Dear Esteemed Readers, It is with a heavy heart and a huge dose of disillusionment that I would like to share with you a personal anecdote about the Nissan Qashqai. Firstly, to be fair, with respect to the road tax- and petrol- saving 1.2 L Qashqai, the first five years of driving had been a breeze. However, all heel broke loose, merely a day after my Qashqai's 6th birthday last September. The chronology of my Qashqai's meltdown is as follows (I apologise for any technical typo): A. Replacement of the faulty (1) Evaporator Cooling Coil $320 (6 Sep 2021) (2) Dashbox $280 (6 Sep 2021) (3) Tow Truck Activation $140 (29 Oct 2021) (3) Thermostat Housing $270 (30 Oct 2021) (4) Manifold Gadget $60 (30 Oct 2021) (5) Fan Motor - Air Con $320 (30 Oct 2021) B. Dismantling and Assembly Costs in total $470 C. Locked gearbox with inability to shift the gear from Parking to Drive As recently as last December, it had taken me an average of 5 to 10 minutes to wait for the gearbox to disengage and move off but the situation dovetailed to a complete lockdown last month in which I have to use a pen to depress the Shift Lock button in every instance of gear shifting. D. Busted Speakers The last straw that broke the camel's back occurred yesterday when suddenly, the speakers just blared as loud as a car horn within the car (even at the lowest volume), the intensity of which still leaves me shell-shocked. I sincerely hope that the aforementioned sequence of unfortunate events only applies to yours truly but on a cautious note, I would strongly urge you to re-consider your buying option upon selection of a second-hand Qashqai. Dear mycarforum reader, Recently I heard from one of my friend that the car he is driving for less than a year has faulty pair of absorbers. This car is from a high end dealer and is very popular in Singapore. He contacted the dealer and was told that the pair of absorbers will be replaced only free of charge as it is on warranty. What would you do if you are the owner of this car? Welcome feedback. cheers.

Yes, all 3 of them not working. what will you do? I happened to be behind one dark coloured lancer earlier along CTE to town on the rightmost lane, after a while realised that the situation. Feel damned pissed off at the inconsiderate driver and as the traffic was quite heavy for a typical late Sat morning, I quickly filter to the left lane and I am almost reaching my exit. I have encountered cars with one or two faulty brakelights, and even one with brakelights permanently on (don't know what's the deal with that) but really is the first time to meet one with all not working. Guess some owners are getting more bo chap as their cars are getting older. Be careful out there.

See so many drivers don't even signal while changing lane ! Heard myths : 1) New Cars out of the factory , Signal system not install. 2) Drivers change car from japanese to conti. , forgot the signal stick is on the left. 3) The sound the tick bother some of the drivers. scared of the tick anymore myths u guys heard of ?? care to share ?

early early morning had a scare... fuel needle rapidly going down and i thought tank leak. reach petrol kiosk and top up full until see petrol floating in tank, on engine still show almost zero.... bad start to morning.... any bros experience this before? is repair very urgent as can barely afford any downtime this week.... wat could be the cause and damage? driving a 4yr old forte.... thanks!

Hope fellow bros and sisters can advise... pardon me if the explanation is not clear To switch on a car headlights, just turn the signal knob right? Turn once, for small lights plus fog lamp (if toggled on) and turn fully for big lights plus fog lamp (if toggled on). Now the current issue... Fog lamp is toggled on. Turn knob once but no lights from headlights nor fog lamp, not even rear lights! But when brakes are depressed, rear lights and brake light activated. HUD headlights icon not shown. Fog lamp still toggled on. Fully turned the knob, this time big headlights activated however it is not the case for fog lamp and rear lights. HUD headlights icon still not shown. I've changed a new battery but problem still persist. So what's the problem here? Which component is spoilt or faulty?

One of my spare remote car key for Nissan Sylphy is faulty. I have tried replace it with new battery but still unable to unlock, lock or open the car boot with the remote key. I try not to go back to the Nissan agent for replacement due to it high charger. Any good suggestion???

