  1. The guy in the video thought his actions would go undetected but the video has been going round on the web since yesterday. Morale if the story: With most cars having car cam on board, do something stupid, better prepare to have your face seen all over the world. Hahaha https://www.tiktok.com/@taypa4227/video/7038289851099303214?is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&q=taypay4227&t=1638974319347&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6937337549375636998 So it started with the guy securing the tree on his car, keeping himself out of the driver seat, then he try to gain assess through the boot and... 2. On and off, we will come across news, photo or video footage of driver(s) performing stupid stunt / act with their ride(s). Let me start off with these 3 cases reported recently (overseas). Autonomous car from Ford? Not yet... Residents of Arlington, Virginia, were stunned to see an unmarked, gray Ford Transit van tooling around town without a human driver behind the wheel. According to ARLnow, the vehicle was spotted driving through the Courthouse and Clarendon neighborhoods with nary a soul in the driver’s seat. Some speculated the van was part of Virginia Tech’s recently approved autonomous driving tests... ... A few days later, NBC 4’s transportation reporter Adam Tuss spied the driverless van again at a stop sign. And when he approached, Tuss noticed the driver’s “seat” had two hands and legs sticking out from it. Tuss tried to get the costumed driver to talk, but they sped off, running a red light in the process. A Cage to Protect Your Rolls-Royce, Will it Work? A rich guy buys $645,000 (Australian dollars) Rolls-Royce a few weeks ago, and then decides the parking structure of the luxury apartment building just wasn’t secure enough to safeguard his Roller. The Rolls owner had a custom cage built surrounding his parking space to protect the Rolls-Royce, sort of like how you’d protect a $500,000 labradoodle. Unfortunately, that very cage, built with the sole purpose to protect the car, also proved to be what caused a good amount of damage to the car, since the owner soon found that navigating in and out of the cage was a challenge beyond his skills, and ended up driving into one of the cage’s support poles and walls, causing a surprising amount of damage to the car. The steering was damaged along with a good bit of bodywork on the side and rear, plus the loss of a marker light that probably costs more than most of the objects you and I interact with every day. Ouch... ... Lessons learnt: Cars aren’t meant to be kept in cages. Especially if you’re pretty shitty at parking as it is. Porsche Pay For Owners Sunglasses? Lawsuits and settlements are usually pretty straight forward but one involving Porsche is anything but normal. A class action lawsuit has resulted in the company being held responsible for compensating owners for sunglasses - yes, sunglasses. According to the settlement, customers who purchased or leased any Porsche model between 2007–2016 are eligible to make a claim. However, the vehicle must have been equipped with a Cognac, Luxor Beige, Natural Brown, Platinum Grey, or Sand Beige dashboard. If you're one of the handful of Porsche owners who fit that description, you could receive up to $175 in compensation. Affected owners can check out DashboardGlareClassAction.com for more information but claims for sunglasses need to be submitted by September 21st. Customers who made other modifications to reduce the glare coming off their dashboards will have until June 25th of next year to submit a claim. The whole issue sounds ridiculous but the original lawsuit claimed the glare was a safety issue. Porsche objected to this notion but eventually decided a lengthy court battle wasn't worth the effort. In case you were wonder, the lawyers for the plaintiffs will apparently receive $790,000 in attorneys’ fees and $50,000 for expenses. That should be more than enough to buy a few Porsches and their own pair of sunglasses. Penny wise, pound foolish??
  3. They are really really dumb. http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/two-men-jailed-roles-counterfeit-money-scheme SINGAPORE — Two men were today (Feb 3) jailed three years each by the district court for their roles in a counterfeit money scheme. They are the final two to be sentenced, following four others who have already been dealt with. Odd-job workers Adi Soffian Bakhtiar Effendi and Fauzi Mohammad — both 22 years old — admitted to being accomplices in the scheme to forge and use 24 fake S$1,000 notes. The scheme was hatched by Abdul Adziz Asmon, then an operations assistant with marine service agency Nautical Trade, who was eventually jailed six years and seven months in October last year. The court heard that in 2012, the six involved in the scheme tried to create the fake notes using a scanner, transparencies, paper and eggs. The egg white was spread onto the counterfeit notes to give them a crisp texture, mimicking that of real Singapore currency. The tasks were divided among the six involved. As for the pair sentenced today, Adi scanned the genuine currency notes and printed the counterfeit ones, while Fauzi used a paper cutter to cut the fake notes to the correct size. The notes were forged at a chalet in Costa Sands Resort at Jalan Loyang Besar. The crime was discovered when Abdul Aziz used the fakes when handing S$30,000 to a supplier, who eventually called Nautical Trade to complain. The pair could have been jailed up to 20 years and fined for the offences. CHANNEL NEWSASIA

