any one know what is wrong with it. thanks in advance

every morning when i go to work, i start my engine, my engine will roar to life like it going to burst. then my rpm will dance from 800 to 1500 then to 1200 then back to 800, for like 10 sec. anything wrong?

My car's engine shudders when start up in the morning. The shuddering can be felt through the steering wheel and it is not a continuous shudder but an irregular beat every 2 to 3 seconds. This symptom was already felt when the car was new but as the car ages, the effect is just more pronounced. After the engine's water temp is at operating range, the symptom disappeared. Changed the spark plugs and the problem was still there. Need to gather ideas on what could be the other components e.g. sensors, idle up valve etc contributing to this problem before I bring it into the workshop. Thanks everyone.

how does it affect driveablitiy? sometimes on a hot day my car like sluggish... not sure if it is because of the spark plug cannot dissipate heat fast enough

Hi Bro, Recently encountered weak cranking during cold startup. Initially thought weak battery but workshop tested that it has 100% charge. However, during the cranking, they tested that voltage changed from 12V to 6V. They serviced the starter motor but still the problem persist. Any bro here can advise what could be the real cause and appropriate measures to diagnose? Warm startup is okay only cold startup.

Had this problem for a while Topped up air con gas, didnt work Cold when gas pedal is depressed, and there is some sort of "spooling" or "fan spinning" sound before cold air comes in; also cold when on cruise control Else, when stationary, it's warm air Anyone can point me in the right direction? thanx
