  1. I guess there aren't many out there who would modify their car. Many are happy with their stock cars, most don't even change their stock HU. My friends thought I crazy about cars after seeing some of my very very mild mods. I am the only one out of >10 close drivers friends who modded. Wonder if MCFers are poisoned? Feel free to list what you have done. Don
  2. OK own up! Who have fallen asleep or fought against falling asleep at the wheel? This is a problem and I myself have sometimes encountered this. I point all you sleep drivers to this: http://www.sleepfoundation.org/hottopics/index.php?secid=10 Check out the articles and prevent accidents.
  3. Posted: Mon Jun 13, 2005 10:03 pm Post subject: dangerous driving(mods, pls do not erase!) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know that I shouldn't be posting this article but I tot what had happened was really dangerous and it could happen to anyone of you here so I tot I might just share.Pls do not flame me for this. Thx I was driving on TPE on the way back home with my BB and wife.I was on the extreme right lane.I decided to keep to the middle lane.As I was change lane, this black ES5(SFF41**K) with tinted front & rear lights came behind me,quite close. Then this driver overtook me dangerously by the left, when the distance between me & the vehicle in front was very small but this driver still managed to swerve in and squeezed thru...in short, geh geh lai! I later discovered that she was a lady driver after she exited the sengkang exit Let me inform you that you if you think that I am racing with you or whatsoever, you are wrong. What you did was wrong, not gung ho or heroic.do you know that my bb is in the car?I think you if you want to d**,do not look for me.Go elsewhere. If you think that your driving very pro,i am sorry but i think its reckless.I shall see how long your driving habit can carry on. I seriously do not understand why must such things happen when the same make & model meet each other on the road. I encountered a blue SFC ES5 oso in Tampines. When he saw me,it's was like instant attraction, just like a magnet...He just came behind me and tried to stay close..... I really dunno why.Can any bros enlighten me on this?
  4. Hi there, After months of searching, I finally settled for a colt plus. Anyone out there with any idea on these areas: 1. What to look out for when collecting car?? (probably in 2 weeks time) 2. What interesting modifications to share? 3. Performance, comfort and driving such as sport mode, etc. Thanks for sharing, man!
  5. How do i go about test driving?gif them a call 2 say i wan 2 test drive or simply go down personally?

  8. Gotten my Aveo (A) sedan on 13th night and have been driving for the past 2 days. Good: Handling and cruising speed, Finishing both interior/ Exterior Bad: Pick up, very heavy and slow. Surprise that they gave Blaupunkt CD Player, thought it will be a no-name brand. Unfortunately i am looking for MP3 CD player (that's why didnt choose their 5 disc changer). Dont know whether can the existing Altanta CD34 can add on a MP3 CD slot... so far so good... p/s met another Aveo sedan driver in my car park, he got his car this Jan, intro him to this site...
  9. my personal experience to share: had a little accident with a kerb at ~60km/h while driving to my parents place. i was feeling sleepy throughout the whole journey, while driving on right lane with no cars around. there was a slight bend, my mind switched off momentarily and the next thing i knew, BANG!. i was jolted wide awake, and when i reached parent's place, i inspected the right side of the car and the rims were badly scratched. luckily i was alone and i didnt bang against any other car or persons at the impact, my right ear was jarred and my right arm felt slightly numb. heh moral of the story: sleepy drivers should either stop driving for awhile and rest or stay away from the road.
  10. 11. Thanks to bro LordAlfa for supplying the link. Throttling is more important in racing.
  12. I've been driving for 10+ years and still hold a valid Australian licence but I have been in SG for over 12 months now so I can't go for the conversion. Question is, what do I now need to do? I understand I need the Basic Theory Test and then can I apply immediately for the driving test? I don't need any lessons, just need a car on the test day itself, are there individuals or companies who rent cars out just for testing? Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
  13. just kena summon for drivin in bus lane. fine 130 n 4 demerit points. actually the registered owner of my car is my uncle n i'm always the one driving it as using his name the insurance is lower/ just received the summon, requestin mi to submit whether is my uncle drivin or other pple driving so tat TP can sen mi the summon letter. just like to find out if i use my uncle licence to demerit 4 points, as he dun drive, will it affect the NCB for the insurance??? or just use my own licence to deduct 4 points as tat NCB stil intact. but i'm the one driving everyday, so points quite important. can someone plse advise. thks
  14. Just recall this event and want to share it with all. Few years ago, i took a cab home 1 night and the friendly uncle was chatting away with me. The topic somehow become one of driving skills. He was telling me many people don't know how to drive. I was thinking yeah right! He proceeded to tell me the ABC of driving. Acceleration, Brake and Clutch. yeah corny. He was telling me many people know how to use them but not effectively and cannot anticipate traffic condition etc. He proceeded on giving me lessons to use them (forgotten liao) His ride was pretty smooth that's all I remember. He move slower than usual maybe 60-70kmh. When I reach my destination, it was about 16km journey, I proceeded to pay about the usual fare and thank the cabby for sharing. maybe he sense I don't really believe me coz he ask me to touch the bonnet. The damned piece of metal feel cold like the car was never driven. I mean i have driven the same distance at night but there's always some heat. Is this really a feat or he has some monster cooling system?