  6. Anyone read this? Come on, getting into a stranger's car just for a free ride?? She got more than a free ride, kenna robbed and raped. And a Proton Savvy?? At least a Toyota ma. SINGAPORE - A 34-year-old woman who had trouble getting a taxi at 5am got into the car of a stranger who offered to drive her further up the road. But she claimed the "good Samaritan" raped and robbed her before kicking her out of his car after he had his way with her. On Monday, 24-year-old storeman Haliffie Mamat stood trial in the High Court for raping the woman in his Proton Savvy along Kallang Bahru on May 4, 2013, and robbing her of her brand-name handbag and the items inside. He denies raping her and disputes the contents of her bag. The prosecution has lined up 40 witnesses to prove its case against Haliffie in a trial scheduled for eight days. Deputy Public Prosecutor Sellakumaran told the court that the victim, who cannot be named under a gag order, waited for about an hour along River Valley Road when Haliffie stopped his car and offered to drive her somewhere else where it was supposedly easier to get a taxi. After she got into the front passenger seat, Haliffie offered to send her home. She dozed off in the car and when she woke up, the car had stopped. The DPP said the evidence will show that Haliffie stopped the woman from alighting, threw her handbag to the backseat and raped her after a struggle. After the rape, Haliffie drove off for a short distance, stopped the car, opened the door on her side and kicked her out to the road. He then drove off with her bag. The stranded woman got into a taxi and told the cabby that she had been raped. The cabby and a friend he subsequently picked up nearby will testify about that the woman had asked to go to the police station, said the DPP. Police officers on duty at the Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre will also testify that the woman could not walk properly and was visibly injured when she told them she had been raped. Haliffie was nabbed when he sold a mobile phone that was in her bag. The prosecution will also lead medical evidence on her injuries and that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her ordeal.
  7. Kayaking at Sungi Buloh Reserve where there's crocodiles? Still dangled his feet in the water? Come on! SINGAPORE - Nature photographers, who were expecting birds, otters or even crocodiles on an outing to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, were surprised to spot people instead on a leisurely kayaking trip. Canoes and kayaks are not allowed in the nature reserve, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Mr Ben Lee, founder of Nature Trekkers, said he saw a couple and a young child kayaking in the reserve on Sunday. The avid nature guide and photographer was conducting a photography session there when he saw the trio row into the reserve in the afternoon. "I managed to capture some shots of (them) with my long-range telephoto lens camera before they rowed... out of the reserve," the 52-year-old told The Straits Times on Monday. After a trip into the reserve, the trio spent about 45 minutes relaxing near a river bank, while having a picnic on the kayak, Mr Lee said. He added that the man dangled his legs in the water as he ate. "The brackish mangrove river... is infested with crocodiles and one will never know if any of these crocodile will make a surprise grab on the man's leg," he said in an e-mail to The Straits Times. He spotted three crocodiles on his outing on Sunday, Mr Lee said, but he could not get clear photos of them as they were lurking in the water. The area is home to a number of wild saltwater crocodiles. Male saltwater crocodiles generally grow to 5m from snout to tail, and weigh about 450kg. Last April, a 400kg giant, probably one of the largest to have roamed wild here in decades, was found dead on the Kranji Reservoir grounds. It is believed to have been killed by poachers. Mr Lee sent The Straits Times two photos he took of crocodiles he had spotted on Saturday. He wrote in the same e-mail: "It would be unimaginable if (the canoe) were to capsize... as the canoeists were not having life jackets on or safety equipment..." Mr Lee emphasised to The Straits Times over the phone that he felt the authorities should put up signs to warn unsuspecting canoeists and kayakers that they should not row into the reserve. Besides putting their own lives in danger, they could also disturb the animals, he added. Mr Subaraj Rajathurai, director of Strix Wildlife Consultancy, stressed that the reptiles will not attack humans unless provoked. "But feet dangling in the water could look like fish, which is a crocodile's natural prey," he warned. When contacted, the National Parks Board (NParks) said it was aware of the incident. Said NParks' deputy director of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Mr How Choon Beng: "NParks officers noticed two adults and a child kayaking within Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve on Sunday afternoon. "When advised by our officers, they were cooperative and immediately left the boundaries of the Reserve." He also reminded visitors to keep within the designated land trails when visiting the reserve.

