Hi, have the above prob on a 2yr old colt plus. 40k mileage. Initial dianogsis is the aircon clutch (magnet plate) spoiled. Was quoted $470 by a aircon shop in woodlands to replace a new one. Currently working intermittently. Gotta on/off again if its not cutting in/out properly. Has anyone come across this before? And if the quoted price is reasonable? If not, any other places where i can get it done at a better price? Any advise appreciated! -
Hi people, I drive a 2.3l Cefiro (aound 4 years old 35000km) and I am noticed since yesterday that when I start my car after like 8+ hours of inactivity, the engine sounds very different, much louder wheezing sound. It goes off after 3-5 mins. Thinking of sending it down for checks on monday but just checking here if there is a simple fix that I can do. I have checked the engine oil and it looks ok. anything else I should check? I really don't know anything about cars. thanks for any help

I have just topped up my air-con gas a few months back and the air-con is not cold again (so soon?). I suspect there might be a leakage somewhere. Do you know of any good/honest shop (in the west) which could help me trouble-shoot? The compressor seems to be working fine, except that it is now blowing warm air. What could be the likely cause? What is the price range I would expect for the trouble-shooting as well as possible repair? Thanks. -
My current LG 2 door fridge is about 3 years old. The frozen side is currently not cold even though set at cold. Is it due to the gas inside the compressor has finished or other faults? Any contact to repair it and how much roughly? Thanks.

Hiya all... Was servicing my car@Pandan Garden today & one the mechanics explained to me this: (a) Swift's aircon is controlled by 2 different air valves - one hot & the other cold. (b) The aircon merely controls the size of the 2 valves i.e., max cold temp = the hot air valve is completely closed & the cold air valve is completely open. © Even when the cold air valve is completely closed i.e., the hottest temp setting, the air-con is still draining the same amount of power from the car. (d) So changing the temp setting of aircon will not affect the FC; only on/off the aircon will the FC be affected. (e) Also, best set the aircon@cold i.e., the blue zone - the reason given is that@white colour temp zone(the middle temp setting), hot air from the engine will also be force(??) into the car@high rev, hence the hot air blowing@high rev - by setting@the blue zone, the hot air valve will be completely closed, & no sudden hot air gushing into the car@high revs. (f) one last thing from him - I cannot upgrade my current air con into automatic climate control, as it will be against LTA regulations. So are points (a) to (f) true? Thanks for reading through!

while the car is on the move,the air con is fine.but when stationary it bcum no cold.tinking of changing the expansion valve and the filter (the one in the engine bay).wonder if it will help?

Dear All, Has any of you encountered this before? When my car came to a stop in a traffic jam, after a few minute or so, the air-con became not cold and started blowing hot air if car was not moving. However, when car moves, it started to turn cold again. Could it be the air-con fan is not functioning properly when car come to a halt? Any advice or suggestion as to what to check?

Guys.. i was flipping WheelsAsia, and i came across this advert about cold air intake. It claims to improve your power or whatever s h i t lah.. But.. Is it really true? Cause Cefiro consumption is ALMOST killing us lah! Of course my mom can live with it.. but i want the car to have more power.. and maybe 9km/l would be nice? Anyway.. if Cold air intake really helps the engine perform better.. would there be better fc figures? And how much? Sorry i know i may be abit weird to ask about CAI... But.. I just need info and everything i know so i can go pester my dad and mom.. Maybe for latio and also cefiro. Thanks man !

Hi, Just got my new Altis but got a little problem. The air-con is abit too cold for our liking, even at 27-28 degrees. Even when we push the vents away, still somehow can feel the "wind" blowing directly at us. During rain, the windows fog up easily even with the heater on. Any Altis owners out there, can advise? Thanks.

this mornin to work my car aircon still cold, but evening drivin back home the aircon becomes not cold even though the air is still blowing, but simply not cold. any idea wats happenin. isit any serious problem or just need to top up refrigerant gas can liao.

My car is only over 1 year old. (Hyundai Accent) Cold scale from 1 to 10(coldest) Stock (Cold 8) added Super fuelmax. (cold 8) (day 1) Then COOL grounded my car, more powerful and the aircon colder. (cold 9)(day 2) added K & N filter (cold 9) (day5) change original Champion plugs to NGK (cold 9) (day 10) added STP Complete fuel system cleaner, the silver color one on a half tank of shell 98 and top-up full (cold 9) (day 15) day 18 - cold 7 - got some wet, moist smell now improvement mileage and still got half tank with STP. I park in sheltered car park all the time. Any experts care to diagnose what is causing this downgrade of the aircon? Is it permanet? What can I do to improve it? Thanks a million.

Noticed that during hot weather, the climatronic fan speed is very high but the air is still not very cool. Car is coming into its fourth year and I've already changed the compressor. Is there anything else that needs to be done, short of changing the car ?

Hi guys, got a little problem with the air conditioning of my car. During a hot day esp, the car's air conditioning isn't very cold. However during at nights or when there's no sun, the air con is rather cold. So whats the problem here? Does the air con need regassing? Or are there other problems with it?

What do you guys think? Too hot, too cold, or just nice? This Splitfire plug i have, is the same heat range as IK20.

Hi The recommended tyre pressure for my car is 220psi. I believe that this is the pressure when the wheel is cold. However, the wheels are normally warm when I pump the tyres. Therefore, pumping in 220psi when the wheels are warm may not be equal to 220psi (in fact lesser right?) when they are cold. What is the pressure difference could it be? Is there a rule of thumb method to compensate for the difference in the temperature when pumping the tyres? Or the difference is so little that we don't have to bother... ;-p
