  1. Calling out to the tyre experts... I realized this morning that there are white nylon threads showing through my left front tyre near the edge... the strange thing is that this tyre shows a lot more wear on the edge ("shoulder" part of the tyre, see pics attached) than the other 3 tyres... and these tyres only have 18000KM on them... do I need to change the tyre immediately? Or change all 4?

  7. Ok! the gauntlet is thrown down! From the other thread, it seems there are many 'HONEST' used car dealers out there. As with all things, there must be a BALANCE! Thus, as there is a BLACKLIST on used car dealers, this would be your WHITELIST! I am starting this thread so that: 1. We can know the good ones, and for that matter, their name does and should not appear in the black list 2. MCFers know who to go to and get an honest deal with no nonsense 3. Build and possibly generate interest and revenue for the good ones, and their repute builds! I challenge those who mentioned they are honest to first state their claim. Along the way, their name should REMAIN in good standing and that will be proof of the pudding. This is a win-win and we can attest and thus see the real decorum of the industry! Disclaimer: I maintain tht and will still remain that the industry is filled with crooks, and it is my personal bias and nothing to do with me being a mod or not! In short, the only honest used car dealer to me, is a dead one!

  16. Transsexual man jailed for oral sex with boy, 15 A TRANSSEXUAL shop assistant has been jailed for 15 months after luring a 15-year-old customer, who went to buy pancakes, into having oral sex. The victim, a student, had been playing computer games at home when he felt peckish and went to a 7-Eleven store to buy a snack at around 2am on Jan 8, 2011. He struck up a conversation with Tan Yeong Perng, believing him to be a woman as the then 34-year-old store assistant and cashier had long hair and wore make-up. Tan, now 36, had breast implants done years earlier in Thailand. He has a sexual preference for men and cross-dresses as a woman, a district court heard. The shop assistant asked the victim for his name, age and where he lived. The teenager claimed he was 16 and lived near Ang Mo Kio. While the student waited for his pancakes to be prepared, Tan went to the toilet to touch up his make-up. When the shop assistant came out, he led the victim to the storeroom and started kissing him. Tan pulled off the boy's shorts and committed the obscene act. The teenager's legs accidentally brushed against Tan's groin and he became suspicious. To confirm his suspicion, he touched Tan's groin - and discovered that the shop assistant was a man. In a state of panic and shock, he tried to pull away from Tan and felt the latter's teeth on his private parts. Eventually, the victim managed to get away and left. When he got home, his mother noticed that he immediately went to take a shower. She also found it odd that he then lit some joss sticks to pray at the altar. Asked what was wrong, he cried and told her what had happened. She called the police. Yesterday, District Judge Soh Tze Bian backdated Tan's sentence to Oct 30 last year after he had admitted to abusing the victim. Deputy Public Prosecutor Kavita Uthrapathy had asked for a jail sentence of at least 14 months, given the aggravating factors: Tan was a good 19 years older than the victim; they were strangers and he took advantage of the teenager. "Needless to say, the victim is traumatised by the incident," she said. Tan had a charge of molesting another teenager at another outlet taken into consideration. The shop assistant, who said he was sexually abused when he was a child, was found by the Institute of Mental Health to be suffering from alcohol dependence. He could have been jailed for up to 10 years and fined for sexually abusing the teenager. [email protected] the bolded part sibe funny.... [:p]
  17. PUB will be giving tarrif to electricty charges for the next 3 month due to lower crude oil price. Have not seen any petrol pump price went down if crude oil had fallen ..... Just pump on New Year's day for 95 Octane at $2.09 per liter. Thats before credit card discount. Although got 17% discount for using certain credit card, shouldn't pump price be lowered for the past months....

  22. Hi, I am overwhelmed by the different type/brands/price of car seats. Alot of questions and hope the you can share your experiences here and make this thread for sharing and discussion. My questions: 1) Your new born baby after delivery, from hospital to home, did you use car seats? Or did you hand carrry? Which is better? Which is safer? Are car seats suitable for newborns? 2) Did you use car seats from new born already? Or u start using car seats only after 1,2,3 months old? 3) Do you get dedicated infant seat (those type with handle for carrying for 0-9months), then upgrade to child seat when they older, or did you buy those convertible ones that can from 0-4years old? What are the pros and cons? 4) Which brand/model/price you got and is it good or bad? Your reviews please. Thanks.
