  1. In my younger & ignorant days when news of such appears I would have said "ho sei liao hoot ah!!". (I have no doubt that the Israelis are capable of carrying out the threat and will do it alone if they cannot even get the tacit approval by the US, their main ally) Nowadays when there is any potential conflict especially in that region, what will likely happen is oil prices hitting stratospheric levels causing world economy to suffer, including our little red dot. Just hope cooler minds will prevail and they will do away all the sabre rattlings to thrash things out calmly. From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1183893/1/.html Israel will make own decision on Iran, says army chief Posted: 19 February 2012 0643 hrs
  2. Today, I encountered a strange problem. The car suddenly revving between 1000rpm to 2000rpm. I was not stepping of the accelerator. Even when the gear is put to P or N, the needle went up and down. When reaching traffic light, I needed to step hardware in order to brake. Anyone encounter such an issue before?

  4. Fellow bros, I'm current driving an avante. Just went for servicing on sat n I did the following. Basic servicing(engine oil and filter changed) Coolant changed Brake oil changed Spark plug replaced Atf oil changed After the servicing, drove out wif family to spend our weekend. Sun went JB n as usual stuck in the jam as well. Mon when I checked the car, found out that the coolant in the secondary tank dropped closed to half. Opened up the radiator and found the coolant level Oso dropped. So I top up wif water for both side and drove off... For the next 2 days, the level at the radiator dropped but the level at the secondary tank remains the same. So I drove bk to the ws today. They tested and jacked up the car n no leakage was found. They came to a conclusion that during the time when they topped up the coolant, it's actually not full yet so the level will tends to drop and it will stablised once the coolant is really full.... I've decided to take a few more days to monitor, but is there any truth in wat they said? Considering the fact that during the weekend I've drove a lot and the coolant shld haf stablised till then...

  6. As we see the yo yo situation, just taking a poll on your gut feel and why you say that. For me, this week, the lowest for STI was 2740. I believe it will move up slightly but still not go to 2900 range as China still iffy. Technical recession for 90% sure and the rate hike is almost certain...

  8. This question was raised 2 hours ago during my lunch time: how to properly shut down a car engine (automatic transmission only). I am pretty sure a lot of us do this: 1. Stop the car in your parking lot. 2. Push the gear to Parking mode (P). 3. Pull the hand brake. 4. Turn off ignition. 5. Remove keys. A few of my colleagues had different procedures, which they claim they heard from their friends that this will prolong the lifespan of their gearbox: 1. Stop the car in your parking lot. 2. Pull hand brake. 3. Put gear to Neutral (N). 4. Turn off ignition. 5. Push gear to Parking mode (P). 6. Remove keys. Which method is the correct one?

  13. Oil prices fell in Asia Wednesday following a three-day rally as dealers were divided on whether the commodity has bottomed out after a plunge of nearly 60% since June, analysts said. US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for March delivery fell 94 cents to US$52.11 (RM185.73) while Brent crude for March eased 47 cents to US$57.44 in mid-morning trade. WTI soared US$3.48 to US$53.05 Tuesday, its highest close since December 31, while Brent jumped US$3.16 to US$57.91, its best reading since December 30, as dealers cheered signs that the oil industry is tightening exploration activities to cap a supply glut. Ken Hasegawa, an energy trading manager at Newedge Group in Tokyo, said the crude market was "extremely volatile" after the three-day rally that began Friday saw prices surge nearly 20%. "It has become increasingly difficult to discern the direction of the prices of crude oil, but the fundamentals remain unchanged," Hasegawa told AFP. He added that prices could "fluctuate by increasing up to US$10 and falling up to US$10" in the short term. Deep cuts in capital spending by major oil companies, including new announcements Tuesday by BP and BG Group, had suggested there would be tighter supplies in the future. Last week, The Baker Hughes North America rig count report for the week to January 30 showed a drop of 128 rigs to 1,937. That compared with 2,393 a year ago. Some analysts however remain doubtful that the current oil price rebound will be sustained as supplies still outweigh demand in the immediate term. The oil market has lost more than half its value since June, when crude cost more than US$100 a barrel, largely due to a surge in global reserves boosted by robust US shale oil production. The problem was exacerbated in November after the Opec cartel insisted that it would maintain output levels despite plunging prices. The 12-nation group pumps about 30% of global crude. – AFP, February 4, 2015.

  15. Hi I noticed that when i drive early in the morning, the air is good and the surrounding is cool. therefore, i can off the aircon and enjoy natural air while saving fuel. But what is the most effective way? To consider: 1) Wind resistance (more windows open = more drag? ) 2) Safety (driver side opening fully is dangerous on the expressway? ) 3) Dirty interior due to road dust/dirt sticking on leather I also notice that opening half full will cause the window pane to vibrate at speeds of 80km/hr. Will there be risk of it breaking? Pls vote!
  16. http://theconversation.com/smug-couples-patronise-singles-to-feel-better-about-themselves-21770 An interesting read. Lately I have been meeting up with old friends and I start to feel pissed off when our conversation focussed on my weight and singlehood. I mean like. If I am fat, what is TT to you and if I am single, tts my choice. Sometimes the focus is so much until I dun feel like talking anymore...... Like there is no other topic. Any Bros here have any similar experience ? How do you handle it? For me. I simply learn to choose my friends better.
  17. After so many years and even last memory celebration, the stadium is coming to an end in October ........ Up and coming is a new Sport Hub....... CNA news: Sports Hub to open by April 2014 After being stalled for nearly two years due to the global financial downturn, the Sports Hub project will finally kick into gear. On Wednesday, the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) signed the contract with the Singapore Sports Hub Consortium to design, build, finance and operate the Sports Hub for the next 25 years on a 35-hectare site in Kallang. Demolition of the National Stadium, which sits on the site, will begin in October, and the new facility will open its doors by April 2014. Should they had done it 2 years ago, this could be the YOG venue .....