  15. Just wanna ask you guys how you feel about driving into malaysia despite nummerous issues about cars being stolen in Malaysia. What kinda safety precautions or anti-theft actions you adopt.
  16. Hi, I am thinking of getting Aveo auto ? What is the fuel consumption for Aveo Auto ? How's the power ? Any comments on the Aveo auto ? Thanks!!
  17. Just curious anybody ever got caught driving on Bus Lane during peak hours? Was driving into the office this morning on Tanglin Road towards Orchard direction (1-way street) and need to filter left getting to Scotts Road. Time-check 0900 hrs. When approaching nearer to the Thailand Embassy, saw this guy in WHITE uniform standing outside the embassy drive-way taking down car plate # traveling on the bus lane. But at that time no bus using the lane. He dressed much like those officer working at Bus Interchange and had his bike (White YAMAHA RXZ) next to him. What on earth is he doing? Siao Liao..., but...but...I... O-Sh*t. .
  18. "Hi to ignis lovers, I believe most ignis drivers should have the same experience as me, driving this car is fun but the only setback was how come the gear shifting is like driving lorry. I have check around with other models of same make and their encounters are fine, quiet gear shifting experience. I have once raise this question to CM service advisor and answer was is like tat noisy can't do much the gear box is supported by a few wire so more cloggy.?? ** When I first test drive the car, it seems to be more smooth in transmission. Any brothers/sisters out there encounters the same or worse situation and happens to know a solution to solve it." http://www.suzukiclubsingapore.com/forum/v...opic.php?t=1190 Haha... I alway told my fren that i driving a pick up. Anyone know anyway to reduce the noise?

  20. Wah liao.. Previous few tanks that I got only 8+km/l, it was 70% city driving. Home to work and to town. Only about 30% on highway, and is during peak hours. Over the weekend, 1 tank and the current 1/4 tank : the FC seems to be about 10+km/l . and So far, is 30% city, 70% highway. Like from Jurong to Punggol, and back, and to Tuas, etc... I am using Auto. city driving that bad ah... And I am consciously being lightfooted already. And for a while, I thought it was the engine that is drinking like hell...
  21. Don't know if this is normal but I can hear a tick tick sound coming from the undercarriage when I park my car and stop it after driving for sometime. Is this due to thermal expansion or contraction?
  22. Taken from toyota forum.... esp for bro/sis using mineral oil/having shorter oil chg interval you might want to stock up a few pieces. This is about the best Toyota Denso oil filter (made in japan) you can buy for your corolla. It uses the yellow foam filtering media which I believe gives superior filtering compared to the paper element ones. http://www.nbt-brunei.com/part/knowledge/oil_filter/ The problem is that the Toyota Stockist are no longer bringing in the made in japan filters. To cut costs, they are bringing in the made in thailand 90915-YZZE series which are all paper element type.
  23. This is not a joke, it really happens on the coastal road on the East of MY, the car was slightly damaged
  24. I just returned yesterday and I just finished washing my car plus some minor touches with the instant detailer. This is what I found out: 1. You get more insect collisions in Malaysia. Especially when someone is burning stuff in a kampung and the insects come flying out to breathe. Splat! Also happens in forested areas. I drove along Highway 3 and not on the E2. This explains why. I discovered the impacts when I was washing the car. Yes, they are hard to remove like bird poop. Didn't have the chance to wash the car after every long trip on the highway so the wash up will be a nightmare. 2. Avoid cow dung on the road. At least don't run over them with your tires. Swerve to the side or let them pass underneath. If you run over them with your tires. Splat, splat, splat..... Cow dung thrown up and splattered all over the car. Detailing nightmare that is Freddy Kruger standard. 3. Aerial bombardments from birds happens in high speeds. The collateral damage is great! The splatter impact blasts the bird poop in a wide area! Depends on how many hits you have. I had one going to Mersing from Desaru. The water and tissue was put to good use. Same as stationary bird poop but bigger area to clean up. FYI the driver's side mirror took the hit, the splatter washed onto my sidelight and to the rear sidelight as well. 4. Sunblock are difficult to remove. Yeah the UV protection will be great but you will introduce scratches. Titanium oxide and zinc oxide is used in sunblock and they are abrasive. It has an oily base and the car shampoo will find it hard to remove it. I dabbed a bit of undiluted conc. car shampoo to do the job. 5. Beach sand is difficult to remove from the interior. Even with the vac service at Yew Tee EssoMobil. Some sand is still in there. Sand is abrasive to the carpet. A brush will help on the leather seats.