Between February 2012 and November 2013, 52-year-old Eng Eik Khoon had filmed his sexual acts with his mistress, snapped pictures of her sleeping nude and uploaded some of those photos onto his QQ accounts. Eng and the woman were having an affair from February 2012 to July 2013. Previously, the prosecution had asked for a jail term of three to 10 weeks. During mitigation, Eng told the court that he had suffered a stroke in August last year and needs help with his daily activities like walking and showering. He asked for a fine to be imposed. 14. It seems that ignorant - or, more appropriately, dumb - people are just everywhere in this world, even at the recent Pikes Peak motorsport event. Some people just figured that it was best for them to cross the road while racer Sebastien Loeb was approaching when they were actually supposed to be standing calmly on the sides of the road. Well, taking a look at the image, what comes to your mind? An image represents a thousand words, they say. However, to me, there's only one possible word to come to my mind, which is, dumb, and it echoes, like, a thousand times. You see, Loeb was cruising in a Peugeot bearing an engine with a total power output of 875bhp and the people in question just thought it was okay to cross the Pikes Peak International Highway when such a super powered car was coming. Moreover, they were crossing the road at a turn and Loeb couldn't have possibly seen them at such an angle. Oh geez, how dumber can they be? Nonetheless, I believe those people must have been blessed as they got away unharmed. Fortunately, Loeb was unharmed, too, as he didn't seem to have to avoid those people and he could continue with his quest for victory.
  15. That's an actual Pri 3 CA1 past year question from a branded Pri school. No options, so it's a free response question. What's your answer, and why? I can think of three equally valid ways to do it (two obvious and one slightly less obvious), giving three different answers. In fact, none of these is truly correct since there's insufficient information to establish the implied metric, but whatever. I wouldn't mind if challenging questions are set by those with a modicum of intelligence and judgement. But clearly, at least some of the question setters are falling short of the mark.
  16. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/sugar-dumb-us-sci...-190918147.html Eating too much sugar can eat away at your brainpower, according to US scientists who published a study Tuesday showing how a steady diet of high-fructose corn syrup sapped lab rats' memories. Researchers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) fed two groups of rats a solution containing high-fructose corn syrup -- a common ingredient in processed foods -- as drinking water for six weeks. One group of rats was supplemented with brain-boosting omega-3 fatty acids in the form of flaxseed oil and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), while the other group was not. Before the sugar drinks began, the rats were enrolled in a five-day training session in a complicated maze. After six weeks on the sweet solution, the rats were then placed back in the maze to see how they fared. "The DHA-deprived animals were slower, and their brains showed a decline in synaptic activity," said Fernando Gomez-Pinilla, a professor of neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. "Their brain cells had trouble signaling each other, disrupting the rats' ability to think clearly and recall the route they'd learned six weeks earlier." A closer look at the rat brains revealed that those who were not fed DHA supplements had also developed signs of resistance to insulin, a hormone that controls blood sugar and regulates brain function. "Because insulin can penetrate the blood-brain barrier, the hormone may signal neurons to trigger reactions that disrupt learning and cause memory loss," Gomez-Pinilla said. In other words, eating too much fructose could interfere with insulin's ability to regulate how cells use and store sugar, which is necessary for processing thoughts and emotions. "Insulin is important in the body for controlling blood sugar, but it may play a different role in the brain, where insulin appears to disturb memory and learning," Gomez-Pinilla said. "Our study shows that a high-fructose diet harms the brain as well as the body. This is something new." High-fructose corn syrup is commonly found in soda, condiments, applesauce, baby food and other processed snacks. The average American consumes more than 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of high-fructose corn syrup per year, according to the US Department of Agriculture. While the study did not say what the equivalent might be for a human to consume as much high-fructose corn syrup as the rats did, researchers said it provides some evidence that metabolic syndrome can affect the mind as well as the body. "Our findings illustrate that what you eat affects how you think," said Gomez-Pinilla. "Eating a high-fructose diet over the long term alters your brain's ability to learn and remember information. But adding omega-3 fatty acids to your meals can help minimize the damage." The study appeared in the Journal of Physiology.

    Dumb and Dumber

Seeing cars park along the 1 lane roadside when carpark is just 100m away is inconsiderate enough... Then comes a moronic driver who go take the effort to drive into the multistorey carpark and park nicely right infront of 2 lots, in the driveway, engine off, and squat in the parking lot to chat on the phone. Duhz! Anyone have friends like that? Care to enlighten me what is their rationale behind it?

Both waiting parties are at Changi Airport Why? Because greater mortals decided to impose peak hour surcharges on lesser mortals starting at 5pm. With imbeciles like them in the policy making department, big blue and their clout deserves to be chopped like a rotten carrot they are by private lawyers and workshops competing tooth and nail in the free market Imbecile run companies simply have too many "out of this world" solution to real world problems

  25. Drugs found inside cubicle which was locked for 2 days Police storm toilet cubicle, man flees July 17, 2008 FOR two days last week, a locked cubicle in one of the male toilets in Goldpine Industrial Building had workers scratching their heads. Goldpine Industrial Complex. -- TNP Picture: JONATHAN CHOO A man had locked himself in and refused to come out. Workers in the building along Joo Seng Road had heard noises coming from inside the cubicle. When they peeped under the door, they saw a leg against the partition wall. Last Thursday, an employee from a shop on the sixth storey, who declined to be named, went to the male toilet on the same level at about 8am. He noticed that one of the five cubicles was locked. When he went back in the afternoon and at 5.30pm, it was still locked. 'I thought something might be amiss and I figured someone was inside, but I didn't check,' he told The New Paper. The next morning, he found it was still locked. He said: 'The day before, I did not hear any noise coming from inside the cubicle. But the next day, I heard something that sounded like water boiling.' He did not knock on the door or call out to the person inside as he was afraid the latter would be dangerous. The police were called in after two men from the maintenance and security department failed to persuade the man to come out. A police spokesman confirmed they got a call at 4.40pm. The employee said two police officers arrived at 5pm and broke down the cubicle door. The man fled from the toilet. The spokesman confirmed that 'the man managed to flee'. He added that 'drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the cubicle'. He described the man as tanned, 1.7m tall, wearing a yellow jersey and a brown cap. The police are investigating. The building management declined to comment.