Major recall for 2012-14 F30 BMW 3 Series with N20/N26 for dangerous loss of braking Delivery of N20 and N26 powered vehicles stopped as a result of power brake assist problem On September 26th, BMW of North America announced to NHTSA its intention to conduct a voluntary Recall on certain 2012-2014 model year BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and Z4 models equipped with the N20 or N26 engine, produced from May 2012 to August 2013. Affected vehicles in dealer inventories will not be sold or delivered to customers until the recall repair has been performed. Vehicles at BMW vehicle delivery centers will be corrected before shipment to dealerships. The Problem: The oil supply from the intake camshaft to the brake vacuum pump can become restricted. If this happens the brake vacuum pump could fail due to lack of lubrication, resulting in a loss of power brake assist. The hydraulic brakes will still function to stop the vehicle but without power assist. Without assist the driver will need to apply much greater pedal pressure to stop the vehicle. The distance required to stop the vehicle will increase as most drivers will not be able to apply enough brake pedal pressure. In the event of a loss of brake power assist pull the emergency brake and apply as much brake pedal pressure as possible. If your BMW has an electronic parking brake pull up and hold the switch to engage the brake. Move away from traffic and park in a safe location as soon as possible. Hi all, Anyone encountering this fault on a Toyota? My Toyota Fielder is occasionally giving this fault code especially when I do high speed driving on the expressway - especially so I noticed when I'm on the NS highway. When I'm back, it's very rarely giving this fault code. The CEL goes on for a while and then goes off. But when I use an ODBII reader, I can still read the stored fault code. So, my question is : should I change the Knock Sensor? I think this is the only serviceable part. I asked my workshop and he says he has not changed this before?

Opinion needed. I've bought an in-car DVR from internet, thru some website, not direct seller. I've received it, tested, found to be faulty (jerky playback and battery unable to retain charge). (friend bought it and found it ok to be use) I have emailed seller for a replacement. He took days to reply and asked me to send back the camera only to him thru only normal mail (risk of lost in transit on me). I've asked him if I can send direct to him which he replied with his address which is at the other end of the island from me. Again, it took a day for him to reply. Even if I were to send it to him directly, I won't get the replacement immediately cos he need time to test it and only replace to me when it's found faulty. THen again, I think he will send back to me thru normal post again. Now, with all these hassles and all his reply in email take at least one day to answer a question, should I send the camera to him personally (takes time and petrol) or insist sending to him thru registered post or ask for a refund for faulty items? thanks

Hi bros, My after market dvd player suddenly spoilt out of no reason, just nice 1 year 2 mths ! Everyday after start up engine, it will be ok for 10-15mins, after that it will start to have " saaa saaa saaa" sound as though no reception lidat. Then, the moment i move off, it will be ok, once i stopped at the traffic light the same thing happen again! Any pros know whats the problem? and roughly how much it cost to repair it? Any recommendations for shops? I stay in the East side. I am not sure if it could be the wiring though, cos i think it happen after i tried to squeeze luggage into my boot when i fetch my dad, i could not really close the boot and i forced it down. But not sure also. Thanks!!

I am driving a Toyota Isis which comes with an auto sliding door. Recently, at stationary position, the door check light blinks even though all the doors have been closed properly. It only disappears when the vehicle moves off but at the same time, there is a double locking sound coming from the auto door, which has not happened previously. Is there any workshop in the Yishun or Woodlands area which could diagnose and repair such a problem? Appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

recently bought a red Vios from a 2nd hand dealer.. the car is 4 year old.. this is my first car which is a Auto gear car.. previously during learning. all the while was using manual car.. I realise there is some issue with the brake can anyone advice.. 1) 80% of the times when the car stop & i pull the handbrake at the traffic junction.. there is a "grrrrrr" sound. 2) during driving when i step on the footbrake sometimes i feel there is a obstruction on the brake, like there is a opposing force prevent me from stepping on the brake. Therefore i like to ask if it's normal tat way in a Autogear Vios car or isit my brake facing some problems?
